"Is the room ready?" asked D with impatience.

Ocelot readed the list that the boy gave him.

"Almost. Seriously you need all this stuff? I can understand the foldable chairs, the sheets of papers, the crayons, but seriously? A pole? A bed?"

D replied with a smile.

"I almost forgot the reasons." replied disappointed Ocelot, before being surprised by the next items in the list.

"A saltwater swimmingpool? Is that a joke?" asked Ocelot.

"Don't forget a shower with sweetwater. I already told you. I need them for my sessions with Quiet. Of course I will talk with her. I will get more info about her than with your methods."

The sound of helicopter's rotor interrupted them.

The Blackhawk that was transporting Venom and Kaz was finally back to Mother Base.

The Mother Base was Diamond Dogs'headquarters. It was located in the Indian Ocean, in the Seychelles waters. It was like an oil rig but bigger and composed by hexagonal platforms.

While Venom and Ocelot were talking, Miller was moved for getting his wounds treated.D

When Venom was ready for the next mission and moving towards the helicopter, D talked to him.

"I am going with you in the field. I already know how to complete the next missions. It will be a walk in the park. Can I come with you, Boss?"

Venom nodded and asked one of the soldier to give a standard issue CAR-15 to D, which promptly refused.

Instead D took a rifle from his backpack.

It was a Grot rifle chambered in 5,45x39mm and fitted with a suppressor and a EoTech holographic sight.

"This is the rifle of the future. Modular, compact and with the possibility to change the caliber." explained D before asking.

"Are we going lethal or non-lethal?"

"Would be better if we can do it non-lethal." replied Venom.

"Then give me a Ruger Mk. 2 please."

Venom gave him the requested gun.

D was a bit unsatisfied that was not the integrally supressed variant but kept this for himself, smiled and thanked him.

Then they jumped on the chopper.

D greeted Pequod.

"Hi Pequod. I'm D. Can I request a frequent flyer card? I will be flying with this airline often."

Pequod laughed at the joke and gave D a thumb up. He was the designated pilot and wore a khaki pilot uniform with a white helmet, which had a Diamond Dog emblem.

This time, D was together with Venom on the way to Afghanistan.

The missions went smoothly.

D extracted the Spetnatz commander with exeptional skills.

Venom was amazed by the mysterious guy.

But he felt that something was off about him. What was his plan? Who was Quiet? What was so special about her?

Then other missions went also smoothly.

The eastern communication post? Destroyed without anyone suspecting anything.

But after extracting the Soviet cybernetic specialist and getting to the chopper, D said to Snake.

"The next mission will be about recovering a US made weapon used by the Hamid Mujaeeden before they get in Soviet hands. The job is from the CIA.

The weapon is a new (for you) missile system called "FIM-92 Stinger".

The missile is in Smasei Fort, hidden behind a crate.

Only one Hamid fighter will survive. He will be mute but will point the weapon's location on the map.

I will not come again. The Skulls again. You will meet Skull Face, which for some weird reasons will not kill you, leaving the dirty work to the Skulls.

You will meet also Tretj Rebenok; which is the kid you met in Dhekelia; and Sahelantropus.

So prepare a water gun. And don't forget a rocket launcher, the place is patrolled by enemy Hind gunships."

Snake appreciated the infos.

Snake proceeded with the mission and D's intel make it easier.

He wasn't surprised to see the psychic floating boy with his ginger hair and gas mask and to see the hideous man with the face covered in scars.

When Snake was aboard on the chopper, Kaz radioed him.

"Boss it just seems suspect.

How he knew Skull Face was there? And if he knew it, why didn't came with you and killed him?

Seems that didn't want to be seen by Skullface. D seems a suspect type. Watch out."

Kaz was hostile and paranoic towards D, since the two met officially.

D and Venom were coming back from the mission of destroying the eastern communication outpost.

Even if they were in company of the puppy that would become D-Dog, Kaz had a bad mood.

Kaz immediatly started question who D was and if was a Cypher spy.

Despite the reassurations made by D and the fact that he told him that Kaz was the most thrustworthy person in Mother Base and that he would give the intel about Cypher directly to him, this only increased Miller's suspects.

The missions continued and went perfectly.

The capture of the Soviet officers in Da Wialo Kallai went perfectly.

The tank convoy was easily destroyed by a rocket barrage from a armored vehicle that D had captured.

D even helped Venom destroy some BTR-80s during the Muhjaheeden offensive

But the best came after exctracting a Pashto prisoner named Malak.

After getting in the chopper and departing to Mother Base, Venom complimented D and his skills. He also told him that was a very useful ally in the field and that D's work made him change his mind about working alone.

D smiled but he was thinking about his plan.

The first part was almost completed.
