A FEW HOURS LATER

Mal was in the backyard practicing her magic when Evie came outside and smiled at her sister.

Mal chanted a spell to make a plant grow but it wasn't working making Mal frustrated. Evie giggled softly and walked over to Mal, putting her hands on her shoulders.

"M, calm down. You'll get it right." Evie said softly as Mal sighed.

"I know, E. But I've been practicing this spell for a whole month now and I still can't get it right!" Mal exclaimed as she flopped onto a chair. Evie sighed as she sat next to Mal.

"It's okay, Mal. I know that very soon, you'll get the spell right. I know you can." Evie said making Mal smile at her.

"Thanks, E." Mal said as Evie smiled at her.

"Now, come on. Belle's making some brownies."

"Yummy!" Mal exclaimed as she and Evie giggled as they ran to the kitchen.

Once the two reached the kitchen, they saw Belle cutting the brownies as everyone crowded around her to get a piece. After she finished cutting the cake, everyone grabbed a piece and started shoving them into their mouths.

"Jeez, slow down." Belle said as Brian shrugged.

"You make the best brownies, Mom. There's no way we're slowing down." He replied as he grabbed another piece as Belle chuckled softly. Mal hummed as she finished the brownie and licked her finger.

"I don't get how you make the best brownies, Mom."

"Yeah. I tried making these and no one even ate them." Nicole said as she rolled her eyes.

"Didn't you burn them?" Ben asked as his sister shook her head.

"No. Isabelle was the one that burned hers." She replied making everyone look at Isabelle.

"What! It's not my fault a good part in the song that I was playing came up and I got lost in singing along to it!" She exclaimed as she put her hands up in defense. Arianna and Nicole looked at each other before bursting out laughing making everyone except Isabelle laugh.

Isabelle huffed and rolled her eyes.

Arianna stopped laughing and put her hand over her mouth and cleared her throat.

"I'm sorry, Isa. But...How could you forget?" Arianna asked making Isabelle sigh.

"I got lost in the song I guess." Isabelle replied as she shrugged her shoulders.

"You are so Mom's daughter." Ben said as Brian and Nicole agreed.

"I remember when Mom was watching a movie on her phone while she was baking a cake and forgot about the cake." Nicole said as Belle laughed as put her head in her hands.

"Oh, god. I don't even remember what movie I was watching." Belle said as she rubbed her temple.

"I do! It was "Murder Mystery". That day I walked into the kitchen and saw Mom watching the movie and I could smell the cake burning." Brian said making Adam chuckle and rub Belle's back.

"It wasn't the first cake she's burned from watching a movie." Adam said making Belle slap his chest as Adam and the kids burst out laughing. Belle rolled her eyes before laughing with the group.

2 HOURS LATER

Everyone was sitting outside, helping Mal with her magic as she tried a teleporting spell.

Mal tried to teleport a drink out of Nicole's hand to Belle but when it didn't work, Mal let out a frustrated groan.

"Mal, calm down. It's okay." Isabelle said as Mal put her head in her hands.

"No, it's not! I've been trying to do this spell for the past three weeks!" Mal exclaimed as Nicole sighed and stood up, giving her drink to Belle.

"How 'bout you try this. I've noticed that you keep your eyes open and you get distracted by whatever is around you. Why don't you try closing your eyes and you think in your mind about what you want to happen as you say the spell. Say...you want to teleport to the Enchanted Lake. Think about your first date with Ben. Use your five senses." Nicole said as Mal nodded and closed her eyes.

Nicole walked around in a circle around Mal as she said, "Use your five senses. One is sight, what do you see?"

Mal imagined the Enchanted Lake and said, "I see the pillars where Ben and I sat. I see the clear, blue lake...And the rock Ben gave to me that I threw back."
Ben chuckled when he recalled that memory.

"Great. Now. What do you hear?" Nicole asked as she continued walking around Mal.

"I hear...The water running down the waterfall. The birds chirping and the frogs croaking."

"Mhmm. What do you taste?"

"Food."

"O...kay?"

"I was eating food that day, what do you expect?" Mal asked as Nicole rolled her eyes.

"Focus." She replied sternly.

"Sorry." Mal whispered.

"What do you taste?"

"Salt...From the lake."

"Okay. What do you smell? And please don't say food. I'm hungry."

"I smell...the dirt from the woods."

"Mhmm."

"I smell...The concrete?"

"Yes. What do you feel?"

"I feel the cool water. I feel the rocks in the water as I step in." Mal said before she didn't hear anything from Nicole. Mal slowly opened her eyes and saw the Enchanted Lake in front of her.

"Oh, my god!" She exclaimed happily as she kicked the water that was at her feet. Mal then took a deep breath and chanted a spell before opening her eyes to see Nicole and her family in front of her.

Nicole smirked at her.

"Worked didn't it?" Nicole said as Mal jumped into Nicole's arms and hugged her tightly.

"Thank you so much!" Mal said as Nicole hugged her back.

"Just helping my sister-in-law out." Nicole shrugged before Brian stood up.

"How about...You try teleporting all of us?" He suggested as Mal let go of Nicole and looked at her. Nicole looked at Mal and smiled.

"I believe in you." She whispered as Mal closed her eyes. She tried her best to concentrate but, she couldn't.

"Concentrate Mal." She heard Nicole say before she heard someone gasp and then everything went black.
