Dang, it's nearly been a month since I posted Chapter 1. Been working hard on some upcoming YouTube videos, one of which is actually based on The Owl House. That can wait though, time for Chapter 2!

I own NOTHING from The Owl House.

Charles and Alexandria are just two of the citizens who live peacefully by the town of Bonesborough. They currently stand at the top of the wealthiest families on the Boiling Isles. Although their house was no fancy mansion or manor, they could resort their hard earned money to other resources that benefit them. The two of them work alongside Alador and Odalia, the parents of Amity, as well as Samson and Marcy, the parents of their gifted daughter Skara.

Much like their workmates, Charles and Alexandria were proud parents of their own little girl: Boscha. Who they've been spoiling rotten ever since she was born; giving her the best amount of presents and money she could ask for. They were always at the top of their game, keeping a low profile from anyone they deemed 'peasants'.

Boscha was a very happy kid growing up. Getting attention from her parents, and earning Skara as a friend when they were still young. The group of parents thought they would be perfect for each other, and set them up.

But at a certain point in her life, she lost the sense of innocence to a child.

There came a time where she wanted to be more independent. How exactly, she couldn't remember, but it would kick off a train of events that led up to where she is now. Pushing her parents off her back and talking down to anyone who thought lowly of her. It caught the attention of Alador and Odalia, who were rather impressed by her attitude. Although Odalia mostly saw it as a means to push her youngest daughter Amity to be cold and apathetic for the rest of her life. Through this new lifestyle, Boscha became friends with Skara, at first out of force from their parents.

Despite their initial judgement, Boscha and Skara were actually very close friends. That first experience of having a real friend in life was exciting for both of them. Boscha finally had someone around her age on her same level and staying strong and sturdy. Compared to Boscha though, Skara would only join in on the occasional teasing instead of inacting it herself. She thought better than to give others a hard time, but still wanted to do it as a bystander if it meant she could stay friends with Boscha. Even through Boscha's bitter moments, Skara tried to see a soft soul burried underneath her persona.

In reality, there was no soft soul within Boscha anymore. For the next few years entering Hexside, she got much worse. And part of that was thanks to her relationship with Amity. Despite the Blight girl's reluctance to befriend Boscha at a point where she got bitter, she was ultimately forced to be her friend anyway. Which forced her to push Willow away for so long. Even though Boscha, Skara, and Amity seemed like good friends, the latter actually hated being so. Boscha meanwhile, thought having a friend of a high class family made her look better than everyone at school. This would also be where she became friends with Amelia and Cat.

Boscha had a tendency to put pressure on others, even if it wasn't their fault.

When Luz arrived in the Boiling Isles, Boscha thought nothing of her. Her parents considered humans a low species, and felt it better to either tease her or just leave her out of her life.

Until Amity started going soft on her.

And soon enough, Willow came back into her life too.

Boscha put all that blame on Luz for slowly taking her friends away from her. In reality, Boscha's attitude was the soul reason people were drifting away. Thanks to Luz's exposing of her ways, her own friends vanished.

Then that moment happened at the Blossoming Tree festival.

"Idiot..." the girl mumbled to herself. All these thoughts were stuck on her thought train for an unknown length of time. She wasn't one to admit it sometimes, but she knew all of this was her fault.

All those years of building up her persona and sticking to her guns, shattered and faded away. People were seeing the kind of person she was, and blaming them for it wasn't helping.

Now Luz and Willow were the popular students at school alongside Amity. But they deserved it.

Boscha deserved nothing.

The minute she stepped inside her house, she was greeted by her parents having a discussion at the table.

"You know this disagreement is going to decrease our funds, right?" Charles asked in a quiet tone.

"I know dear. I know." Alexandria nodded slowly. "But I can't tolerate our work partners attempting to end the life of a child, even if it is a human. I don't even think we should let Boscha spend time with Amity anymore."

Boscha quickly put the pieces together. It seems as if Charles and Alexandria were cutting ties off with Alador and Odalia for their efforts to kill Luz. Let alone hearing they wanted to keep her away from Amity. The damage was already done, so her parents were only serving a reminder to their current situation.

She only wanted to get home and into her room to have some alone time, and this was what she had to put up with now? Then again, perhaps they could make Alador and Odalia out to be nasty people.

"It doesn't matter anyway. Our funds are still high, and they can't do anything to us." Alexandria continued.

"I suppose you're right dear." Charles nodded in agreement. But then he began to chuckle to himself. "At least one thing's for certain. We can now make Boscha out to be the best daughter."

"Ah yes!" Alexandria smiled. "Boscha is clearly more dignified than Amity ever will be!"

Boscha's third eye started to twitch.

"Looks like you've won your little competition."

"At least we're good parents."

Bragging. Exactly like her.

Now they've done it.

"Oh shut up!"

The two adults were quickly alerted by the words they just heard from their daughter. They turned their heads to greet Boscha, who now had her eyes glued to them with anger fueling her body.

"Boscha!" Alexandria gasped. "That is not a way to greet your own parents!"

"Save it Mom!" Boscha barked back. All those thoughts of wanting to be alone were pushed aside. Now she was mad. "What makes you think I'm even remotely better than Amity?!"

"Pipe it down, child!" Charles demanded. "You take a look at yourself and realise you're not the daughter of two people that tried to kill someone!" He pointed his finger towards her, causing her to knock it away.

"Yeah well that doesn't mean her parents leave an impact on her! Amity doesn't take pride in making others miserable! She strides to be better, and look where that got her! Now everybody likes her, and she has a girlfriend!" Boscha's volume was getting quieter to her father's demand, regardless of how frustrated she was.

"That would only make her look soft. It's exactly the words you use for anyone." Charles pointed out. "Besides, you don't get romantically interested in those of your gender. It's silly."

Boscha could swear she could feel her pupils getting smaller. If anyone deserved the harsh comments other than Amity, it was her. "She can like whoever she wants!"

"Oh calm down, dear!" her mother said sternly. "There is no need to get irritated at this moment! I will not have you associated with the daughter of murderers!"

"Me and Amity stopped hanging out anyway! She's better off without me!"

"Hmm, perhaps you haven't changed a bit." Charles grinned.

"I don't want to be that person anymore!" Boscha snapped back at him. "I'm sick of getting the cold shoulder from everyone!

"You have been living this lifestyle for years! Get used to it! We expect better than that from our own daughter!"

"Now apologise for your disgusting language!" Alexandria ordered. "You have no right to lash at your own parents!"

Internally, Boscha was literally screaming. She wanted to let that out so badly at her parents for both ruining her quiet time, and bad mouthing Amity, but at this point, she had enough of her parents' ridiculous rants. She ran right past her mother and towards her bedroom, without a word.

"Boscha! Get back here this instant!"

SLAM!

The sound of that door echoed through the kitchen, taking the adults by surprise. Not just the noise, but the level of anger Boscha just portrayed. Alexandria could hardly remember the last time her daughter has been this angry. Perhaps it was wrong of them to talk back to her like that when she only just came home.

"Oh dear..." she whispered. "She looked really upset."

"Just give her some time alone." Charles grumbled, feeling a bit unsympathetic for the girl who just caused a scene. "She can come back out when she's learned to keep her volume low." He stood up from his seat and went into the master bedroom.

Alexandria meanwhile, still stood there in disbelief. As Boscha would know, she had a fairly close relationship with her daughter before this new cynical side took affect for her. She believed that sense of love and care would keep Boscha going in her positive light. But encounters with Alador and Odalia only made things worse, despite seeming decent at first. They knew now was the best time to cut ties before they rubbed their influences even further.

Even still, Alexandria wanted to make Boscha out to be the better daughter of the two. She loved her so much that she could hardly withstand the idea of her work partner's own seeming worse. Thus, that sweet side for both of them was taking a backseat.

She had to comply though. Boscha would never want to see them again after the moment that just unfolded. Reluctantly, Alexandria followed her husband to the master bedroom. But one thing's for certain.

She would be there for her baby girl when she needed to.

Boscha meanwhile, stood behind her door for some time after slamming it. Her heart was racing, on a steady pace to ease. Part of her wished she hadn't yelled at her parents, when she very well could've ignored them and go for her room. Yet she still did it, technically for Amity's sake. Boscha knew that she'd never want to be her friend again, so why was she standing up for her?

At first it seemed the reason was to keep Amity away from her family's drama, when she's already having to deal with living away from her natural home. She does have Luz, but that feeling of a nice home isn't entirely there.

She made a good point though. Amity was far better in nearly every category.

It really was worth yelling at her parents for that.

Then, Boscha was briefly interrupted by the dozens upon dozens of trophies that she's earned for the last few years. Trophies that she always kept to herself regardless of her team's efforts.

And any reminder of who she was, ate her up inside. Without that, her friends wouldn't have left her.

She wouldn't be by herself.

All serving as a slap in the face to the idiot she proclaimed she was.

Boscha covered her eyes as much as she could, and slumped on her bed, opening them again when she was facing the wall. Reminding her that she's stuck in this situation, and a wall of hate is obstructing her. She turned over to look at the ceiling, a sigh escaping her mouth.

Reluctantly, she brought out her scroll to see if anything had decided to change on Penstagram.

Nearly everyone she knew had blocked her.

In a sudden fit of despair, she threw her scroll towards her mirror, causing it to poof away into dust. Burying her head into her pillow, Boscha screamed. It wasn't loud enough for anyone to hear her, though she could care less. She lifted her head up and turned to her right again, thinking now was best to try and have a nap.

Or would that just give her nightmares in her coincidental crisis?

"..."

It wasn't loneliness anymore.

Boscha was utterly depressed.

She closed her eyes to try and have a nap, when her ears twitched at a sudden sound. She looked back and noticed her door was slightly open, and her mother was standing before it. With a look of worry and regret, Boscha looked confused.

"Boscha, sweetie. Are you alright?" Alexandria asked in a calm tone.

"What do you want, Mom?" Boscha responded in a slightly irritated tone.

"I don't mean to be a bother," her mother responded approaching her. "I just wanted to check on you."

"I'm... fine..."

"No you're not."

Boscha lifted her eyes up. "What?"

"No, you're not fine." Alexandria folded her arms. "If you were, you wouldn't be moping."

The last word she said caused Boscha to slump back on the bed, trying to face away from Alexandria. "Just leave me alone."

"I simply wanted to apologise for what happened before." Alexandria rubbed her arm, looking away from her daughter. "I've had some time to think about it, and wanted to check on you." She places her hand on Boscha's shoulder, which didn't trigger a reaction. "Now, can you please tell me why you're feeling down?"

"No."

"If you don't, I won't leave you alone." Alexandria actually laughed a little when she said that. Boscha was thrown off by this sudden attitude, and turned back to her.

Alexandria raised her eyebrow when her eyes met her daughter, and Boscha knew now she had no choice but to confess.

"Alright, fine..." Boscha quietly sat up, and faced her mother. "So... you know how I've been acting like a jerk for the last few years?"

"Well dear, you have shown a rather negative attitude for as long as I can remember."

"Yeah... it finally caught up to me, but not before I did some stupid things."

Alexandria leaned forward in concern. "What stupid things...?"

Boscha felt like a frozen pillar had just stabbed her heart. She dreaded the thought of revealing these events to her own parents, but her mother was here now. She could easily lie, but would that even help her situation?

It never would.

She swallowed thickly, and twiddled her thumbs around. "I was being mean to people at school, and I always made them feel bad for something, even if it wasn't their fault. I forced my friends to stick around with me, and never go hang out with anyone." She rubbed her eye to prevent anything that might come. "I can't even figure out properly why I did it... was it to just make myself look stronger? Or was it to make people fear me so much?"

"You should never make others afraid of you."

"I know that now..." Boscha sighed. "But I still pushed my own friends to do better, and I don't think they appreciated it. I guess they did a good job of showing it, but I don't know." She thought back to people like Skara, who despite being her best friend, still had issues with her attitude.

Even though she stuck around for a long time. An admirable feat for someone like her.

Boscha felt a lump in her throat, but she wanted to swallow.

"And Amity..."

She suddenly lifted her knees up and placed her face forward. Saying this next sentence would kill her. "I exposed a really deep secret of her's to a large crowd of people..."

As expected, her mother gasped. "Oh my goodness."

"I know..." Boscha looked back up into Alexandria's eyes. "Everyone was so surprised, and left me behind..."

It was getting harder to fight back her emotions, with every sentence making it worse. After that one though, she could feel warm liquid forming in her eye sockets.

She didn't want to do it now, not when she's nearly fifteen years old.

"And how did you handle that?"

The calm tone of Alexandria sent chills up Boscha's spine. Somehow, it caused her tears to get more noticeable. Now she was really acting considerate, no matter what she would say.

Those moments of the overbearing mother came back to help her this time.

Boscha was finally ready for it.

"I blamed it on them!"

And just like that, Boscha unleashed her contained tears onto her knees. Floodgates opened, in an uncontrollable state.

Without hesitation, Alexandria wrapped her free hands around her daughter, embracing her into a warm and gentle hug. Boscha continued her sobbing onto her chest, failing to notice exactly what her mother was doing. Alexandria began to wrap her arms around Boscha's back and gently rocked her back and forth in her grasp.

"There there sweetheart. It's alright, I'm here."

The three-eyed girl held a tight grip around her mother's arms, with her crying coming to ease each second. She wished she hadn't, it made her look like a baby. Her mother was there for her though, cuddling her like a little baby like she used to. Boscha missed the times when she was nicer, because people properly liked her for it.

At least this was a reassurance that with the right attitude, it could never leave her.

"Okay..." she quietly sniffled. "I'm okay now."

"So your issue is that you've lost your friends, and don't know how to get them back?" Alexandria asked softly, to which Boscha nodded. "Have you attempted to apologise?"

"I doubt they'd wanna see me..."

"Well, when your father and I were still young, we had some... disagreements. Most of it was my doing, so in order to make up for it, I wrote him a letter and gave him a token of appreciation, so he would see how sorry I truly felt."

Boscha's face lighted up a tad red from this conversation, though chose not to explain why. Deep down, she had a secret that was kept for a few months that only came into her mind just recently. It even took her back to something Luz asked her during Potions Class this morning. "So... get something special for them?"

"If you choose to, that is." Alexandria reassured. "But that's how I see it.

"Alright... I'll see what I can do." Boscha smiled again. "Thank you. I think I'll be okay now."

"Are you sure, dear?" Alexandria asked. "I can stay here for as long as you need me to."

"Thank you, but really, I'll be okay." She meant it this time. Crying can sometimes help her control her emotions better, which might explain why she couldn't in the past. But technicalities could wait. Her mother rubbed her hair gently, and started to stand up to head for the door. When she opened it, she turned back to her.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight sweetheart."

And with that, Alexandria closed the door gently, and Boscha laid back on her bed, feeling more confident than she did before. It felt really nice to get some family comfort that she didn't get in years. She really did forget that satisfaction of being nicer to earn love from others. More importantly, it was her that needed to start showing love to others that she cared about. To Amelia, to Cat, and especially to Skara. Her best friend deserved much more than that.

Much more than she thought deep down.

Perhaps, Boscha could even attempt to make ammends with Willow as well. Not to brag that she was wrong, but to really prove to her that she was willing to change for the better and not for the sake of bringing her friends back into her life. From the words of Luz herself, they could actually be really good friends if Boscha was willing to treat her with respect. She knew Willow wasn't the kind to hold grudges against others, despite feeling agitated at times.

Amity though, would be a much harder person to handle. Boscha dreaded the thought of facing her alone, as Amity has shown from time to time to be emotionally fragile. She could wait though, her closest friends needed this attention first.

Knowing that she had a plan for the weekend, Boscha silently turned out her light and just laid on her bed peacefully - Not a single thought of getting into her PJs, or under the covers. The comfort was already there without them.

She drifted to sleep, at ease.

"Mmf!" King exclaimed, digging into a large piece of meat on the floor. He was surrounded by the residents of the Owl House, as well as the Blight children. They all had their own respective types of food, eating together in the main area.

"So what did you kids say this delivery thing was called again?" Eda asked with her mouth full.

"Fly By Eats." Emira explained. "It's this sort of service you can use to get your own dinner delivered to you. Edric was the one who told me about it, for very obvious reasons."

"I mean you can't blame me for being a bad chef." Edric said between his scoops.

"Well you paid for it, so I'm gonna like having you two here." Eda smirked.

"Edalyn, surely you'd know better than to take advantage of children." Lilith cleared her throat.

"So! Lovebirds!" Eda pointed towards Luz and Amity sitting together. The two girls' cheeks turned pink when they heard their names together, directing their eyes to Eda. "How did everyone react to you two at school?"

Luz and Amity looked at each other, noticing their blushing getting bigger. "Umm... people reacted, fine?" Amity spoke first.

"We've uhh... kinda become the talk of the school." said Luz.

"Good job kiddo." Eda smirked. "You're taking in the old habits of me. Being a popular student and getting away with everything."

"Except not being a troublemaker," Lilith pointed out.

"Whatever," Eda made a gesture to leave her sister out of this conversation. "Point is, you two have a name to live up to, so make every moment count! It'll stick with you as you get older."

"And how are you all finding the Owl House so far?" Lilith asked.

"Well, it's a nice place to live in," Emira started. "but I guess I'm not used to living in something below my standards."

"I've gotten used to it over time," said Lilith. "You might think at first that living in a house like this is crummy and awkward, but be grateful for the fact that you're living with people that care about you."

"That is true." Edric commented.

"Yeah... It's gonna be really hard to go back to our manor knowing our parents will try to punish us," said Amity.

"Don't worry about those freaks," Eda reassured. "By the time you decide to go back, we'll give those two some 'education.'"

"Until then, you get to stay with us!" Luz said excitedly. "The more company the merrier!"

"Yaaaaaaaaaaay!" Hooty shouted from outside.

"Oh yeah, and I can't stand that owl thing..." Emira grumbled.

"Same."

Everyone's eyes shot open when they realised they all said it at the exact same time. This caused Amity to start laughing, and that made Luz laugh too. Soon, Edric joined in as did Emira. Eda, Lilith, and King just stared in shock for a moment, but casually proceeded to eat their dinner. For the Blights, they at least felt glad to be with people that cared about them. Sometimes they'd even forget what it was like to have a happy family.

"That was so good!" said Luz. "I could eat that again if I wanted to!" She suddenly burped out loud, and quickly covered her mouth with pink cheeks. Her eyes turned to Amity, who looked a bit surprised, until she let out a few chuckles.

"You goofball."

Standing face to face in the bathroom, Amity was brushing her teeth with a very neutral look. Although on the inside, she felt at peace for once in a lifetime. Although she was stripped away from her home, she's enjoyed her time here at the Owl House so far.

Of course, most of that was thanks to Luz. The last two days spent with her new girlfriend were some of the happiest moments Amity's ever had in her life. Her greatest fear of being rejected was thrown off her mind, ecstatic that the girl she had a crush on also had the same feelings for her. She'd always love to bunk with Luz in her bedroom, despite having her own next to Edric and Emira's shared room.

Most of the time, Amity could never resist her precious moments with her human dork. She really needed this after the confrontation with her parents. It seemed like every hour that passed by during those events was like a death sentence wishing to be laid upon. Amity was scared of the outcome that she might have to face, but she's all the more grateful that she got help when she needed it.

After rinsing her toothbrush and cleaning her mouth, she left the bathroom and began to head for Luz's. It may be a bit rude to barge in when Luz didn't ask, but Amity knew she'd come asking her to bunk anyway. She was a hopeless romantic, that's for sure.

Before she entered though, Eda's voice called to her. "Hey, Amy. Come here for a second."

Amity's cheeks turned red from that. Did Luz really have to tell her the nickname she gave? That should've been more of a couples thing. Ignoring that, she turned around. "Yes, Eda?"

"I need to talk to you about something. Don't expect this kind of language from me, but I think now's a good time to tell you."

"Am I in trouble?"

"No, you're not." Eda kneels down in front of Amity to give her a serious look. "Listen, this isn't really about you. It's about Luz."

Amity started to look worried. "What's wrong with Luz?"

"Nothing's wrong with her, but..." Eda looked down at her chest, and clenched it tightly. "There's going to be a number of times where I won't be here for her. This curse is going to bite me back eventually, and I'm going to need someone to look after her."

"Oh, I see." Amity responded quietly.

Eda put her hand on Amity's shoulder. "I'm happy for you and Luz. I really am. But I hope you realise you're gonna have to start taking some responsibility with her. She's faced two instances of near death, and I won't always be there to pull her out. And now that Belos knows about her..." she felt a small lump in her throat. "I don't want anything to happen to her."

Amity nodded, understanding the situation by what she saw during her healing stage. "I wouldn't want anything to happen to her either."

"I know that for a fact. You literally put yourself between her and Grom that night, without anything to show for it!" Eda said in awe. "I guess that's what true love can do to you."

"Yeah... seems like it!" Amity's cheeks turned crimson from the reminder.

"Anyway, I hope you get what I'm saying. Look out for her and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid. Besides, I know for a fact you're gonna be the more mature one of your little relationship."

"Well, I didn't try for it to be that way." Amity shook herself a bit to fade her pink cheeks away. "But yes, I get what you're saying. I promise to look after Luz for you."

"Atta girl," Eda scratches Amity's hair. "And don't stop loving her too." She stands up and yawns, before heading towards her room. "Alrighty, sleep time. See ya tomorrow kid."

"Goodnight Ms. Edalyn." Amity waved slowly. She rubbed her arm from the talk, and made her way to Luz's bedroom. Many thoughts were coming into mind on how she was going to handle a big responsibility. It was like Eda was asking her to look after Luz like a daughter.

In a way though, Amity knew Luz would be okay. She's faced the Emperor once, and made it out alive. But lucky chances don't always come, and Eda's curse seems to be getting worse over time. Although Willow and Gus were other friends to stay close by, Amity was closer to Luz than she was. She had to stay strong for this girl, and keep her safe.

Simply be the perfect girlfriend.

Opening the door to her bedroom, Amity was surprised to see that the window was open, and Luz was nowhere in sight. Panic immediately flowed into her mind, and she rushed towards it. "Luz?! Luz! Where are you?!"

"Hey Amity! I'm over here!" Luz's voice echoed from nearby. Amity carefully popped her head through the window, and noticed Luz was sitting by the edge of the roof, staring up at the sky.

"Luz! You scared me for a moment!" Amity cried. "Get back in here, you could fall off!"

"Oh relax Blight, if I fall, Hooty would catch me." Luz gestured for Amity to come over.

"Luz..."

"Come on! It'll be worth it, I promise!"

Swallowing her fear, Amity stuck her foot out the window and carefully made her way to Luz's position while maintaining her balance. She was afraid to fall off, partially so she wouldn't have to deal with Hooty again. Eventually, she made it to where Luz was, and took a seat next to her.

"Alright, I'm here, now would you mind explaining why you're out here?"

Luz turned to Amity for a brief second, and waved her hand out in front of her. When Amity turned to her front, her eyes were met with the beautiful view of the Boiling Isles. The stars shining in the sky, the moon glowing from behind the clouds, and a peaceful breeze illuminating through the forest of peace.

Once the view was set, the fears Amity was building up were going away, if just to enjoy this peaceful moment with her girlfriend. She rested her arms back and slouched a bit backwards, getting a nicer view of the scenery.

Luz smiled at Amity, who still had her eyes focused on the scenery. She made a promise to Boscha that she'd give Amity this opportunity to enjoy this moment, and now she did.

There was nothing more satisfying than seeing her girlfriend look so happy. She needed this.

"Wow, this is beautiful, Luz."

"Yeah..." Luz said softly. "But I realised something now."

"What?"

"This isn't as beautiful as you."

Amity's eyes shot up, completely caught off guard by this sudden compliment from Luz. When was the last time she even got a compliment like that from someone close to her? It seemed like an eternity. And it seemed like a reminder of this new lifestyle she was in. She had people who loved her, she had a new home that wasn't like a prison cell.

All of this was thanks to Luz.

And it started to put tears in her eyes.

"Amity?" Luz gasped. "Oh my gosh, I didn't mean to make you cry!" But before she had a chance to say anything, Amity suddenly hugged her, very tightly too. Luz was caught off by this, but she returned the hug as well, squealing a tiny bit in the process. "Aww, you're welcome."

Once the hug was done though, Amity made no hesitation to leave a kiss on Luz's lips, making the latter's eyes shoot up and cheeks turn bright red. After she was settled though, Luz smiled back at Amity, and leaned in to give her another kiss. This time, it lasted longer, and they found themselves wrapping arms around each other.

This was perhaps the first time they decided to make out, which was appropriate for teenagers. The scenery helped it a lot, and the two girls were confident in keeping each other happy.

Going to sleep could wait.

This was a dream come true.

In case you noticed, yes! Some bits here are directly taken from my scrapped story "New Family." Figured it was nice to give them a new home.
