Episode 1: The World of Fantasy
(The day is July 11th, 2022. It's been a week since PSO2 has released, and the Players seem to be getting a handle for the mechanics. Xavier is currently out on an Expedition in the with Rob, Emmanuel, and Brandon in the Forest. Xavier leaps out of one of the bushes, and fires an arrow at the Area Boss - Fang Banshee, hitting their weak points, and staggering them)
Xavier/Ramesys: Bullseye! Now you guys! They're wide open!
(The others leap towards the Fang Banshee)

One Week Ago...
(Xavier finishes his Tutorial Quests, and is teleported to Ship 2: Ur)
Ramesys: So this is a Ship. Not what I was expecting.
Guide: Welcome to your Ship. This is Ship 2: Ur. You can teleport to any other Ship from the Teleporters next to the Counters in the front of the Ship.
(Xavier then spots a Player with the Handle "Nate", who looks similar to Roberto)
Ramesys: Rob?
(The Player turns around)
Rob/Nate: Xavier?
Ramesys: Hey man, you made it!
(Xavier runs up to Rob, and they give a Fistbump)
Ramesys: I see you went with a Human Hunter.
Nate: Yeah, seemed pretty cool. And it also seemed like a good starting Class. And you?
Ramesys: Human Braver. The Braver's ability to hit targets from a long distance, and then immediately close the gap with Katana, or Gunblade, and powerful strikes would make it one of the most versatile Classes. Combine that with the Humans high HP, good overall Stats, and no particularly bad Stats, it should be the perfect combination.
Nate: DAMN BOY! You put some serious thought into this Character didn't you?
Ramesys: I always do that when I'm making a Character. If I don't put my heart, soul, and thoughts into making I likely won't be happy with the results.
Nate: Eh... To each their own I guess.
Ramesys: Do you know where the other's are?
Nate: Nope. I'm guessing their still doing the Tutorial Quests.
(A few minutes pass)
?: I thought I'd find you two here.
(The two turn their heads to see a Player dressed like they come from a Horror Film with the Handle "Eyeless Jack" approach them)
Ramesys: Oh hey Brandon.
Eyeless Jack/Brandon: Hey.
Nate: Man you're radiating some menacing ass aura.
(Brandon simply shrugs in response)
Nate: When did you get here anyway?
Eyeless Jack: I got here before any of you guys. The reason I wasn't here was because, I looked for some Equipment while I was waiting.
Nate: Anyone know if Emmanuel's here?
Eyeless Jack: Nope. He hasn't gotten here yet.
Ramesys: Yeah knowing Emmanuel he's probably still doing the Tutorial Quests all Guns-Blazing, and shit. I swear if he was in a Shoot-Out he'd be the first person dead.
Nate: Yeah true.
(They then see a CAST Ranger with the Handle "Grand Jet" get teleported onto the Ship)
Ramesys: Speak of the Devil.
Grand Jet/Emmanuel: WHAT'S GOOD MOTHERFUCKERS!? I GOT A GUN!
Ramesys: Told ya.
(Emmanuel then walks up to the three, explaining to them what Class, and Race he picked)
Ramesys: Oh yeah Brandon you never told us what you picked.
Eyeless Jack: Oh I went with a Newman Force. Techniques are useful, and Newmans are the best pairing for a Force Player.
Present...
(Emmanuel is the first to attack)
Grand Jet: Grenade Shell!
(He launches a Grenade at the Fang Banshee, causing it to reel back from the impact. Roberto was next, he pulls out his Sword, and runs at the Fang Banther)
Nate: Twister Fall!
(He spins his Sword in the air before slamming it into the ground hitting the Fang Banshee. Brandon then pulls out his Rod, before using one of his Techniques)
Eyeless Jack: Rafoie!
(He launches a cluster of Photons which detonate once they make contact with the Fang Banshee. Xavier then readies another Arrow)
Ramesys: *Deep Breath* (Thinking) Remember to stay calm... All need is one good hit, and we can get out of this Forest. Now focus!
(He charges his Arrow, which soon begins to gain a blue glow)
Ramesys: Penetrating Arrow!
(He lets go, and the Arrow soars through the sky, pierce the Fang Banshee's Skull, killing it)
Ramesys: *Deep Breath* Well now that's over with. Great job out there you guys. We should get an S-Rank from this for sure.
Nate: Hope you're right, cause if we don't get I'm gonna be pissed.
Grand Jet: Come on let's get back to the Ship.
(They all nod in agreement before using the Telepipe to teleport back to the Ship)
Ship 2: Ur
(The four open their eyes to see that they're in the Gateway Ship. Then a Quest Ranking Menu pops up in front of them showing that they earned an S-Rank)
Ramesys: Nice! Although that's only the First Area that we just cleared.
Nate: ...Yeah. That's fucking annoying.
Eyeless Jack: Let's get back to the Lobby. We can talk about our plans when we get up there.
(The others nod in agreement, before heading to the Teleporter in the center of the Gateway Ship, yet instead of being brought to the Lobby they're brought to the Shopping District, where they see tons of other Players, about a Thousand or so)
Ramesys: What's... Going on?
Nate: Hell if I know.
(They hear some of the Players chatting with each other, and amongst themselves)
Ramesys: (Thinking) What the hell is going on here? Is this some kind of event? But wait they wouldn't have an event this early in the game would they? Is this Sega's doing? Is this some kind of prank?
(The four then get the feeling they're being watched)
Ramesys: (Thinking) Whoa! Alright, now that is freaky as all hell.
(Out Loud) Does anyone else get the feeling they're being watched?
Nate, Eyeless Jack, and Grand Jet: Yeah.
?: Dakara watashi dakede wa arimasen (So I'm not the only one).
(The four turn their attention to the girl next to Xavier)
Ramesys: A Human Ranger.
(He remarks once spotting the Alva Sniper on her back. He then looks at her Handle)
Ramesys: ...Sinon.
Grand Jet: That's a weird name.
Eyeless Jack: Says the guy named Grand Jet.
Grand Jet: Touche.
Nate: What kind of a Handle is Sinon? What Language is that?
Ramesys: It's Japanese.
Nate: Huh?
(Her look is combination between these two designs)

Sinon: Are you guys American Players?
(Xavier is thrown off by her sudden English)
Ramesys: Yeah. And you're a Japanese Player I'm assuming.
Sinon: Yeah.
(She looks at Xavier's Handle)
Sinon: Ramesys, huh. That's an interesting Handle.
Ramesys: So is Sinon.
(Suddenly Xavier's vision causes him to see the entire Shopping District in a blue tint, along with the Players. The exception being a couple of Players who are highlighted in purple, and their Handles are shown)
Ramesys: ...Kirito, Asuna, Klein, Agil, Yama...
(After realizing what he had said Xavier hits himself on the side of the head, and his vision goes back to normal)
Ramesys: That was odd.
Nate: What was that?
Ramesys: For some reason I randomly picked up on a couple Handles. Mostly Japanese.
Sinon: That is odd.
Ramesys: Who are they though?
?: I'm Yama.
(The five turn their attention to the girl behind Sinon. She's another Human Hunter. She has long Brown Hair which is a little lighter than Xavier's, her outfit is similar to the default Hunter outfit, she has fair skin similar to Sinon's, but not as light. She is also wearing glasses, and is similar in height to Xavier)
Yama: I'm a Human Hunter.
Ramesys: I see.
(Suddenly they hear something akin to an Electric Discharge, and at that moment a Shadowy Character Model in a cloak appears in the center of the Shopping District)
Ramesys: What the?
?: Hello there fellow Players. For those who are wondering who am I, you may call me Kayaba.
Ramesys: (Thinking) Kayaba?
Kayaba: You're probably wondering why it is that you were brought to the Shopping District, and that is because it is the largest part of any Ship. And it is also the perfect place to make an Announcement... As some of you may have noticed the Logout Feature is not showing itself. That is not a Bug.
(The Players then look at their Menu, and go the Settings, only to notice that the just like he said the Logout Feature wasn't there)
Ramesys: What the crap!?
Eyeless Jack: This doesn't look good.
Grand Jet: NO SHIT!
Nate: If we can't Logout of here, then we're fucked.
Ramesys: Yeah, and not to mention he said that this isn't a Bug. If it's not a Bug, then what the hell is it?
Kayaba: This was my doing. I am a Hacker. And I decided to have a little fun with the game. I disabled the Logout Feature. Along with that, if you would, take a look at the Player Count.
(They open the Menu, and look at the Player)
Kayaba: Look at the amount of Accounts, and compare it to the amount that are Currently Playing.
Ramesys: Let's see...
Over 3 Million Accounts, and a couple Hundred less are currently playing. That's not all that odd.
Kayaba: The interesting tidbit about the Player Count is that only a minute almost everyone was playing.
Ramesys: (Thinking) Now that's odd.
Kayaba: That was also my doing. You see, by Hacking into the Main Server for the game, I am able to send an Electric Shock powerful enough to fry the Human Brain when a Player dies. In other words if you die in here... You'll die in the Real World.
(A wave of Shock, Worry, Sadness, and Fear wash over the Players as they stare speechlessly at Erebus)
Yama: (Whisper) N-N-No... No... No, no, no...
(She begins to breakdown in tears. Meanwhile Xavier begins to get worked up, and starts hyperventilating)
Ramesys: We... Could die for real!?
(He asks distressed)
Kayaba: By now there have already been multiple News Reports on the matter. And do not attempt to remove the NerveGear, any attempt to remove the NerveGear will result in an Electric Shock being sent, and frying your Brain...
(None of the Players know how to respond)
Kayaba: There is a way to get out however. And a way to be revived if you happen to die. There are items known as Half-Scape Dolls, which will revive you with 50% of your HP. However I made these super rare to come by, and I have also made so that if you don't respond in 30 Seconds you will be given an Electric Shock. And the way to get is to clear every Quest, and then to defeat me in the Final Area. Do that, and all the remaining Players including will be free to go, and Logout. That is all, goodbye for now, Players.
(Kayaba then teleports out of the Shopping District, leaving everyone speechless)
Ten Minutes Later...
(Xavier, Rob, Brandon, and Emmanuel are doing an Exploration of the Volcanic Caverns. Most of them do seem to be holding their own against the Monsters, yet despite that they do end up spacing out from time to time, and aren't even talking to each other)
Eyeless Jack: Alright. Now we just have to deal with the Boss.
Grand Jet: Alright! Let's fuck some shit up!
(Rob, and Xavier simply nod in response, and the group move on to the Final Area, where they come face to face with Boss of the Volcanic Caverns... Vol Dragon. Emmanuel begins by unloading a could Hundred Rounds which doesn't end up doing much)
Grand Jet: Alright then. Let's try this... One Point!
(Emmanuel concentrates all of his Fire Power into a Single Shot which ends up dealing decent damage)
Nate: Ride Slasher!
(Rob charges up his Sword before Mounting it, and riding straight into the Vol Dragon doing a decent amount of damage. The Vol Dragon then goes after Xavier who seems to be spacing out)
Nate: Xavier! Quick do something!
Grand Jet: Shit! If he doesn't move he's dead!
Eyeless Jack: He's gotta planning something.
Nate: Whatever it is he's gonna have to do it quickly.
(The Vol Dragon was only about a Meter away from Xavier at this point)
Ramesys: (To himself) I won't die.
(The Vol Dragon was charging up an attack)
Ramesys: (To himself) I'm not gonna die.
(The Vol Dragon goes in for the attack)
Ramesys: I'M NOT DYING!
(He then pulls out an Arrow, and charges an attack)
Ramesys: Master Shot!
(He launches several Powered Up Arrows at the Vol Dragon's Head, killing it. And this when he looks straight in front of him, instead of having a look Worry, he instead has a look of Determination. The other's are amazed by Xavier's actions, and his determined look)
Ramesys: I've finally made up my mind. We're not just gonna sit around while Kayaba kills us off. We're not gonna suck on our thumb, and cry like a little babies, while everyone else risks their lives to save the people in here. I'm gonna tell you guys what we're gonna do... We're gonna form an Alliance, we're gonna clear all the Quest, and we're gonna kick that Asshole's shit in! Who's with me!?
(He holds his fist out, and the other's smile)
Nate: We're always with you.
(The four put their fists together)
Ramesys: Alright. Let's do this!
(The four then run to the Telepipe, and the scene Freeze Frames)
Xavier: (To the reader) After we got back to the Ship we formed the Resistance. And by the end of the Month we had 15 Players join it.
(The seen then changes to a list of Players Handle's, with a Player's Handle being grayed out when they die)
Xavier: As well as having 15 Players join the Resistance, by the end of the Month 2,000 Players died.
