Walter was scared to say the least about starting a new school. But Buzz and Ozma knew it could be scary but they knew it was going to be fine. "I'm really scared," Walter said.

"I know the first day may seem a little scary but don't worry it's going to be okay," Ozma said.

"Yes you are going to be fine Walter, remember everyone gets scared when facing something new," Buzz said.

"Okay," Walter said.

So Walter was taken to school. "Hello Walter I am Principal Alexanders. How are you doing today?" Mr. Alexanders asked.

"I'm fine," Walter said.

"Good now I hope you are ready to meet your teacher," Mr. Alexanders said. He took Walter down the hall. Then to a classroom. "Hello everyone this is Walter Lightyear, he's new here, I hope all of you make him feel right home," he said.

"Hello Walter I am Ms. Leo welcome to our Third grade class." Ms. Leo said. "find an empty desk," she said.

Walter looked around and sat down next to young boy who had glasses and next a girl who looked a little worried. "Walter how about you introduce yourself to the class." Ms. Leo said.

"I am Walter Lightyear, I was originally from an orphanage and was adopted few days ago by Buzz Lightyear and Ozma Furbanna Lightyear." Walter said. "I am still getting use to things and I hope to make lots of new friends and do well in school." he said.

"Well Walter we are glad you have family now and I know for fact that there are several kids in this school who have been adopted just like you," Ms. Leo said.

"Hi Walter I am David Vex," David said he was the boy next to Walter.

"Hi David," Walter said sitting back down. "What is your name?" he asked.

"M-my n-n-name is B-B-B-Betsy J-J-Jet." she said.

"Look the broken record player and four eyes have a friend!" one of the kids said laughing.

Some of the other kids started to laugh too. Walter didn't think it was funny. Later they started to pass out Valentines and Walter looked at his and there was quite a few.

Walter started to go to school for a few weeks and noticed that the kids made fun of David and Betsy. The one who did it the most was a kid name Rodney Martol. Today he Walter saw Rodney bothering them.

"C-c-c-c-c-come on w-w-we j-just want t-t-t-t-t-t-to go to c-class," Betsy said.

"Yes let us go to class," David said.

"You won't go until I say so," Rodney was big for his age and very intimidating.

Walter decided enough was enough. "Leave them alone!" Walter shouted coming up to Rodney.

"What did you say to me Altion?" Rodney asked.

"I said leave them alone!" Walter said not backing down. "They just want to go class, so lay off them and they have a right to go through these halls without being hassled," he said.

"Well they are different from me so what is wrong with doing it because they different?" Rodney asked.

"So what if they are different they are still people of this universe, they have right to learn here and feel safe here, acceptance, honor, loyalty and strength in differences and to make a difference. That is what my space ranger father taught me," Walter said.

"Ha! Don't make laugh that is the dumbest thing I ever heard no back off and stay out of this," Rodney said.

"No I won't you leave my friends alone," Walter said. "I won't let you pick on them, I won't stand by for this because that is what friends do, and I won't even let you pick on anyone else if I see it, because I can't seeing this it is wrong and I won't let do it," Walter said. "Having to hurt people you need help," he said.

"That tears!" Rodney said and attacked Walter and hit him times. Then Walter pushed Rodney to defend himself and Rodney landed on his behind.

Rodney growled and then Mr. Alexanders came up. "What is going on here?" he asked.

"Walter pushed me to the ground because he got hurt today," Rodney said.

"That is not true," Walter said. "I pushed you because you were hitting me," he said.

"Was not!" Rodney said.

"Were too!" Walter said.

"Rodney is lying," David said.

"W-W-Walter is telling the t-t-truth, he was d-d-defending us b-b-because Rodney was picking on us." Betsy said.

"All of you to my office," Mr. Alexanders said and then looked at the security feed. "Rodney I am ashamed of your behavior. I will call your parents. Walter you stood up and did the right thing I am proud of you, now go to the nurse so she can get some ice on those places where you were hit." he said.

Walter came home and he had a black eye and few bruises. When he got home his Ozma saw. "Walter what happened?" she asked worrying.

"Bully beat me up for defending my friends from him," Walter said.

"Oh sweetie," Ozma said. "Does it hurt?" she asked.

"A little but not much," Walter said. "I'll be okay," he said.

"If you say so," she said.

Buzz came home and saw Walter. "Walter what happened to you?" he asked.

"He got hurt defend his friends from a bully," Ozma said.

"I did it because it was the right thing," Walter said.

"You did do the right thing Walter I am very proud of you," Buzz said.

"You think I can be a junior ranger?" Walter asked.

"Of course," Buzz said.

"Awesome," Walter said.

Once at Star command Walter was signed up to be a Junior ranger. Walter was walking around and then bumped into someone it was a young Jo-adian. "Yikes!" Walter said and ran to Ozma as the Jo-adian followed him giggling.

Booster was there talking to Buzz and Ozma. Walter was hiding behind Ozma. He looked up at his parents. "That's Benjy," Ozma said.

"He's Booster's younger cousin he's about your age," Buzz said.

"He's kind of shy isn't Booster?" Benjy asked.

"Maybe he wouldn't be if you would say hello isn't of springing on him like you did," Booster said.

"Hi Walter," Benjy said.

"Hi," Walter said rather shyly.

"Benjy is going to be staying with me for a while, and he's going to be a junior ranger," Booster said.

"Me too," Walter said.

Then David and Betsy came in they were going to be junior rangers too. "Benjy these are my friends David and Betsy," Walter said.

"I like your glasses," Benjy said.

"Thank you," David said.

"H-h-hi," Betsy said.

"Are you nervous?" Benjy asked. "I don't bite," he said.

"No I just h-h-h-have a st-st-st-stutter," Betsy said.

"Oh, I see," Benjy said.

"Don't worry about it Betsy one of my cousins has a stutter and I know how to be patient about that and I hope the others will be patient with you," Nebula said.

There were others there too. Mira brought in her and Fop's daughter Lyra. Lyra was going to be a Junior ranger too. "Hi I am Lyra," Lyra said.

"My name is Benjy," Benjy said.

"I am Walter," Walter said.

"My name is David," David said.

"I am B-B-Betsy," Betsy said.

There was much to see and do as a Junior ranger. Walter was very excited to say the least he was making lots of new friends. He had so much to look forward to in this new family.
