There's a movement in my head
Satan? Angels? What can it be?
It's growing!
It's stirring!
It's churning, shifting!
Bending!
In that town, that faithful night, a newly awakened entity arose. From the depths of the mountain range, covered in the blood of a human, this being opened her glowing purple eyes. Her green hair was now cascading like water down her back, sprouting twinkling stars within the waves. Her skin was still dark like the ground, but now bore small star shaped marks on her shoulder blades. Her nails grew longer, her face more angular, and her body much smoother. Even her height was taller, ripping through her old kimono with ease. The last lingering effect was her breathing had changed, making her appear ethereal.
Slowly, she reached a hand upwards to the heavens as if to reach out and touch them.
"My queen, you have awakened." A smooth voice said beside her, making her turn slightly to the left. She then noticed how her head was now upon the knees of a pale faced handsome being. She could sense that he was powerful just by looking at him, giving him an air of royalty in her mind.
"Mu-Chan?" The woman's voice was coarse and rough. She coughed before smiling happily, fangs poking out her mouth. "You lived! You're alive!" She placed her hands on her face and stood up. "No wait...I'm alive! How is this possible?"
Her companion said nothing, but tears were slowly coming down his face as he stood. Wrapping his arms around her body, he pressed a small kiss on her neck. Shivers ran down her spine at this sudden show of affection.
"You have been asleep for days. I wasn't sure you were ever going ti wake up." He murmured, placing more kisses on her nape. "I hid you underneath this mountainside, away from the sunlight to protect you." He turned to face her now shocked look. "Your powers granted my wish and now we can live forever. You can be my queen, Hoshihime, and together we can rule the world."
"Huh? What on Earth are you getting at Mu-Chan? I don't want to rule the world!" She poked him on the nose, surprising him greatly. "I just want to be with you. I don't care about anything else besides being with you and maybe starting a family. Though...being a fairy princess might be fun!" She twirled underneath the moonlight, catching his eye. "I feel great! Whatever happened to me after I died must've given me a boost."
"About that..." She could hear the hesitation in his voice. "You are not human anymore. In fact, I am not human anymore as well."
She stopped twirling, giving him a curious gaze. "What do you mean by that?"
He now resented turning her into a demon.
The sunlight was harmful to them, making her quite sad by the fact that she could never be in the sun ever again. When he had told her that she was now a demon, she at first listened without saying a word. He told her about how he needs the Blue Spider Lily to be in the sun. How he slaughtered their entire town in a blood frenzy. How she would now need to feast on humans to live. She was quiet after the whole explanation, and Muzan couldn't blame her. He had changed her against her will and killed her only family. This made him turn away from her, not wanting to see her reaction.
She probably resents me now. My queen would never want to live a life like this.
"Mu-Chan..." Sorashi finally spoke, making him flinch. "I would never hate you nor would I scorn you because of something you can't control. It wasn't your fault that this all happened and I'm not leaving you despite all this. You are the one who made that wish and with wishing comes consequences. You don't have to walk this life alone."
She wrapped her arms around his body, leaning her head against his back. "For better or for worse, I will stay by your side. If you need me to comfort you, I will. If you need me to die for you, I will give my life. You are the last remnant of my humanity and I will never let you go."
Something inside him lit up with feelings of joy and hope. How he dreamed that she would say those words to him one day. This was like a scene out of one of her various stories where the prince and the princess live happily ever after. This was that moment, the moment where he vowed to live in the Star Palace as her red star lover and protect her from the evils of this world.
He gently grasped her hand and placed a soft kiss on them. "Then let me grant your wish, my queen. You will have your twelve stars, your grand palace, and your own kingdom that will never die. Stay with me and this I shall bestow upon you."
She smiled at him, patting his face. "Thank you Mu-Chan. The future looks much brighter now that you are here with me."
Two demons stood in the moonlight, closing the gap that had separated them for years. Their lips touched, forming a bond that would never be severed and would last for a lifetime.
This is how the King of Demons and the Queen of the Night started their journey.
Many years have passed since the night of the two becoming one.
Sorachi and Muzan had been together for hundreds of years and were still going strong. They were not married yet, both wanting to build their new home before finally tying the knot. The pale man would create many demons in his lifetime to find the Blue Spider Lily to make him and his beloved perfect beings. Throughout the many demons that he created, none of them were good enough to protect his princess.
One night, while he was away on business, Sorashi had snuck out of their temporary base and went into the nearby village. It had been so long since she saw real people and she wanted to at least smell some freshly made meals. While she didn't consume humans, she instead drank their blood when she needed a quick fix. Since she drank blood, she also had to sleep for days on end. Donning a new outfit from Muzan, she fixed herself to look more human. Her green hair was pinned up in a nice bun. She wore a icy blue flower ornament with a chain of pearls on the right side of her hair. She also wore a short purple kimono with silver stars, black boots, and a veil to cover her face. Looking around, she made a mad dash towards the bright lights of the village.
It was relaxing, seeing all the little children running about. The men going home to greet their wives after a long day and dinner being served from the windows. Sorashi sat down on a park bench, just silently observing the surroundings from behind her veil. A loud cry rung out in the area as everyone started running away frantically. She shot upwards, the distinct smell of blood filling her nose.
I smell blood...wherever there is blood, there's a demon! Or someone killing another person...
She stopped in front of a nice house on the outskirts of town where she saw the familiar face of Muzan staring over a downed demon woman. This woman, however, was covered in blood and crying her heart out as she gave him a hateful glare. Sorashi could hear his mocking laughter before coming out in the opening.
"Excuse me, but what is going on here? Why is she crying her eyes out?" Using her disguised voice, she stared Muzan down with her hands on her hips.
Muzan gave her a glare, not knowing that it was her in disguise. "Looks like another pest here to eliminate me from the Demon Corps." He stared down at his newly formed demon. "Dispose of her."
Sorashi smirked before crouching down and leaping upwards, shocking the woman and Muzan as she landed in front of them. Taking off the veil, she laughed at her boyfriend's surprised face before kissing him on the cheek.
"Do you honestly think that I would be so easy to take down after all these years? You know me better than that Mu-Chan!" Leaning down, she looked at the woman with a sad face. "What's wrong Miss?"
The woman looked up with her angered eyes before seeing the kindness in her eyes. Her rage slowly died down as she accepted her embrace and cried in her arms.
"Tamayo...My family...I ate my own family..." The young lady cried, Sorashi tightening her hug on her. "He turned me into a monster and mocked me as I did so! I just wanted to heal my family!"
Sorashi sighed, patting her back in a soothing manner before giving Muzan a sinister smile. "I see now...don't worry then Tamayo! For I am the fairy of the stars, I grant wishes and make people feel better." Giving her a soft smile, she grabbed her hands. "What do you wish for Tamayo-nee?"
Tamayo gave her a confused gaze before looking away. "I...well...I cannot tell you right now."
"That's okay, you don't have to say it right now. Let's bring you back to our lair and get you some new clothes. You are about my size, so my stuff should fit you." She cast a glance at Muzan before hugging her new friend. "I'll help you through this process."
Without her king, she left him to help out her newfound friend.
Tamayo was a strange woman, but a close friend. She made some of the best years of Sorashi's life.
Several nights with the woman made Sorashi long to have more female friends. The two would spend hours talking about their past lives, their hopes, and even their dreams. Some of those nights were spent with Tamayo braiding her hair, sharing clothes, and protecting her from Muzan's wrath. The woman had a vendetta against him, but she actually grew to like Sorashi.
Which was starting to make Muzan upset.
"How long are you going to ignore me Sorashi?" The lair was nearly complete, the final adjustments being put in that week. During this time, Sorashi had been locked up in her room with Tamayo and ignoring Muzan due to his actions against her new friend. As he past her room for the umpteenth time, he couldn't help but feel jealous of the two's fast friendship. Just as he was going to break down the door, Sorashi had emerged in her human disguise.
"Until you admit that turning Tamayo-nee into a demon was wrong! All she wanted to do was heal her family and you made her kill them!" Sorashi snapped, giving him a harsh glare. "I finally got her to calm down and she feels comfortable around me. I can tolerate being turned since I was about to die, but she had her whole life ahead of her. How can you be so cruel Mu-Chan?"
His eyes flashed red with anger as he grabbed her by the wrist and slammed her onto the wall. "I am cruel? I too was unwillingly turned into a demon all those years ago and you never felt like that around me. Why should I show her the same courtesy that you give her? Is she going to steal you away from me?"
Now it was Sorashi's turn to flash her eyes purple in anger. "So that's what this is all about huh? I get one female friend who is just like me and you are mad that we are bonding." She gripped the hand that held her own wrist and took it off her. "I'm going away for awhile, I don't know when I'll be back, but I hope you get it through your head that no one will ever replace you in my heart Muzan."
Something snapped in his nonexistent heart as she ran off in a flash. For all the years she had known him, she had never referred to him in his true name. She always called him by "Mu-Chan" and always with a bright smile on her face.
That face was now marred with disappointment and sadness.
The base rumbled now with anger and grief coming off Muzan as he realized he was the one that messed up. Now she was gone...and he had no idea of when she would be back.
Even if he had to raze the Earth, he would be getting his queen back.
Tears streamed down her face as she ran through the woods. Her heart was beginning to break as she clenched her chest hard from the fight she just had with Muzan.
This was their first fight and it physically hurt her to say those truthful words. Muzan had to learn that playing God never ended well for anyone. Even as she transverses the woods, her breathing was starting to become irregular. She slowed down, feeling woozy as she slipped in and out of consciousness.
I need to find a place...to sleep...I forgot to take my blood...
Falling to the ground, Sorashi felt herself slipping into hibernation. The poor demoness blinked her eyes slowly as two figures were seen approaching her at a fast rate. She slightly feared for her life because she was scared that they would be those slayers that Muzan told her about.
If I am to die...I want to at least grant Tamayo-nee's wish...
Soft arms wrapped around her body as she was brought close to someone's chest. Their steady heartbeat being the thing that slowly lulled her to sleep.
Michikatsu made sure that the woman he had picked up was safely secured in his arms. Both he and his brother Yoriichi saw her wobbling in the woods, before panicking as she fell to the ground. She didn't smell drunk nor was she drugged. When he picked her up, she went right asleep and even cuddle in his arms.
He may or may have not blushed unintentionally.
His mark was also starting to throb painfully, but he ignored it.
"Brother, we need to head back to camp. We can take her with us." Yoriichi said, gaining his attention once more.
"Right." He was always one for simple talk, not wanting to voice his envy of his powerful brother. Hugging the girl near his body, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked. Even in sleep, she seemed like a goddess with green hair and little star marks on her shoulders. He even thought he saw them glow briefly when his fingers brushed against them.
Perhaps when she awoke, he could probably get a name out of her.
The princess had ran away from her palace.
Her red star was now searching for her.
However, unbeknownst to both of them...
The first star had been found.
