Kagome thanked every deity she could think of that her mother didn't say a word to Inuyasha once he came looking for her.

She did make him swear not to leave Kagomes side and to protect her with his life or so help her...Kagome sighed shaking her head.

Her mother understood that she had to return, as much as she didn't want her too. Time and again they had all witnessed events from that past taking effect in their own time.

Her mother understood the levity of the situation and the consequences that could come about if Kagome didn't finish her mission.

She had been forced to go on birth control which at first she thought was ridiculous but after consideration figured maybe it wasn't such a bad thing.

It was a pain getting her period and having to trudge around the feudal era, not to mention the weird looks Inuyasha always gave her and how he would become overprotective and clingy.

Maybe even Koga would leave her alone since it seemed he only came around when she was menstruating. She shook her head at the thought. '

Her mother had grounded her to her room for a couple of weeks forcing her to think on what she had done. She was allowed to come out only for school, meals, and bathroom breaks.

As far as she knew her mother had told everyone, Inuyasha included, that she was studying for a big end of year exam. Kagome sighed laying on her side on her bed.

She had only seen Inuyasha for a few minutes as she explained she'd be along after some time and apologized. As she lied to him she found it was actually incredibly easy to make up a story that was ground in reality.

"How am I going to face him again?" She had at first wondered to herself. "Will he know that I'm not a virgin anymore? Will he be able to tell that I slept with Sesshomaru?"

He hadn't seemed any wiser as she stood in her front door. Inuyasha had stayed outside not wanting to enter the house which was odd. Normally he just barged in.

"Is everything okay Kagome?" Inuyasha asked suddenly.

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"It's just, well I don't know, but it seems like around your shrine there's a lot of tension. I can sense it."

"Oh we're just busy, busy people is all. Moms got a lot going on right now with work, Grandpas been having some health issues, my school works just brutal, and Sotas been acting like a little punk lately."

"I get it." He shrugged. "Just hurry back, okay."

"Yeah I know, I know. Lots of jewel shards to collect."

"It isn't just about the jewel shards." Inuyasha stated. "You..uh, know that right?"

Kagome gave a nod feeling her heart swell. "Yeah. I do."

"Good. Well I'll see ya' when you get back. Your mothers acting weird and I don't want to upset her."

She brought her pillow to her face and whined into it at the memory. As amazing as it had been with the demon lord, Kagome very much still liked Inuyasha. She hadn't magically fallen in love with his brother, it had just been sex.
