Chapter 2: And the pieces start to fall into place

Standing on the other side of the door with darkness wrapped around him and a serious look on his face was none other than Takeru Takashi. I could tell that it was a conversation best left for in the house and not out in the open I opened the door wider. "Why don't you come in it might be best to be sitting down for this conversation."

TK followed me into the apartment and took a seat on the couch. "So how long?"

Confused I looked at him and cocked my head to the side. "How long what?"

"How long have you remembered? I just remembered last night but have had flashes since I saw you put Lucemon down."

I just gave him a sad smile and answered "I never died. The closest I came was when Devimon rose to power and I was sent here to keep the spirits from him and he took them from me. But I never died no matter that there were some points where I wanted to."

"Oh, Takuya." He said. "I wish then that I had remembered sooner if only so that you wouldn't have been left alone for so long. You never deserved that. Out of all of us, you were the only to never have been tempted by darkness." Leaning forward he hugged me.

"Now then tell me about was has happened since that battle."

Sitting down I called to Demiveemon to join. Taking a deep breath I started at the beginning for Demiveemon. "Many years ago the beast and human type Digimon fought all the time. One day an angel-type Digimon named Lucemon brought peace. However, like the saying goes Power Cruopts. Lucemon turned wicked and evil. Ten warriors rose to stop him and save the world. They then passed the mantel of ruling on to the three Digimon who is now called The Celestial Angels. Lucemon then curoputed one of the angels who in turn tainted 5 of the warriors: Earth, Metal, Wood, Water, and Darkness. He also kidnapped one of the other angels Lady Ophanimon. She then called 5 human kids to find and work with the spirits to put a stop to him.

"It was a hard battle with many ups and downs. After stopping the tainted Digimon they were joined by a sixth child and found out about Lucemon and stopped him as well. Peace returned to the Digital World and the kids returned to theirs. The peace was not meant to last though. Because of the taint left behind by Lucemon, a new Digimon rose: Apocalymon. He started his reign of terror by killing Lady Ophanimon and Lord Serphemon and nearly killed Lord Cherubimon.

"The 6 kids were then called back to the Digital world to stop him. However, they had no idea who it was that they were fighting. He had managed to masquerade as an ally of theirs so they failed to notice till too late that he was the enemy. The leader of the team had left the camp one night where they were staying and two royal knights managed to find and talk to him to warn him of Apocalymon before he got too strong. But it wasn't meant to be. He took them all down one by one. The leader of them went to transform as they turned into their Digimon but the spirits took over so he couldn't fight. They managed to seal him but at a cost. All but the leader was killed and the Digital World nearly destroyed. Apocalymon in a last-ditch effort to kill him stabbed him in the chest. The spirits of the wind took the lone survivor to the lone angel to heal him. In doing so his life force was bound to the spirits.

"The Digital World was put back together and no one remembers the sacrifices made to stop the foul Digimon. The legend of the warriors was lost to most. Devilmon though found out about it and tried to take them but The Last Legendary Warrior was sent to Earth to protect them. But before he escaped he was deaged and his memory wiped."

By the end of it, Demiveemon was near tears. "If it was lost how come you remember?" He asked.

"Simple. I am last. Or was till TK here remembered."

I noticed that at times while I was talking TK's eyes turned red. The same color as Duskmon's and the darkness seemed to get thicker. Turning to him I asked, "Are you aware that your eyes are changing color right now?"
Startled he looked up with red eyes and answered "No. I wasn't. Now that I think about it that might have been why Patamon asked me if I was okay."

Then the lights flickered as the darkness that surrounded him expanded to cover the whole room. After a minute it shrunk back down. "I have the feeling that something has upset the balance in the Digital World."

" It could be because of the return of the Dark Masters."

He just looked at me and said "Two things. One they are The Evil Masters. There is no way that I'm letting Darkness be associated with them. And two what do you mean their return?"

Sighing I told him what I'd been told. Shaking his head he opened his mouth to speak when the darkness around him pulsed out again. "We need to get you to the Digital World." I told him. Turning to DemiVeemon I said "If I'm not back in 3 days. Go to the computer room and stay there till someone comes and gets you."

I knew in my heart that that would be the last time that I saw him for a while and wanted him to be safe. TK just nodded and followed me to the Digital World. He probably had the same feeling I did and didn't want to startle the poor Digimon.

Landing in the place that had once been the fire terminal I lead him down to where Kouji had found his spirits and stopped. "How do you want to do this? Do you want me to put you to sleep or just seal this place off?"

"There's a too high a chance that Lobomon will need to be placed in here again due to your orders it would be best to just seal it but have it open in Kouji's reincarnation's presence." Lowemon said walking out of the shadows with Duskmon.

"After you seal this place down Lowemon and I will merge with him like what happened to you. That way it will be harder for anyone to get their hands on the Warriors of Darkness." Duskmon finished.

I looked at TK who looked lost in thought for a minute then nodded. As I was going to leave to seal the room he called out to me. "Takuya wait."

I turned back to him expecting him to tell me to take Duskmon with me but what he said was something I needed to hear. "It'll all work out. I promise. Till I see you again may you always find comfort in the Darkness."

I knew that was his way of saying that he would always watch over me. "And may you always find peace in the Fire Kouichi."

Walking out I sealed the room but had I known what was going to happen next I would have stayed. The last thing I remember was a voice saying "We are going to have so much fun together but maybe not for long."

Third Person POV with others

3 days. That was how long TK and Davis had been missing. Kari and the others searched everywhere to no avail. When TK's mother returned and found a note from TK saying that he had gone to talk to Davis. She went over and neither were there. She recognized Demiveemon as a Digimon and asked him where they went and the Digimon told her.

She called the parents of the other DigiDestined that were still in Japan and told them what it was that Demiveemon had told her. The others then passed the message along to the ones that weren't in the loop.

After three days the DigiDestined were having a meeting at Izzy's house about whether they should try and get in connect with Gennai. "It's been 3 days maybe we should call Gennai. Something might have happened to them." The Child of Courage said.

"Tai's right. Neither had their partner if they ran into trouble then they wouldn't be able to defend themselves." Matt said.

"Gennai also could have needed their help with something and they lost track of time." Yolei responded.

"No Gennai would have said something to one of us." Izzy answered back.

"I hate to say it but something has happened. Davis has been captured by the Dark Masters and TK is missing." Said a voice from the computer.

"Gennai."

"What do you mean TK's missing and Davis is captured." Joe said.

"Exactly like I said. The Dark Masters have returned and taken Davis. I have no idea if they have TK as well or if Davis managed to hide him before they got to them." the Digital Human told them.

"There has to be some way to help them." Kari said.

"I will send to the last know cordients of them to Izzy and will meet you there. Something has happened and I fear that whatever it is will only end in heartbreak and sorrow." With those parting words, Gennai logged off. The others turned to each other and nodded.

"Is no else going to comment on the fact that Gennai just said that the outcome is going to be depressing." Joe the worry-wort said.

"No are you backing out?" The Child of Friendship growled out. "Because TK's missing possibly in that evil clown's hands and we now know for a fact that Davis is and you're complaining."

"No, I'm just saying we should let our parents and families know. Someone should also tell Davis's parents. I also want to grab some medical supplies because we don't know what state Davis and possible TK are going to be in." The doctor in training said.

No one could fault him on that as he was correct. "Ok, I'll explain to his parents what is going on. Everyone else go get ready. We'll meet back here in one hour. Be ready for being gone for a few weeks at least. We have no idea what it is that it'll look like over there." Tai said.

" Hold on maybe I should go talk to them. Jun seems to like me. She might take it better from me." The team's lone wolf said.

"Yeah but you need to go talk to your mom about TK." Matt nodded knowing that there was no point in arguing something that made sense.

After the hour passed everyone met back up at Izzy's house. "Does everyone have at least 6 changes of clothes?" Tai asked. Everyone present nodded.

"I also brought things to repair them with." Sora responded.

"Joe, did you bring the medical supplies?"

"Yup. Gauze, bandages, cleaners, things for splints, braces, slings, and surgical thread and needles. There are also different pills: ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and different vitamins. I have no idea what shape Davis and TK are going to be in."

The others nodded because he was right. They had no idea what shape their captured friends would be in. "I brought a bunch of food from my family's store. When I told them how much the Digimon eat they packed me two big duffle bags full." Yolei said holding them up.

"I'll take one from you. It would make it hard for someone to take both or if we get separated." Friendship's Child said taking one of the bags.

"Alright ready to go?" Kari asked. Seeing everyone nodded she turned to the computer and said "Digiport open."

Going through they all felt that something was wrong with the portal but before they could really feel anything they all landed in a dog pile on the other side. Getting up from the pile they looked around. All around them for as far as the eye could see was dessert and half-buried ruins. "What is this place?" Ken said taking it all in.

"Fire Terminal. It was once a prosperous place before it was destroyed by Apocalymon. It is also the remains of my hometown."

Jumping they turned around to find Gennai standing there leaning against a wall.

"Jeez give us all a heart attack why don't ya," Joe said.

"So this is the place that Davis and TK disappeared. There certainly are many places where they could be ambushed." Ken remarked.

"Prodigious."

"What did you get a signal, Izzy?" Tai said looking over to where Izzy had sat on the ground.

"No far from that. In fact this place doesn't even appear on a map of the Digital world at all."

"It would be most likely because this place isn't connected to the Digital World you know. This makes the fact that The Dark Masters were able to get in here and kidnap at least Davis even more terrifying. I talked with the last of The Celestial Angels and I was told to take you to the resting place of Lobomon and see if it is possible for any of you to use his power."

"Question who's Lobomon?" Cody asked.

"Lobomon is the Warrior of Light. There are ten Warriors: Fire, Light, Ice, Wind, Thunder, Earth, Steel, Wood, Water, and Darkness. Before you ask the Warrior of Darkness was a very good friend of mine. He was rather shy but was one of the first to jump to defend a friend usually only beaten to it by the Warrior of Fire."

"But isn't darkness usually bad?" Kari asked.

"It can be Kari but so can light." Cody said.

Gennai smiled at the young boy who shot her down. "That's correct. Now please follow me and be careful the path down is steep and we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt."

Gennai lead the kids down to the path and down into the darkness of the tunnel till they reached an opening that was covered in fire. "Are you sure that this is the right way?" Tai asked.

"Positive. I have no idea why there is fire. The only thing I can guess is that AncientGreyMon was trying to protect something."

Reaching out to the fire to feel if there was anything behind Gennai pulled his hand back when a light purple symbol appeared in the fire. "What is that?" Sora asked.

"The symbol of the Warrior of Light. But what is it doing in a fire caused by the Warrior of Fire?"

"Maybe it's a key." The Child of Reliable Knowledge said.

"Yeah but a key to what." The Child of Kindness said.

Kari wasn't listening though she reached towards the symbol when it lights up in pink and purple light and the flames went down.

They barely had time to rejoice when a blood-red blade came right at their heads.

Fair warning after this one the others might be sporadic but I will try to aim for once a month.
