Was inspired to write a story due to the new Space Jam movie releasing this year and all the controversy surrounding it.
Looney Tunes Characters are property of Warner Bros.
Am using Space Jam 1996 version of Lola Bunny.

Numerous toons seemingly in their pre-teens were getting ready in the locker room putting on their basketball uniforms. In the corner of the locker room a bunny tail pops out of the back of the shorts while a jersey with the number 85 came down a cream colored torso.
"Ok guys bring it in…" Said a female voice from behind them.
They looked behind them to see a female bunny with tan fur and cream colored tuft of hair. She was sporting a turquoise colored track suit.
The team gathered in to listen.
" Ok guys this is a tough team we're playing, but if remember to work together." Lola said looking at the young bunny who's color scheme perfectly matched hers. " We can win. This is a new season and I can tell you've all put the work in. It's time to show them what we can do!"
The team broke huddle excitedly and exited the locker room.
" Benny…" Lola said catching the attention of the young bunny. " Remember what I said this morning."
" Yea Mom, I got it." He said as he left.
As Benny ran through the hall he saw members of the opposite team taunting a small turtle.
" I cant believe you're on their team, you run ,like what , 2 miles an hour?" Said a bobcat in a silver jersey.
" Hey…" Benny said coming up to them.
" Butt out cotton tale, we're talking to your team mate not you."
" Well now you are talkin' to me doc."
" Go ahead and take your green little friend, we're gonna kill you guys."
" Yea, we'll see about that." Benny said.
-Later-
Benny was already setting the pace of the game by putting his team considerably in the lead. Lola stood at the sidelines observing. Deciding to have some fun, Benny slammed the ball on the ground and jumped up to dunk it.
" Hey so are we gonna get a game today? I thought you guys were gonna kill us."
" Benny, quit showing off!" Lola yelled.
Despite Lola's reprimand, the crowd cheered. Benny looked at her and shrugged as if to say it wasn't his fault he's so good.
Suddenly a member from the other team ran up to shoot the ball only to have Benny swat it away " Get that outta here!" He said
This behavior brought a look of shock on Lola's face.
In the stands Bugs was also surprised. It was nothing new that their son was competitive, but they had not seen him so aggressive.
As the game progressed the short tortoise, who was running much slower than the other players, had the ball. As he tried to shoot he saw that he was off target. That was when Benny grabbed it midair and slammed it in.
The Tortoise sighed in disappointment in himself for missing.
" It's ok Cecil! You're doing fine!" Lola called out.
Minutes passed and Benny was continuing to show boat and talk trash to the other team. Much to the dismay of his parents.
-Later-
Benny walked out with some of his team mates to see his dad standing there eating a carrot.
" I'll see you guys later!" Benny said as he walked up to Bugs. " Where's Mom?"
" Ehhh, in the gym which is where we're goin'." Bugs said pointing to the school.
" She's still in the gym? Why?" Benny asked.
" I think she needs to talk to you."
Moments later Bugs and Benny walked through the doors to see Lola leaning up against the wall sporting a crop top after removing her tracksuit jacket. At this point the gym was completely empty except for the 3 bunnies.
" Mom? What's going on?"
Lola picked up the basketball and walked toward her son.
" Check ball…" She said bouncing it to Benny.
Grabbing the ball confused Benny looked back at his father. Bugs went to sit on the bleachers.
Benny could understand now what was going on and checked the ball back to his mother. Lola then dribbled past her son and slammed the ball in.
"What were you even trying on that?" Lola said.
Benny stood still a moment, he then unzipped his hoodie and checked the ball to Lola.
" Check." Benny said as he got into his defensive stance. Lola continued to outwork her son and score against him while he struggled.
" Oh what am I going to get a game today? Can I get some competition?" Lola said, quoting some of the words her son had said that night.
Benny then ran for a layup only for Lola to swat it away.
" Get THAT out of here!" Lola said.
Benny was becoming frustrated, both at the fact that he is losing which he absolutely hates and that he understood why Lola was doing this. But he never backed down from a challenge on the court before, even if it was his own mother.
" Just play Mom…" Benny said.
" What ?" Lola asked.
" Just play…"
" Oh what? You don't like it when someone talks trash to you?"
As the game progressed it was obvious Benny was outclassed while Lola repeated most of the things he had said tonight. He bent over in exhaustion from the game as Lola looked at him.
" Do you think I'm being obnoxious ?" Lola said.
Benny looked at her still panting.
" Do you think I look like a jerk? Because that's how YOU looked tonight."
Benny grabbed the ball and stormed out the door.
-Meanwhile on Sports Center-
"Another instance has struck today of NBA players losing their ability to play, the latest victim being Kevin Durant. This is leaves one burning question as to who is next." The broadcaster said.
Watching the broadcast from a large flat screen, a long since retired Michael Jordan sat on his couch with a vivid look of concern on his face. He couldn't say for sure what was happening, but his instincts were telling him something, something that had been buried long ago was coming back.
-Back in Looney Tune Land-
Bugs and Lola were talking while their son was asleep.
" You think….I was too hard on him?" Lola asked.
" Nah, he'll forget about it in the mornin' you'll see."
" I just worry sometimes, I've never seen him that aggressive before." Lola said.
Bugs picked up a basketball on the couch. " Our son has got ehh-game…" He said spinning the ball.
" I know he's got ehh-game. No one knows how talented he is better than me. I think I might be the only one around who can beat him." Lola said. " But I worry he has the wrong attitude about the game. He's still kind of a ball hog and then there was all that trash talk today. That's not what I want him to take away from basketball. I don't care how good he is."
Lola sighed in exhaustion as she slumped over to Bugs' side, putting her head on his shoulder.
" He'll be ok. He wont get carried away with himself….we wont let him." Bugs then rested his against hers.
-The next morning-
Benny was performing his typical morning routine of playing basketball on the nearby court. As he made the next basket, he saw his mother under the hoop who caught the ball.
" Hi…" Lola said.
" Hey…" Benny responded.
" Your father and I are going for a hike and we were hoping you'd like to come."
Bugs was walking up with his hiking shoes on standing next to Lola.
Benny shrugged. " Ok…"
Later the Bunny family were on a hike trail up a hill.
" You know, your mother and I used to go hiking all the time." Bugs said. " Naturally she was already a pro at it."
" What about you?" Benny asked.
Bugs thought back to how he was gasping comically for air after hiking 50 feet.
" Not so much…" He said. " But after a while my legs got used to it."
" Really Pop?" Benny asked not believing his father.
" See for yourself…" Bugs legs suddenly swelled up like a professional body builder's would. The caused Lola to chuckle while Benny rolled his eyes.
Lola began walking beside her son. " Listen….I think… I was too hard on you last night."
Benny didn't respond, he just kept walking.
"Benny, don't think for a second I don't see how talented you are." Lola said. " You're also a leader, I know that. I just want you to know what's really important about the game."
Benny listened to his mothers words.
" Ya can be the most talented player in the world but still go down the wrong path son…" Bugs said.
Suddenly a sonic boom was heard in their vicinity, the 3 bunnies then saw a massive space ship enter their world flying over the hill. Bugs and Lola instinctively got in front of their son even while they were in shock themselves. The ship immediately flew past them and was heading for the central part of town.
" There's no way…." Lola said.
-In the central part of town-
Daffy Duck was in the process of getting thrown out of a restaurant.
" I've been thrown out of nice establishments than this." Daffy said, that was when he saw the ship heading into their town to land.
" No…No please tell me this isn't happening again!" Daffy then ran to the most famous ice cream shoppe in town "Out Of This World Ice Cream"
" Pound!" Daffy yelled as he slammed the door open.
In the ice cream shoppe we then see all the Nerdlucks serving ice cream while also working behind the counter. All wearing paper caps.
" Are you invading us again!?" Daffy demanded.
" What do you mean Daff?" Pound asked.
" Don't play innocent with me! One of your spaceships just arrived!"
-Later-
Tunes from all over the town came to observe the ship that had just landed.
" Don't worry.." Pound said. " I'll handle this."
Pound then approached the ship leading all the other Nerdlucks accompanying him. " Greetings visitors from Moron Mountain! I am Pound of the nam-" Suddenly then ship stairs slammed down to the ground on top of the Nerdlucks much to the shock of everyone.
" That went about as well as I could expect." Daffy said.
It was then the tall slender CEO of Moron Mountain made his appearance coming down the stairs. " Well hello there everyone." He said smoking a cigar. " What a pleasure to finally meet you."
