Felix punch Hannas again and since the pair were far away. Hannas could deal with the child directly. He set him down while kneeling in front of the boy.

"Why did you leave her!? She didn't want to die! I had the beam up! I could have saved her!" He screamed at him.

"You couldn't have saved her." Hannas said.

Felix's eyes showed fury as he stepped forward.

"What was that asshole?" He asked with his voice low.

"You didn't have the power to save her." Hannas spoke.

Felix had tears coming out of his eyes as they now began to slid down his cheeks. He threw a punch out in rage but Hannas caught it. The Man now crying which made Felix flinch back in shock.

"And I lack the courage to save her!" He shouted.

That's when Felix freely broke down. The child began bawling his eyes out while releasing a scream filled with pain. His face going into Hannas's chest as the man hug the child. Their moment of grief would have to be put on hold. They still had to leave the city. The pair had to get behind the main wall. After Hannas got the child onto a refugee boat did he went back to the front. He couldn't let Felix die. He was unable to save Carla but he had to save as many people as possible.

'It won't be long until they get here!'

Hannas rush to the gate house and saw the male lowering the gate. It was a hard choice. However, they couldn't risk letting the wall fall.

"Open fire!" An officer yelled.

The Garrison Regiment Soliders let loose a volley of cannon fire. Though every single cannon ball didn't make contact as no one had proper experience with them. The men were easily beginning to consider about running away.

"Come on! Get another volley up! We can still use our gear to scale the walls!" An officer yelled.

This seem to regroup the men as they began reloading the cannons. Their rally would be short lived as a Titan unlike any other appear from a corner. It had plating all over it's body but still at the same height as the average Titan. The Beast could see the gate being lowered and went into a full blown sprint. The Beast aim itself right at the garrison protecting the closing gate.

"Fire!" The Officer yelled again.

The second volley of cannon balls came flying and one of them hit the running Titan. The cannon ballbroke into dozens of pieces while The Armored Titan remain unaffected by the attack. The distance between the gate and the armored titan was closing. This cause everyone to run.

"What are you doing!?" The Officer shouted.

"We have to save ourselves!"

Too bad that it didn't matter as The Armored Titan squished a few people before colliding with the nearly closed gate. The Armored Titan cause another hole to appear inside of the main wall. This meant that Wall Maria was now breached insteae of Wall Shiganshina being breach.

"Oh my god!" A citizen cried.

"Launch the boats! Go! Go! Go!"

The boats were launch with Felix being immovable. He couldn't move. The child eyes had the life extinguish within them. Felix couldn't care anymore.

Flashback.

"You..."

"Dad what are you doing!? Ever since mom-"

Grisha held his son down while forcing a needle into his body. He could feel something going inside of him.

"I'm sorry but this is for your own-

The memory couldn't be fully recall as the next mintue everything happened too fast. His father screaming about the key and the basement. His Dad's crying face before seeing blood on his hands.

Flashback end.

Felix slowly open his eyes to feel a key in his hand. The boy clench the object on instinct.

'There's no point about the basement or some damn key.' Felix thought.

There really wasn't a point for anything. His Mother dead. His Father dead or missing. He couldn't really remember the flashback but he knew that it was real. The giveaway would be the key in his hand. His Father never left home without it.

'I'm alone...'

Felix didn't care where he was or when he last ate. It didn't matter. Nothing really mattered because he only felt loneliness. The coldness of solitude.

'I don't want to live anymore.' Felix thought.

The pain of losing his parents was too much to bear.

"We can use this as housing for the refugees." Someone said out on the steets.

Everyone there was at the very least military personal. After Wall Maria fell they needed more manpower in calming riots and preventing looting. It didn't help with the food shortages. They were already rationing bread and had taken meat off of the menu in many areas.

"Hange open the door." A blonde male ordered.

Hange had gave a nod of her head. The woman eyes were light brown that had a wideness to them. Her hair held the color of dark brown that would be kept in a messy ponytail. She wore a set of rectangle glasses. Her outfit consisted of The Survey's Corp's Uniform. She open the door without incident. Everyone raise their muskets or got out their swords. They burst into the building. The only person there was a child.

"Aside from the dead kid the area is clear." Hange commented.

However, a man's eyes narrow at the child. He saw the boy's eyes still having warmth to them. He knew when a solider died in battle. The Man had seen it countless times.

"Commander Erwin?" Someone asked.

Erwin had blonde color hair with his eyes holding an icy blue color. The man wore the same outfit as Hange. He walk towards the child and bended down. The Child's eyes move to take in the man. His body acting instinctively and tightening up getting ready to move.

"Don't worry we are going to help you. Come on."

Erwin gently pick the child and notice how he could feel the child's bones with ease. It seem that he hadn't eaten for who knows how long. His cheeks were pratically gone and you could see that his body was eating itself to keep the child alive. He brought the boy over to the group.

"He's still alive. Let's get him to a hospital." Erwin said.

"You can't be serious..." Hange replied.

She went to look at the child and sure enough. The boy still breath albiet barely.

"Damn, that's unexpected." Hange stated.

"I don't have time to take care of him but you on the other hand. You have plenty so check up on him from time to time." Erwin told Hange.

She wanted to protest but she owed Erwin a favor. They also needed to see if they could find the kid's parents. If the boy had any.

"Alright, only until he is discharge." Hange answered.

"That's good enough for me." Erwin said.

He handed the child off to Hange who took him to the hospital.

Sometime later.

Hange walk into the hospital and towards The Boy's room. A Nurse came out of the room with a look of irritation. She saw Hange coming towards her and voiced her frustrations.

"You brought him in! You knock some sense into that brat!" She yelled at Hange.

Hange maneuvered around the fuming nurse and into the room. She close the door shut to see that the child was sitting up in his bed. Hange saw that he had spit some food onto the bed. A sigh of refusal to eat the object. The woman slid her glasses off as she walk towards the child.

"You need to eat."

"I want to die." The boy said.

She got in front of him. Hange back handed the child. The boy's head move to the side. Hange saw the tray of food on the table next to the child bed's. She saw a spoon in the stew. She fill the spoon with food and turn the child's head towards her.

"Eat."

Hange slam the spoon into the boy's mouth. He wouldn't as he tried using his tongue to force the wooden spoon out of his mouth. She kept the spoon in his mouth. The woman pinching the boy's nose. He began struggling once his lungs demanded oxygen.

"I thought you wanted to die. Go ahead and choke to death."

The moment of truth arrive as she heard the child gulp the food down. Hange release the boy from her death hold. She saw the kid begin to cry. His instincts betrayed his want and showed him the truth. That he wanted to live.

"I...mom...she..." He croaked out.

'Survivors guilt.' Hange thought.

She grab the boy's shirt and lifted him up. Her eyes looking directly into his as she spoke.

"Then you have to live for them! They didn't risk their lives for you to quit! Get a grip! This is reality! Keep moving forward!" Hange yelled at the child.

She put him back on the bed. The woman hoping that would wake him up. He continued to cry while staying mute. She consider just killing him right then and there but finally. He spoke.

"Hungry." The Boy got out.

She put her glasses back on after putting them in her pocket. Good. Now things will be easier.

"You decide to grow a brain cell. Now eat up."

Since he was too weak to feed himself. Hange had to spoon feed him.

"What's your name?" She ask.

"...Felix." He answered.

"I have to be going but I'll be coming to check in on you. Don't be giving the staff a hard time or else." She warned.

When she glared at him in a threatening manner. Felix shiver in fear.

"I won't! I promise!" He shouted.

She gave him a smile at his response.

"I'll hold you to that~"

Hange left the room with her smile dropping. She gave out a breath of relief.

"Thank god." She told herself.
