It was a long day at the Resistance base for Amy Rose. Everyone else had gone to bed, but the leader of the Resistance was pouring over the documents she had collected. Tails had recently hacked into an Eggman terminal, and while there wasn't much information that he could gleam at that moment, it was vital to get every step ahead that they could, even if it was just one. She pushed her hand through her hair, a quiet sigh escaping her lips. Most of the information was on patrol routines, and while she wasn't as tech-savvy as Tails, she knew what military time was, and could translate it with some effort. She had a notebook open next to her, and she scribbled down Berry Street to Grove Road. 10:00 to 11:00 as quickly as she could, and skipped down to the next line.

"Ms. Amy?" A young voice asked, and the pink hedgehog turned her head to see the young rabbit Cream. She hadn't joined the Resistance despite wanting to because she was too young, but still helped out where she could. Vanilla raised her well, Amy thought to herself as she looked at Cream. "What are you doing up so late…?" Her quiet and polite voice struck Amy's heart, and the hammer-wielding girl got up from her seat and paced over to Cream, kneeling down in front of her with a tired smile.

"I could ask the same thing. What are you doing up so late?" Amy asked in a voice that was as soft and gentle as the girl before her.

"I had a bad nightmare...about Mr. Sonic…" Cream's voice shuddered, like she was about to cry, and Amy had no words as her smile disappeared into a concerned frown as the cream-colored rabbit continued. "I dreamed that he was badly hurt, in a place that we couldn't get to him, and I wanted to help, but I wasn't strong enough…" The rabbit sniffled, clearly disturbed by the scene she was mentioning, and Amy pulled the rabbit forward into her arms in a hug.

"It's okay Cream. We're all worried about Sonic, too. Tell you what," She pulled back from the hug with that same smile that she had earlier. "Why don't we ask the tarot cards about Sonic?" Cream seemed to brighten at the fact that Amy would break out the old tarot cards that her own mother gave her, and nodded quickly, wiping tears from her eyes. Amy dug around in her dress' pockets, and pulled out a small leather bag that was tied off. She untied it and pulled out the tarot cards in question, and started shuffling them, walking over towards the table with Cream following closely and eagerly behind.

Amy pushed away what she was working on and pulled a seat out for Cream to watch, which the young rabbit jumped into, her head tilted over to the side as she watched Amy continue to shuffle before laying out the cards. "Now then Cream, you remember how this works?" Amy asked, and Cream nodded with what looked to be a forced smile. Even at this young of an age, Cream was trying to mask what she felt, but Amy was able to see through it. She knew Cream was concerned for someone she viewed as an older brother, and so, she sought to try and settle both her own nerves and Cream's as well. "Okay, it'll just be a few seconds." She set out the cards one by one, a total of seventy-eight cards being laid out on the table as the rabbit watched in total silence. Amy sat down and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath in to focus herself. In about a minute, she opened her eyes and lazily scanned the cards before one stood out to her. She nabbed it immediately and flipped it over.

"Seven of Wands." Amy announced, her heart sinking ever so slightly.

"What's that mean, Ms. Amy?" The rabbit asked with curiosity clearly lining her voice. Amy smiled just a little bit and rubbed the top of Cream's head.

"Sonic's fighting really hard right now, Cream. He hasn't given up hope, and this card means that neither should we." Amy answered. She gave one last hug to Cream, trying herself not to cry over what the tarot cards had told her, and pulled back. "Do you feel any better now?" The rabbit nodded, and hugged Amy back quickly and tightly.

"I do. Thank you, Ms. Amy!" Cream pulled back from the hug that she had given and ran off towards the direction of the resting quarters, and Amy sighed quietly. She gathered up her tarot cards, one by one, and placed them back in her pouch.

"...I hope you win this fight too, Sonic…" Amy whispered to herself as she lightly clasped her tarot cards in her hand. "We miss you."
