Good Deeds
Naruto and Kikyo traveled a bit then he noticed over his shoulder that Kikyo would have her soul collectors rejuvenate her overtime. He asked. "May I ask what do you need those souls for?"
"My soul is partially incomplete, my Lord. I require souls of dead maidens to sustain myself. Otherwise, my body of dirt and clay shall wither and die."
Naruto rubbed his jaw for a bit then snapped his fingers. "There is a way for you to continue serving me without having to collect souls. You can bind your incomplete soul to my immortal one. In this way, I can revive you when you die and complete your soul while still keeping mine."
Kikyo's eyes widened at this. Never in her wildest dreams did a god offer to tie her soul with his. With this offer, she no longer has to hunt for souls and the sweet boon of revival made it even more enticing. She blushed heavily and replied. "This humble servant accepts your offer, Lord Naruto."
Naruto smiled and ordered. "Hold my hand." Said right hand left the cassock.
Kikyo did and felt his left hand cup her cheek as he intoned. "This is my covenant to you Kikyo...my immortal soul and your incomplete version is made as one...as my life prospers, so shall yours...you are a part of me and if your flesh should fail, that flesh shall be made anew...and should your spiritual powers become useless in your own...know that my powers shall amplify yours...this is the covenant I make to you and may it bind us so long as your service to me is pleasing, efficient and to the letter."
Kikyo stared deep into her lord god's eyes and saw a bright purple shining on them. She felt her soul tie with her god's and it felt good, as if she has taken a nice warm bath in the hot springs. It enveloped her being and she enjoyed every second of it.
It is finished and she saw Naruto walked slightly away from her. She felt water pool in her eyes and said tearfully. "Thank you for this gift, my Lord. I promise I will do everything in my power to please you and I will not disappoint you so long as my body and powers are able."
Naruto smiled. "I know you will Kikyo. Now walk by my side, we are entering a village."
Kikyo did, feeling pride surge in her being as they entered a village.
The two participated in a wedding ceremony and it turns out that the wine has been emptied. Naruto took command despite the host's reluctance and ordered the servants to fill the jars with water. He then ordered one of the servants to fill a cup with that water and take it to the host. One did and the servant drank the cup, not knowing it was water and to his surprise it tasted like wine! He called out to the bride groom and praised him for saved the wine till later.
Kikyo figured out this miraculous action. Naruto switched the water into wedding wine!
That was the first of many signs to come.
Kikyo watched her lord and god perform many spectacular miracles such letting the blind see, the lame walk with only a mere touch. She even witnessed him revive the daughter of a feudal Lord from a coma with her own eyes by a simple command to wake up.
That feudal lord's house rejoiced that day.
Of course, the rumors spread like wildfire and many people brought their relatives who were possessed by evil spirits to Naruto who merely commanded them to leave their hosts. One man afflicted with leprosy approached him and requested Naruto to heal him by touching him. Naruto willingly did it and the man was cured.
Naruto ordered him not to tell anyone about this and the man agreed. But Kikyo could tell that the man was too excited to keep quiet.
She looked forlornly at her god who bit his lip and continued walking with her beside him. She knew that it would be harder for him to be incognito from now on.
She was there when they were staying at a hut when two men brought another on a stretcher to him so that he could cure the man's paralysis. He did so and everybody witnessed it. He told the man to pick up his mat and to go home.
One night, Kikyo sat on a meditative position seeing her lord stand in front of her. He announced. "I wish to go to a certain temple. There's..a staff...a metal and precious staff created by one of the other gods for religious people for use." He added in a playful tone. "A staff that will allow me to have a a little fun indeed."
Kikyo stood up and readily said. "Send me, my Lord. Tell me it's location and I'll fetch it for you."
Naruto shook his head. "No. The outside is guarded by demons under Naraku's control. He must've predicted that this would happen and assign a large contingent to stand on the temple. We both go in early morning."
"Yes, my Lord." Kikyo answered and they both go to a meditative sleep.
