Woot with the 23rd comes the second prompt for 9 days and here is my submission although just to warn people this chapter is about Ruby discovering she's pregnant so there's the implied sex reference in here plus puking. Oh, and the song theme for this chapter is If these sheets were states by All-time low.
Yawning as she woke Ruby smiled noticing the comfortable sensation of Jaune's warm arms wrapped around her as he slept snoring lightly making her sigh in content. Feeling no reason to get up yet Ruby rolled over slightly hugging Jaune back as she cherished the feeling of his warm body cuddling her.
They had been together for a couple years, Ruby thought feeling bliss as she ran her hands through his blonde hair. It had gotten longer since Beacon, they had all grown a lot since then and Ruby couldn't help but notice his stubble tickling her neck making her giggle.
The sound seemed to wake Jaune up smiling softly he kissed her cheek before he blinked his sleep away looking up to Ruby "good morning." he greeted her smiling.
"Hi." was Ruby's happy reply as she leaned in to kiss him again, their lips joining for a moment, but as Ruby went to deepen the kiss, she was hit by a wave of nausea making her pale.
Saying nothing she broke the kiss turning into a flurry of rose petals and racing into the bathroom, it wasn't a moment too soon as when she had gotten there, she quickly emptied her stomach into the toilet.
Following not far behind her Jaune quickly entered the room kneeling down next to her as he ran his hands through her hair before gently pulled her hair back so that she wouldn't get sick in her hair. Rubbing soft circles on her back as he did his best to comfort her, sighed he did his best not to overwhelm her "just let it all out, you're going to be fine." Jaune told her holding her hair gently.
"I don't know what's wrong with me I just feel so sick." Ruby told him her voice weak between her hurls as she slowly began to get better, her aura beginning to kick in.
"Maybe it was something you ate?" Jaune suggested as he gently patted Ruby's back reaching for the roll of tissue but not before he put his free hand on her shoulder, his ring pressing against her bare skin which never failed to bring her comfort reminding them of the promise they had made to each other.
"I ate the same things as you," she told him as Jaune wiped the sick from her mouth with a tissue resting her head against Jaune's shoulder which was when he later heard her empty stomach growl.
"If your ill you're going to need to eat to get better," Jaune told her kissing her forehead feeling relieved when he didn't notice a temperature rise "I'll go make you some eggs and toast," he told her helping to lower her down onto the floor in front of the toilet so she would be ready if she were to be sick again.
As Jaune left to make food Ruby sighted a box on the window still making her pause, they had forgotten to put it in the medicine cabinet when they had brought a new pack and so she slowly got up to test her guess.
After around a bit of time, Jaune returned carrying a plate of scrambled eggs and toast, and that was when he saw her making him pause, looking into her glistening silver eyes that never failed to captivate him. A flurry of emotions /as being conveyed by her eyes as she held the test up to him "I'm pregnant!" she told him making him drop the plates of food, the plates shattering against the floor. Not that he cared about that instead, he pulled her into a warm hug more than ready to start a family with her.
