"Brainy, what do you mean they were hugging when you left? Because yesterday Kara came to our house sobbing her eyes out, because apparently Lena told her to leave as soon as she told her identity and, while my sister sobs, she unhappily mentions that Lex was attempting to start a war between America and Kaznia! only to find out on the news that Lex Luthor stopped the Kaznians, and is now apparently a hero of America!" Alex shouts as she begins to pace in the hall of DEO away from the others while Brainy listens.
"And instead of grabbing the glory like he always does, he does this!" Alex is out of breath as she finishes her rant.
"May I speak Director Danvers?" Brainy says politely hoping not to start another rant, Alex nods as she tries to regain her breath.
Brainy nods his thanks as he beings to pace as well. "Well Director Danvers let me explain, for the last five hours I have been helping Miss Luthor and Martin with the completion of the equipment you wear now and I found something quite shocking."
Flashback: Five Hours before Lex's invasion
Brainy walks through the L-Corp to Lena's office soon meeting and assistants desk, instead of the famous Jess in the seat, it was a man.
"Do you have an appointment sir?" The man says glaring at Brainy, the man had dark skin and black hair wearing a dark blue suit and a pair of clear glasses, the man continued to glare as Brainy realizes that he still hasn't answered the question.
"My apologies, Miss Luthor had called me."
The man nods pressing the comm on his right ear. "I'll need your name."
Brainy pauses thinking about which name should he use, his friends like to call him Brainy, though his name is Brainic 5 or he could use his chosen name that he had calculated based on his appearance Querl Dox, before Brainy could finish his thoughts.
Lena leaves her office wearing a black suit and tie, her hair in a ponytail with a determined but cold look in her eyes.
"Follow me Agent Dox." Lena orders causing a frown to appear on Brainy's face as he follows.
"this could be very troubling." Brainy worries.
"You too, Mars!" the young man who was reading a comic at the time eyes widen at the Luthor's voice.
Mars excitedly jumps over the desk while putting on a lab coat. "Sorry, Lena I have been so bored today." Mars whines, "I don't how Jesse does it."
Lena uncharacteristically giggles as Brainy watches the two from behind.
"Well maybe you should listen to your wife more, Martin when she tells how boring it is sitting at a desk for hours on end."
Lena smirks as Martin groans hearing his real name. Lena has known Martin since the first time Jess came to work at L-Corp, and has been friends her husband Martin and her wife Carol since, though it was a first for Lena to find out her assistant was happily married to two people who were veterans.
"Why have you called me here?, Lena" Brainy asks as much as he loves seeing Lena happy, he knows that Lena called him for a reason not just for her to show him that she has more friends.
Lena's face turns cold as she remembers why she was going to her lab in the first place.
"I know Brainy" Lena deadpans knowing she doesn't need to explain what she's talking about though Martin was confused.
Brainy's usually calm face falters, 'I knew this was coming but I hate the look on Lena's face, it's cold and broken.' Brainy nods to get his thoughts while Martin is still confused.
"I asked you here to help me with my brother and to help finish the other equipment ."
Lena pulls one of the books on her shelves in her office causing Martin to chuckle.
"What?" Lena's furrows confused of what's funny.
"What I just thought since you are legally one of the smartest people on the planet that you would have a cooler secret entrance." Martin reasons as Brainy looks into the supposedly secret lab in Lena's office.
"What is that!" Brainy shocked points at a hospital bed with a man on it, the man at red skin made out of Nth Metal one of the strongest metal on earth and had a yellow T on his chest.
"This is my substitute brother Xander Luthor or as he was named by General Samuel Lane."
"The Red Tornado."
METROPOLIS
the children were laughing, as the sound of traffic echoed around the city as Clark Kent was looked at his city on top of the Daily Planet, his eyes closed feeling the power of the sun enter his body with Lois Lane smiling at glad her husband is feeling relaxed and calm not always looking through the windows of his office ready to save anyone in danger.
Clark has always carried the weigh of the world on his shoulders as he often does.
Now he's relaxed, and that is something Lois can only wish for her husband to feel all the time.
"Enjoying the sunlight?, Smallville trying to get a tan?" Lois jokes gaining a smile from Clark.
"No I'm just enjoying the peace." Clark answer honestly.
Usually the sounds of the city would overload his ears but there were always moments like this where he could hear the kids playing, the wind flowing make music through the trees, an old couple bickering not wanting to let go of their children just yet arguing about how unfair how fast they've grown, just people enjoying life.
That's one of the reasons he's Superman, his presence could turn a violent mugging or robbery into a story of hope where Superman saved someone and that people use him as a inspiration to become better people.
Sadly Clark's peace ends when Lex Luthor appears on the news. "Clark!" Lois shouts looking at Lex Luthor who make a speech about humans should fight back against the evil.
Lois looks at Clark concerned for her husband and Kara.
"Be safe, Clark." Clark nods giving Lois a comforting smile begins to fly but is stopped feeling a tug on his cape.
"Promise me, Clark that you'll be safe for me and Jon." Lois pleads tearfully but serious.
Clark's smile turns serious at his wife's plea, he knows Lex is dangerous even more now since he has the Haren El running through his veins and there have been a lot of close calls fighting against Lex.
Clark floats back down rubbing the arms of Lois. "I'll be okay Lois I Promise, I have Kara, J'onn and I'll call Bruce, I won't be fighting alone."
Clark smiles brightly once again which Lois mirrors. "Kick his bald head, Smallville." Clark nodded and then flew the skies.
GOTHAM
Bruce Wayne sat in the bat cave, listening to Lex Luthor's speech. "He's really pulling out all the stops, isn't he Bruce?" Andrea Beaumont-Wayne says while Bruce puts on his suit.
"From the data on Lena gave me, Lex is using black kryptonite to make himself stronger than the average human being, making it more difficult to take him down."
Bruce puts on his cowl as Andrea prepares the Bat-mobile.
"Where's Alfred?" Bruce asks noticing no one here but his wife Andrea who he has been married to, since the beginning of his journey of becoming the Dark Knight, and he wouldn't know want to do without her.
"I ordered him to take a break." Andrea smirks in triumph that she finally got Alfred to take a break.
"I swear you work him to death some times." Andrea jokes knowing her husband loves his butler like a father.
Bruce nods agreeing with his wife.
Alfred has done so much in his life despite his old age he basically raised him, he definitely deserves a break. Bruce walks to his redhead of a wife and kisses her sweetly an action that always leaves Andrea buzzing.
"Be safe." Andrea whispers, as the Bat Mobile drives out of the batcave.
