Somewhere In D.C

Diana, Barbra, and Asteria were sitting at a three person table on the balcony of a restaurant that looks over the monument, laughing as Barbra told them something funny. "Wow. You're so funny." Diana commented with a smile on her face, "Thank You Barbra replied with a smile.

"Wow. I mean, no one's made me laugh like this in such a long time. I mean, it's true, I don't get out much socially." Diana said, nodded her head

"You don't get out much?" Barbra asked, looking stunned for a moment. A woman that beautiful should be out. "No not really. No." Diana replied confused as to why her friend would be stunned by this.

"I'm sorry. I'm just surprised. Because you just seem like the kind of person who's, like, always out. Like, people are asking you to go out all the time and you live out. You're just out." she replied, hoping not to make it awkward.

But to her relief Diana chuckled as Barbra laughed, "Like you never get in. You just seem like you'd be really popular. And I would know because I've never been popular." she added with a shrug.

Asterial looked at Barbra with a smile, "What? Come on, I've just met you and I like you already." she said as Diana nodded agreeing with her daughter.

"Excuse me, I'm gonna hit the ladies room." Asterian said as she got out of her seat and walked towards the bathroom, leaving Diana and Barbara to talk more until the conversation changed to a topic that Diana felt sore about. "Have you ever been in love?" Barbra asked as Diana felt her heart ache as she starred out in the distance, not wanting to talk about. But then she decides what's the har, she looks back with a pained smile, "A long, long, time ago." she answers thinking about Steve Trevor, Asteria's father whom she never had the chance to meet.

"You?" she asked, trying to divert the topic, "So many times, yeah. All the time. Often. So what happened? Where's he go, your guy?" she asked, curious to know more about this man Diana loved.

Diana didn't reply for a few minutes, "He, uh…...He died. But I still sometimes see him up there in the sky. He was a pilot." she admitted sadly. Barbra nodded, "Was he Asteria's father?" she asked, afraid she was over stepping boundaries.

"Yes. He never got a chance to see her. He was all kinds of things, but he was great." she said thinking about that night they shared in the small village of Veld that resulted in having a daughter. Speaking of her daughter, Diana looked to see Asteria was coming back, she smiled as she got back into her seat. "So what did I miss?" Asteria asked as Diana smiled,, "We were talking about your father." she said as Asteria nodded and looked down before looking back at Barbra.

"I just wish I had a chance to meet him." she admitted as Diana sighed then the girl picked up their drinks.

"I get it. Well, cheers to us. Wishing us a better luck, I guess." Barbra called clinking their glasses together.

Later that night

Barbra walked into her office after being saved by Diana from a homeless man in the park. She saw the crystal on her desk where she sat it on earlier that day to do more work on it. She set her things down as she sat down in her chair picking up the stone.

She can't get the image of Diana tossing that man like it was a volleyball. How in the hell did she get so strong? She sighs as she looks at the stone, "I do know what I wish for. To be like Diana." she said as the wind whooshing through her. "Stong, Sexy, cool Special." she said as she closed her eyes.

In the apartment of Diana and Asteria Prince, Diana was laying in her bed on her back looking at the ceiling before she turned on her side to get some sleep. Unknown to the two sleeping Amazons, a lone watch laid on the self was ticking away.

The Next Day

In the distance, phones were ringing and the sound of employee's coming in woke Barbara. She was confused as to where she was, until last night came back to her. "Oh No." she whispered once she realized she slept in her office as she got up and went to the mirror to try and fix up her hair. She looked at herself to see she was wearing the same clothes as yesterday and muttered to herself as she walked to the far side of the office and took off her skirt leaving her in her white blue leggings and fixing her shirt to perfectly fit over the leggings.

She opened her door and walked out, just then the janitor's bucket got knocked over and suddenly Barbara was standing in heels on a chair before jumping over the puddle, "Barbara, thank god you're good in heels." he commented, making Barbara confused.

When she walked into the room, "Hi Barbara." Jake greeted as the blonde was kinda stunned.

"Hi, Jake." she replied, confused as to why everyone was being nice. "Wow." he said with a chuckle, "Looking good." he added as Barbara smiled.

"Oh thanks." she replied as she continued to walk, she looked to see the door open, "This is our earth science lab." Carol told a man as the woman looked to see Barbara, "Oh, Barbara." she greeted with a smile.

"Hi." Barabara replied. "Perfect." Carol replied and introduced, "I have someone I would like you to meet." Carol added as the man stuck his hand out, "A pleasure to meet you Ms. Minerva." he greeted as Barbara shook his hand.

"Oh." she chuckles, "Uh, it's doctor, actaurally. Uh….have we met before? You look familiar." Barbara said, trying to think on how she knew him.

Carol smiled, "Do the thing. Do the thing." she urged him as the man smiled and shook his head, "No." he declined before turning towards the doctor, "Life is good. But it can be better." he said, making Barbara gasp as Carol laughed.

"Oh, my gosh. From TV. Oh, my gosh you're the oil guy." Barbara commented excited to meet someone like Maxwell Lord.

The man smiled, "The Oil Guy. I'll take it." he commented as the three all laughed.

"Mr. Lord is considering becoming a friend of the Smithsonian at the Partner level." Carol commented to Barbara, "Oh." she replied as Carol nodded. "Which entitles him to a handful of private tours of our facilities and he asked for you-by name." Carol explained as Barbara stunned in silence once again. "Me,'' she asked.

"Well, what can I say, Doctor? Your reputation precedes you. And apparently we share a passion for gemology." Max said as Barbara nodded, "Wow, okay. We do." she replied with a smile.

"I'll leave you to it." Carol stated as she walked away leaving Max with Barbara. "Oh, just let me drop this off in my office, and we'll go." Barbara said as she walked towards her office Max following her.

He begins to look in her office as she comes out, "Oh! Oh gauche. Don't look in there. It's such a mess. So I thought maybe we could start up stairs." she said as Max smiled.

Diana was walking into her department she was working in, and saw Barbra in the window with a man. "I love that ruby. Oh, no. Be careful with that." she heard her blonde friend say as she watched them playing with artifacts.

"Hey, have any of you seen my friend?" she asked around laughing as Max moved the mask from his face, "I'm right here." he joked as him and Barbra played some more until Diana had enough and was wanting to know what's going on.

She opened the door and walked in just as Barbra turned to look at her, "Hey, goodmorning." She greeted her co-worker and a man she doesn't know.

"Oh Hi." Barbara greeted back with a smile, "Oh, uh this is the one and only Maxwell Lord.'' She introduced Diana and was confused. Was she supposed to know this man? "Life is good. But it can be better." he demonstrated as Diana still looked kinda lost.

"He's from TV." Barbara commented as Diana nodded, "Oh, I don't have a tv." she stated just then Max looked at her and came up to her, "Well, I have a perfect relationship with Sears." he stated in a flirting matter as Barbara watched Diana get all his attention. "I can get you a brand-new TV by the end of the day. Nineteen inches. No strings attached." he said holding out his card.

Diana took it, "I'll stick to the one I don't have." she replied as Max nodded, "Okay." he replied getting back to Barbara.

"You're so generous. Um….Headline….Uh….Mr. Lord took a tour of our entire Smithsonian while considering a partnership, and guess what he decided to do? Give his entire donation to our department. He's announcing it at tonight's Members Gala." Barbara explained as Diana let out a forced smile.

"It's gonna be an amazing party. I hope you have something nice to wear." he stated as the way he talked sent chills down her spine.

"I actually tend to skip these events. I find that out benefactors with a true eye towards philanthropy prefer to stay out of the spotlight. To let the museum's garner the attention." Diana explained as Max nodded. "I agree." he said but t hen he started dancing, "Except, I like to party." he added as Barbars laughed as her and Max started talking about Latin dancing as Diana had enough and stepped in.

"Great, so thank you so much for coming." she said wanting Max out of here, "Oh Yeah." Barbara added as Max nods, "You know, I really should be going. Thank you for the tour. I will have to see you tonight." he said to both women as he dropped a magnifying glass and walked towards the door.

"I'll find you." She yelled out as the man waved as he walked out. "I like him." Barbara said with a laugh.

Diana didn't like him. He's after something and it's just not Barbara. She sigh as she looked at her friend and let out a forced smile as she walked away. If she's gonna find out anything, she would have to attend the party. With a sigh she continued to walk towards her office.

When she walked in, she saw her daughter at her own desk and looked up as her mother came in, "Mom, is everything okay?" Asteria asked as Diana shrugged.

"Are you going to the members' Gala that's happening tonight?" she asked as Asteria gave her a look. "Uh, why. We tend to skip these things." she replied as Diana nodded as she sat at her own desk.

She lets out a sigh, "Yes. But I think we should go tonight. There's something going on and I want to know what." she said as she explained Maxwell Lord and why he was here. "I think he's after the stone." Diana told her daughter as they continued to talk.

(I Always Skip the scenes where Maxwell Lord. This is about Diana and Asteria)

"These are known for a terrific fit." the saleswoman said who was standing outside of a fitting room where Barbara Minerva was trying on outfits and shoes for tonight's Gala.

"Yeah, I'm just not so great with heels." she replied as she slipped on the heels. "Just try them on." the sales woman encouraged. "Come out and show me." she added as the door opened and barbara walked out in a fitting black dress and rose-gold heels as she walked in front of the mirror and looked at herself.

"They do fit well." she commented to the stunned saleswoman.

"Ah." the woman let out, "Huh. Yeah I like it." Barbara said doing a few poses from the side and back. "You look amazing." the saleswoman commented as Barbara let out a smile.

"Do you think it's too tight?" she commented as she kept posing in the mirror.

"I think it's just right. Wow." commented the woman and after Barbara posed she nodded, "Yeah. I'll take it."

Later that night

A black car pulled up to the entrance and Diana stepped out wearing a long white dress along with her daughter who was wearing a blue knee length dress with no straps, as they walked up the red carpet catching most of the attention of the men at the party. "Hey, there. How are you doing?" a man asked, trying to strike a conversation when Diana just smiled and kept on walking. They needed to find Maxwell Lord and find out what he's up to, she doesn't have time to socialize.

"Let's separate. If you see him follow him I'll try and meet up with you." Diana told her daughter who nodded and went her own way as Diana made her way through the people where the guys were still looking at her like she was a goddess. Hell she was a goddess. Literally. But they didn't know that.

She looked and saw Max upstairs talking and laughing as she made her way there. She was a woman on a mission. The next time she saw Max was when she was upstairs and saw he was downstairs as she made her way there.

Somewhere else, Barbara walked up the stairs that led towards the Gala and the crowd was stunned as they formed an aisle for her to get through and got lots of comments as she walked through the crowd with a smile.

She started making her way up the stairs to the second floor as a voice stopped her, "Dr. Minerva." he said as she turned to see Max and smiled. "You look breathtaking." he commented as she smiled nervously.

"Thank You. I….You know, we have to go to these sorts of things for work. Probably wore this dress a million times." as Max nodded with a Mmm. "Um...actually, no." she admitted laughing nervously, "I...I just bought this today, I never looked like this. Um, not even close. Took me a long time to get ready." she confessed as Max walked up to her.

"Biotin. You should try it. Makes you glow like a teenager. Reverses the clock. Never accept the limitations of nature. He said as Barbara shook her head, "Yeah, no." she replied as Max nodded, "Especially not a beautiful woman like you." he said in a flirting tone.

Barbara chuckled, "Oh." she replied as Max looked around the place, "God, it's so loud in here." he said as Barabara nodded. "Yeah." she replied/ "Can we go somewhere? Just me and you?" he asked as Barbra nodded. "Yes." she replied.

"Hmm….Your office?" he suggested as she laughed nervously and decided what's the harm in it and nodded as she led him to her office.

While Barbara and Max were in the office, Diana was walking around after she lost track of Max. "Hey, they're beautiful." said a man as Diana shook her head.

"No, thank you. Excuse me." she told him walking away as she approached the stairs and started making her way down, "Oh Diana. Hoping I'd see you." said Carl. "Hey do you know I'm at the White House now? Yeah, that's right. I'm interning as requested by name." He said as they both stopped at the platform that looked over , "so….Listen I've had my eyes on you for sometime so if you ever need…." but before he could finish Diana walked away.

"That's great Carl." she said walking down the stairs.

"Diana." someone called out as she walked away. The man followed her into what looked like the champagne room, "Diana." he called again making the woman turn to face him, "Excuse me, I don't even know you, so please stop following me." she firmly told him wanting to find Max and get out of here. She turned before walking towards the bar.

The man was there again, "Goodnight." Diana told him hoping he would get the message as she walked away from him.

"But…" the guy sighs before trying a different approach, "I wish we had more time." he said making Diana stop cold in her tracks as those words made her heart ache as she turned towards this man.

"Why did you say that? You don't get to say that to me. You don't even know me." she said mad that someone would use such words against her.

"Yes, I do." the man replied as he took her hand and placed his watch in her hand. Diana thinks back to the time where Stve did that just before he died. "I can save today. You can save the world." the man told her as Diana looked up and the next thing she knew, Steve was standing there.

"Steve?" she whispered, not wanting to believe it. "Diana." her name from his lips made her feel like she's been punched in the stomach.

"But, how?" she asked, as she looked him over to make sure he was real.

"I don't know." he replied as She hugged him as he hugged back, those sad feelings suddenly coming back to the surface. "Oh my god." she whispered as she felt her eyes tear up. She let go and looked into those blue eyes of his she missed so much, "It's you. I missed you." she said as they smashed their lips against each other. He was alive and here with her. She let go and looked into those eyes once again. Just then she realized that he doesn't know he has a child.

"Steve, there's something you need to know." she said as Steve looked on. "When….when we were together that night in Veld. It was the best night. It was after you died that I found out. That I was pregnant with your child." she told him as his eyes widened in shock.

"W...What? Y…..you're saying that I…..that we have a child?" he whispered as tears filled his eyes as he smiled. Diana nodded with a smile of her own. "Yes. Her name is Asteria Trevor Prince." she said as Steve kissed her once again. He finally had the family he had always wanted.
