The woman, who was waving, said, "Hi, honey! How are you?"

Lyle opened his mouth and said, "That's your mom?" Emmy silently nodded.

The woman ran out of the shadow of the airplane, and towards Emmy. As she stepped out, Lyle and Carmine could see that she had blonde hair and a long black coat with a V neck with black fur rimming the cuffs and the end of the coat, the coat covered the woman's entire body.

Lyle shouted shockingly, "Your mom is the champion of Sinnoh?!" Again, Emmy nodded.

The champion of Sinnoh stopped in front of Emmy and cupped her cheeks, "My, my, my, you've grown so big. Wait, how old are you again?"

"I'm 13, mom," Emmy answered exasperatedly.

"Wait, why 13, aren't you supposed to be 10, since this is your first year as a trainer?" the champion asked, as she was confused.

"Because the Pokemon World Government made the law that all trainers must enter the school where they teach you all you need to know about being a trainer and that you must pass the trainer exam, this law excludes all people who are already trainers," Emmy replied.

"You just memorized all of that?" Emmy's mom asked. Emmy smiled and her mom smiled back warmly.

Emmy questioned," Aren't you the champion, shouldn't you know this already?"

"Eh, I pay no mind to anything made by our idiotic Pokemon World Champion." the champion answered. Everyone nodded in agreement. Indeed, their PWC is dumb and stupid. The champion did not do anything useful and was not a good political leader. The champion got their spot by winning a tournament about 9 years ago, unlike other regional champions, who became champions due to being chosen by the former champions of their region. The PWC, while hated, holds more power than anyone in the world.

The Sinnoh Champion opened the stairs of the plane for everyone to be able to go in the plane. Emmy hung her head as she went in the plane. Lyle and Carmine just kept their shocked faces. The professor, on the other hand, was smiling because his surprise surprised the kids. As soon as everyone was inside, the stairs pulled itself inside the plane and the door shut automatically.

The champion grabbed a microphone and her voice echoed throughout the plane, "Welcome to Shirona Airlines, I'm your captain for today, Cynthia Shirona. Our goal for this flight is to not crash because that sucks." Lyle snorted at the dry humor. Carmine, who was beside him, looked at him in shock and mouthed, 'You laughed?' Lyle shrugged. Trying to take the awkwardness of finding out who Emmy's mom is, Carmine asked Emmy why they haven't done "IT'S TIME FOR EMMY'S OUTFIT OPINION". Emmy's face brightened and decided that it was time to do her outfit opinion. Lyle inwardly groaned at what they were going to do. Emmy made Carmine sit straight as she conducted her outfit opinion. Carmine had denim jeans, blue hoodie, and sapphire earrings.

"What are you trying to camouflage as the sky?" Emmy noted.

Carmine was mad, her nose flared, eyes were glaring, and her arms crossed. She then spat, "Oh yeah, and what about you? Trying to look like an 80s pop star!"

"How dare you? This is my mom's outfit!" Emmy retorted.

Carmine opened her mouth in an O shape and pointed at the cockpit. "Not her," Emmy muttered.

"Wait, what?" Lyle asked.

"I have two moms." Emmy explained. Just then Cynthia left the cockpit and walked to them and asked a bit threateningly, "Is there a problem with that?"

Carmine and Lyle immediately shook their heads. Lyle explained, "Just shocked is all because Emmy lives with her grandparents, I never knew." Cynthia nodded her head slowly and walked back to the cockpit.

The professor then woke up from his slumber and peered outside the window and saw bits of land. He said, "Oh, that's fast."

"Oh, we're already here," Carmine questioned.

"Not nearly, but we're in Johto." Gary replied. At this, Lyle groaned out loud.

He decided to use the remaining time to read his book. He took his phone out from his pocket and he had no trouble ignoring the two girls bickering.

After about an hour, the two girls finally stopped arguing and fell asleep on each other. Lyle, being a gentleman, got a blanket and put it on the two girls. He looked out the window and saw only water. He checked the map on the screen in front of him and apparently they were in Hoenn. His eyes were tired from reading, so he decided to close his eyes for a while

Sounds of slapping echoed throughout the airplane. Cynthia left her pilot seat to check what happened, pokeball in hand and when she arrived at the source of the sound, she just face-palmed. Carmine and Emmy were slapping Lyle to wake him up.

Carmine's hands got tired, so she took a bucket of hot water and used it to splash Lyle awake.

Lyle's first thought was that he was drowning in a vat of melted butter, but as he wiped the water off his face he saw Emmy and Carmine standing over him holding a bucket.

"I oubught to kibil bbyou," Lyle gurgled.

"We can't hear you!" Emmy and Carmine sang in unison.

Lyle spat the water in his mouth and repeated himself, "I said I ought to kill you!" As he said this, he jumped out of his seat and broke the seat belt holding him back. He took the remaining water in the bucket and threw it at the two girls. They both screamed and started chasing Lyle around the small plane, the chase ended almost immediately, and started attacking him.

Cynthia, who was watching, asked Gary sarcastically, "So these are Pallet's finest?"

The professor sighed, "Apparently." The girls began throwing ice at Lyle. What did this plane not have? He then continued, "Calm down now!" The three newbie trainers stopped what they were doing and sat down, all prim and proper. The professor looked at them, then continued looking outside. The three kids were quiet in their seats, reading and/or looking outside the window.

After about 15 minutes, the professor spoke up, "Ok, kids, get ready! We are nearly there." The three newbie trainers got their backpacks and duffle bags. As the plane landed very smoothly, the pilot spoke, "Welcome to the Kalos Region, I was your captain for today, Cynthia Shirona. I hope you've enjoyed your flight."

"Mom, you know you don't have to do that, right?" Emmy asked her mom who was in the cockpit.

"I know, but I like doing it," Cynthia answered, as she dragged Emmy out of the cockpit and into the stairs and then, they walked down the stairs and took their first steps of Kalos, for today. The group took a breath of sunny, fresh, and warm Kalosian air. Lyle was reminded of the times he spent on top of the trees near the forest in Pallet town. Lyle always played there with his pokemon friends. This was, of course, before the long cold winter in Kanto. Carmine, on the other hand, was annoyed. The warm weather meant that she had to take her hoodie off, as it was hot. She took her hoodie off revealing what she was wearing under. It seemed that Carmine wore a blue sleeveless top.

"Come on, girl. Blue again?!" Emmy reacted, "Do you specifically dress to piss me off?"

"Yes, Emmy. My entire wardrobe and the way I dress is to piss you off," Carmine said dryly. She tried to keep her face as straight as possible because sometimes she purposely dresses to annoy Emmy. The fact that she doesn't look nice, doesn't really bother her much as long as Emmy's annoyed, she's happy.

The professor shook his head. While they are the best of the best of Kanto, they are still children. Who knows if they can survive the harsh conditions of living outside? Maybe if they were separated, they wouldn't be so playful and become serious accomplished trainers. The children were indeed smart and resourceful and they demonstrated this in their trainer exams, at least among the group, Lyle seemed to be the most serious and laidback one. What can he do though, it's not like he can change their entire personality?

After a couple minutes of walking from the plane, they saw a large glass dome. The three newbie trainers, who were behind the professor and Cynthia, rushed in front of them in order to get a better view of the dome. The glass dome was translucent, therefore they couldn't see much of the inside, but they could see shadows of pokemon and humans walking around inside. At the bottom of the dome, there was a small extension that connects to the dome. It serves as an entrance and an exit. As they approached the entrance, the professor took out a card and tapped it unto the scanner and the doors automatically opened. The three friends were completely mesmerized by the new sight. How have they never heard of this place?

The inside of the dome was exquisite and architecturally impressive. There was a big lake full of water type pokemon, a waterfall in the side of the lake to fill the lake with water, a high ceiling for pokemon that fly, wide fields with flowers, and a forest filled with tall trees. There were more places in this dome, but that was all they could see as they followed the professor. They arrived at a pretty large tent house. The professor and Cynthia lead them inside and they see other newbie trainers with officials from all over the region.

"Wait, aren't you the representative from Sinnoh?" Carmine asked the champion.

"No, I am from Sinnoh, but the representative of Sinnoh should be Professor Lucas Koki.", answered Cynthia. She found Professor Lucas along with a male trainer and waved at them and the professor waved back and smiled then continued talking to the trainer.

As they were finding somewhere to stay, someone spoke through the speakers around the tent house,"Since everyone is here, please go inside the tent house and take your seats."

Soon everyone outside went inside, and they saw a room with a lot of chairs inside and in front was a large place, where a speaker can talk. Everyone started taking their seats and there was a woman with brown hair and a yellow turtleneck that was kind of hidden by the lab coat she wore, she walked towards the front, stopped, and picked up the microphone.

"For those who do not know me, let me give you a clue. I am the first person in the world to finish the Kanto and Johto pokedex." As the woman said this, someone from the audience screamed,"Woo yeah!" The woman laughed at the response and continued, "I am Daisy Oak." A couple gasps and shocked noises could be heard from the crowd, Emmy turned and saw Professor Gary smirking.

She then gave instructions and introductions, "You may have never heard of this place. This is called the S.H.I.P., meaning Safe Haven International, Pokémon. Many pokemon come in and out of this place and use it as a home or a place to stay for the night. Many rare pokemon live here and this place is heavily protected by people and technology."

Emmy thought that the name S.H.I.P. was dumb, and the entire place did not look anything like a ship. They could've just named it "The Dome", since the entire place was a freaking large dome. Why would you name a large dome, S.H.I.P., it did not make any sense at all. There were a ton of genius scientists and rangers in this place and they decided to call it the S.H.I.P. She gave up, the name was stupid and that cannot change her mind. She even accidentally murmured, "Stupid."

"Huh? What did you say, Em?" Lyle asked.

"Nothing." she murmured back. Lyle nodded at this, but he knew it was not nothing. Pursuing what she actually said would be a waste of time, so he just dropped it.

Daisy Oak took a stack of paper and gave it to an assistant, who in return, gave one piece of paper to each person in the audience. Lyle finally got a piece of the paper, it turned out to be a map, except there were portions of the map that were crossed out. Daisy began explaining, "As you can see, we have crossed out some places on the map. Those are the places you cannot go to. And if you get lost, well, you guys are supposed to be smart so figure that out yourself?"

Murmurs and confusion were heard and seen all over the place, especially on the new trainers. Lyle examines the map further, apparently they weren't allowed near the sea, mountains, the snowy areas, and the deeper parts of the forest.

Wrapping up the instructions, "On your way out, you will receive some berries, a raincoat, and a remote with only one shiny red button." As she said this, the items were passed around, so that people could get the items. "You will not catch the pokemon, but you will tame the pokemon and bring it to this place, where you can catch it. Now go and find your starter!" Daisy continued.

With all the items, everyone was leaving to catch their starter. Lyle, on the other hand, was processing information.

"Carmine's aunt is Daisy Oak and your mom is the Champion?!" Lyle blurted out.

"Yeah, yeah, chill your pants, dude." Emmy replied to Lyle's outburst.

Lyle sighed, "Ok, ok, I thought I was dreaming something weird."

"Wait, so us having famous relatives shock you?" Emmy questioned angrily.

"Yeah, I mean you never mentioned them. I guess I could've known Carmine's aunt cause we know her dad is Gary Oak, but you live with your grandparents. I couldn't have known." Lyle answered.

Emmy found his answer acceptable and nodded. Soon, the other 7 trainers left and Carmine, Lyle, and Emmy were left in the tent house. Carmine got up and waved to the group and left to get her starter. Emmy followed her hastily and tripped on a wire, while trying to catch up with Carmine. Lyle stretched his arms and stood up as well. He saw Gary, Daisy, and Cynthia talking nearby, and he waved to them and signaled that he would be leaving. Gary saw this and nodded at him, telling him to go ahead. Lyle went ahead and went to the field area first.

He saw small pokemon running about in the fields, a Morellul waking up, a couple of grass types taking a nap, and the bug types and small flying types were simply gliding through the field either walking or literally gliding. The sheer amount of pokemon Lyle met at once seems to throw him off as he doesn't really pay much attention to anything else, other than the pokemon. He continues walking from the field and headed west, where the forest was planned to find a pokemon that he could bond with over there, since he loved the forest and the trees he might also find a pokemon that could share the same interests or ,at the very least, it lives in a forest. He heads into the forest.

Carmine was heading for the mountains, which according to the map, was restricted. There was a loophole though, you can actually go to the base of the mountain. There was just one problem, you had to cross a sliver of the snowy area. Carmine ignored the fact that the snowy area was restricted and had her eyes set on going to the base of the mountain. When she arrived at the snowy area, she noticed some ice type pokemon. A couple of Snovers and Snorunts were staring at her. They had never seen this small human, the human seemed to ignore them, so they deemed her harmless and continued chatting about the insane girl that was trying to weather the harsh conditions without the proper gear. Good thing Carmine can't understand them. Carmine powered through the strong weather and reached the base of the mountain, but before searching for a starter she decided to rest a while.

Emmy, who was following Carmine, had to take a break from running after her. She found Carmine's footsteps on the snow. She ran into the snowy area, but while she was following the footprints, it disappeared. Emmy was panicking and hyperventilating, she looked around for a place to go to. She laid her eyes on a cave and rushed towards it to hide in there for a while.

At the same time from different places in the S.H.I.P., I mean DOME, in different places they heard a small sound from where they were. As if in sync, they're heads all turned towards the source of the sound. The source of the sound was…
