Liv's first stop after leaving Fitz on her couch was the pastry shop. She grabbed two cups of tea and two cherry cheese Danish. She headed to the nursing home with some breakfast for Nana. Nana shouldn't have Danish, but she always liked it when Liv helped her cheat. Liv needed some guidance now and Nana was the only one who could help her.

"MMMM, MMMMM, MMMM, my Livvie, you certainly know how to make your Nana happy. This Danish is divine. You haven't even taken a bite of yours, so why don't you leave that for me, and I will have it as a late-night snack." Before Liv could even agree, Nana snatched up the bag and put it in her nightstand. She turned back to Olivia, "and hush on giving me a lecture about eating two in one day."

Liv took one look at Nana and started to cry. She just sobbed, an ugly cry, as Abby would call it. Nana just stared at her, then she pursed her lips. Her head tilted toward Liv. "Girl, get your behind on my bed now. I need you close to me so I can whack some sense into you. What did you do to my Fitzgerald?"

Nana grabbed hold of Liv's hand and caressed her shoulder. "Come on now, it couldn't be that bad. You haven't said two words since you walked through that door, start talking. "

Liv told her everything. Every little detail from the parking of the car to the leaving of the apartment this morning. Nana listened to every word Liv said, no judgement, no anger, just love, unconditional love.

There was an awkward silence from Nana. Liv looked at her looking at her. Finally, Nana threw her hands up like she just hit the winning shot.

"Livvie, you kissed him? I told you! I knew you would kiss him. Did you see the stars? Did you? Tell Nana you saw the stars."

"Nana were you listening to anything I said? She shook her head. "Yes," she said with a deep breath," I saw the stars. It was surreal, Nana."

"I told you, now, when you make love to him."

"NANA!"

"Oh, hush girl, when you make love to him, those stars will part, and you will see the heavens. There is no feeling in the world that can describe the feeling when you make love to your soul mate." She looked at Liv, who still had the word sad written all over her face. "Girl break out of this depression. This is a good thing, why can't you see that?"

"Nana, what did I do? I don't like what I am feeling."

"Wait for his phone call. He will call you today. Thank God he walked up with you. Who knows what that snake would have done to you.? I am calling Huck. I want him going home with you each night to make sure Edison isn't there. Don't you object. My Huck man will do what I ask."

"Nana, I really like Fitz. I think he is wonderful. He's heading to Minnesota today, then he's off to Texas, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, he's coming back here. He has a gala on Saturday, and he asked me to go with him. I don't know…."

"Don't you, I don't know to me young lady. My next call after Huck is Abby. She is going shopping with you to get a dress. I want to see the dress before Saturday. My sunshine girl will make sure she gets the perfect dress for you. Olivia" (She only called her Olivia when she was being stern with her.) "Olivia, that man has feelings for you. You need to give this a try. You need new life in you. Edison damaged you, Fitzgerald will heal you. You will feel the true meaning of love if you just open your heart."

Liv leaned down to hug her Nana. Once she felt the embrace of her arms, she cried again, as Nana caressed her hair. "My beautiful Livvie, you will see how much you can be loved, open your heart to Fitzgerald. "

By the time Liv entered the office, Abby and Huck were already waiting to scold her. Nana had done just as she said she would. Abby had briefed her on the Anniversary party and they just received a call about the Sweet Sixteen party for the Chief of Staff to the VP. So, they had another gig to work on, as the anniversary would be completed in two weeks.

"Then, we are heading to the shops." Abby said sternly. "Nana wants to see a dress; Nana gets to see a dress. Tell me all about the gala on Saturday. Where, when, who, and for what?"

"It's a gala for donors that contribute to the nursing homes. A list of assets and how their money is spent will be presented. It's a black-tie event, so I suggest she gets a dress fit for the princess that she is. It will be at the Fords Country Club from 8-midnight."

All three of them swung their heads at the doorway where Liv saw Fitz standing there as he dictated the venue to Abby. Huck immediately got up, but Liv stood in front of him and whispered something. Huck walked over to Fitz and put his hand out.

"Thank you for helping Liv last night. Nana called me. I will be escorting her home each night. If you didn't make it happen, I will, but we had better have seen the last of Edison Davis." Huck nodded and walked into his office.

Abby couldn't stop staring at Fitz. Liv snapped her fingers in front of Abby's eyes. "Right, definitely need a dress for the Fords Country Club. I am on it." She looked at Liv with her eyes wide. The look said it all. "You'd be crazy to let him go."

Alone in the conference room, Fitz walked toward Liv.

"How did you know where I worked?"

"Well, I could've googled party planner and gotten the beautiful Ms. Pope, but Quinn had the address on the card you gave her yesterday. I got your note," he tossed it on the table, "very sincere, but it's written to drive me away, I am not going away, Livvie."

"Fitz," she couldn't even look him in the eyes. "I've agreed to go to the gala with you. I am not going to go back on my word with that. Go to where you're going this week, and we will talk more on Saturday."

"I will hold you to that on Saturday. I just want you to be aware, after Saturday, I will see you again."

Liv crossed her arms and looked away. He took another step closer. She turned her head, so they were face to face. "That's a promise," he said, and his voice weakened her. He tilted her chin towards his lips and soothed her lips with his. When he pulled away, he licked his lips and said, "Pick you up Saturday at 6:30." And he hurried out of the office.

Well, Nana was finally wrong. He didn't call. That sexy go getter waltzed right into her office. That was bold, and hot. She finally licked her lips and could still feel his on hers. A chill went down her spine as Abby came into the room, ready to head out dress shopping.

Saturday (The Gala)

When Liv opened the door to her apartment, Fitz stood with a jewelry box in his hands. As he caught sight of Liv, he had nothing to say but "Oh wow, Livvie."

Liv stepped back to let him in, but her eyes were lost on his appearance in his tux. The jacket had tails that covered his ass, but Liv used her imagination as his pants were a perfect fit. His white tie was a bit crooked, and she reached out to fix it. His shirt did not hide the gorgeous chest underneath, she wanted so much to feel that chest, to rest her head on it one day. She smelled his after shave and held her breath for a moment to take it all in.

She stood in her elegant, Nana approved, evening dress. It was sleeveless with a plunging neckline. It showed off Liv's neck and Fitz had a hard time looking away. The skirt was full length, but it brought out the curve in Liv's body. She looked stunning. Fitz smiled and handed the box to her.

"This comes Nana certified. In fact, she picked it out from pictures that Quinn showed her. She said it would go perfectly around your neck and match exquisitely with this dress. Those were her words not mine. I think that means it's a match."

Liv opened the box and covered her mouth to stop the shriek. "Nana", then she looked at Fitz. "Fitz, thank you. Is it a loan?"

"What? You think I would loan out a diamond necklace for you? I plan on keeping you, so no, this necklace is not a loan, it's a keeper, like you are for me. Here, turn around, let me put this on you."

It was a 5-carat tennis necklace that just sparkled in the light. It had just the right fit around Liv's neck and when Fitz finished fastening it, he gently rubbed Liv's shoulders and brought his one hand down to hers where he interlocked it together.

Liv turned and looked at him. "I mean it Fitz, this is too much," she said as rubbed the necklace with her free hand.

"It's perfect. You look gorgeous. I cannot wait to have you by my side at the gala. He let go of her hand. He put his arm out and with her arm in his, and leaned in for a quick kiss on the lips that made Liv smile. They left, arms interlocked, it was a start, but they were connected.

They had to stop at the home so Nana could see them. Nana was waiting in the lobby. She looked like a child waiting for her parents to arrive home from a date.

When they entered the lobby all the residents that were there started to clap. Nana had a smile of pure joy on her face. Liv noticed tears in her eyes, and she couldn't ever remember a time when she saw Nana cry.

"Oh, my Livvie! Look at them", she said to her fellow residents. "Livvie, you look amazing. Oh Fitzgerald, you handsome boy. Come give your Nana a big hug and you, Quinn, don't just stand there, take some pictures of this man with Nana. After a few pictures with Fitz, Nana let Liv take some her and Fitz. Liv never went to her prom and she figured this is what Nana missed, so she let her have the spotlight.

Liv bent down to kiss her Nana good night. Nana put her arm around her and whispered "let the heavens open my baby. Let him in, open that heart of yours Livvie. He is special."

"Good night, Nana, I love you."

Fitz kissed her gently on the cheek also and as he stood up Nana put a tiny smack on his behind. Fitz blushed and just shook his head, as Nana said, "Fitzgerald, if only I was young again, my grandniece wouldn't have it so easy."

"NANA!" Liv covered her mouth but couldn't contain the laughter. Poor Fitz.

The gala forum was elegant. Each attendee was paying 25k a plate. That money, as Fitz explained to Olivia, would be used all around the country to better the living conditions in the worst rundown nursing homes. On the way to the gala in the back of limo, Fitz told Olivia all about his grandma. He told her after he made his money in real estate, he promised to dedicate time in doing this. Eventually he would hand over most of the responsibility to Quinn, who was riding in her own Limo with Charlie, her fiancée.

On the way into the gala, cameras were snapping outside, as some of DC's most elite was attending. Liv recognized most of the attendees as they had her organize parties for them at one time or another. Liv's jitters settled down a bit, as she felt comfortable with the conversations.

As the donors entered, they were greeted by Fitz, who introduced Olivia. Olivia was fitting right in and was feeling good about deciding to attend. Quinn and her fiancée Charlie were greeting the guests right after Fitz and Olivia.

All seemed to be going fine until Edison walked in with an unknown date on his arm. He stopped when he saw Fitz and Fitz did not put his hand out to greet him. Instead, Fitz asked Quinn to come over.

"Kindly give Senator Davis and his lovely date their money back, doubled. Write a check, now for 100K. I do not wish to take his money, nor do I want him at my sponsored gala."

Fitz put his arm around Olivia, who was trying to walk away, as Edison just glared at her. He then looked at Fitz. "You are making a big mistake Mr. Grant."

Quinn handed the check to Edison who snatched it out of her hand and placed it in his inside pocket. He glared back at Olivia and leaned closer to her. "You better tell your new man who he is really dealing with."

Liv looked up at him and turned to Fitz. "What you are dealing with is a coward." She then turned to his date. "If I were you, I would run, run now because this is not a man. This is someone who will make you feel lower than the gum on your shoe." She looked back at Fitz, "so what you are dealing with is a nobody and I don't blame you for not taking his money." She looked at Edison right in his eyes, never blinking. "Goodbye Edison." Edison turned to leave, as he did, Liv let out a deep sigh and held her chest as she turned to walk away. She knew all eyes were on what just transpired.

Fitz signaled to Quinn to take over the greetings as he followed Liv through the kitchen and out the back door. Fitz stood in front of her. "Liv, you did great. You didn't flinch, you embarrassed him, as I am sure he has done to you so many times. You have nothing to feel upset about."

She looked at Fitz and rested her forehead on his chest. "Nana always said I would feel free when I got rid of him for good. I think I understand now."

Fitz put his arm around hers as they walked back into the gala. They spoke to other couples, many of whom told Fitz about the party Olivia planned and how well it turned out. They danced, they ate, and they had a nice evening. Liv was slowly letting her guard down.

Upon their arrival back to Liv's apartment, she turned to Fitz. "Tonight, was amazing and just what I needed." This time, Fitz leaned in, cupped Liv's cheeks and pulled her in for a kiss. Liv finally reached back and felt his curls as she pulled him in closer. "You will see stars" and there they were again.

When they stopped the kiss, they were forehead to forehead with Liv still caressing his curls. "Will you stay with me tonight Fitz. I just want you to hold me, to feel your arms around me." Fitz called the driver and told him to be back in the afternoon tomorrow.

Fitz slowly took off her necklace in which she placed in her jewelry box her Nana had given her as a gift. He rubbed her shoulders as she shuddered at his touch, and he unzipped her graceful dress. He turned away when it fell to the floor and she was just in her under garments. She noticed the gentlemen in him. She slipped a nightgown over herself then she worked on helping him take off his tux.

She did not turn away as he took off his clothes and watched as he stood there with just his boxers on. His chest was everything she thought it would be and she stepped closer to him and rubbed from his abs up to his shoulders. She noticed he closed his eyes as his hands went around her waist.

They both met each other's lips, but this time he broke away and slowly went down to her neck. She knew he could feel the goosebumps on her body, and he didn't want her to know how hard she was making him. She clearly wasn't ready for love making and he wasn't going to push the issue. However, she did things to him that were out of his control. He scooped her up cradle style and lay in the bed with her.

She rested her head on his chest, just like she hoped to do and made circles with her fingers on his abs. "Where are you going Monday? What states are your homes on Monday that you're checking up on?"

"Well, after I visit Nana and deliver her flowers as a thank you for the necklace choice, I will be heading to Boston for two days, then to Rhode Island. I will be back here on Saturday when I'll be with you, again.

Liv didn't object, and Fitz noticed she didn't object. "You WILL see her again". There was no arguing with Nana.

"Flowers for Nana? Besides Huck, I never saw her love a man like she loves you. She doesn't open her heart to many people, so you know what that means? You are one beautiful man, Mr. Grant. I don't mean look wise; I mean inside. You are truly beautiful." He pulled her closer to him and tilted her head up for another kiss.

"Livvie, I could kiss you all night. I know you have had hard times; I know we have work to do to make this work, but please know I am not going anywhere. I will be here for you. I will never walk away from you. I can hold you all night, I have no problem with that. When you are ready, I will be here for you."

She felt him squeeze her shoulders and her body quivered a bit. She kissed his chest and up to his neck, then finally his lips, where they remained like that for most of the night. They just kissed and held each other, and Liv enjoyed watching all the stars with each kiss she made with her soulmate.

The first feeling of falling in love started to overtake Olivia. As she shuttered at the thought, she rested so secure in his arms. Slowly, is just the word she needed to hear.
