When dinner came, she was surprised to find that there had been no sign of Sirius, though she was grateful, as she felt very strong in what she had been learning. She was devastated at first by this news, but she soon felt empowered and had requested a dueling room from Kreacher.
She took two books to her room after dinner, she stretched and meditated, to help her occlumency. Although she was also practicing legilimency it was difficult without another present. Her new goals were to learn and perfect everything she was learning and if anyone questioned her, it was to save Harry, not her own life. She was grateful to have been blessed with a photographic memory, her notes were also meticulous, in code, and in a combination of runes and french.
The next morning, she rose early, summoning Kreacher for tea and a high protein breakfast as well as somewhere to run. She ate, stretched, meditated, and went for a run. She completed her morning routine of a shower, reciting the facts of apparation in her mind.
Sirius had apparently flipped his schedule so they didn't have to see one another, which suited her just fine, she wasn't ready to leave yet, too much valuable information. She met Kreacher in the dueling room, and after some test magic, determining the trace was truly gone, they began, when she apparated for the first time Kreacher gave her tea and chocolate, it was just to the other side of the room and back but she had done it. She had lunch then practiced some more, she needed to apparate silently, and it was dinner when she finally mastered it.
The rest of the week progressed much of the same, dueling, apparating, and studying, her spell and charm list became massive, a mix of dark and light spells, she had made potions with the help of Kreacher, medical ones, and a healthy supply of polyjuice. While looking through the cluttered rooms she had found a beautiful bag and she charmed it to be lightweight and extended, it was where she kept everything; Kreacher had told her it belonged to a favorite Mistress Black.
Though she was getting stronger and her knowledge becoming vast with additions and modifications to spells that she had created, She had seen Sirius more and more. Worried that he was becoming more anxious and paranoid over her, she started changing the titles of the books to muggle romance ones in an effort to deter him.
Kreacher met her in the dueling room with lunch one afternoon, informing her that Sirius was talking with Dumbledore again, about her, so he took her to listen.
"I am telling you she's getting stronger, she's been using the dueling room and has gone through so many books in the library, I am worried."
"Sirius, I am sure it is just in preparation, she knows how important Harry is, Have you talked to her at all?"
"No, I had been avoiding her, but now I am trying to catch her doing something suspicious"
"For Merlin's sake Sirius, call Kreacher,'' Dumbledore said angrily.
As Sirius called Kreacher, he deposited Hermione in the dueling room and went to the kitchen.
"Filthy master calls Kreacher"
"Where is Hermione?"
"Mudblood is in the dueling room," and with that he popped away, to warn her.
"Mistress Calliope, they are coming down."
"You know what to do if they attack me, Thank you Kreacher for everything."
He smiled and shimmered out of view into a corner, while she raised her shields, cast an aguamenti on herself, and began to fire simple spells and curses to warm up. When her wards tingled, she let them down and kept practicing.
"Miss Granger, I am sorry to interrupt you but I wanted to speak to you."
"Of course Headmaster, what can I do for you"
"You've been training and reading quite a bit, may I ask why?"
"Well, with you-know-who not really making any moves, I am worried, so I wanted to get into shape, physically and mentally, in order to protect Harry and anyone else." As she spoke, she flooded her mind with protecting him and a nightmare where they get captured.
"Very well Miss Granger, I shall leave you to it, if you want to know anything more advanced please ask myself or Sirius."
"I actually was wondering if I may travel into muggle London, I am in need of some things?"
He hesitated only for a moment, "I do not think that would be an issue, just be back before dark."
"Of course Headmaster, thank you"
She made her way up to her room, to shower and get dressed. She did so quickly, grabbing her bag as she left, she had several stops to make. She called for Kreacher to let him know she was going out.
"Mistress Calliope, please be's safe"
"Of course Kreacher, can I bring you anything?"
"Oh no mistress, Kreacher does not deserve such kindness"
"Of course you do, I was wondering if I may ask you some questions when I return"
"Of course, just call if you need anything."
With that she left, she knew Sirius would probably follow her, so she made her way to the bank first. She withdrew all of the money from her account, closing it, and then drained her parents as well, she needed a cushion to be safe. After leaving, She went to Tesco to shop for some beauty and personal items. She made her way to a shopping mall to find something suitable for her.
She felt ready to ditch the plain muggle clothes, vowing to visit Twilfit and Tattings for more appropriate clothing. For now, she was able to find a shop that would be better for her; Long dresses, skirts, corsets, boots, and a cloak in a beautiful sapphire blue.
As she completed her shopping she could feel someone following her, and trying to breach her occlumency shields so she started filling her head with her parents and how sad she was. She combined bags and made her way to her parents' house. Once Calliope arrived, she cast several spells to make herself invisible, as well as notice-me-not charms. She accio'd several items from the house, gifts, things that she had wanted but had not had time to grab. Sighing in resignation that these people would have to die, she removed the fidelius charm and other wards from the house, hoping that the Malfoy's or whoever had been following her would figure it out.
