Chapter 2: New Family
When Liza Marie wakes up in Noah's arms she started to cry as she remembers what happened the night before. Soon Noah is awake and holding Liza Marie before Eric said, "Little She-Hulk, I'm sorry you lost your family." Then Brad says, "I hate that you lost your family, Little She-Hulk, and I wish I could change what happened. But think of it this way, you just gained more uncles and grandpas that know how to kick ass. Plus, you can do school online and nobody has to know you are here."
Then Liza Marie says, "Uncle Brad, I can't do everything online! Plus, hello? Don't you think they will say something when my homework is late a lot?! You guys really think no one will say anything or try to check on me?! This is nuts!" Soon Liza Marie is going through her backpack and says, "I only have enough clothes in here for a fucking week and I can't shower with you guys! Daddy is right I could get hurt! What the hell was I thinking risking my life only to be a goddamn orphan?! I mean come on! If Daddy dies I will have no one and all of you could be in serious trouble here!" Before Liza Marie can say anything else she is crying again.
At one point, Colonel Ryan Jamison says, "Little She-Hulk, General Young talked to me early this morning and I promised to keep you safe until we have to go back home. Plus, I am sure if I don't Puckerman will be going all Hulk on me and the guys." Before he can say another word Liza Marie jumps up and kicks him in the stomach saying, "Who will go all Hulk on you, sir?" Soon Colonel Jamison is coughing and says, "I stand corrected! Oh, Fuck, Puckerman. Keep her away from me, if you want to keep working under my command! Shit, I think she cracked a goddamn rib!" Which made the other men chuckle and Liza Marie say, "I doubt you want to hear me say what David and Bruce Banner say, sir. But I will say you asked for it and you know it, sir!"
Soon the other men are trying to stifle their laughter as Noah tries to hide behind Liza Marie. After Colonel Jamison glares at him before saying, "Little She-Hulk as long as you stay away from me we will be just fine here and I will try not to get on your bad side. God, twenty years without one injury and I feel like I got hit by a semi-truck or something! After one kick from her and Puckerman we all saw you ice your fucking arm after she hit you! So, you better hide behind her!" As soon as Colonel Jamison leaves the men bust out laughing and Brad says, " God, I have never seen Colonel Jamison like this! I think Little She-Hulk brought him to tears with that kick!"
After breakfast, Liza Marie was the first in the shower and Noah was standing guard. As Liza Marie washed, Noah heard her say, "I hate you, God. Why did you do this to me and Daddy? What did we do that was so bad, that you had to take our families from us?" Then she screams and Noah sees the scrub brush he gave her flying across the room. Before he turned around to see her crying in the floor and he turns off the showerhead she was using. Picking her up as the other men started to crowd around her and saying, "Back off guys! Unless you want to be her next target here!"
When they get back to their bunker Noah helps Liza Marie dress and noticed the anger in her eyes. Soon she is clenching her fists and getting red in the face before she breaks down crying. As Noah just holds her in his arms until she cries herself to sleep. Then he prays to God saying, "Lord, keep us safe here. We are all each other has here and I don't want anything else to happen to her here. The last twenty-four hours were Hell for us and I don't want her to go through any more pain here Lord. Please, protect us, Lord. Amen"
When Liza Marie woke up, Colonel Jamison was watching her and this makes her ask, "Do you really want to be in here with me, sir?" Colonel Jamison shakes his head no before saying, "Look, I'm sorry for what happened to your family, Little She-Hulk. But you better not take your anger out on my men. Okay? That includes your new Daddy too. Puckerman might get on my nerves, but he is a good man and I can't replace your Grandpa Burt here. Anyway, I just thought you should know I lost my granddaughter yesterday too. The real reason I didn't want to see you had nothing to do with you kicking my ass. It just hurt to know you lived and she didn't." Then Colonel Jamison breaks down as Liza Marie hugs him and says, "Do you want me to call you Colonel G' Pa now?" This makes him laugh and say, "You can call me whatever you want as long as you never try to kick my ass again. Oh, God, I can't even laugh because of you." This makes Liza Marie touch the spot where she kicked him and say, "Sorry, Colonel G' Pa, Haha." Before he gives her a noogy and she grabs his wrist as she glares at him. Soon they are both laughing and he takes her to where Noah is working.
