Dawn closed her eyes as she let a small smile form on her lips, her hair gently blowing in the wind as she listened. The sun warmed her skin up just enough but not too much to burn the girl, she could stay like this for hours on end, but she couldn't. She was training… and by training she meant… playing hide and seek. With her powers she can sense all of the woods, plants, and even the worms underneath that were alive within her radius. But she was looking for one in particular.
A light laughter whispered in the wind, making her turn to her left as she focused on that. She jumped down as the wind helped her gently down as she touched the moist ground. Dawn giggled as she noticed the vibrations of the running feet felt heavier than that of an average boy. She sunk into the earth and traveled through the ground before she popped up in front of Pinocchio.
"Boo!"
"Aah!" he jumped before turning and trying to run away.
Dawn ran after him, just for fun, "I'm going to catch you, Pinocchio!"
"No, you're not!" Pinocchio laughed, "You may be powerful, but I am faster"
That was true, Dawn was already losing ground as she contemplated using her powers for a minute, but what would be the fun in that? Dawn leaned herself forward as she hoped that would somehow get her to go faster. She wasn't expecting Pinocchio to suddenly stop making her slam into his wooden back.
"Ouch!" Dawn rubbed her forehead, "Why did you do that for?"
"We have to leave" Pinocchio barely let out.
"What?" Dawn asked loudly, "Why?"
She noticed a woman in a black extremely fancy clothing was standing not too far from them as Dawn asked, "Who are you?"
The woman sneered as she said, "Don't you notice a Queen when you see her?"
"Dawn…" Pinocchio whispered, "Let's go"
Dawn glanced at her friend as he cast his eyes to the ground, she furrowed her eyebrows as she knew that she couldn't take Pinocchio traveling through the dirt like that. She gently took her friend's hand as the wind picked up but the Queen reached out and suddenly Dawn couldn't breath as she gasped and grabbed her throat for air.
"Oh, no, dear" the Evil Queen chuckled, "You're not going anywhere"
Water suddenly filled Dawn's lungs as she coughed them out, barely able to open her eyes and acknowledge the pain but the man repeatedly patted her cheek over and over.
"Hey, hey, hey!" he urged, "Who said you could go anywhere?"
"Please" Dawn croaked, "Let me go"
"I don't think so, princess" he disagreed, "You have information that I need… information that I know you have"
"On where August is?" Dawn asked, "I told you, I don't know. He finds me and doesn't stay very long"
He asked, "How can someone of your… abilities lose track of that man? I've heard tales of nymphs and I know their powers and you, young lady, are lying to us"
"Magic is different here" Dawn objected, "I haven't gained control of my powers yet and can't sense him, believe me, I tried!"
"Even now?" he asked.
"I can't sense him when I'm being tortured" her throat crooked and cracked, now she wished that she drank from the water he splashed over her face, "You haven't even let me try with this… thing on my wrist"
He snapped his fingers, "Oh right! That! Yeah, see that's going to have to stay on because I don't want you or your roommate here to try and do something to me and my associate"
Dawn blinked, "My roommate?"
He pointed to her right, "We just got her this morning"
Dawn turned her head to the side and let out a gasp as she recognized the Evil Queen laying not even five feet away from her. She looked bad in shape but Dawn must've looked one hundred times worse. She couldn't really say if she was happy to see Regina or disappointed, she was kind of hoping that it was Emma or Snow White who was the other hostage. At least she would know that someone would be out looking for those women, Regina, on the other hand, the whole town is probably rejoicing that she's disappeared. Regina let out a groan and opened her eyes as she started to look around at her surroundings.
"Wha- Where am I?" Regina let out.
"Behold…" he raised up his hand, "The Queen"
"Who the hell are you?" Regina demanded before she looked further, "Dawn?"
"Hello, Regina" Dawn let out, "Don't suppose you have someone looking for you?"
"I highly doubt it" the mysterious man chuckled, "My co-worker has been keeping an eye out on the town on when would be the right time to take you hostage. We were going to frame you and turn your son against you but you were doing so perfectly on your own that we just had to wait for the perfect moment to snatch you up"
"You son of a bitch" Regina cursed at the man as she moved up her hand but was surprised when nothing happened.
He looked curious, "Were you thinking that something was going to happen?"
Regina glanced to Dawn as she lifted up her own wrist and did her best to wiggle her hand. The woman glanced down to her hand and noticed the black cuff bracelet as Dawn was sure Regina could feel it sucking her power out now. The Queen's facade changed as she seemed almost scared of the outcome as the man laughed and walked over to Regina's side. Even though Regina has put her and the town through a lot, Dawn's stomach dropped as she watched the man power up her own device to electrocute her with.
"What does he want?" Regina turned to Dawn.
"Information… from her" he turned to Regina, "But to you, I just wanna make this hurt you… for what you did to my father"
"You're going to have to be more specific than that" Regina spat out, "Do you know how many people I've killed over the years as Queen? I'll hardly ever remember who your father was even if you gave me a picture of him"
"Sure you will" he leaned over her, "Because we were the first visitors in this town"
"Visitors?! We never ha-" Regina stopped before she looked up to him, "You?! I remember you"
"See? Wasn't too hard no was it" he straightened up, "Now I wanna know, where is my father"
Before Regina could answer, the man pressed the button as the lights flickered slightly as Regina arched her back and let out a scream. Dawn immediately turned her head to the other side as she continued to hear Regina's screams get louder with each press of the button. A tear went down the side of her face as she tried to break the hatch off of her cufflink with the handcuff wrapped tightly around her wrist.
