A/N Ok so this is the next chapter, don't worry I'm still working on AD, I've just been struggling a little with the angst that will come in that chapter. But on the subject of 'Late', I hope you enjoy this fairly short, fluffy chapter... Please Read and Review.

Late Chapter 2

Rory woke up late and alone. It took her a second to realize where she was, there was a glass of water next to the bed which she took a happy drink of as she climbed out of bed. She headed into the lounge/kitchen area where Logan was sitting on the large sofa with a coffee and his laptop. Seeing her he shut his laptop and got up to greet her with a kiss.

'Hey gorgeous. Do you want your only coffee now or can you wait for an hour and have it with brunch. Finn called, Colin apparently upset at you both heading out here has thrown a fit and is arriving from the States' he checked his watch 'in forty-five minutes' Rory smiled, the boys were closing ranks to support whatever she and Logan wanted to do long term.

'First off, do not cut me off from the nectar of the gods, I'll cut down to two cups per day regular strength or one Gilmore brew,' she smirked 'second I think that Finn at least suspects about the bean, he tried to first get me drunk, then offered me coffee before calling me mother causing me to burst into tears before we got on the plane yesterday, and thirdly I love you but what is your plan here. You asked me to marry you Logan but I can't be your mother, I can't be Emily that would kill me. I want my degree at least.'

Logan nodded along with her, he could see where she was coming from. She had made the right call in Finn, but whilst he was the loveable rogue both he and Rory knew he wasn't stupid. Her reaction to finding out she was pregnant was exactly what he would have wanted, he was the first she had explicitly told apart from Lane who was apparently going through the same process. Logan was doing the maths too, she was only at most a few weeks along, so her due date would be the middle to end of January, 'Rory I would never stop you from getting your degree, personally, I would hope that you would rethink the whole 'foreign correspondent' angle but we can make it work if that's what you really want. Theoretically, we could swing you taking another semester off, after Christmas to the end of the school year and then you go back the following September would work, I want to talk to my Dad about transferring to Hartford or New York at least, I plan on doing that on Wednesday when he flies in.' he stopped talking as Rory looked at him tearfully again and he just held his arms out and she entered them for a hug, 'I need to stop crying…' she laughed as he wiped the tears away and kissed her.

'Babe you're pregnant it's allowed. It's been a big thirty-six hours for you including a transatlantic flight. Speaking of which, did you tell your Mom that you were coming, she left me a message asking if I had heard from you? I told her you were here and safe. I just said that you missed me.' Rory shook her head 'I couldn't deal with her Logan. I've been having to pretend that I'm ok with what she did, she told Luke 'Now or Never'- a man who took ten years to ask her out, then she had to propose to him, and upon hearing an answer to an ultimatum she wasn't happy with she ran.' Rory shook her head as Logan guided her to the sofa, where she was pulled into his lap.

'She ran to my father who after nearly twenty years was finally being my Dad, stepping up, being what I needed him to be and she goes and sleeps with him. He left message after message, for her and she is now 'dating him'' she used air quotes to emphasize her point 'please tell me how you can 'date' the father of your only child.' she was crying again. Her frustration at her mother showing through.

'This is supposedly the dream but all I want to do is run because when it goes wrong I'm going to be stood there having to pick again. I had to choose when I was little. I had to choose when I was seventeen. I've always chosen my Mom but she is in the wrong here. Why can't my parents be adults? I'm the freaking kid. I mean I'm an adult too something she will conveniently forget the second she finds out that I'm pregnant and engaged.' Her frustration caused her to stand and start pacing. Logan let her he needed to hear this.

'Dad is just going along with it because he has never been able to get over her. She has never let him, every time he has tried she has reeled him back. She did it when he was with Sherry before he knew about Gigi and now it's the same. No wonder the Hayden's hate me, my entire existence has put a leash around Dad's neck. Pulling him back to a relationship that is no good for him. All they do is hurt each other.' suddenly a realization hit Rory, as she turned to face Logan. Panic clearly written on her features.

'You do know that I didn't get pregnant on purpose right? God what if that's what your parents think, what everyone will think? Grandma and Grandpa, they're going to be so disappointed in me. They'll think they've failed again...' and with that, she burst into sobs that had him pulling her to him, her head in his chest as she cried.

Her rant, which was nothing new to him was of epic proportions. He would have to look up when mood swings started because this seemed particularly rapid thinking as she switched between happy, to angry to fearful, then irritation then back to anger then to fearful again. If he wasn't on the receiving end of it it would almost be funny, except she was sobbing into his chest and making him yet again worry if this was the right decision for them. Suddenly she reached up to him and kissed him full on the mouth. Just like that, there was another swing. The boys were going to love this. She hadn't even had any caffeine yet.

He pulled back from her kiss, 'slow down Rory. you're upset and not thinking clearly. We need a plan. You're what five weeks at the moment?' Rory nodded as Logan continued. 'Ok so that puts your due date at the end of January, do you want to get married before the baby is born, or do you want to wait?'

Rory looked at him and thought for a second. 'Is Mr. Commitment Phobe offering me the ultimate commitment practically overnight.' she laughed and shook her head 'I don't expect you to marry me right away Logan. I didn't say yes because I'm pregnant. I said yes because I love you. I want to marry you with my Grandparents and Mom there. I'm frustrated at her, not to the point of cutting off contact. Though if she does what she did a year ago I won't be responsible for my actions.' Logan nodded. He agreed with that sentiment.

'Rory if she does what she did a year ago I think there'll be a line around the block from the people who care about you, telling her off. And that line baby will start with me.' Rory smiled and stood up and kissed him, before pulling back, clamping her hand over her mouth, and running to the bathroom, where she proceeded to throw up.

Logan was right behind her holding her hair and stroking her back gently. When she was finished he handed her a glass of water, followed by a new toothbrush. At his comment of 'and so it begins' she gave him a death glare in the mirror which caused him to chuckle, making her laugh too.
