Oluo enters the captain's quarters without knocking.

"Sir, what happened with Petra?"

The anger in his voice is obvious, but Levi looks him straight in the eye, so calm that makes Oluo even more furious.

"Save your temper for outside the walls" Levi says.

"What happened with you and Petra?" he repeats louder.

"Not your damn business".

"If she's crying, it's my business, sir!"

Shit.

"What did you do to her?" Oluo shouts.

Levi no longer has that stoic expression on his face. Yet he doesn't say a thing. And that pisses him off!

But no. Anger isn't going to solve anything. Oluo must help Petra. And in order to do so, he has to know what happened. But since the captain won't share his side of events, Oluo takes the first step and explains the situation as far as he knows:

"We were hanging out at the kitchen. Petra, Eld, Gunther and I. We were teasing Petra because you make her skip all the hard work. She got really angry and said she'd go and talk to you. And the next thing I know is seeing her heading for her bedroom. In tears".

He hadn't seen her cry in a while. Sure, she was kind and caring, but after joining the Survey Corps something changed in her.

That's why her tears startled him very much.

"Petra and I grew up together, in the same neighborhood" Oluo continues. "I want to make sure she is treated well. If you don't think she is good enough for your squad, then I am leaving with her".

"I never said that, Oluo. I appreciate both of you as soldiers".

"Then why is Petra upset?"

"I'll deal with that personally. I appreciate that you let me know".

"But—"

"Keep in mind that I have the best intentions. There's no need for you to interfere any further. Petra wouldn't want that".

Oluo takes a deep breath. He trusts this man with his life on the battlefield. He can trust him now too. He doesn't know him very well, at least not like Petra does, but he knows that he's not the cold-minded killer everyone thinks he is.

He's seen him comfort dying soldiers he'd never met before. He's heard him saying kind words to mourning parents about their sons and daughters that didn't make it back. He's seen him feed other soldiers' horses.

He can help Petra too.

"Fine, captain. I'll trust your judgement".

Levi gives him a nod of appreciation.

They leave the room together. Oluo heads right and Levi left, towards Petra's room.

"You know, you're not the only one that cares deeply about her" Levi says just before they part ways.

Oluo returns to the kitchen. He knows Petra is in good hands. They all are.
