Amber: Hello. Enjoy the chapter!

Amber

"What do you mean, that's all you do?" said Amber.

"I mean what I said." answered Goldie through the Iris message. "You walk up to them, say hi, and eventually become friends!"

Amber played with her fingers nervously for a second, stopped, fished her fidget cube out of her pocket, and played with that. "You know it isn't that easy..."

Goldie rolled her eyes. "Yes it is." She glanced behind her for a second. "It's almost time for capture the flag. Good luck!" With that, she swiped her hand through the Iris message, ending the call.

Amber sighed and gripped the shoulder strap of her blue, geometrically patterned backpack tightly.

"Well, here goes nothing."

With that, she walked into the town.

...

...

...

Well... this wasn't quite what she was expecting. It looked... normal. Very, very normal. Amber was actually kind of relieved that it looked so dull. She was so used to very strange things around her, that she forgot what normal felt like. And it was actually sorta nice.

But really, she was expecting something somewhat like her visions. "Maybe there's more in the forest?" she wondered, eager to find whatever things she could recognize from her visions. She quickly ran into the forest, her dark braid swinging behind her.

The forest was cooler than the town, offering relief from the hot summer sun. To Amber, everything seemed strangely sleepy yet wide-awake. She scanned her eyes through the forest, searching.

Something moved in the bushes, and Amber turned toward it, a hand on her tube of lip balm on instinct. The bush shook a little, and a little jackalope hopped out.

Amber cooed and petted it between the ears. She smiled in triumph. 'So there is some abnormality around here.' she thought. She spent the rest of the day exploring the forest.

Time skip

After an eventful walk through the forest, involving several gnomes, a bow and arrows, arrogant minotaurs, a staff, a weird grownup overweight cherub Eros wannabe, a dagger, and several adorable little snakes, Amber walked back to the little cabin she rented out in the woods. She hadn't found anything that really brought anything back, but it had been fun. She hadn't actually talked to anybody, even though, as Goldie said, "The key to finding out what happened is to talk to people." It wasn't her fault she was incredibly shy!

"I'll talk to people tomorrow" she mumbled, before falling asleep.

Amber: Well, that's it for today! Please review!
