Unknown Dimension
The Eds had been teleported to an island. The prototype they built was destroyed as result of the unstable core and its pieces were scattered across the beach. They were knocked out because the jump was premature. Double-D was the first to awaken and immediately checked to see if his two pals were ok. Eddy woke up shortly after Double-D did.
"Ugh, my head." he said rubbing the back of his head as Double-D went to him.
"Thank goodness you're ok Eddy." he said thankful that his friend wasn't hurt.
"What about Ed is he fine?" Eddy asked
"It's Ed, Eddy." Double-D dryly said.
"Oh right." he remembered knowing his friend can take damage and be left without a scratch.
Ed jumped up as if nothing had happened. He then walked to where his two friends were. "Where are we?" he asked as he continued walking to them.
"It appears when the device discharged that energy it teleported us before destroying itself." Double-D deduced
"Who cares for all we know is that-" Eddy stopped when he saw his reflection on the water. He backpedaled to get better look.
Upon closer inspection he found that his eyes were no longer black dots instead they were actual eyes. Aside from that the three strands of hair on his head were now a full head of hair in a spiky style. That's not all he had grown taller and his clothes matched his height.
As with him his friends too went through the same transformation. Ed had a full head of orange hair, while Double Ds was still covered by his hat some strands popped out from under it. There clothes and appearance were also transformed like Eddy's.
"What happened to us!" he exclaimed at their transformations.
"Looks like you boys are suffering a textbook case of faulty prototype." a voice called
They turned around and saw someone walking towards them. Upon reaching the adolescents they got a clear view of the individual. He was around their age, wearing a dark blue hoodie with a black skull and crossbones logo, blue jeans, and high tops.
"Who are you?" Eddy asked at the newcomer.
"My name is Bystander interdimensional traveler." he introduced
"You named yourself that because you stand a lot." the former remarked
"Eddy." Double-D said sternly
"Forgive my friend's rudeness. Can you please tell us where we are." the adolescent asked
"Simple you are in the world of Freezing." he explained
The eds were caught off guard by this. "Come again?"
"I know this might come as a shock. But you were guys accidently brought to another world."
The words were slow to sink into their heads. But to Ed, they struck him like a hammer on a nail. "This is the greatest day of my life!" He jumped in the air.
"Its like my comic books only that its real." Ed said. "Does this world need a hero to vanquish the great evil?" he urged
His two friends looked at him in confusion at his display while Bystander just sweat dropped. "This world already has heroes you cliched trope reader."
"Aw." Ed hung his head in defeat.
"Wait didn't you say you're an interdimensional traveler. Then that means you can send us back home." Eddy realized
"Yes, but I have some good news and bad news." he said "First I can do it, the only problem is that something has disturbed the multiverse and I can only use it on myself" he elucidated
The Eds were now left with the problem of being stuck in another dimension. One where they have no knowledge on!
"Don't worry though I'm going to see why its like that." He chimed in trying to lighten their mood.
"In the meantime, you guys are gonna go to school."
"Seriously, we get stuck in a different dimension and we still have to go to school." Eddy said in disbelief
"This isn't your run-of-the-mill type of school." Bystander shot back
"Come I'll show you." he gestured to them
The four began walking from the beach to the forest. Bystander led the way so that the three won't get lost. Travelling on a dirt path it was quiet for most of the time.
"Can you please give us some insight on this world." Double-D said
"Sure, this world is ravage by interdimensional beings known as the Nova." he began
"They first arrived around 2012 and began their attack. The military's weapons proved ineffective against them and their 'Freezing' ability. All hope seemed to be lost until the arrival of a woman named Maria Lancelot."
"Maria Lancelot?" the intellect asked
"She was the first pandora and fought in the earliest clashes before her death. From her death she is hailed as the Mother of all Pandora."
"I assume these Pandora are the defenders of mankind?" he deduced
"Very good observation skills. Anyway, enough of Maria's DNA was saved to create stigmata. Which are special tissues that grant Pandora their abilities." explained Bystander
"Fascinating." Double-D said in awe
"Initially Pandoras fought on their own until the introduction of limiters. They are their male partners who provide support to them by deploying their own freezing fields. To do this they are implanted with one of the girl's own stigmata. In combat when the fighting gets tough, they activate an Ereinbar Set which synchronizes and connects the five senses of a pandora with those of their Limiter. Allowing their partner to use a freezing field."
The smartest of the trio was amazed at this. He wondered though what did it felt like to go through this and study it for intellectual reasons. The other 2 Eds listened in, Ed wanted to become a Limiter and Eddy paid attention to only half of the conversation.
"Hey what's this school you mentioned like anyway?" Eddy asked
"The kids who attend it come from wealthy and influential families. You get 5-star rooms, excellent food, basically everything is great." he explained
At the mention of the word 'wealthy' an idea went to Eddy's head. "Since this school is for rich kids that means more suckers." he said rubbing the palms of his hands together at the prospect of new people to swindle.
"You are not doing any of that." Bystander warned. "You'll be staying there only."
Eddy groaned as they continued on their way.
