One second, she's ignoring all her police academy training telling to find some other way of protecting herself besides staying huddled up in the corner of her own bedroom her arms hugging around the growing child in her stomach while the current angry lover of her drunken one-night stand pounds on the front door of her apartment demanding entry after somehow tracking her down after she'd moved out of National City altogether following the final split with Lexie before a strange staticky red something washed over both her and her unborn baby the next instant Maggie is waking up to find that not only is she now much farther along in her pregnancy than she had been seconds before, but she was also back in National City with two framed pictures propped up on her bedside table as she pushes herself up from the bed.

The first was her favorite of her captured memories of her ex.

She and her then-girlfriend had been out getting a cup of coffee when they'd decided to stage the silly picture a kindly passerby had taken for them. Lexie's captured giggling smile as Maggie pressed a kiss to her cheek bringing a found smile of her own to Maggie's lips. "I miss her too little one." She sighed as her hand rubbed against the more defined swell of her stomach. Her daughter now kicking rather insistently under her hand.

Strange considering that not ten seconds before she would have bet money, she'd only been around six to seven weeks into her surprise pregnancy after that drunken one-night stand during Jessie's wedding that Kara had graciously stepped in to take Lexie's place so Maggie wouldn't have to go to alone after hearing about the rather nasty fight the pair had gotten into a few nights before the wedding itself.

Maggie should have known that when attending a wedding for a Green Lantern member not every tall, blonde, and cute in a pants suite woman was entirely as human as she projects. The resulting drunken night resulting not only with a killer hangover but also a pregnancy that Maggie hadn't been expecting even after Ava and come up to her before she'd left and suggested she get tested as soon as she was able.

The second image was a framed sonogram.

"Hey 203 you still with me?"

Maggie starts a little at the teasing question she also can't help but notice the way Alex's hand was fisted against the sleeve of her shirt also as if she was holding herself back from reaching out as she shifted from foot to foot beside the sofa.

"I might have just given birth and still a bit out of it, but I'm not doing to drop my own kid and I'm certainly not made of glass, Danvers. Get over here and say hi." Maggie huffed shifting her now sleeping baby against her chest. It seemed the little one wasn't about to settle down until she'd been able to hear Maggie's heartbeat still content to stay swaddled up in Alex's jacket.

Alex dropped to her knees beside the sofa at once before she could overthink the invitation "W—What's her name?" she questioned her hand betraying the slightest of hesitant trembling as she reached toward the sleeping newborn in Maggie's arms.

"Jamie," Maggie answers simply with a shy smile as the newborn seemed to shift toward Alex's hand even in sleep her little hand even relenting her grip on the side of the jacket in favor of holding one of Alex's fingers as she slept on. "Jamie Alexandra Sawyer." She finishes leaning down to press a delicate kiss against her daughter's head. "That is if it's alright with you considering what you did for her." she adds on quickly now chewing her lower lip nervously as her eyes lift toward Alex's only to drop just as quickly several times in the span of the next few heartbeats.

Alex could see Kara's lips curled upward as her little sister pretended to still be assessing the best way to get them all out now walking back through the door, they'd come in thought wasn't exactly an option.

"Uh—s—sure." Alex nodes dumbfounded. "Really I did what any decent person with medical training would have."

"Yeah, but you're not like those other medical nerds." Maggie teases while Kara gets to work reinforcing the icy barrier between them and the outside world.

"You going soft on me Sawyer." Alex teases already noticing that Maggie was on the losing side of attempting to keep her eyes open. Honestly, she was surprising the tired mother had lasted this long considering the strain of the birth.

"No." Maggie yawned giving an amused half-smile when it was Kara rather than Alex that took little Jamie from her.

"What? I'm the only one who hasn't gotten to hold her yet." The young super pouted already rocking the sleeping newborn against her chest.

Alex relents with a low sigh her gaze sliding back toward the dozing mother curled up under her sister's cape. Maggie's breath had already evened out with sleep "She's so cute." Kara coos echoing the same words now running thought her older sister's mind as she once again kneels beside the sofa.

"You okay?" Kara's voice was low, soft, cautious.

"This is real right?" Alex questions her voice breaking as she meets Kara's gaze over her shoulder. Her eyes already shining with yet-to-be-shed tears. "I need you to tell me this is real because I've had this exact dream, I don't know how many damned times and I need-" she broke off with a shaky sob as her eyes fall on the sleeping newborn in her sister's arms.

"This is real Al." Kara answers moving over until she could rest a hand against her sister's shoulder "yubikiri genman, uso tsuitara." She whispers as Alex's hand closes tightly over her own "This is real."

"So how are we getting them out?" Alex asks the break in her voice now replaced with that steely determination that had every agent at the DEO rookie or seasoned cowering.

"You know I love when you go badass agent." Kara giggles pressing a kiss against the top of Alex's head before launching into a whispered back and forth on the start of an escape strategy.
