Chapter 2

"We need to talk Jethro about what is on your mind?" she will say sitting across from him at the table.

"What's on my mind is two-fold Marcie with the way I am feeling for you and the fact that Director Vance had called me to let me know that I am going back to work in a week. But first I need to speak with Doctor Grace Confalone in order for me to go back."

"However I get the feeling there is something else that is holding you back for when it comes to working Jethro?" she will say getting the sense of his mood.

"There is mostly on whether or not I can keep myself in check after having my reputation ruined because of what I did with punching out the leader of the dogfighting ring," he exclaimed with a deep breath needing to let go of his stress.

"Since when did you ever listen to anyone talking about you other than your team?" She had gotten up to go over to him to hold him into her embrace before he decided to kiss her with passion behind it.

This had lasted a moment or two making Marcie out of breath. She now knew what exactly was on his mind. Even though she wasn't going to fight it either. "To answer your comment I have never Marcie except for when my team had found out about me shooting Pedro Hernandez 30 plus years ago a few years back. Ever since that time I have been trying to hide for the most part." he will say before kissing the woman again with his heart racing.

"Jesus that was over thirty years ago Jethro! If ever the police had found out. Do you think they will be able to put you in jail for that crime?" she will say with the question scaring him all of a sudden.

"I really don't know, and right now I don't wish to discuss it any further getting sidetracked?" he said with starting to eat their food. She had been watching his face with that look of being frightened.

It was at this point she started to talk about Phineas being almost abducted once again. "I do have a question that you're going to be able to answer?"

"What's that Marcie?" he said with munching on an egg roll for the moment.

"You had told me the details in regard to what had happened to Phineas getting away from those after him until they had realized why with Phineas offering up his bone marrow." she stopped for the moment.

"So what are you trying to get at Marcie?" Gibbs needed to know what was going on in her mind.

"Okay, what if it wasn't enough for the Uncle and the family in order to kidnap Phineas from his Aunt and Uncle once again?" she commented to have him shaking his head.

"OMG! I didn't think about that Marcie. I don't think that Phineas will be able to handle it without losing his loved ones. he's always on the edge for having to leave me again and with taking Lucy along with him. I didn't realize just how much killing his mother Sarah had affected him?" Gibbs cried out...

Bethesda hospital

Director Leon Vance having to be in the area decided to drop by Doctor Grace Confalone's office. He had walked into the outer office to let her know that Special Agent Gibbs will be calling her to set up a session with him.

Since her secretary wasn't around at the time he knocked on her door. "Come." she had to say through the door. She was drinking her bottled water when she looked up to see Vance. "What's up Leon?" she responded by placing the bottle of half-filled water onto the side of her.

"Just needed to let you know that Special Agent Gibbs is no longer on suspension Grace. SECNAV and the D.O.D. have decided to let him come back with the pressure of the public has died down." he quipped with his body language telling her something different.

"And what about yourself Director?" she had punched him in the stomach with the question.

"I have no choice since it wasn't up to me. At any rate, I need you to speak with him before heading back to work within the week. I just need to be sure that he's ready to come back to work?" he cried out ..."He's going to be calling you for an appointment Grace."

"Okay, but you still didn't answer my question Leon?" she was waiting for the answer to her question. And she wasn't liking the idea that he was availing the issue.

"I don't want him back, Doctor Confalone. He's a menace to society and mostly to himself and including NCIS. He's only going to be getting one more chance." he exclaimed with his hand slapping the side of his right leg for the moment.

"And if he doesn't toll the line WHAT HAPPENS then?" she suggested with grabbing her water bottle hating this conversation altogether.

"You know damn well what is going to happened Doctor Confalone? he's going to be fired for sure and Gibbs will be left out into the cold," he said heating up with his temper flaring ...

"Are you sure about that Leon?" she had been thinking about her previous chats with Gibbs about a certain file that was given to Gibbs many years ago by Trent Kort of the C.I.A. that has so much dirt of Director Leon Vance from years ago.

"And just what is that supposed to me?" he was livid with asking the question.

"Just forget it Director and just get out of my office now?" she ordered with the wave of her hand towards the door.
