Chapter 2
After Olivia quickly went to the produce section, she spotted Megan right away and then dashed up to her.
Megan slightly jumped as to how quickly Olivia had seemly appeared from nowhere, and as she faced Olivia, she said, "You are about to give me a heart-attack, child."
Olivia disregarded what Megan had said and rambled out, "Grandmother, there are demons in this store. I saw one. He spoke to me." Since she had the cereal box in her right hand, she lifted up her left arm and continued to say, "Look. I still have goosebumps from encountering him."
"Olivia, if there were demons here, then people would be screaming and running away," Megan pointed out.
"They don't know to scream or to run away," Olivia replied. "The demons are pretending to be human and are wearing disguises. The one I encountered looks human."
"If you encountered a demon that looks human, then how do you know that he's a demon?" Megan asked as if to make Olivia to think logically.
Olivia indicated to the box that she held while saying, "He helped me to get this box of cereal from a high shelf and I touched his hand when he was handing me the box. And when I touched him, I was given visions of what he truly was. Grandmother, he's some kind of wolf demon."
"A werewolf?" Megan questioned incredulously.
Olivia shrugged while saying, "Maybe, but he didn't look like any Hollywood werewolf." She then described what she saw, and while she was speaking, she placed the cereal box in the cart.
Megan heard Olivia out before saying, "Sweetie, I am convinced that you are psychically seeing something, but I don't believe that you are seeing demons or werewolves."
"But I am seeing demons, Grandmother," Olivia insisted.
"Sweetie, I have a feeling that for whatever reason, you are seeing the inner personality that dwells inside all of us," Megan continued after the slight interruption. "Since our inner personalities don't have faces, I believe you are giving them faces within your dreams and visions, and it makes sense that the inner personalities of malicious people will come across as demons to you."
"That's not what's happening, Grandmother," Olivia replied. "I am seeing actual demons."
"Okay, well, assuming that there are in fact demons disguised as humans, there is no way for anyone to distinguish them from us; therefore, there is nothing that you or I can do about it," Megan replied.
"There has to be some kind of way to get these demons to show their true faces," Olivia commented.
"Olivia, if there are demons here, then they aren't hurting anyone at the moment, so let sleeping dogs lie," Megan ordered.
"Shouldn't you say, 'let sleeping demons lie'… although they aren't sleeping," Olivia replied.
"And no one is hurting anyone," Megan pointed out. "Now just stick with me while we are here."
"Fine," Olivia replied.
As Megan slowly pushed her cart down aisle after aisle and putting only what she wanted to purchase into the cart, Olivia looked into everyone's face as she casually followed.
After being in the store for about ten minutes, Ben joined them with a few items that he wanted to get.
As Megan, Ben and Olivia moved into the freezer section, Olivia saw Monroe browsing the frozen foods. Olivia's attention and Monroe's attention were then drawn to a man as he called out for Monroe.
"Clark? Wow, I haven't seen you for nearly fifteen years," Monroe told the man as the two approached one another.
"So how is thing with you?" Clark asked Monroe.
"Things are great," Monroe began. "I'm married to a lovely woman named Rosalee. We have six-year-old triplets—two boys and a girl, and Rosalee and I own Exotic Spice & Tea Shop. What about you?"
"Olivia, if you want any specific dinners, you should go get them," Megan told her and pulling Olivia's attention from Monroe and Clark.
Ben was already at one of the freezer doors while picking out what he wanted.
"I don't know what's here," Olivia said with a shrug.
"Then go look," Megan strongly urged.
"Fine," Olivia replied before glancing at Monroe and Clark.
Olivia then took a breath before joining Ben at the freezer door.
After another fifteen minutes in the store, Megan, Ben and Olivia were walking away from the cashier who had checked them out. Monroe had left the store minutes before they did.
Once Megan, Ben and Olivia were in the car, Olivia looked up Exotic Spice & Tea Shop on her smartphone and memorized the address to the shop.
Across town, Nick and Erica interviewed the last of Professor Knight's colleagues around 11:45 A.M., and they couldn't identify any of them as being a triclops.
After Nick and Erica left the last house, they returned to the police station to do research on Professor Knight's students from the past few years.
At David and Megan's house, Megan, Ben and Olivia unloaded the groceries from the car.
After Olivia helped to put up the groceries, she—without her smartphone—went to the U-Haul trailer and began opening boxes.
Olivia had opened four boxes before Ben stepped up to the trailer door and asked, "What are you doing in here?"
Olivia was facing away from the entrance to the trailer and slightly jumped when Ben spoke.
"I'm looking for Dad's digital camera," Olivia replied before moving onto a fifth box.
"Why do you want Dad's camera?" Ben asked.
"I want to explore Portland and I'm going to take pictures when I do," Olivia replied before opening the fifth box.
"You know Portland," Ben replied.
"Not well," Olivia replied before looking into the box. "And since we are now going to be living in Portland, I want to familiar myself with it."
"Portland is a nice size city and Mom isn't going to allow you to go just anywhere by yourself," Ben pointed out.
"I'll stick around here; I won't go far," Olivia lied as she spotted the camera. "Uh-ha, I found Dad's camera. Let Grandmother know that I'll be around the neighborhood."
"Grandmother told me to tell you that she's cooking a pizza for us for lunch," Ben informed as Olivia was leaving the trailer.
"Okay. I'll eat when I get back," Olivia replied. "I'm not all that hungry anyway."
"And when will you be back?" Ben asked.
Olivia considered her answer before saying, "An hour to two… three hours if I find things worthy to photograph."
"I'm telling Grandmother that you will be back in an hour, and you better not make me into a liar," Ben replied.
"You better tell Grandmother two hours then," Olivia retorted while moving down the sidewalk. "Because there's a high chance that you will come across as a liar if you tell her one."
"Fine I'll tell her two hours, but you had better be back in two hours," Ben told Olivia as she continued to put distance between her and him.
"I'll see you in a couple of hours," Olivia replied. She then said under her breath, "Maybe even three."
Olivia walked to the end of the block, and as she was approaching a bus stop, she looked back to see if Ben was watching; however, she failed to notice that Connie Baxter (one of Megan's neighborhood friends) was watching her from her window.
When Olivia saw that Ben wasn't looking, she waited at the bus stop for the bus; however, she didn't have to wait long for it to arrive.
When the driver to the bus drove up and opened the door, Olivia told the driver, "I want to get to 402 NW Fulton Street. Is this the bus I need to be on?"
"It's one of the buses you will need to take," the driver told Olivia before telling her about the two other buses that she needed to take.
"Thanks for the information," Olivia replied before pulling out some money from her front pocket for the bus fare.
After taking three buses and walking one block down Fulton Street, Olivia was approaching Exotic Spice & Tea Shop. She then—while a hundred feet from the door—stopped in her tracks when a young man left the shop while carrying a store bag.
Olivia considered her options for a moment, and after deciding on what to do, she crossed to the opposite side of the street from the spice shop and set up a position behind a parked car. She then readied the camera and pointed it towards the front door of the spice shop.
Within a short time, Nick—with Erica in the passenger seat—drove his car past the spice shop while looking for street parking, but the closest available street parking was a few cars' length from the shop and on the same side that Olivia was on.
Nick made the U-turn where he could and took the closest available parking space. After Nick and Erica got out, Erica spotted Olivia while squatting behind the parked car and looking through the camera.
Erica quietly waved to get Nick's attention and when she had it, she gestured for him to be quiet and then gestured towards Olivia.
As quietly as they could, Nick and Erica stepped up behind Olivia and after watching her for only a moment, Erica cleared her throat.
Olivia looked towards Nick and Erica, and when she saw that they were detectives, she stood upright.
"Detectives. Hi," Olivia replied in a caught red-headed manner.
"Wow," Erica replied in an impressed tone. "You actually knew to call us detectives and not officers."
"My dad is a detective…" Olivia shook her head slightly before continuing to say, "Was a detective, I mean, and he would get slightly irked when someone would call him an officer."
"We may know your dad," Nick replied. "What's his name?"
"I doubt that you two know him," Olivia replied. "He was a detective in Twin Falls, Idaho. But to answer your question, his name was Daniel Cain."
Nick quickly caught the past tense and questioned, "His name was Daniel Cain? Is your dad deceased?"
Olivia nodded slightly before remorsefully saying, "He was killed sixteen days ago while trying to arrest someone."
"I'm sorry about your dad," Nick sincerely said. "Anyway, what is your name?"
"Olivia. Olivia Cain," she replied. "What are your names?"
"I'm Detective Nick Burthardt," he replied.
"And I'm Detective Erica Espinosa," she added. "Anyway, Olivia, why are you pointing a camera at the spice shop?"
"Oh, um, I'm taking photos for school," Olivia claimed.
"High school is out for the summer in Portland, and I'm fairly certain that it's out in Twin Falls as well," Nick replied.
"It's a summer project that has to be turn in when school starts up again," Olivia claimed.
"Try again, but this time I would like to hear the truth," Nick replied. "Why are you taking pictures of the spice shop?"
"Actually, I hadn't taken any pictures yet," Olivia claimed. "And a picture of the spice shop isn't really what I want a picture of."
"So what do you want a picture of?" Nick asked.
Olivia pursed her lips for a moment before saying, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"Try us," Erica urged. "We might surprise you."
Olivia again pursed her lips for a moment before sighing and saying, "I ran into the owner of the spice shop at Katco earlier. I learned a short time later from overhearing another customer that his name is Monroe. Anyway, Monroe helped me to get down a box of cereal that was above my head. He handed me the cereal box and I touched his hand when I took it, and I swear that when I touched him, I was given mental images of him shape-shifting into a demon."
"Did you actually see Monroe shapeshift?" Erica quickly asked as she woged to where a Grimm or another Wesen could only see her.
Nick looked at Olivia as if to assess her worth.
Olivia shook her head before saying, "I didn't actually see him shapeshift. I had a waking dream… or visions of him shape-shifting."
"Olivia, in these visions, what exactly did you see?" Nick questioned as he looked towards Erica. Erica was returning herself to her human form.
"I saw him changing into a wolfman and throwing himself through a window," Olivia began. "And the vision continued to show other times when he had shapeshifted into a wolfman."
"Olivia, how often do you get visions of people shapeshifting?" Nick questioned.
"That's the first time I had a vision of a person shapeshifting, but I would dream of demons since the night of my fifteenth birthday and I had turned fifteen on March 24th. And my dad was killed sixteen days ago by a fire demon, but no one will believe me."
"Olivia, did you have a dream of your dad being killed by a fire demon?" Erica asked, as if for varication.
Olivia nodded before saying, "I did, and I told him and Mom about my dream too. I then told them about my other dreams of people being killed by demons. They didn't believe me though, and when I was insistent, my mom attempted to force me to take a psychiatric drug. Oh, and my mom is a psychiatrist, so she can prescribe them. Anyway, when I refused to take them, she put me in the hospital for a mental evaluation, and during my first night in the hospital, my dad was killed in a fire."
"Are you on psychiatric drug at the moment?" Erica asked.
"No. Dr. Sturgeon—the doctor who evaluated me—released me after seventy-two hours with a clean mental health," Olivia replied. "I don't know why though, because I told him the truth about me dreaming of demons. He had even asked me to describe a few of them and I did. After I described six of them, he sketched me a picture based on the sixth demon I described him, which was also a wolf type demon. He then—after sketching the picture—had asked me if I was related to Marie Kessler, and as far as I knew I wasn't and..." Olivia stopped talking when she saw that Nick was staring at her as if she had just raised the dead. "What?"
"I believe I know why Dr. Sturgeon didn't think that you were psychotic," Nick replied.
"Why?" Olivia asked.
Nick considered his words before saying, "Olivia, your dreams and visions are correct; however, you are not dreaming of demons. You are dreaming about Wesen."
"Wesen?" Olivia echoed curiously.
"Wesen are people who are half human and half beast," Nick began. "And like all people, Wesen can be good or evil."
"How do you know this?" Olivia quickly asked.
"Because I can see Wesen for what they truly are when everyone else sees normal humans," Nick replied.
"So you can step into a crowd of people and see who are fully human and who are Wesen?" Olivia asked.
"Actually, I can only see Wesen for what they truly are when they are emotional in some way," Nick clarified. "So when a Wesen is calm and relax, they will appear human to me as well."
"How come you can see the beast half of a Wesen when everyone else can only see the human half of a Wesen?" Olivia questioned.
"Because I'm a Grimm," Nick replied. "And before you ask, a Grimm is someone who can see into the heart of darkness. Someone who sees things other people don't understand. And we protect the community from unruly Wesen."
"How does a person become a Grimm?" Olivia quickly asked.
"Being a Grimm is completely hereditary," Nick replied. "My mom was a Grimm and so was Marie Kessler—my mom's sister."
"Oh," Olivia let out as if facts had dawned on her. "So if Dr. Sturgeon knew a Grimm, he might have known about Wesen as well. So he might have thought that I was a Grimm."
"Exactly," Nick replied with a grin. "Anyway, I actually know Monroe and his wife Rosalee." Nick indicated to himself and Erica as he continued to say, "The two are actually good friends of ours, and they help us out on finding unruly Wesen."
"Ooh," Olivia uttered before indicating to the camera. "And I'm here looking to expose your friend as a wolfman."
Nick amusingly grinned before saying, "He's actually prefers to be called a Blutbad over a wolfman. Anyway, I would like to show you books on Wesen and see if you could identity any of them from your dreams."
"Okay, sure," Olivia said with a shrug. "Where are the books?"
"Currently they are in the spice shop," Nick replied. "However, if you are not comfortable with going into the spice shop, I can always bring a few of them out."
"If Monroe is a friend of yours, then I should be safe," Olivia replied as if to apply reason to her worded train of thought. "I'll go in."
"Okay, then follow me," Nick replied before leading the way across the street.
Olivia followed Nick as Erica followed Olivia.
"Olivia, you indicated that you were from Twin Falls," Erica began before Nick could reach the door. "Are you visiting Portland?"
"My mom and my brother and I have moved to Portland," Olivia replied. "We arrived yesterday, and we will be living with my grandparents until Mom can find a house or an apartment for us to move into."
"Where do your grandparents live?" Erica asked as Nick was opening the door to the spice shop.
Olivia was answering Erica's question as she followed Nick into the store.
Rosalee was near the counter while doing inventory and Monroe was in the back room while carrying a box towards the front room.
"Nick; Erica. Good afternoon," Rosalee greeted.
"Good afternoon," Nick and Erica echoed.
"Had you have any luck finding that mentally impaired person?" Rosalee asked as Monroe carried the box from the back room to the front room.
"We're still looking," Nick replied as Monroe locked eyes with Olivia.
"Hey, I know you," Monroe told Olivia before putting the box down. "Well, I don't know you, but you were at Katco earlier. I got the cereal box down for you from the tall shelf."
"Yes, I remember," Olivia replied with a polite grin.
"Weird that you know Nick and Erica," Monroe took note of.
"Actually Nick and I just met Olivia outside," Erica replied. "We caught her pointing her camera at your shop."
"Olivia, why were you taking pictures of my shop?" Rosalee was the one to ask.
"Actually, I hadn't taken a picture yet, but I was planning to take a picture of him," Olivia told Rosalee while gesturing towards Monroe.
"Why were you going to take a picture of me?" Monroe asked.
"I thought that you were a demon," Olivia replied. "I wanted to prove to my mom that demons exist, so I was outside and hoping to catch you when you shape-shift into a wolfman."
"Nick, is Olivia another Grimm?" Rosalee asked as Monroe stepped closer to Olivia and woged to where a Grimm or another Wesen could only see him.
As with Erica, Olivia didn't react to Monroe.
"Olivia's not a Grimm," Nick replied as Monroe was changing back to his human form. "However, I have a strong feeling that she's a psychic and her psychic dreams has zeroed in on the Wesen community."
"If that's the case, she's more than a psychic," Monroe replied.
"What do you mean?" Nick quickly asked.
"Olivia is a witness," Monroe replied. When Nick glanced at Erica, she shrugged as if she didn't know. "And if that's the case, Nick, it's a good thing that you found her before someone from the Wesen community did."
"What do you mean that Olivia's a witness?" Nick questioned.
"Just what I said," Monroe replied. "Witnesses are psychics who dream about the Wesen community, and after waking up from their dreams, they are compelled to write out the details of their dreams. A witness will even get irritable if he or she is unable to write about his or her dream for some reason. So how many Wesen have you wrote about so far, Olivia?"
Olivia thought for a moment before saying, "About twenty-two. I would have to check my dream journal to know for sure."
Monroe nodded before asking, "And how old are you?"
"I'm fifteen, and I had turned fifteen on March 24th," Olivia replied.
"And I'm willing to bet that your dreams started sometime in the second week of April," Monroe wagered.
"No, actually my first dream was on the morning of March 25th," Olivia replied.
"You had a dream the morning after your fifteenth birthday? Wow," Monroe replied in a slightly surprised tone. "I never heard of a witness becoming one that quickly after their fifteenth birthday. Anyway, besides us, who all knows about you writing about the Wesen community?"
"My mom, my brother, my grandparents, Dr. Sturgeon and maybe a few nurses and orderlies at the hospital where I was being mentally evaluated," Olivia replied.
"Why were you being mentally evaluated?" Rosalee asked.
Olivia took a breath before telling Monroe and Rosalee about the dream she had of her dad; about how she had made failed attempts to warn her dad of his death by the hands of a fire demon (Wesen); about how her parents had placed her in the hospital for a mental evaluation and about how Dr. Sturgeon had released her seventy-two hours later with a clean mental health.
Monroe had appeared puzzled when Olivia spoke about the prediction that she had about her dad, and once Olivia was done talking, Nick asked Monroe why he was puzzled.
"I'm puzzled because what I know about witnesses, witnesses are to dream of Wesen events as they happen; not before they happen," Monroe replied. "I mean, I'm certain that Olivia is a witness, but she's acting more like a… well, for the lack of a better description, she's acting more like a harbinger than a witness. In any case, Olivia, no more people need to learn about your dreams, because if the wrong Wesen finds out, you will be killed."
"I don't know why one would want to kill me," Olivia replied. "I only see them in their Wesen form when I dream about them. So it's not like I can point one out while he or she appears human."
"Be that as it may, there are Wesen out there who don't like being spied on or wrote about," Monroe replied. "So be careful."
Olivia nodded with a polite grin while saying, "I will."
"Olivia, if you don't dream of Wesen in their human form, then why did you think that Monroe was a demon?" Rosalee asked.
"When Monroe handed me the box of cereal, my fingers touched his hand, and when we touched, I was given mental images of him shapeshifting into a… well, into a Blutbad."
"So you get visions as well as dreams?" Monroe questioned.
"Today I did," Olivia replied.
"So today was the first day you were given a vision?" Monroe asked as if for clarification. Olivia nodded. "As far as I know, witnesses don't get visions, so, you're definitely a new breed of witnesses."
Olivia grinned just before Nick told her, "Anyway, Olivia, I would like to show you my books."
"Yes, I want to see them," Olivia replied eagerly.
"Follow me," Nick said before walking towards the stairs that led into the basement.
Olivia followed Nick into the basement and to the Grimm journals while Monroe and Erica followed Olivia.
"Described the Wesen that had killed your dad in your dream," Nick told Olivia.
"He… she… or it looked similar to one of those reptile humanoid aliens that one would see on Star Trek," Olivia informed. "And it belched out fire as if it was a dragon."
Nick nodded before selecting one of the books that he had personally created and flipped to a certain page.
"Does this look anything like what you saw in your dream?" Nick asked as he showed Olivia a drawing of a male Damonfeuer.
Olivia stared quietly at the page for a moment before saying in a small voice, "That looks exactly like what I saw in my dream."
"I had a feeling," Nick replied before taking out his phone. "The Wesen that killed your dad is called a Damonfeuer. I encountered about five of them since I became a Grimm."
"Could one of them be responsible for my dad's death?" Olivia asked as Nick scrolled through his phonebook.
"Two of them are dead," Nick replied in a certain tone. "They died over eight years ago. I can't say one way or the other about the other three; however, I'm fairly certain that there are a lot more Damonfeuer out there who could have killed your dad as well."
"Okay, well, knowing which Wesen had killed my dad doesn't help or solve anything," Olivia commented in a bitter tone. "Twin Falls police is looking for an ordinary arsonist and not a Damonfeuer. So the Damonfeuer is just going to keep getting away with burning down buildings."
"Not if I have a say in it," Nick replied as he pressed the 'call' option.
"How are you going to do anything about it while you're in Portland?" Olivia asked.
Nick gestured for Olivia to wait a second while saying into his phone, "Trubel, it's Nick. I'm good. Hey, are you too busy to go to Twin Falls, Idaho? Super. There's a Damonfeuer in Twin Falls who has killed at least once, and this Damonfeuer might even be responsible for burning down seven buildings and the deaths related to those seven burned down buildings in Twin Falls as well during the past nine months. Terrific. Thanks. Bye."
As Nick was ending his call, Olivia told him, "I have two questions. Question one, is 'trouble' someone's actual name? And question two, how do you know that seven buildings had burned down during the past nine months in Twin Falls while you're in Portland?"
Nick grinned before saying, "Answer one, Trubel—T-R-U-B-E-L—is her nickname. Her actual name is Theresa Rubel…"
"Oh, I get it," Olivia replied. "She goes by T-Rubel—Trubel."
Nick nodded with a grin before saying, "Answer two, major news networks have been covering the story of a serial arsonist in Twin Falls for a couple of months. Also the brother to one of the officers in my unit is an arson investigator in Twin Falls. And the answer to the question that you didn't think to ask yet, Trubel is a Grimm."
Olivia thought for a moment before making note of, "So Trubel is one of your relatives."
Nick again nodded with a grin before saying, "She and I are third cousins. Anyway, Olivia would you like to see what the other Wesen look like?"
"I would," Olivia replied.
Nick flipped to the first page to the journal that he first grabbed and moved it for Olivia to see.
Olivia looked at the drawing, which was a blutbad.
"This is what I saw when I had a vision of Monroe shapeshifting," Olivia informed.
"Yes," Nick replied. "That drawing is of a blutbad."
"Who drew the image?" Olivia asked.
"I drew the images in that book," Nick replied. "In fact, I wrote that particular book, and the book is based on the Wesen that I had personally encountered."
Olivia turned to the next image and when she saw the sketch of a Jagerbar, she said, "Wow, you have artistic skills."
"All Grimms can draw like that," Nick replied before picking up one of older books that was from another Grimm. "Here's one of the books that I had acquired after becoming a Grimm."
After Olivia took the book, she placed it down on top of the opened book and opened it as well. After looking at the sketch, she saw that the writing about the Wesen wasn't in English.
As Olivia turned the page, she commented, "This book is in German. Can you speak German?"
"I can't," Nick replied.
"I can though," Monroe added.
Olivia slowly flipped through page after page of the top book, and after Olivia saw drawing of ten different Wesen, Nick asked, "Olivia, where does your mom believe you are right now?"
"My mom went to work with my grandfather this morning. He's too a psychiatrist," Olivia began. "However, my grandmother and brother are home and they think that I'm familiarizing myself within the neighborhood and taking pictures."
"And how long have you been gone from the house?" Nick asked.
"I left around noontime," Olivia replied. "What time is it now?"
"It's about 12:55 P.M.," Nick replied while glancing at his watch. "Is there a specific time you are to be home?"
"Ben—my brother—thinks that he can order me around just because he's older than me and he had ordered me to come home at 2:00 P.M., but I honestly don't care if I get home by 2:00 P.M. or by 5:00 P.M." Olivia replied.
"Yes, well, let's avoid your grandmother from calling 9-1-1 to report you missing," Nick replied. "So in a few minutes, I'll drive you home."
"It's going to take me more than a few minutes to look at and read the book that you wrote," Olivia told Nick.
"My point in showing you the books wasn't for you to read them," Nick replied.
"I want to though," Olivia quickly informed.
"Yes, well that's actually a problem," Nick replied. "Because I don't want you here without your mom's permission, but, at the same time, I don't want your mom learning about the books either."
"Mom wouldn't believe any of this anyway," Olivia replied before moving onto the next page.
"And since your mom and grandfather are psychiatrists, I would like to avoid them trying to declare me mentally unfit," Nick added.
"Fine, I'll just look at as much as I can now," Olivia replied before flipping to the next page.
While Olivia was engrossed with the book, Nick made a head gesture for Monroe to move away from the table by a couple of feet, and when Monroe moved, so did Nick and Erica.
"Monroe, I actually came by to ask you and Rosalee to put feelers out about where I could find triclops," Nick told him.
"Of course, we'll do what we can," Monroe replied.
"You should check out karaoke bars," Olivia simply said.
"And what do you know about karaoke bars?" Erica questioned.
"Only what I see on TV, but last night, the theme of my dream was about a bar full of Wesen singing karaoke," Olivia replied.
"The karaoke bar that you dreamed about has to be the Sailor's Moon," Monroe replied. "Edward is the owner and he's having a karaoke contest that starts tonight and ends Wednesday, and Wesen are only allowed to enter the bar."
"I wouldn't mind a little karaoke tonight,' Erica commented.
Olivia looked towards Erica before asking, "You're Wesen?"
"I am," Erica admitted. "I'm a Balam."
Olivia gestured for her to wait before backtracking to a certain page and showing it to Erica.
"Is this the Wesen you are?" Olivia asked.
"Yes, that is what I woge into," Erica confirmed.
"Wow," Olivia replied in an impressed tone. "What kind of Wesen is Rosalee?"
"She's a Fuchsbau," Monroe replied.
"I haven't seen a Fuchsbau, yet," Olivia replied as she continued to the next page that she hadn't seen yet.
"If I remember right, a picture of a Fuchsbau is in the bottom book," Monroe told her.
"Okay, thanks," Olivia replied before swapping books and flipping through the pages.
"Monroe, if you and Rosalee would like to accompany Erica, Adalind and I can watch the triplets," Nick told him.
"I might be able to talk Rosalee into it," Monroe replied as Nick's phone and Erica's phone chimed to indicate that they each had a text message.
Erica looked at her text message seconds before Nick did.
"I got a message from Wu," Erica announced.
"Same here," Nick replied as he looked at his text message. Olivia found the page that showed a Fuchsbau and stared at it for several seconds before moving onto the next page. "Monroe, you, Rosalee and Erica might not have to go out tonight after all. Wu found a possible suspect for Professor Knight's death."
Monroe shrugged before saying, "Rosalee hinted about finding a babysitter and going to 'Sailor's moon' between now and Wednesday, so we might end up there anyway."
"And I might end up there tonight as well regardless if it's for our case or not," Erica added.
"Okay, well, Monroe. Erica and I need to go interview the suspect," Nick replied. "Which means, Olivia, you will be leaving the spice shop with us so we can take you home."
"I could always take the bus back to my neighborhood," Olivia replied.
"I am not leaving you here," Nick replied. "So let's go."
"Fine," Olivia replied before grabbing her camera and moving away from the books. "I'm ready."
"Olivia, it was nice to officially meet you," Monroe replied.
"Nice to meet you," Olivia replied before indicating to the camera. "And I'm sorry that I was planning to out you as a demon."
"Don't worry about it," Monroe replied.
"Let's go," Nick told Olivia.
Olivia led the way to the stairs. After reaching the front room to the shop, Nick, Erica and Olivia exchanged their parting pleasantries with Monroe and Rosalee. Nick, Erica and Olivia then left the shop.
Olivia got into the back seat behind Erica, and when Nick drove away, Olivia asked, "Detective Burthardt, can you teach me to draw?"
"I'm a policeman, a Grimm, a husband and a father, and I barely find time to fill those roles," Nick began. "So you will have to find someone else, Olivia, to teach you how to draw."
"Fine," Olivia replied in a disappointed tone.
