2. And so it begins

Chapter 2 And so it begins

30th May 1993, Hospital wing, Hogwarts

Harry thoughts get broken when the screen opens and he sees a girl with fair hair but just a shade darker he will always recognize especially when beside the fair-haired girl he sees a girl with black hair. Both have their face covered for a second but Harry didn't need to their face. It is Daphne Greengrass and Tracey Davis his secret friends from Slytherin.

Daphne shows her face and asks "Harry are you alr….."

Daphne sees Ginny on top of Harry. Daphne narrows her eyes and if Harry didn't know she was mad then he knew Daphne is as she asks "Potter who is that girl lying on top of you and why is she doing that?"

Harry barely manages to smile. He always knew that if Daphne or Tracey is mad they use his last name while Hermione will use his full name. He glances at the bed where Hermione is although he can't look through his screen he just knows where she is.

Harry looks down, he knows it is Ginny but hopes she is still is asleep as Ginny needs it. He sighs when he sees she luckily is.

Harry asks "how do you know I am here?"

As Daphne is very mad Tracey says "Dumbledore said that the attacker was stopped and when we didn't saw you but we saw Neville and he confirmed what we suspected. You were in the thick of it not as the Heir of Slytherin of course but more like the reason that you stopped the attacker or something. Neville didn't want to say where you were, but … let's just say Daphne is very persuasive."

Tracey almost wants to laugh at her own comment as Daphne scared Neville shitless, but as a good friend of Harry, it saved him a bit of her fury as long as Neville tell them where Harry was what he did honestly did although he didn't mention as a girl lying on top of Harry if he knew.

Daphne is beyond pissed off. Not because Harry was in danger. Sure she was furious Harry was again but she was pissed off because some girl lies on top of him just when she accepts that she has feelings for him.

Daphne asks angrily "Potter?" barely keeping herself from screaming and hexing Harry and the girl for that matter.

Harry asks gently "Daphne please lower your voice? I don't want to wake her up."

As Harry doesn't continue Daphne reluctantly agrees while at the same time hating Harry has so much power over her even though he doesn't know. Daphne doesn't know why but that can wait for another time.

When Harry sees Daphne nod and Tracey just smile. He doesn't know why but Tracey smile as Daphne immediately complies with what Harry says although Tracey barely can contain herself from just nodding as Daphne did.

Harry says "this is Ginny Weasley. She is Ron's, Fred's, George's and Percy's little sister. She was dragged to the chamber of secrets and I just couldn't let her die. I together with Lockhart and Ron went to the chamber to save her. Lockhart is a fraud and when he tried to obliviate Ron and my memories to steal the story as he did to others Ron's broken wand made the curse rebound on Lockhart and also send him to the ceiling of the cave causing a cave in."

"Ron and Lockhart on one side and me on the other. I went on and manage to save Ginny. I was after all my fault. She is a first-year and I know how lonely it can be. I will do better, I want to do better. I want to become her friend no matter what Ron says. I shouldn't have let him call her names I should have stood up against Ron."

Daphne asks "what happened in the chamber of secrets?" not commenting on Harry's behaviour against Ginny. Daphne doesn't think it is her place to comment on Harry's behaviour against Ginny as she is a Slytherin and she talks with Harry, Hermione and barely Neville from Gryffindor what no one knows besides Tracey that was with her but she also is friends with Harry, Hermione and Neville. Besides them and Tracey, she doesn't see others as friends. She does like her dorm mates until Pansy started to act like Malfoy and Millicent also does.

Lilian on the other hand doesn't and seems to nice enough. Daphne is considering becoming closer to her and Tracey thinks it is a good idea as Lilian is like Tracey if you look at their character as they are both outgoing with friends and in private but know when to keep quiet and observe as she has shown in the dorm and around the school.

Ginny immediately grabs Harry again and push her head against Harry's chest again. He says "I don't want to talk about it. Let's just say it was dangerous and I don't want to bring up the traumatic experience from Ginny again and it isn't a fine memory for me too. Anyway, Ginny needs me and wouldn't let go of me or she would start to panic and it will distress her. She will need to rest Madam Pomfrey said so. For the chamber, I managed to stop the real attacker and therefore stop the attacks. Although it wasn't me that did the most it was Fawkes, the Phoenix from Professor Dumbledore I couldn't have done it without him."

Daphne and Tracey see Ginny try to push her head closer to Harry if humanly possible and that was only at the words chamber of secrets. Daphne and Tracey know that they can't ask further especially because Ginny is here and Harry seems protective of her but also knowing Harry good enough that he would not say anything further about the chamber.

Harry asks "Daphne, Tracey did you said Dumbledore told you in the Great Hall? So he is back?

They both nod and Harry thinks "I hope Ginny let me go soon I need to talk to Dumbledore."

Madam Pomfrey walks into the screen and isn't surprised to see Daphne and Tracey there. He says "ah Mr. Potter. Great you are awake. The Headmaster wants to talk to you. Is Miss Weasley able to let you go?"

Harry says "I don't know Madam Pomfrey. I haven't tried as you said I need to let her rest."

Madam Pomfrey smiles and says "that is good Mr. Potter, but try to let her go now."

He tries and Ginny immediately pull herself back onto him. Harry says what Daphne, Tracy and Madam Pomfrey hears "Ginny, you need to let me go. I need to speak with Professor Dumbledore, but you can stay here you need to rest."

Ginny is still asleep but her grip starts to loosen. He gently pulls her off him and gently lay her down on the bed. The moment he stands next to bed and Ginny doesn't touch him or his clothes anymore she wakes up saying "Harry!"

Harry says "I need to go to Professor Dumbledore. You can stay here and rest you need it. I let you in on a secret. Daphne and Tracey here are Slytherin but friends from me, Hermione and Neville. Don't tell Ron. I can trust you can I not?"

Ginny nods and gave a watery smile. Harry says "I see you soon."

Ginny nods before lying down. Madam Pomfrey follows Harry and gives him the password. She says "Mr. Potter I will give Miss Weasley a calming potion for the chance she needs it. I do ask if you can come back after Professor Dumbledore. I think Miss Weasley's parents probably will be here. I know they went home but Professor McGonagall will let them know when she woke up."

Harry says "alright Madam Pomfrey after Professor Dumbledore I will change and come back soon."

Madam Pomfrey smiles and sends him on his way

30th May 1993, Headmaster Office, Hogwarts

Harry give the Griffin the password before the Griffin starts to turn revealing the stairs. While he walks up to the office he thinks 'I should have asked Madam Pomfrey when Hermione ….. and the others will be cured and can leave the hospital wing I need to thank Hermione somehow. She saved me, just like Fawkes did. I wonder if Fawkes would like something but what is the question?'

Harry stops thinking as he stands in front of the door. Before he can even knock he hears "enter Harry."

He walks in a sees Professor Dumbledore looking at him with a beaming smile. Dumbledore asks about the chamber. Harry pets Fawkes who happy thrills while not facing Dumbledore but keeps talking. He does want to look at Dumbledore but he is afraid that Dumbledore can see that he is not telling anything. Harry just tells that Voldemort controlled Ginny to open the chamber and that he managed to stop him. He did admit the monster in the chamber is Athena but he just said it was a basilisk like he killed it although he never said he did.

Dumbledore says with a twinkling in his eyes "you do realize, of course, that in the last few hours, you have broken perhaps a dozen school rules?"

Harry says "Yes, sir."

Dumbledore says "as I said to Mr. Weasley that there is sufficient evidence to expel you both?"

Harry got a bit nervous says "yes, sir."

Dumbledore says with a smile "therefore, it seems only fitting" when his eyes twinkle even more if possible "that you both receive Special Awards for Services to the School. I think two hundred points apiece and giving Mr. Longbottom one hundred points for his actions. I believe, should be more than enough to secure Gryffindor the House Cup."

Harry grins "thank you, sir."

Dumbledore says "now, Harry I asked Mr. Weasley when I spoke to him earlier, if he would, have an owl deliver these release papers to Azkaban. We need our gamekeeper back."

Dumbledore says "Harry, I want to thank you. You must have shown me real loyalty down in the Chamber. Nothing but that could have called Fawkes to you."

Harry says "it's just, you see, sir, I couldn't help noticing certain things. Certain similarities. Between Tom Riddle and me."

Dumbledore says "you can speak Parseltongue, Harry because Lord Voldemort can speak Parseltongue. Unless I'm much mistaken, he transformed some of his own powers to you the night he gave you that scar."

Harry asks unbelievable "Voldemort put a bit of himself in me?"

Dumbledore says "not intentionally, but... yes. That is also the reason you are not controlled by Voldemort how young Miss Weasley was. He didn't do it intentionally while in the diary he did. I don't know why, but one of the reason was to possess someone maybe for the sole reason of releasing the monster in the chamber. "

Harry decides to say anything, but wonders if the sorting hat is right after all.

Dumbledore expects Harry to say anything but as he doesn't Dumbledore continues "it's true, Harry. You do possess many of the qualities Voldemort himself prizes. Resourcefulness. Determination. A certain disregard for the rules. Yet the Sorting Hat placed you in Gryffindor."

Harry says "only because I asked it to."

Dumbledore says "exactly. While resourcefulness and determination are seen as Slytherin traits your choice is what makes you very different from Voldemort. It's not our abilities that show what we truly are, Harry. It's our choices."

Dumbledore smiles and continues "if you want proof that you belong in Gryffindor, Harry, I suggest you look more closely at this."

Harry looks at the sword and Dumbledore showed him that only a real Gryffindor can call it out of the sorting hat. Although the Sorting hat said with fewer words that as long as there are heirs only they can call the sword and at this moment there are two heirs in Hogwarts.

Harry says when he sees the name "Godric Gryffindor."

Dumbledore says "only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that out of the Hat."

Harry thinks 'you mean only the heir of Gryffindor can what I am apparently.'

Harry isn't looking in Dumbledore eyes but looks in at sword so Dumbledore can't read his mind.

Dumbledore says "Harry, now about the bas…"

Just as Dumbledore wants to 'advise' Harry to let him get the basilisk corpse what is a lot of money although he would casual forget to tell Harry that the door suddenly opens. Dumbledore cannot continue his question as Lucius Malfoy walks in like he owns the place while hurting Dobby as he uses his cane to hit Dobby sending him many yards forward.

Harry can't manage to control himself and says "Dobby! So this is your master. The family you serve is the Malfoys."

Lucius says through clenched teeth to Dobby "I'll deal with you later."

Dobby cowers and whimpers while Lucius walks toward Dumbledore's desk, followed by Dobby. As he closes Harry he uses the cane to push Harry aside.

Lucius snarls "out of my way, Potter."

When he stands before Dumbledore he says in a matter of surprise "so... it's true. You have returned."

Professor Dumbledore says simply "when the governors learned that Arthur Weasley's daughter was taken into the Chamber, they saw fit to summon me back."

Lucius almost shouts angrily "ridiculous!"

Professor Dumbledore says nothing until Lucius looks at him. Then he says "curiously, several of them seemed under the impression that you would curse their families if they didn't agree to suspend me in the first place, Lucius."

Lucius says while almost spitting venom "how dare you…."

Dumbledore interrupts calmly as he asks "I beg your pardon?"

Lucius says "from the beginning, my only concern has been the welfare of this school and its students. I assume the culprit has been identified."

Lucius looks with concealed anger at Harry when he says it's students before returning to look at Dumbledore. Dobby on the other hand looks almost with awe and with a smile at Harry while Harry stares back.

Dumbledore says "oh yes."

Lucius asks with impatience "and? …. Who was it?"

Dumbledore looks at Harry before looking back at Lucius. He says "Voldemort… Only this time, he chose to act through someone else. Through... this."

Dumbledore holds up the destroyed diary so Lucius can see especially the destroyed cover by Harry with Athena's fang.

Lucius says when he sees the diary "I see."

Dobby gently tucks at Harry's sleeve. Harry looks and sees Dobby hinting it was Lucius dairy or at least he is the culprit giving it to Ginny.

Dumbledore continues "fortunately, our young Mr. Potter discovered it."

Dumbledore voice suddenly got cold and hard as he says "one only hopes that no more of Lord Voldemort's old school things find their way into innocent hands. The consequences for the one responsible could be... severe."

Lucius mask almost crack but he managed to stop that.

Lucius stares coldly at Harry almost to make Harry back down and says "well let's hope that Mr. Potter will always be around to save the day."

Harry stares back at Lucius, not backing down and says "don't worry. I will be."

Lucius turns to Dumbledore and says "Dumbledore." With a nod what Dumbledore returned without saying anything.

Lucius turns around to leave as he says "Come, Dobby. We're leaving."

As Dobby walks before him Lucius Malfoy kicks him off the few steps. Dobby stands up obviously hurt at his elbow. Lucius uses his cane to hit Dobby in his neck from behind to not have Dobby slowing them down. Harry stares at the empty doorway as he sees Lucius use his cane as he did just before him less than a few seconds ago and hear someone falling down the stairs and that can only be Dobby.

Harry grits his teeth when he sees the diary and gets an idea. He puts down the sword and asks "sir? I wonder if I could have that." To Dumbledore.

Dumbledore sees Harry's look at the diary and says "well Harry I don't see why not. I think it is only rightful you return it to its rightful owner."

Harry grabs the diary and leaves the office. He closes the door and immediately kicks off his left shoe and take the sock before immediately put on his shoe and tie it when the stairs began to appear. Dumbledore knows Harry didn't go down immediately but he doesn't know why. He tried to read Harry's mind but he didn't have enough time to read it as Harry was only thinking about the diary and wanting it to return it Lucius its rightful owner after Voldemort of course.

30th May 1993, Corridor outside Dumbledore's office entry. Hogwarts

Even before the Griffin is back in its place he runs under its wing and says "Mr. Malfoy."

Lucius doesn't stop and when it only a few steps away Harry's loudly says "Mr. Malfoy."

Lucius turns around and before he can say anything Harry says "I have something of yours" before pushing the diary in Lucius's hand.

Lucius says "mine? I don't know what you are talking about….."

Harry interrupts Lucius and says "I think you do sir. I think you slipped the diary into Ginny's Weasley's Cauldron that day at Diagon Alley."

Lucius looks a bit surprised but still indifferent as he says "you do know."

Lucius gives the diary to Dobby. He walks forward stare again at Harry and continues "why don't you prove it."

Lucius gave a small smile knowing Harry couldn't. He turns around and orders "come Dobby."

Dobby looks at Lucius. Before he can follow he hears Harry whispering "open it."

Dobby opens the diary and the diary immediately opens halfway right on the page with the sock.

When Lucius notices Dobby isn't following he says "Dobby."

Lucius stops walking when he hears Dobby says "Master has given Dobby a sock."

Lucius turns around as he says "I didn't gi…"

Lucius couldn't finish his sentence as he sees Dobby holds the diary open.

Dobby continues "Master has presented Dobby with clothes. Dobby is... free!" while Dobby grabs the sock out of the diary.

Lucius looks at Harry. Harry shows his right bare ankle. Lucius understands that it is Harry's sock.

Lucius shouts "you lost me, my servant."

Lucius pulls on the top of his cane that came off. Harry sees it's a wand. Lucius points his wand at Harry while closing in.

Dobby steps in front of Harry. Dobby says "you will not harm Harry Potter."

Lucius pays him no mind and starts to cast a spell. Dobby immediately uses his own magic to protect Harry. Lucius flies to the end of the corridor.

Lucius stands up and says "you parents were meddlesome fools too. Mark my words Potter. You'll meet the same sticky end as your parents one of these days."

With that Lucius turns around and walk away. When Lucius is gone Dobby turns to Harry and says "Harry Potter freed Dobby. How can Dobby ever repay the great wizard Harry Potter?"

Harry says "just promise me something."

Dobby says "anything sir."

Harry says "if you ever want to warn me just talk to me and not try to use the things you have done this year like closing the portal of platform 9 ¾ or the bludger."

Dobby bows and says "Dobby is sorry Harry Potter."

Harry says "that is alright Dobby. If you ever save my life just try to without the injuries and problems please."

Dobby says "Dobby will sir."

Harry says "goodbye Dobby."

Dobby bows and pops out. Harry sighs as remember Ginny and Hermione. Harry almost runs to the Gryffindor Common room and his dorm. Harry decided to take a quick shower before he changes his clothes.

30th May 1993, the Hospital wing, Hogwarts

Harry walks in feeling refreshed. Mr. Weasley opens the screen from Harry's bed. He says "Ginny you are right. He is here."

Harry doesn't know what to do when Mr. Weasley asks "could you come here, Harry?"

Harry nods and walks to his bed where Ginny is calmly sitting. Before he could sit next to Ginny he gets almost crushed by Mrs. Weasley hugging him and thank him for saving Ginny. Harry could tell that both have been having a hard time and probably haven't been able to calm down until they were sure Ginny was alright. When Mrs. Weasley let go Mr. Weasley put his hand on Harry's shoulder and thank him for saving his little girl.

Normally Ginny would be mad for her father calling her that but now she didn't mind as it showed his love even as the youngest. She would only get mad this moment if he called her his baby girl. Harry sits on his bed as both chairs were occupied by Mrs. And Mr. Weasley Ginny doesn't get in his lap like before but she does grab his hand.

The moment Ginny grabs his hand she gives a happy sigh like she was very nervous and anxious when he was away even though Madam Pomfrey gave her a calming potion it barely worked.

Mr. Weasley and Mrs. Weasley were mostly talking and asking questions. Ginny gave all the answers but Harry knows that they were gently trying to know more about the chamber without mention the chamber. Harry noticed after a few minutes that Mr. Weasley asks the most question and that Mrs. Weasley barely controlling herself.

When Mr. Weasley was nearing the end of the questions Harry looks around but doesn't see Daphne or Tracey. He doesn't expect them to be here as the screen is closed around the bed but he also didn't see them in the hospital wing when he came.

Mr. Weasley ends his questions before Harry asks "Ginny do you know where Daphne and Tracey went?"

Ginny says "I don't know where they are but they did say after they asked if I was alright that they should go before a Slytherin found out especially as they are even madder at you for stopping ….. the heir and protecting the ….. muggleborns."

Harry sees that this is hard for Ginny and he squeezes his hand to support her with seems to help as she looks at him when he squeezes her hand, She gives Harry a small smile. Harry is surprised as this is the biggest smile he have seen on her this year although she had the same small smile when she wished him luck last year when they helped him onto the platform.

Mrs. Weasley could finally ask her question and he immediately notices that Mrs. Weasley was much more forward with her question than Mr. Weasley. Lucky Mr. Weasley could ask anything about the chamber without really mentioning the chamber.

Mrs. Weasley wants to know the entrance but Harry answered that before Ginny. He first wanted to tell the truth but he suddenly remembers if she tells Dumbledore and he can come inside they will attack Athena. I can't let that happen.

He says "it doesn't matter. The attacks will not happen and the real attacker stopped, not Ginny."

Mrs. Weasley is not happy with the answer but before she can continue to ask Mr. Weasley says "yes, Harry you are right. All that matters is that the school is safe again, that the real attacker is stopped and that our daughter thanks to you is safe."

Harry says "no Mr. Weasley it wasn't me. Fawkes Professor Dumbledore phoenix did the most."

Ginny says "no Harry it is you who saved me. You got hurt, you killed the basilisk."

Harry wants to deny again when Mr. Weasley says "Harry, Fawkes maybe helped but you brought Ginny back to us."

Harry sighs he only admitted it to Lucius Malfoy as he is mad at Malfoy for treating Dobby badly, him being Draco's father and he clearly felt challenged by his gaze and somehow couldn't control himself.

Nothing was said until the screen opened and Professor McGonagall came in. She asks if Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley and Ginny can follow. Ginny doesn't want to but Harry says "you can better go Ginny. I think it is very important."

Ginny shakes her head but when she looks back at Harry she sees his gently yet determined face. Reluctantly she stands up to follow Professor McGonagall.

As soon as they were gone Harry steps out of the screen. He doesn't see anybody and walks to the office of Madam Pomfrey.

30th May 1993, Madam Pomfrey's office, the hospital wing, Hogwarts

Harry knocks on the door and hears enter. Harry enters to see Madam Pomfrey enjoying a cup of tea.

Madam Pomfrey says with a smirk "don't tell Mr. Potter you hurt yourself again!'

Harry shakes his head as he says "no Madam Pomfrey. I was wondering how long it will take for the petrified to be revived."

Madam Pomfrey knows Harry only means Hermione but he is nice enough to ask about them all.

Madam Pomfrey says "Professor Snape is working on the potion, the Mandrake Draught. It will take at least two more weeks before the Mandrake Draught is ready to be used. However, the people with slowly being revived after the Mandrake Draught is ingested."

Harry asks "when will Her … when will they be revived?"

Madam Pomfrey tries to repress the smirk and barely suppresses it. She says "after the Mandrake Draught is ingested it will take a week before they are revived. After they are revived they need to stay at least a week maybe more as they need to regain their mobility, strength and magic. They will be watched to make sure everything is going well."

"Mr. Potter, I can assure you that they will be revived and healed by the time the school year will end. Maybe they need some potion, but you don't have to worry. I am sure that there will not be any problems after they have revived and maybe some potion."

Madam Pomfrey knows it is mostly about Hermione but she had noticed that after Hermione was petrified he also watched the others although he only sits with Hermione and talks to her. Madam Pomfrey had told him Hermione may not hear him but he didn't mind. He talked about classes and what a fraud Lockhart is especially what happened in the classes, but not only defence against the dark arts.

He even said to Hermione that he always told her something was off with Lockhart and he was right. Harry went even so far as to respond to Hermione as he knows what she would say. That was weird to see as it is a completely one-sided talk, but Harry always responds as to what he knows she would have said.

Madam Pomfrey says "now you better go Mr. Potter. It is Sunday but I am certain you have somewhere else to be."

Harry wants to stay, but he hears the finalization in her voice. Harry nods and says goodbye. Madam Pomfrey is right. Harry still had some homework he neglected and postponed it just like Ron but not because he did the same as Ron but with the time he spends at Hermione's side and meeting with Daphne and Tracey. He was too busy finding out who it was as Daphne and Tracey told him everything they found even a little suspicious what turned into a wild goose chase, to use a muggle proverb that confused Daphne. While Tracey needed almost the whole conversation until she understands it when he said it once although she is a half-blood.

The next time Daphne wasn't happy as Tracey apparently told her what he meant. He just told them why as it makes him more difficult to spend time with Hermione, Ron and Neville but also having trouble making sure to do his homework and make notes for when Hermione gets better.

It took to one of the last meetings before the chamber before Daphne (and Tracey) understands what Harry means as about half of the Slytherin were betting which muggleborn was next to where no teacher was to see it or only Snape and some others were very afraid that the monster will go crazy and attack even purebloods. Others used some of the most deserted corridors to not be near muggleborns for the chance they were attacked and not be in the way. All those things Daphne and Tracey told Harry (and Neville).

31st May 1993, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts

Harry wakes up early like normally, takes a quick shower before dressing and heading downstairs. He finished most of his homework yesterday and know he is finishing the last touches on potions and one of his best subjects charms.

He was just done when he hears footsteps. He turns around to look at the stairs and see Ginny walking down. Harry immediately tries to do something he promised himself but also demented by himself.

He says "good morning Ginny. Have you slept well?"

Ginny looks shocked that Harry talks to her she says "uhhh … g-good mo-morning H-Ha-Harry. I-I sl-slept alright. Y-you?"

Harry smiles and says "I slept well despite the last few days. You came back late yesterday. Did something happen when you and your parents went talking with Professor McGonagall?"

Ginny shakes her head and says "N-no. She pro-proposed that I-I ta-take my exams two w-weeks ea-earlier, th-this we-week and then g-go b-back ho-home, not wi-with the tr-train."

Harry asks "do you have prepared enough?"

Ginny nods and says a bit more confident "yes, Professor McGonagall says that I learned most by now and that all the Professor's except Professor Snape give me an adjusted exam. But as we have learned all the spells and charms needed this year I only get theoretical exams and take the practical part at the start of next year so somewhere in September if I am not expelled that is. I will have an adjusted practical exam for the spells and charm until Easter. Astronomy will be done tomorrow night."

Harry says "Ginny I am sure you are not expelled. Dumbledore agrees that it wasn't your fault, your manage to not kill anyone by him and that is not to mention you manage to resist him for almost a whole year, I am sure many others even adult witches and wizards will have a breakdown and fallen under his control. Not even that you also endangered yourself by stealing the diary out of my dorm and trunk right?"

Ginny nods clearly with tears and says "yes I stole it and trashed your dorm. I am so sorry Harry!"

Harry stands up and says "it is okay Ginny. If you need help in September as I know you will not be expelled I can maybe help you with some practical stuff. I am not the best but I get by. I understand if you don't want to."

Ginny looks up with tears in her eyes. Somehow he felt the same when he saw Hermione, Daphne and Tracey cry right after the Troll died by some spell he doesn't know. He felt it again later when Hermione cried on his lap. He feels uncomfortable but also feels the overwhelming urge to help her and soothe her as Fawkes tried after the chamber. He wants to make her stop crying and comfort her.

He can only think of one thing just like he did with Hermione that night. He walks to her and put his arms around her. It isn't a hug as Harry learned never to ask for it or give one. Ginny does the same as Hermione and push herself into Harry when Harry doesn't tighten his arms around her and push her close as it isn't a hug.

It took almost half an hour before she stops and when she sees she is clutching Harry's robes for comfort. She almost jumps away from Harry. The only way she didn't fall is as Harry wasn't holding her tight what he would have done if he gave her a hug what he didn't.

She says "s-so-sor-sorry Ha-Harry."

Harry says a bit uncomfortable "don't worry about it, Ginny. Are you feeling better?"

Ginny nods. She says "yes, but I can better go done breakfast is about to start and I need my energy today as I have my first exams today."

Ginny runs out of the Common room. Harry stands a bit surprised she manage to say the last things without stumbling or stammering over her words. Or even worse like falter her words or stops talking at all like the summer and the first couple of weeks until Christmas where she stared at him and couldn't utter one word without being embarrassed. He wouldn't tease her too much as long as she is like this but he couldn't help but laugh the first time he noticed her staring at the table and she put her elbow in a butter dish.

At the Burrow, she didn't only put her elbow in a butter dish but also knocked over the porridge bowl while blushing deep red. She also knocked things over when she entered the same room as him. Fortunately, it looks like she didn't knock things over anymore when she entered the same room, she didn't put her elbows in food anymore and shortly after she put her elbow in a butter dish at Hogwarts she didn't accidentally drop her food all over the place anymore not even when he looks at her. She did, however, let some food drop on the table when he looks at her. Around Christmas that stopped too.

Without stumbling and stammering her words and blushing heavily when he was close with a look he hasn't seen at least not with his relatives but has seen flickers of those in Hermione and Daphne eyes almost too soon to notice. He never saw in Tracey's eyes but he seldom looked into her eyes as she kept herself more in the background even when they (Harry, Hermione and Neville) meet them (Daphne and Tracey).

He wouldn't know if there are others with Ginny's look as he doesn't have other 'good' friends. Sure he talks with the girls his year from Gryffindor and sometimes talked with Susan Bones and Hannah Abbot until they thought he was the Heir of Slytherin well Hannah did. Susan never said it but didn't defend him, but he doesn't care as he got used to it as it wasn't very different from elementary school where nobody defends him when Dudley said Harry did something he didn't do even if others knew. Susan looked troubled when Hannah said it or others accused him of being the Heir of Slytherin. Maybe accused him and while most don't know he saw them do it.

Sometimes Megan Jones and Sally-Ann Perks talked with him but it wasn't much and was totally nonexistent after he used Parseltongue unknowingly on Malfoy's conjured snake.

He also talked with some boys of Hufflepuff besides his own dorm, but somehow he didn't really like the boys at least the purebloods. They aren't like Malfoy but still something about how they acted felt wrong especially how some talked or watched the girls.

He talked with some Ravenclaws too boys and girls like Padma and Su but also Terry Boot or Anthony Goldstein but that was even less than the Hufflepuff boys and almost nonexistent even before he was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin.

6th June 1993, Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts

Harry, Neville and Ron were sitting in the Common Room. Well, Harry and Neville were Ron was badgering anyone who was in the common room for chess or a game of exploding snaps walking from one to the other. Harry and Neville were reading for the upcoming exams that will start on the 14th of June. Harry knows Hermione will be mad if he has bad grades if he worries about her or stays with her and that does not mention how mad Daphne will be.

Neville on the other hand hopes to study with Harry make them become even better friends and he can ask Harry for help with anything (except Herbology). Neville was surprised with how Harry's help he finds out he was kind of above average in Charms and at least acceptable in Transfiguration. Neville hoped he was good in Defence against the Dark Arts but he isn't while Harry is.

Harry says "Neville it is no wonder you have trouble with Defence Against the Dark Arts we haven't have a descend teacher yet."

Both of them however is at best acceptable with potions and history of magic. Astronomy is for them certainly above average.

NEWT's are always in the (full) first week of June. OWL is partly in the second and third week of June. The exams for the other years are in the classroom or planned around the OWL's theoretical and practical exams.

Harry closes his book. He puts the on the table and wonders about Ginny. After lunch, she was picked up by her father. Mr. Weasley thanked him again as did Ginny for saving her. It looked like Ginny was holding herself back and again he saw the look in her eyes but he saw also the look of the night he saved her. However, there was the third look in her eyes he hasn't seen before and wonders even know what all those three looks mean.

Harry sees Fred and George being very quiet which is very unusual for them. They are fourth-year so they won't have their OWL's or NEWT's. Harry wonders why when Neville says "Fred and George are disappointed in their selves for failing Ginny this year. Mr. Weasley was not happy with them although he was also not happy with Ron, Ron doesn't seem to care."

Harry looks at Ron as he finally found someone to play chess with him and had a small smile on his face as he is obviously winning. Harry looks from Fred and George to Ron and sees the obvious difference. Fred and George look crestfallen and everything Lee tried to cheer them up didn't work even if he came up with ideas for pranks not even when he wanted to only target the older Slytherins.

Harry doesn't know why but the Slytherin second year and lower were never targeted or with small pranks that could be anyone only the older ones were pranked what sometimes could even be seen as bullying. The third years were mostly 'safe' but from the fourth year and older you were not, still pranks that border lined bullying although there are exceptions like Malfoy and his goons. Still, that didn't happen until his father disrespected their father and family a lot as they won't go after you if you disrespect their family and father a little.

It doesn't mean the twins don't prank other houses or Gryffindor's but the prank that was aimed at only Slytherin's were always 'worse', harder almost borderline bullying and often well over the line of bullying.

Harry gets shocked out of his mind when Neville asks "Harry? Harry can you help with this charm. How did you do it?"

Harry looks to Neville and says "sure."

10th June 1993, Hogwarts

Harry walks out of the Transfiguration classroom. He sighs as he tried to write everything down as Hermione did. He never writes that much and it really hurts his hand. He hopes Hermione would like he did it for her and that it is good enough for her so she can't go on to her third year. If she gets to hold back a year because of the petrification it will destroy her. Harry admit if he can help her he would. He will be very sad if she needs to repeat the second year as he can't live without her being in the same year to spend time with her although he also likes Daphne, Tracey and Neville with him. However, Daphne and Tracey were never by his side in public, he still felt them beside him especially Daphne.

He hears his name. He looks at the origin of the sound and sees that Susan Bones stand beside him. Polite as he is he asks "Susan? Do you need something?"

Susan asks shyly as she is "can I talk to you, Harry?"

Harry didn't really want to as he doesn't want to talk to her about the chamber and he thinks she wants to talk about that. He also doesn't want as while Susan always smiled at him even when he was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin she never defended him. As Harry is very polite and feels something he can't resist her request.

Harry says "alright Susan. Where do you want to go?"

Susan gave him a large smile that made Susan look cute and she grabs his wrist like Hermione does if she needs him to follow her although she only did it a very few times and it always let to the library.

What Harry surprise him the most is that Susan actually drags him along as she is normally shy, quiet and nice. He never has seen her this determined although he sees that she is shy. Still, she keeps dragging him along. He thinks if he wants he can break her grip, but just seeing her shy, nervous and probably red from the embarrassment he decides to not break her grip.

It took almost 10 minutes when Susan stops and enters a classroom. Harry knows they are on the third floor. When he sees the classroom he knows it is the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. He walks inside and sees Susan standing. Harry is happy that all of Lockhart's paintings and anything else that is of him is removed and it is just like a clean classroom.

Harry suspects Susan choose it as the others are in use of just filthy. He doesn't really care he just wants to know what Susan wants to say to him as he wants to go to the library. He goes there every day to search for books that Hermione can use to help her with everything she misses and make sure her table will not be taken by someone else. It isn't her table of course as anyone can use it but Harry will use the table to make sure no one else sits at the table as it is also her happy place and like it very much.

Susan is clearly very nervous. She looks at the ground while gripping her skirt tight. She doesn't know how to start. Susan looks up and is happy Harry doesn't look angry at her. She counts that as a win, but she does see Harry is getting impatient and she knows why. She like many others have seen him in the library a lot more especially at the table that is known by many as Hermione's table, Harry's smart future girlfriend or the table of the golden trio's brain.

Susan knows she needs to start as she asked to talk to him but also as she was in the wrong. She didn't defend him but she knew that he couldn't do it. She said it to her housemates until almost the whole house was convinced he was it especially after he talked Parseltongue and Justin was petrified after what looks like ordering the snake Malfoy conjured to attack him although she did notice the snake kind of backed down before Snape removed the snake after Lockhart failed again.

Susan says "Harry is asked to talk to you as I want to ….. apologize. I knew you couldn't be the Heir of Slytherin. You are a real Gryffindor with how you act especially when you play Quidditch, but also how you are when you just speak with others. You are not evil and especially not against muggleborns. Hermione is your best friend and muggleborn that Salazar Slytherin will surely hate like the Slytherin as she is a smart muggleborn although she didn't know anything about magic until she turned eleven but the purebloods and half-bloods in Slytherin know for their whole life."

"I am very sorry. I hope you can forgive me for not defending you. I know I shouldn't let the housemates convince me that you were the Heir of Slytherin or that I should stop saying you were innocent. I couldn't lose my friends and I know if they are like that they aren't friends but you must understand they were afraid."

"Almost everybody taught you were guilty … well until Hermione was attacked that is. Although some still taught you were the Heir and just made a mistake and your real target was Penelope Clearwater. I defended you again as you don't even know Penelope Clearwater, the Ravenclaw Prefect."

"Penelope Clearwater is also a smart muggleborn like Hermione so why attack her AND Hermione."

Harry wants to be mad but he can't be mad especially as even most in his own house though he was the Heir of Slytherin. The only ones who didn't was the Quidditch team, Hermione and Neville. Some weren't sure but nobody beside them defends him. Daphne and Tracey said they trusted him and believed he wasn't the Heir of Slytherin, but they were the only one outside of Gryffindor that trusted him.

Harry says "I don't know Penelope Clearwater personally but I have heard about her. She has a relationship with Percy Weasley if I remember correctly. Look, Susan, you don't have to apologize. I can't say that I would do the same if someone else was accused of being the Heir of Slytherin although I like to think I would make up my own mind. Also, I probably would not accuse someone as they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time especially as Hermione as muggleborn was with me so there was no chance I could write the first message as I had detention with Lockhart that night."

"Maybe if there are suspicious activities or circumstances I can understand even if there isn't real evidence. The only thing that pointed at me was my ability to speak Parseltongue. It told me that it is very rare but that doesn't make me the Heir of Slytherin. Why would the sorting hat place me in Gryffindor otherwise?"

Harry knows why he went into Gryffindor as Heir of Gryffindor and as many said he is a model Gryffindor not to mention his parents were Gryffindors although he knows that not all the family members go in the same house as a perfect example are the Patil twins. It means the Dursley's didn't manage to crush the Gryffindor qualities in him. Harry knows almost certainly that the sorting hat was considering Slytherin because of his ability to speak Parseltongue and Voldemort's power and side in him.

Harry thinks 'was it really my choice? Or was the sorting hat testing me to see if I know of being Godric Gryffindor's heir? Did the sorting hat look through Voldemort's power and see me as a Gryffindor instead of Voldemort's Slytherin side as Voldemort is the Heir of Slytherin?'

Susan looks back at the ground and doesn't answer his question.

Susan says "please Harry I am really sorry. Can you please forgive me? I know I was wrong but please don't hate me."

Harry doesn't want to and he can't really fault her. He can never bring himself to hate her especially as she always smiles at him even when the whole school thought he was the Heir of Slytherin. He knows Susan is a pureblood or he would have thought she smiled to prevent him from attacking her if she was a muggleborn. Also as the whole school accused him why would he hate her especially.

As Harry doesn't answer Susan says "I understand Harry. I understand that you hate me. It will not happen again and leave you be."

Harry says "Susan, I don't hate you. I hope it never happens again where I come into some of the same situations. It isn't your fault. I mean the whole school hated me so why should I hate you especially."

Susan says immediately "Harry if it happens again I will defend you and not listen to my house no matter what they say unless I have seen the evidence with my own eyes."

Harry gives her a small smile and says "alright Susan. I hope this is over now and I helped you lowered your concern as I really need to go now."

Susan nods happily with almost happy tears in her eyes she just manages to hide. Harry says "great. Goodbye, Susan."

Susan waves as he leaves. She vows to herself that she will do her best to keep her word and that she needs to talk to her Aunt. Not regarding the attacks what is wondering why her Auntie didn't show up, no. She wants Harry to know and talk with him and his guardian about finalizing it although it is already signed. She only needs to convince her Aunt to send him guardian a message.

She can ask for a meeting. Amelia needs to send the request to Gringotts as was in the contract unless told otherwise by Harry's parents or Harry's guardian with Harry's acceptance no matter his age unless he reached his majority as he doesn't need a guardian.

Susan knows what she needs to do this summer. She hopes if Harry is still not happy with her this will help him and her to put it behind them as she knows that if they can she will be very happy with Harry. First, she was unhappy but when Amelia told her who and when she was a baby that she liked playing with Harry before the attack on her parents and his parents she just knows she will be happy with Harry if he hasn't changed. Susan doesn't know and Amelia said that he didn't but wouldn't know for sure until she talked with him. She went to Dumbledore but he forbade it much to Amelia's dismay.

It is known that Dumbledore is his proxy and put him somewhere safe. Only he and Professor McGonagall knows. Nobody knows that Professor McGonagall was strongly against it and even offered her own house as she is the godmother of James.

14th June 1993, transfiguration classroom, Hogwarts

It was their fourth class of the day, the class before lunch. At the end of the class Professor McGonagall asks the Gryffindor's to stay behind.

Professor McGonagall says "as most probably already know. In the third year, we offer electives for you to choose from. There are five electives we offer. Those are Ancient Runes, Care of Magical Creatures, Arithmancy, Muggle Studies and Divination. You are required to choose at least two electives, but I encourage everyone to take three electives."

Professor McGonagall waves her wand and out of her office, a stack of paper flies in. The paper is the registration paper for the electives.

Professor McGonagall says "you need to fill in this paper for yourself. You need to choose now but I want the registration paper before the 26th of June."

Professor McGonagall says that you need to fill it in for yourself as she thinks that Harry will fill it in for Hermione although he knows her probably the best. Professor McGonagall wants to help Harry and try to convince him to take Ancient Runes, Magical Creature as she knows Hagrid would be the next teacher and will be confident if Harry follows the class besides that it is also almost a good elective as Ancient Runes.

She wants to convince Harry to take the third one and that will be Arithmancy as muggle studies are outdated at best while divination is only helpful if you are a seer or have seer blood to unlock it. Professor McGonagall knows as James godmother there has ever been only one seer and that was not a Potter by birth. She married a Potter.

Ron is whining to do more work and not only that he also whines he is starving and want to go to lunch. Professor McGonagall wants to help Harry but Dumbledore forbade her from helping him in any way as he says that Harry needs to make his own decisions, face the consequences and be a child as children make mistakes and learn from them. Professor McGonagall wasn't happy but decided to listen although it was barely as she also asked Professor Dumbledore to ask the students to stop calling Harry the Heir of Slytherin but again Professor Dumbledore didn't do it. He said that Harry and the other need to face the consequences, that it builds character and make him stronger mostly mentally.

Professor McGonagall says "if you need help to choose electives I will be glad to advise you. You can talk to me after dinner and during the weekend."

When she said she can offer advice she especially looks at Harry but he doesn't notice as he looks at the paper with the electives. Professor McGonagall let them go and sighs as she notices that not at one moment Harry looks her way. She cannot ask him to help as she can't disobey what Professor Dumbledore want but if Harry comes on his own to her she wouldn't disobey Professor Dumbledore.

27th June 1993, maximum security level, Azkaban, North Sea

Deep in Azkaban at the maximum security level with is filled with inner circle Death Eaters, traitors that worked for the ministry during Voldemort were Death Eaters even unmarked ones, a very few mass murders not Death eaters and line-theft perpetrators.

The deepest cell is occupied by a large black dog most of the time. The cell is from Sirius Black, the traitors of the Potters, right hand mad from Voldemort, killed at least 12 muggles and killed Peter Pettigrew that got a posthumous the Order of Merlin, First Class.

Sirius uses his unknown Animagus form as the patrolling Dementors don't have eyes and their effect is less effective on animals. As nobody knew about the Animagus form except the other marauders, all the protection on the cell to keep him in had one big flaw and that is there is no anti-Animagus charm.

Sirius had no idea what the date is. He only knows he has been here for 11 years as he had seen the minister of magic 11 times at the yearly inspection at the end of July. He thinks it is about the end of June may be the beginning of July.

There is one big downside of his Animagus form and that are the enhanced dog senses. He can hear every scream from the other prisoners. Because of the Dementors, there have been many prisoners who have gone insane and quite a lot of them have died over the years. He is weak because of the Dementors, its exposure and the food. In his Animagus form, he can hear more than ever when he is human even in his current state.

Sirius hate many of the prisoners and even fought against them when he was an Auror, Auror trainee and as a member of the order of the Phoenix although he was almost sure to stop with being a member just like James, Lily, Alice and Frank. Remus was only a member as it looks like Dumbledore was pro-werewolves and Remus thought if he could keep the werewolves of fighting with Voldemort it could help in getting more rights unfortunately many did fight with Voldemort as ordered by Greyback their alfa and for many their creator or were dominated by him so he became their alfa.

There is one prisoner he doesn't hate. Well, he did hate her at the start until he heard her screams, her begging, what has happened with her, her agony but also many people to forgive her or Death to claim her. It is his oldest Cousin Bellatrix Lestrange or like he will always know her Bella (Black).

Bellatrix is in the cell across from him. It was meant to let Sirius see that the Blacks is nothing anymore. The strongest Black sister in jail, one Black sister throw out of the House and the last Black sister married to Malfoy. With Regulus dead, he is the Heir and Lord as he heard from one of the other Death Eaters that came a week or two after Sirius was incarcerated that he killed his father Orion Black as he refused to help to search for Voldemort especially after losing both his sons is what his father said.

According to the Death Eater, his mother lived as she, unfortunately, wasn't with his father that day not that Sirius cared about his mother. Although he knows his mother would have agreed as she was the one to convince Regulus to join the Death Eaters and was so proud when he did. She also somehow convinced his father to not intervene in the wizengamot and with Regulus choice.

The Death Eater was stupid enough to kill him in Diagon Alley in broad daylight. Within the second he killed Sirius father with the killing curse he was stunned by eight stunners. Six by Aurors and two by bystanders, it was a wonder he survived the stunners as four-hit dangerously near his heart. Not that it matters in the long run like a little over 7 years ago the Death Eater died.

Sirius knows that his Animagus form helps be the same and while he also has nightmares because of the Dementors and the inability to forgive himself he has a couple of anchors that keep him sane.

The biggest anchor is Harry Potter, his godson, his best friend son, his cousin and that he had failed James, his brother and cousin but also Lily. Lily never liked her until she kind of needed to talk to him as he is James best friend and cousin. Lily finally started to like him although she treated to hex or curse him many times and sometimes her words weren't idle threats. But besides that Lily saw him as a friend otherwise she would never have agreed with making him Harry's godfather.

Sirius knows he will never be as good as a friend Moony was with Lily she did admit that she liked Sirius enough after he matured a little. Sirius also admitted she liked her especially as she finally allowed James a date with her, eventually ended up as his wife and finally birth him his godson.

His second anchor was Moony as his only best friend left hoping he trust him that he would never betray James, Lily and Harry like he wouldn't betray him (Moony). Moony doesn't know that Wormtail was the real secret keeper. He didn't expect Moony to get him out as a Werewolf if he tries to get Sirius released Sirius realize the chance was bigger that Remus also ended up here in Azkaban than letting him go free especially as werewolves fought at Voldemort's side. He must admit that when it was known there was a spy he even questioned if Moony was it but he must have known to trust his gut and Lily's reassurance, but he knew the moment Moony was gone that Lily and his gut were right but he never managed to apologize for his misplaced distrust. He hopes that somehow he can still apologize to him sometimes even if it is dead.

His third anchor is the love of his life, Amelia Susan Bones. He had heard some of the later captured prisoners curse her name as she probably caught them. He was able to get a newspaper from one of the guards a couple of years ago. In that one, Amelia was promoted to Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He must admit director Bones sounds good. He was so happy for her almost so much the dementors needed to quadruple outside his cell to even be able to dampen his happiness even a little.

The fourth and final anchor is very important to him, but he can't help returning Andromeda and save Bellatrix and Narcissa from their husband. He cannot save Bellatrix and Narcissa anymore or return Andi into the family when he is Azkaban. Even if he gets out he can only do that if he becomes Lord Black and finds an out for Bellatrix and Narcissa in their contract as there are always some rules for the husbands. If the husband breaks their part of the contract the Lord of the wives maiden house can annul the marriage contract or at least get a divorce for the female of his house including getting back the dowry. In some cases, you can even get the dowry back with interest.

In Andromeda's case, she was disowned for marrying a muggleborn. She was never told but she got her healer license thanks to Charlus and Dorea Potter, James parents and Harry's grandparents. Her muggleborn husband helped her becoming a lawwitch. She has become more than others can hope. He should be mad that she didn't help him when he was incarcerated but he hasn't gotten trial so she couldn't defend him. He hoped that she may try to get him a trial. He doesn't blame her, he blames Dumbledore as Chief Warlock one of his tasks is to make sure justice is served and that means also everyone gets a trial that he didn't get. True saying I killed James and Lily when I get arrested may not be the best thing I could have asked.

Sirius thinks back to that fateful night. The night of the betrayal, the night that James and Lily were killed while Harry survived. He knows he should have done what he promised to James and Lily. Instead, he let his grieve and revenge take over and that was the last time he saw Harry.

He went to James and Lily to spend a quiet Halloween, but when he came there the top floor where the nursery supposed to be was destroyed. He grabbed his wand before he rushed inside to first find James lifeless body on the bottom of the stairs. He went upstairs to the nursery. When he was on top of the stairs his heart almost stopped. He heard Harry crying and heard mommy between the crying. He again rushed to the nursery to find Lily's lifeless body in front of the crib where Harry was crying standing trying to reach Lily. Harry saw Sirius and says "pa'foo. Mommy sleep."

Sirius says "yes. You should sleep too."

Sirius grabs Harry and starts to soothe him until he falls asleep what happens soon. He wanted to bring Harry to safety sooner but then he would not only see Lily but also James. Just when he leaves the house with his hand out and keep Harry against his chest with his other arm.

He was surprised when Hagrid was there. It was weird as Hagrid never leaves Hogwarts unless during the summer or to Hogsmeade not to Godric's hallow. It came immediately clear when Hagrid asks to take Harry from him. Sirius refused until Hagrid says that Dumbledore sent him to get Harry to him, to Hogwarts. Despite Sirius feelings towards Dumbledore especially consider trust he knows that Hogwarts would be the safest place. Sirius lend Hagrid his flying motorcycle.

Sirius changed in his Animagus form to find Wormtail took more than a day. He killed him and was happy too but he remembers Auror apprate to his place, stunned him and he woke up here in Azkaban. He waited for days for his trial as he knew many trials were held, but the days came and go but nobody came for him. The Aurors ignored him and just what he thinks two weeks later he knew nobody came for him and that means no trial.

Sirius knows he has failed James and Lily and more importantly Harry. He hopes he gets the chance to make his wrong a right. He wants to survive and be sane for only that reason to mikes his wrong a right considering James, Lily and especially Harry. Sirius knows who was after him on the list of guardians for Harry. Frank and Alice Longbottom but were attacked and Bellatrix said that nobody else was their including Neville Longbottom Harry's godbrother.

They couldn't take care of Neville so also not after Harry. That means the Tonkses were next and he hopes Andromeda or like he calls his cousin Andi didn't make Harry hate him. He remembers after the Tonkses were the Bones but Amelia's brother and sister-in-law were killed and Amelia already needs to look after her niece Susan Bones. After Bones, it was Lovegood, Greengrass and Weasley in that order. He doesn't know if Andi managed to survive the war but if she did he knows Harry will be there. Andi almost doted more on Harry than Lily and that is almost humanly impossible. Andi will never send him away and if Ted even suggested that he would be sleeping on the couch until Harry leaves for Hogwarts if Ted was lucky. He wants to send a letter but as an Azkaban prisoner, he can't.

Sirius stopped many years claiming he didn't have a trial as nobody listened and if they did but found him annoying they put four dementors by his cell entrance although two was enough to cover the entire cell entrance.

It is late at night. A Dementor patrol is just past his cell door as he opens his eyes and changes back out of his Animagus form when the patrol is far enough away. He walks to his cell door and grabs the bars. When he hears nothing but the screams from prisoners he calls out to Bellatrix. He cannot scream too hard and drag attention to him especially as the Aurors stationed here would find it weird he still has his mind. It can drag unwanted attention.

He says loudly "Bella? Bella?"

With the first, he hears a groan and with the second he sees her looking at him. She looks ghastly. Her face is tears stained and she like everybody else was very thin almost to the point of death, but they only got food once a day and will it is quite a large plate of food barely enough for the day, the taste itself is almost as ghastly as Azkaban itself.

Bella says "Siri? Please kill me I can't bear this guilt anymore."

Sirius says "stop it, Bella. Think about what is out there, don't you want to see Cissy again? Make amends with Andi? Get the job you want to do? Find your real love?"

Suddenly Sirius hears a couple of cells beside him "stop that Black. Bellatrix, don't listen to him."

Sirius says "I am not afraid Lestrange. Bellatrix is a Black, born and raised. I will get you for what you have done to her."

Rodolphus says "she is my wife and a committed follower of the dark lord. He will reward us and her when he returns."

Sirius says "Bella stay with me. Stay strong like you were in your youth. I always looked to my big cousin Bella, so stubborn and determined."

Bella smiles with tears and says "I will Siri, but I don't know how long I can last."

Sirius says "I know you can as long as is needed my dear cousin Bella."

Sirius hears footsteps nearing his cell and feels the dementor presence increase. He immediately went back to the corner furthest away from the bars of his cell.

29th June 1993, the Great Hall, Hogwarts

It is dinner time and the Great Hall in Gryffindor colours as Gryffindor has won the house cup. Slytherin had a depressing presence while Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff were just enjoying the end feast. This is the last dinner they have. Tomorrow morning they have breakfast and after that, at 10 a.m. the train leave to arrive at King's Cross station around 5:30 p.m.

Harry was eating but only barely. He hasn't see Hermione since the day of the chamber. Madam Pomfrey didn't want to let him enter when the petrified students were recovering. Daphne and Tracey didn't have time to talk to Harry and Neville as Malfoy was chasing Daphne and barely let her out of his side with his goons and another girl by the name of Pansy Parkinson. Pansy Parkinson was a bit like Daphne and Tracey until last Easter she changed into a female Malfoy although before that she wasn't nice at the first flying lesson, after that she stopped especially when Harry was close.

Suddenly it looked like the Great Hall stopped talking and Harry looks why. He sees many people looking at the entrance of the Great Hall and there she is Hermione. He suddenly sees down the table Colin Creevey has returned. He glances barely a second to Hufflepuff table and sees that Justin Finch-Fletchley just took a seat.

Harry looks immediately back to Hermione and sees Nearly Headless Nick looking at him before giving his normal greeting by pulling his nearly cut-off head to the side. He wants to turn around but the Grey Lady 'blocks' his path. He takes his arm and float into the Great Hall.

Hermione searches the Great Hall for Harry. Hermione sees Harry and rushing towards him. Harry stands up but before he knew it Hermione hugs him. He expected her to do something like that and braced him what made him keep standing.

Hermione almost squeals in his ear "you solved it. You solved it."

Harry says "only because of your help, loads of help from you."

Hermione let go and give Neville who stands beside Harry a smaller hug.

Neville says "welcome back, Hermione."

Lastly, she gives Ron an awkward handshake what is more than Harry expected.

Professor McGonagall smiles as she taps her goblet to get everyone's attention.

Professor Dumbledore stands and says "before we begin our feast, let's give a round of applause to Professor Sprout and Madame Pomfrey, whose Mandrake Juice has been successfully administered to all those who had been petrified. Everyone applauds."

Professor Dumbledore continues "also, in the wake of recent events, as a school treat, all exams have been cancelled as I know many have wondered why they weren't taken yet. Except for the OWL and NEWT's students but as normal they already did their exams."

Everyone was happy except Hermione as she enjoyed schoolwork and exams although she always is stressed out until she gets her always O grade. Harry sees Hermione saying oh no as he couldn't hear her over the loud cheering from all the houses even Ravenclaw. Harry smiles at seeing that.

Harry when the cheering has died down Harry hears familiar footsteps and turns to the entrance and see his first kind of human friend walking in, Hagrid. Harry knows he is a half-giant but that doesn't mean Hagrid is still one of the kinds hearted man he knows with just a small liking to the dangerous creatures who are just misunderstood.

With all eyes upon him. Hagrid glances around. Nervous. Embarrassed.

Hagrid says "sorry I'm late. The owl deliverin' my release papers got all lost 'n confused. Some ruddy bird named Errol."

Ron looks embarrassed at the ground. Harry just thought he could have used Hedwig. She would love to do it as she is a little angry Harry rarely uses her and only a few times through the summer. Also to get Hermione's present from her parents as the Weasley's got Errol and Daphne have her own owl.

Hagrid looks at all of the faces staring at him. Finally, he looks to Harry.

Hagrid says "I jus' want to say... that if it wasn't fer' you, Harry... you Neville … an' you Ron... and Hermione... Well, I jus' want to say... Thanks."

Harry smiles as he says "there's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid.."

30th June 1993, Hogsmeade station, Hogwarts

Harry sits in a compartment with Neville and Ron. He wonders where Hermione is. He walks outside of the window to wave at Hagrid. Just as the train turns and Hagrid is out of sight, he wonders again as Hermione wasn't on the platform.

It is less than half a minute Hermione walks in. Harry says "there you are Hermione. I was wondering where you were. Where were you?"

Hermione sits down after Neville and Harry help her with her heavier than needed trunk.

Hermione says "oh I needed to fill in the electives for next year and needed to talk with Professor McGonagall as I had some questions."

Harry says "oh okay I guess."

The remainder of the train ride. Hermione read what she had missed. Ron was trying to sleep some more. Neville was reading in an advanced book about Herbology while Harry watches outside and sighs about the summer he must spend with his relatives, the Dursley's.

Almost half an hour before the train will arrive Hermione is unhappy when Harry hears her say "I wish I had some notes from class."

Harry says "oh yes, Hermione I made some notes for you. I take less than five minutes before Harry starts handing her the notes he took mostly for her benefit."

Hermione starts to look through them before she ordered them and asks if they could get her trunk off the rack so she can put them away. She barely suppresses the urge to scream and thank Harry so much as she knew from the moment she saw them they would be very good and probably everything she needs.

30th June 1993, King's Cross station, London

Harry and Hermione leave through the portal as the last ones. All the muggleborn's need to use it as the witches and wizards can apparate out or use one of the couples of floo connection. It was tradition to go through the portal when you leave for school on September 1st or come back from Holiday like Yule and Easter. How you leave the platform after your child or children came back is your own decision. The Weasley's used the floo while Neville, Daphne and Tracey were apparated out. Neville by his grandmother, Daphne by her father as was Tracey. He saw Draco apparate out with a woman probably his mother.

When they enter the station hall. When Hermione sees her parents she gives a large smile. She gives Harry a very big hug. She wants to introduce Harry to her parents as her best friend. However just as she let go a man grabs Harry by his shoulder and says "there you are boy. Get your stuff and go home. It is already bad enough I need to get you here and I don't have time for ….. this."

It is Uncle Vernon. He thinks 'this girl is probably a witch. Unnatural freaks both of them. Better get away as soon as I can with the freak. I will punish him with enough chores as I can't call her anything bad here in public.'

Hermione looks surprised and watches Harry mean let away by this whale of a man. She walks still shocked towards her parents. She follows them but they can't get her to talk to them.

Let's end here for now. It is a large chapter as I just wanted to reach the summer. In the next chapter, we will see the summer and the start of the school year of the third year.
