Chapter 2: Acting out of Character

Bubbles woke up and found herself in an alleyway; finding it hard to breathe because of the tape over her mouth (very effective honestly). "Hello?" She mumbled; her words weren't clear because of the tape muffling her speech. "What happened last night? I fell asleep in the training room, now I'm in an alleyway?" Bubbles was piecing together this puzzle amazingly quick; she attempted to get up on her feet, but stumbled constantly. She managed to get her back against the wall and finally stand up. Then she tripped five seconds after getting up. "Well shoot... now what?" Bubbles was out of options, then thought: "What if I tried inching forward? Like a caterpillar?" She tried this, and it worked. She was officially making her way to her home; really slowly...

*Cut to the house*

"*Yawns* That was something last night wasn't it girls?" Blossom asked; still a little tired.

"I'm being honest when I say this, a fusion superpower is honestly the coolest thing we've ever done since we fought HIM in the form of Brambles." Buttercup commented. "Bubbles what about you?"

"Huh!? Oh yeah. It was pretty cool." S. Bubbles added.

"Oh girls! Are you all awake!?" The Professor called from downstairs.

"Yes Professor!" Blossom and Buttercup yelled down. S. Bubbles had no idea who the Professor even is, but yelled yes along with her enemies.

"Come down then! I've finished reworking the rings and found out how to prevent them from draining your energy; turns out, I was using the wrong core part!" The Professor explained.

"We'll be down in a moment!" Buttercup yelled down, she got dressed into her usual attire and flew down to the Professor; as did Blossom, but she gave S. Bubbles a nasty glare before heading down.

"Listen here, I know you're not my real sister. I'm just not ratting you out so that when you run out of power, the difference will be obvious." Blossom stated.

"Oh really Bloss? That's funny... but how will I be able to run out of power if you have all these power outlets here?" S. Bubbles then showed off the charger in her arm.

"Sure, you may think you're going to have an easy time." She then flew out of the closet dressed, and with her scarf wrapped around her backwards. "Oops." *Repositions scarf* "But lemme tell you something, I overheard you come in here and take Bubbles away, but I didn't do anything about it because I was too tired. But I had enough energy to remove your charger from the socket." Blossom then pointed over to the torn off end of S. Bubbles' charger.

"You little *vulgarity*… well okay *sweats nervously* (how does a robot sweat?) well... I'll just... head down and you know..." Her voice suddenly got dark and angry. "Listen here you insect... I may be at twenty-four in terms of battery left over, but I am more than capable of destroying your *vulgarity* when the time comes. You hear me?" S. Bubbles threatened.

"Sure, we can fight. But only if you can show that you have the ability to sustain your battery for the rest of today; and if you even think of hesitating while fighting a monster, I'll expose you like the metal faker you are." Blossom tried to make S. Bubbles fear her more. "Also, it's not really pure guesswork to know that you're a robot when you have x-ray vision."

"Alright fine... I'll do it..." S. Bubbles complained.

"Good, now remember, if you act out of character even once, it gives me full permission to rat out the fact you're not really Bubbles." Blossom reminded.

"As much as I hate to... I technically am a doppelganger however. Okay 'sis' I'll do it!" If you couldn't tell, S. Bubbles isn't being herself; but Bubbles.

"Good. Now then 'Bubbles', why don't we go and see what the Professor wanted to show us?" Blossom asked; gritting her teeth.

"Okay Bloss! Let's do juuuust that!" S. Bubbles replied sarcastically. Then both sisters flew down to the lab where Buttercup was testing out the X-hancing ring's new power. By the time the other two got down there the ring had turned off; and Buttercup was still flying around like nothing happened.

"Wow. I don't even feel tired, or weak! I think you may have actually done it!" Buttercup explained happily. "Oh hey you two. What took you so long?"

"Just had a little discussion with 'Bubbles' over here. You are feeling better right?" Blossom asked.

"Yeah. So who's the guy in the lab coat?" S. Bubbles whispered to Blossom.

"That's very out of character for you 'Bubbles' how could you not know who Professor Utonium is? *Gasps* I think I know why, it's because you're not Bubbles!" Blossom sarcastically remarked.

"So it seems I've broken character... no matter!" S. Bubbles then revealed her robotic parts again, and unleashed the two harmful cannons from earlier. Instead of blasting powerful energy, it instead shot a metallic rope that ensnared the girls and the Professor. "HAH! Now these special rings you 'oh so very much need' belong to me! Me, and my master." S. Bubbles then let out a frightening laugh.

"Darn it. Where is Bubbles when you need her?" Buttercup asked herself.

*Cut back to Bubbles*

"Almost there... almost... made it... I'm seriously hurting from inching. Wait a minute, I'm a superhero; duh!" She then strained hard enough and broke out of the metallic ropes, then tore the tape off her mouth, and yelped in pain. "Ow... but that's not important. I gotta help my family." She then bolted off towards the house, and noticed a light-blue light trial extend from out of the house. "Silicon Bubbles." She said out loud to herself. She then flew directly at her doppelganger, delivering a punch, causing S. Bubbles to drop the X-hancing rings.

"Well. So my look-a-like decided to show up?" S. Bubbles commented. "I see you managed to escape my metal holders. How about it, you and me; just one battle, between two Bubbles?" S. Bubbles asked.

"Let's." Bubbles simply replied. Bubbles then placed the X-hancing rings in a protective field (apart from her own, which she put on). "If you win, I let you take the rings. If I come out on top you'll leave us alone, for the next week." Bubbles told her enemy.

S. Bubbles noticed that her system battery was suddenly fully charged. "Well, being near the sunlight seems to have recharged my systems. Though I hate having solar-powered battery. IT DOESN'T MATTER; you and I, fight now!" She didn't even give Bubbles a moment of reaction and charged at her, Bubbles managed to block off the punch.

"Playing dirty? That's low, even for you." The battle truly started when Bubbles powered on her ring, and fired off the rainbow eye lasers. This damaged S. Bubbles a lot. Causing her to short circuit for a moment; she immediately recovered and fired off blasts from her arm cannons. They swirled through the air and stopped, taking this moment to self-destruct without a moment's notice. Bubbles, barely managing to escape the blast then charged at S. Bubbles, grabbing her by the pigtails (that were actually part of her head) and throwing her off into the horizon. S. Bubbles managed to recover easily unfortunately, and she unleashed a thruster from her backside, she activated it and shot towards Bubbles. While doing so she unleashed a fury of energy blasts from her arm cannons Bubbles set up her forcefield to prevent the blasts from damaging her. But she was caught off guard by a punch to her chest, the forcefield broke as the energy blades slashed at Bubbles. She wasn't feeling weak, but she was feeling overwhelmed. "I'm not giving up. I have to prove my worth as a hero." With that, she pressed the ring's button AGAIN; thinking it'll do something, it actually didn't have the desired effect; she accidentally turned it off earlier than it powers down. "Well crud. Now I have to save up energy." She made many attempts to dodge all of S. Bubbles frenzied attacks and succeeded. While she did that, the ring was ready again; she tapped it and activated its power. She was then able to take on S. Bubbles without any problems. S. Bubbles was suddenly hit by a stray blast of energy.

"What!? How!? I was doing so well!" S. Bubbles retorted.

"You may have the sun's rays on your side, but I got two sisters by my side." Bubbles told her as Blossom and Buttercup rose up and put their rings on.

"Like they say. 'Strong alone'." Buttercup started.

"But stronger together." Blossom finished. All three girls activated their rings at the exact same time and then fused together again; with Bubbles in control.

"I (we) can do this. This'll be no problem." The fusion dashed towards Silicon Bubbles and started wailing on her. She used a sonic scream and stunned S. Bubbles completely. "Buttercup take over!" She told herself (Buttercup). "Alright, I got this." She then used a homing bomb spike and blasted S. Bubbles out of the air. "Blossom, your turn." She told herself (Blossom). "Ready!" She landed down by S. Bubbles and spoke to her; "Don't you know you can never beat a Powerpuff Girl; or all three at once for that matter? Maybe you should 'chill' out for a while." She then breathed ice onto S. Bubbles and threw her out towards the horizon, with greater distance. "See you never." She said with light-blue shimmering eyes. She then unfused (creating no explosion), and the girls high-oned.

"That was great girls! I feel like we've finally managed to get a perfect hold of our fusion ability!" Blossom stated.

"Yeah. You know what, I'm not taking this ring off." Buttercup said happily.

"Bubbles how about you? Bubbles?" Blossom was looking over at her sister who was looking out at the setting sun. "Is something wrong?" Blossom asked.

"I did it. I managed to beat her... thanks to you two." Bubbles looked back at her sisters with closed eyes and a full smile.

"You're welcome Bubbles. Remember, never be afraid to ask for help; especially from us." Blossom told her sister.

"Well. We should probably be heading back now." Bubbles said as she flew back into the house.

"She really is something isn't she Buttercup?" Blossom asked.

"Although I probably wouldn't admit it 'out loud', I totally agree. I feel like she's got a bit of a secret going on under those innocent eyes." Buttercup joked; though she was being serious.

"Well. Let's head back in as well. The Professor is probably waiting for us." Blossom told her.

*Cut to Silico's lair*

"*Unnerving laugh* Oh girls. You were always one step ahead of every villain, I always knew you'd win the battle against my new creation. As for you Silicon Bubbles, I believe what you did was highly careless." Silico informed his broken down creation.

She was playing with her loose wires. "I'm sorry master... *short circuits* it's just that they really *short circuits* annoy me to death; and I want to do what no one... not *short circuits* even you could do." S. Bubbles apologized.

"You know... I'll have to think of a proper punishment. Perhaps I'll take your entire operating system, and turn it into a... wait; actually, I have a better idea. You'll be held in this capsule unless I feel like using you again." Silico told her.

"Please... I can try again... I'll do better!" S. Bubbles pleaded.

"No you can't. That's your problem; I forgot to give you a form of common sense when making you. So you're gonna stay in this capsule, until I make all necessary upgrades to you." Silico reminded her. He then kicked her destroyed body into an upgrade capsule, pulled a lever, and began the upgrade process. "Powerpuff Girls... you may not be able to hear me now. But if you somehow are... prepare yourself for a very rude awakening one day. This is my revenge for locking me in an insane asylum for four years! I will win eventually..." Silico said; possibly foreshadowing future events.

And so once again the day, was saved! Thanks to... the Powerpuff Girls! (The End).
