"Okay...not bad. I think we did pretty good." Yaoyorozu said as the heroes set up base inside of an old abandoned building.
"Well, at least it's suitable for training here in the Hero Universe. And getting the new guys up to our standards." Jexi said.
"Yeah, all it needs is a little touch up and it'll be like home." Al said. "Honestly it kinda feels like we'll be doing Luke Cage's job while we're here."
"Uh, I think you're forgetting that we did jobs like this back home too… Only they were committed by paranormal forces, not supervillains." David said.
"He's got a point. But other than a few attempted robberies and some muggings, the crimes have been pretty small since we took down Fisk." Kaminari said.
"Well, your workload may be increasing. The silent alarm in a museum just went off." Jeremie said.
"Well, that simply just won't do, will it?" Raine asked.
"No it won't. Let's move." Tokoyami said as a few of the heroes went off towards said museum.
"Okay, freeze right...what the?" Iida said as they saw a number of guys in black wearing strange demonic masks.
"Who are they? Yakuza? No…"
"(Heroes! But they aren't Spider Man!)" one of them said.
"(No matter. If they are in the way, take them down!)" another said.
"That's not Japanese they're speaking…" Yaoyorozu said. "I think they're Chinese."
"Well, guess I'm not the only one coming after hours." a voice said as Spider Man dropped in to fight alongside them. "Nice to see you guys again."
"Likewise." Izuku said as they battled against the men before one of them wore strange gauntlets that glowed.
"Whoa...are you guys like...ghosts? Never fought a ghost before." Setsuna asked.
"Stay on your toes guys, those weapons are producing a strange energy." Mari said over the comm.
"Yeah, we can see that." Eijiro said as one of them struck the ground, creating a crater of black and white energy.
"Okay...these guys are dead!" Bakugo said, attacking one with an explosion.
"Hey Kaibara, think Yanagi would fit in with these guys?" Kendo asked, taking one down with some slick martial arts.
"Don't know. I mean, her costume and quirk are ghost related, but she's not actually a real ghost." Kaibara said blocking a strike from one holding a sickle, then spinning his own arm for a disarm and taking the thug down.
"Actually, I don't think these guys are ghosts." Kendo said, inspecting their hands and weapons. "It's almost like they're radiating some kind of…. Negative energy."
"Negative energy?!" Thorani said in shock.
"Yeah. Not sure what it does but we definitely don't wanna be on the other side of it." Jiro said. "Okay...here goes. Heartbeat Fuzz!" she said creating a soundwave that forced the demons to drop their weapons. "Take them now!" she said as the heroes went and took them down.
"Hmm...looks like one got away...but left something behind." Iida said, picking up one of the masks. "What is this?"
"Maybe Angie or Raine knows about it? They are big into art and history." Ochako said.
"Good idea. We might have to take this back to them to inspect it." Sero said.
"Yeah...you bring it to your pals. Maybe they can share some…" Spider Man said as a few police vehicles that were heavily armored rolled past them. "Huh?"
"Hey, what's going on?" Kaminari asked on the comm.
"There's been a complication in the city. A robbery by one Herman Schultz aka Shocker." Miles said.
"Huh? Did I hear Schultz? I thought he was paroled." Spider Man said.
"Well guess it didn't take." Hagakure said.
"Shocker...if I remember right...he's a villain that attacks using shockwaves." Izuku said.
"Yeah, he uses gauntlets on his arms to project them and blast them. Fought him a couple times already." Spider Man said. "But no worries, he's just a big cupcake. I'll have him in Ryker's by bedtime. With you guys helping, maybe even in time for dinner."
They hurried down to the scene just in time to see Shocker jumping right out of a jewelry store.
"Hi Herman." Spider Man said.
"Seriously?" Shocker said as he started to flee using his shockwaves to keep ahead as they gave chase. "You babysitting now? Whatever, you're never gonna catch me."
"That's what you said last time." Spider Man said.
"I don't wanna hurt any of you...it'll just slow me down." Shocker said.
"Well...that's...considerate." Iida said.
"This is certainly strange." Lei said.
"What's the money for, Herman?" Spider Man asked.
"Why do you care?" Shocker asked.
"Actually, I don't. Just trying to make polite conversation…" Spider Man replied.
"I'm done talking." Shocker made his rebuttal and headed further away.
"But it'll be so much more rewarding if we connect on an emotional level. Oh wait, I forgot. You have no emotions." Spider Man said.
"I got him!" Sero said wrapping some tape around him. "Okay...so let's talk."
"I said, I'm DONE...TALKING!" Shocker said socking him before leaping away.
"Noted." Sero groaned.
"Guys, Cellophane's down. Get him back ASAP. We're going after Shocker." Izuku said.
The others continued to give chase.
"Why is he robbing after so long? If he's on parole, that means the police are watching his every move, right?" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah. I mean I know he's kinda dumb, but I didn't think he was this dumb." Spider Man replied. "He must be desperate. Which means he's not just stealing for himself. He must be working with someone."
"Or for someone." Todoroki said.
"Shocker, tell us who you're working with and we may go easy on you." Setsuna called out.
"I've said enough." Shocker said.
"Okay, then I'll just pin you down so you can go back to jail." Setsuna said.
"Whoa, not a good idea! His blasts may hurt you." Spider Man said. "I mean, you can split into multiple parts, but I think you can still feel pain in each of them, right?"
"Yeah but it's fine. I can regenerate the parts he destroys." Setsuna said. "Besides, we can't just let him escape so...here goes!" she said, firing off her hands as they grabbed Shocker's arms long enough for Spider Man to pin and web him down.
The police soon caught up and arrested the guy.
"Learn anything about his motive?" Yuri asked.
"Tried but he wouldn't talk." Spider Man said. "Plus, I think he hates me."
"You have that effect on a lot of people." Yuri said.
"But you like me right?" Spider Man asked.
"I tolerate you." Yuri said.
"Wow...nicest thing I ever heard." Spider Man said jumping off.
"Okay...now for our thing." Izuku said, looking at the mask as they returned to the base.
"Hmm...yes. This is a Chinese opera mask. But on the inside, there's a character marked in it. Translated...it means demon." Raine said.
"Demon? What could this mean? What were they after?" Omnimon asked.
"I talked with Spider Man. And he heard from this reporter at the Daily Bugle named Mary Jane that they were after information on something called "Devil's Breath"." Kendo said.
"Devil's Breath? Sounds like the name of a Bioweapon." Kazuichi said.
"Either way, whatever it was, Fisk was involved and it spooked him." Kendo said.
"Fisk doesn't strike me as the guy who gets scared that often." Todoroki said.
"I think that kind of emphasizes how dangerous this weapon is, doesn't it?" Kokichi asked.
"If it even is a weapon. But whatever it was, not sure we should even find out." Tails said.
"Yeah...and the way Shocker acted tonight. He was just paroled. Why ruin his chances by robbing again?" Ochako asked.
"Maybe it's like Shoto said, he may be working for someone but unwillingly." Lei said.
"But we have no idea since he refused to talk." Sunset said.
"So, we'll just have to figure out his accomplice ourselves." Tetsutetsu said.
"Yeah...we can get a head start tomorrow morning." Izuku said. "Just hope its nothing to do with what Fisk said."
