It had been a month since mass chaos had occurred. Corine was given some personal time off, to recover from the trauma she had endured. On this particular night, she had the same nightmare she had been having for the last month. She tossed in turned in her sleep. Tears rolling down her face. In her dreams, she saw herself dangling there, holding onto dear life on the Stark Industries tower. There he stood, cackling at her, she was hopeless. He didn't even dare save her. The Avengers, nowhere to be found. Then... she slipped. That when Corine would wake up, screaming. Her heart racing, sweat dripping down her forehead. Suddenly, her stomach felt as if it had been churning. She quickly flew out of the bed, barely making it to her bathroom. She wretched in the toilet for a good bit. Once her stomach was finally at ease, Corine stood up making her way to the sink to splash some cold water on her face. She trembled, staring at her reflection into the mirror. She glanced up, and he was standing behind her. Startled, she quickly turned around, to find absolutely no one there. After a few moments, she was back in bed. Corine looked over to her alarm clock, it was blinking 3:00 AM in bright blue lights. She stared at those blue lights, until finally she began drifting off to sleep again.

A few hours later, her alarm was going off, the sounds of the city blaring through the window again that morning. She groaned, that same churning in her stomach had occurred. Once again, she was high tailing it to the bathroom, retching into the toilet. Once she was calm again, she began to panic. "Okay Corine...this had been going on for about...two weeks. This...this isn't good." Her fingers ran through her auburn curls. "Fuck. Fuck. FUCK!" She quickly stood up, sprinting to her chest of drawers. She had quickly changed into a white, fitted turtle neck, and a pair of ripped skinny jeans that she could barely button up. "What the...no. These just fit last week!" After fighting to button up her jeans, she wrapped a blanket scarf around her neck, before sprinting out of her apartment. She raced down the stairs, passing by neighbors as they attempted to greet her. Her door man quickly moved out of the way, yet attempted to stop her in her path, "Hey, Hey, Corine! Everything okay? You look ill." She was trembling, "Oh..yeah, yeah I am fine Harrold. I need to run to the drug store really quick!" With that, she quickly hailed down a taxi, sliding in quickly. "The Walgreens on fifth and Broadway. Step on it."

Corine had found herself staring down the biggest type of test she thought she would never face. She was attempting to hold back tears, as she grabbed nearly one of each pregnancy test, she could grab her hands on. She quickly filled her basket with tests, large bottles of water. After another taxi ride home, and her now friend, Pepper meeting her back at her apartment, the two women found themselves sitting in the bathroom floor. Corine, tears rolling down her face, "How could I be this stupid? Me... of all fucking people. I get pregnant by someone who nearly tried to kill everyone, including myself." Pepper rubbed Corine's arm, attempting to comfort her, "I don't think you're stupid. These kinds of things happen all of the time, with hookups." Corine sobbed into her hands. "Yes, because most women meet men in bars, have sex, and come to find out they are Gods from a whole different world, and want could have nothing but to destroy us." Pepper sighs, "Cor, this isn't something you could have predicted." Corine shook her head, "It is something I could have prevented though. I had just gotten off my pills, thinking I was going to wait a while anyways," Corine sobbed. Pepper sighs, "The real question is...what are you going to do now? There's absolutely no way of contacting him." Corine sighs, "And say what? Oh hey, me again, By the way I am fucking pregnant and it just so happens to be yours!" Pepper giggled slightly, "If you said it like that, he may have a full-on breakdown."

Hours after Pepper had left, and Corine had finally calmed down, she was sitting at her kitchen table. Her laptop in front of her. She was doing research on a Doctor Jane Foster. Someone she had referenced to, who possibly knew of Thor? Was this even worth it? Attempting to get the message out to him? What if he is long gone? Or even dead? Corine slid her hand down to her not so pregnant belly. Infact, she was still as thin as she normally was. She felt her hand around, was there really something in there? A little version of her growing inside? Shee sighs, as she picked up her phone dialing the number she had found online. The line trilled for a bit, then...her heart stopped. "Hi, yes...umm...may I speak to Jane Foster please? Oh, hi...my name is Corine Basinger. I am Tony Stark's attorney. Oh...no, no... actually, I am the one needing your help. It has to do with your friend's brother..."

The next night she was waiting in a diner, sipping on a coffee. She was waiting patiently on the person Dr. Foster had been sending. She trembled; this was terrifying as her hanging off the ledge of her boss' building. "Corine?" The voice was familiar, it was HIM. His brother, Thor. "Holy fuck. She...she sent you? Okay, no, no this was a mistake. I am sorry for wasting your..." As she attempted to escape the booth she was sitting in, Thor blocked her, "No, no we do need to speak." Corine gulped, sliding back into the booth, while he sat down in the opposite side. Thor rose a brow, "I am not my brother, I am not ready to attack at every word you'll say, don't be afraid to talk to me." Corine automatically began to cry. Whether it was fear or the newly added hormones, who knew. "My first question...is he...dead?" Thor shook his head, "No. But he is imprisoned in our dungeon. Our father could not take the fact he attempted to overrule a peaceful realm such as Midgard." Corine, with tears rolling down her cheeks, "Oh god, now this...this complicates everything." Thor, confused, he rose a brow again, "Lady Corine, what... what are you talking about?" The auburn-haired woman, sniffled, "Well you see, the day he attacked wasn't the first time we had met. I had met him a previous night, we were both drunk..." Thor's eye grew wide, "Did he... did you both...did he bed you?" Corine simply nodded. Thor pinched the bridge of his nose, "That snake. He was trying to manipulate you, I am sure." Corine shook her head, "I had fault in this, He didn't force me into anything. But I am afraid we are now both in a situation. Thor cocked his head, until a lightbulb went off in his mind. "Oh...Oh no, are you. Are you with child?" Corine then burst into tears, nodding. She had no more to say. "I...I do hate to add onto this, but...as an Asgardian prince, a god, we must inform him of his offspring." Corine's eyes widened, "We? I can't face him, I really can't. I have nightmares of him, yet I have dreams about his charm...that night." Thor sighs, "Corine, I can promise you, you'll be protected. He can't harm you from his cell." Corine had to think for a moment, could this be happening? Was she really about to face this?' Face him, and tell him she is pregnant? Yes...yes, she was. Corine's deep blue hues avert back up to his, "Okay. I'll go." Thor nodded, "Jane is already in Asgard for a more pressing issue that's occurred as well. So, you won't be alone."

The two both got up quickly from the booth, making their way outside of the diner and around back. "Hold on, this will feel rushed." Corine wrapped her arms his burly torso, before they both disappeared into thin air. Thor had escorted her over the rainbow bridge, putting her on the back of his horse as they rode towards that grand, golden palace. She was in total awe. Is this how he lived? Wealthy, well known, a prince? Would this mean that child would be royal? Once the two had reached the palace, guards helped her down from the stallion. Thor was greeted by Jane, with a kiss of course. Another woman, a bit older stood by Jane. Thor was whispering things to the two of them, it caused Corine to grow anxious. The older woman, her expression was as if her heart had just stopped, when her eyes averted to hers. She slowly approached Corine, with a warm smile. Thor and Jane, nodded to Corine, before they stepped away to give the two women some privacy. "Corine, it was very lovely to meet you. My name is Frigga, the Queen of Asgard." Corine's eyes grew wide, "I... I am so sorry for the circumstances on which I was brought here. I can go if things will worsen for.." Frigga held her hand up, "My dear, you are expecting a child, my grandchild at that matter. It is a thrill, though circumstances with Loki are quite difficult at the moment. Come, my dear, we will settle you in your own private quarters."

Hours had gone by, Corine was now resting in her own private bed chambers. She had been assigned a few ladies in waiting, guards, and her own healer. In the throne room however, tension was higher than ever. Loki had been requested for an audience by Odin once more. Along with Frigga and Thor. Once he was brought in, with shackles around both wrists and his neck, Loki chuckled, "My, a family gathering? Oh how I have missed these." Odin slammed his scepter onto the ground, as he rose to his feet, "Loki, this is no matter that is amusing." Loki smirked, "When is it ever?" Thor growled, "Enough Loki, you have caused even more damage than what you think you have." Loki was dumbfounded, a brow rose, "I'm sorry, have I not been imprisoned for the last few weeks?" Frigga sighs, slowly approaching her son, "Loki, while...while you were in Midgard. Did you possibly...get distracted somehow? With someone?" Loki smirked, "I don't get distracted. I was simply there to rule over all Midgardians." Odin growled a low growl, "Stop lying! We know, we know about the mortal girl. The one you bedded the night before you caused mass destruction!" Loki's eyes grew rather wide, "What of her? I have bedded plenty of women for years now, and now there is an issue?" Frigga sighed, "Loki, she is with child. Your child." Loki's heart felt as if it had stopped, "No...no it isn't possible. How would you even know. She is on Midgard." Frigga shook her head, "She is here, safe in her own quarters. She will remain her until this child arrives." Loki, breathing heavily. How could this be, she a mortal, bearing his first child. It would be considered a bastard would it not? His eyes avert pleadingly to Odin, "Send her back. It can't be mine." Thor angrily approached his brother, yanking him by the chains of his shackles, "We have seen the proof, Brother. She is carrying your child! You were not careful in this situation, and you are causing her more pain if you are to send her back with this child alone!" Loki trembled, for the first time in quite some time now, he truly felt defeated. "i...I made a vow. To rule alone. No marriage...no offspring." Frigga, with tears forming in her eyes, "Loki..." Loki was losing it, rage filling up inside of him, "ENOUGH! I cannot, nor will I be a father to this bastard of a child! I had made my vows many years ago. Days before I was to marry Lady Sigyn, and I refuse to break those vows. I rather be executed, than to go about my days knowing I am to be a father of a mistake I made with a mortal!" Frigga gasped; her heart felt as if it had shattered. Odin growled, "ENOUGH LOKI. You are to be sentenced once more. I am giving you free reign of this palace, under strict supervision. You are to go about your princely duties, and you are to be prepared to have an heir. If you wish to continue a path of redemption and rule this realm, I suggest you man up, my son. You are to be a father." Loki, perked a brow. Another chance at becoming kin? Was this even worth it?
