AN:
This chapter has a lot of descriptions and explanations in it, so please bear with me.
Also, keep in mind that there are many different versions of myths in Greek Mythology. I just found some information that suited the needs of this story and used it when writing. So just keep in mind that what I say maybe a combination of what I came up with and what I found doing research.
I also removed the parts in the first chapter that talked about Roman demigods and the gods' Roman forms, as I realized that Roman demigods didn't exist during the Gigantomachy.
I didn't really know what to do with Dionysus either, so for the purpose of this story, he became a god after Perseus but before the Gigantomachy. I know that some myths have him play a pivotal part in the war with the giants as a demigod, but I didn't know why in the hell there would be a giant bane for him, let alone two, if he wasn't a god yet. Damn. Greek Mythology is confusing.
Anyways, enjoy the chapter!
CHAPTER 2
A large, black portal opened up in front of him. He could see what looked like stars and galaxies in it. Perseus slowly stood up from his spot on the floor of the cage and waited. A second later, four figures stepped out of the portal.
The portal closed behind the four figures, and Percy could only stare in shock as four of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen stood in front of him. They were right up there with Artemis, Athena, and Zoe in terms of beauty.
The woman farthest to the left was Gaea. She still looked about the same as the last time Perseus saw her, but she seemed a lot happier and healthier now. If possible, it made her look even more alluring. She had the same pale skin that matched her green dress with vines and flowers perfectly. She still had a perfect, athletic figure with slim legs and a large, round, and firm bust. Her face was still very beautiful, with lush brown hair falling down over her shoulders. Her eyes were a bright and vibrant green, but they lacked the purple that was in them the last time Perseus saw her.
Who the other women were, Perseus did not know. The woman to the right of Gaea had tan skin and wore a white dress with gold and yellow highlights that looked as if it were glowing slightly. She had long golden blonde hair and light blue eyes. She had a perfect hourglass figure that you could also tell was athletic. She had a large bust, but not as large as Gaea's or the woman to the right of the one Perseus was looking at now.
The next woman had long, wavy, black hair and eyes that looked to hold the universe in them. She had a larger bust than Gaea, but the rest of her body was just as perfect and athletic as the other three girls. She had pale skin and wore a black dress with pictures of stars and galaxies on it.
Lastly, the woman all the way to the right had long, black hair, pale skin, and black eyes. She wore a pure black dress that seemed to draw the darkness to it. She had about the same size bust as the second woman, but she was, again, just as beautiful as the others.
All four of the women had small smiles on their pretty faces, adding to their attractiveness. While all four of the women were super attractive, and dare he say it, hot, Perseus still got in a defensive position considering what happened last time with Gaea.
The woman with the galaxies on her dress laughed softly at this. Perseus couldn't help but notice how melodic her laugh was.
"We are not here to harm you, Perseus. I am Chaos, creator of the universe and the first being." Percy looked shocked at this, but only relaxed a little. "You have already met my daughter Gaea, if I am correct. I would like to apologize on her behalf. She was not in her right mind when she had children with Tartarus and waged war against Olympus." Chaos explained softly.
"The purple glow?" Perseus asked with an eyebrow raised, starting to put some information together in his brain.
"Yes. It influenced Gaea, and a select few of the Olympians, as you seem to have already noticed. But we will talk about that later." Perseus motioned for her to continue. "While you have already met Gaea, Primordial Goddess of the Earth, let me introduce you to another one of my daughters and one of my granddaughters. The woman to my left is my daughter Nyx, Primordial Goddess of Night. The one to my right is my granddaughter, Hemera, Primordial Goddess of Day."
Percy bowed to the three Primordials and the Creator in a show of respect before asking, "Milady, if I may ask, what are you doing here?"
"We are here to help you, of course!" Nyx replied with a grin.
"You're going to break me out of this prison?"
Chaos frowned. "No, sadly, we cannot do that. Another daughter of mine, Ananke, has prohibited me from helping you escape or messing with the purple glow we touched on earlier, lest we destroy the concept of fate and destiny itself. Like you swore on the Styx, you will break out and return when the time is right. For now, though, we are here to make sure you don't die of boredom or loneliness." She said with a playful smile at the end.
Percy smiled a little at that. While he was still upset that he couldn't see Artemis, Athena, Zoe, and everybody else until the 'time was right', which was who knows how long away, he was grateful that he wouldn't be completely alone.
The four beautiful and powerful beings visited him almost every day, or what he assumed was every day. He couldn't really tell the time down there very well, considering he was surrounded by pure darkness.
They told him about many things, including the creation of the universe, what it was like to be a Primordial, the other Primordials, and other stuff about them in general.
Flashback
In the very beginning, there was nothing. Only the Void; only the unknown.
A period of 'time' later, Chaos came to be, and with it, creation. Chaos had the ability to think for itself, and as 'time' was irrelevant and a foreign concept at that point, Chaos ended up choosing to be what came to be known as 'female'.
She formed two children of her own that represented concepts essential for creation to take place and life to be possible. Chronos, Primordial of Time, and Ananke, Primordial of Fate, Destiny, and Compulsion were formed into existence.
After this, Chaos started on her task of creation. She first formed stars, then some black holes. While her later creations did have beings to personify them, these early ones did not. Unless you count Chaos herself.
After this, Chaos decided to form some planets to orbit around the stars and to hold life. She started by creating the bodies of these planets, and a personification of them called Gaea, who chose the form of a woman, like her mother. Next, she created an atmosphere, sky, and heaven that rested above Gaea and was personified as Ouranos, who chose to be a male. Chaos then created the pit, which lies below Gaea, and was personified as Tartarus, who also chose to be male.
After Chaos created the Protogeni that represented areas and spaces, she decided that there just needed to be more. So she created Nyx, Erebus, Eros. Erebus was made as the personification of darkness and chose the form of a man. Nyx, since everything was currently covered in darkness, was the embodiment of night and chose to be female. After a while, she figured out a way to use the energy and light from the stars that Chaos had created to shine on a large rock just outside of Ouranos' control, creating the moon. Eros was created by Chaos as a way for the life that she would eventually make to carry on for a very long time. He represented procreation.
While Chaos created six children that each added something to the universe she created, she still felt some things were missing before she could add life. However, instead of creating more children, she let her sons and daughters decide what more was needed.
Her daughter Nyx and son Erebus created some children. However, instead of being married like most seemed to believe, Nyx and Erebus were just very close as siblings. This is the case with most Primordials that were believed to be married. They did not ever have children using Eros' domain of procreation. Instead, they used their sibling love to form children, similar to how Chaos did them.
Hemera and Aether were both born this way. Aether was born as the embodiment of the 'upper air', which is the air that the gods breathe as opposed to the air that the mortals would breathe when created. Hemera was made as the personification of day. She, similar to how Nyx created the moon, used the energy and light of stars to create the concept of day, which would occur as the planet spins. Day and night would both be split across the planet, and, using the concept of time from Chronos, were set to occur at different points during a set period before repeating.
Later, Hemera and Aether would create a child similar to how Nyx and Erebus created them. Thalassa was created as a counterpart of Pontus, who both shared the embodiment of the sea and created oceans on the planet. They would also be married. Pontus was a child of Gaea, created with no father, with the help of Chaos. Along with Chaos, Gaea created Ourea, who was the personification of the mountains that rested on the planet.
Similar to how Gaea created her two children by herself with the help of Chaos, Nyx created Akhlys. Akhlys symbolized the mist of death and was the personification of poison, sadness, and misery.
Chronos and Ananke also had children, but were actually married and utilized Eros' domain. The Moirai, or the Fates, were born as the incarnations of destiny, but were not true Primordials.
After Chaos believed that there was enough in the universe to successfully support life, she created humankind in her and her children's images. She didn't give them much of anything when she created them, instead choosing to allow them to grow and develop on their own without the influence of the Primordials directly. For the most part. In some very, very rare cases, a Primordial has had to intervene in the affairs of man, which is how they became known and worshipped in some places. However, as much as the Primordials themselves rarely came into contact with humans, their domains were essential to human life and interacted with them at all times.
After creating life, Chaos made a throne room and home for the Primordials in the very center of the universe, which happened to be right above Earth. The throne room was similar to that of the one that would be made on Olympus, but it was much bigger and even more breathtaking. The throne room had 14 large thrones in it, as Akhlys and the Fates were not true Primordials, with 13 of the thrones each representing one Primordial and one throne representing Chaos. This is where the Primordials would meet to discuss what was happening in the universe and make sure that their domains on each world were normal.
They were similar to the future Olympian Council in some ways, but they actually acted as a family and didn't squabble over useless things. The Primordial Council watched everything and everyone, not really interfering. They saw no need as they wanted to witness and watch their descendants rule their pantheons and worlds. They would only step in if it was completely and absolutely necessary, which has never happened before. And it will hopefully never happen in the future.
Flashback End
In return for telling him about the Primordials, Percy told them about his life as a god. What it was like growing up, how he became the 12th Olympian, his domains and what they entailed, his adventures as a god, and what led to his imprisonment.
Flashback
A young boy was running around the city of Atlantis, no older than eleven. This boy had jet black hair and sea-green eyes, an almost exact copy of his father.
The little boy was laughing as he ran past couples walking and people talking. Contrary to popular belief, the citizens of Atlantis did not have tails or anything. They had two legs just like every other human; they were just able to walk and breathe underwater as if they were on land.
After a few more minutes of running around, the boy was finally stopped by an amused humanoid dolphin.
"Perseus, your father requests your presence." The dolphin-man said.
The boy, Perseus, sighed then said, "Alright Delphin, I'll be there in a minute."
Delphin nodded, then walked off, leaving Perseus to walk to his father's palace.
When he was at the entrance to the palace, he took another moment to admire it. It was primarily made up of aqua bricks and marble, with images and details ingrained with Olympian Silver. The palace rivaled the Olympian throne room with its beauty and grandeur.
Percy walked inside and to the throne room, where his mother and father both sat.
Lady Amphitrite was a beautiful woman with flowing black hair and mocha-brown eyes. She was one of the 50 Nereids, daughters of Nereus and Doris. She radiated a gentle kindness that is rare among goddesses and wore a small smile on her face as she looked at her son.
Lord Poseidon looked a lot like his son. He had jet black hair and bright sea-green eyes. He was one of the Big Three, sons of the Titan Lord Kronos. He was on the Olympian Council, one of the most powerful gods alive, and the God of the Sea, Horses, and Earthquakes. He was also the King of Atlantis. He grinned at his son as Perseus walked in.
"Hi mom, dad. Why did you call me here?" Perseus asked.
"It is time to learn your domains, Percy. We need to head to Olympus, as all godly children of the Olympians must do when they receive their full list of domains and power." Poseidon said as he stood up from his throne and walked towards Percy. Amphitrite followed suit, and they both placed a hand on each of Percy's shoulders. Percy nodded, and they flashed to the Olympian throne room.
Now, Percy was very well informed on all the gods and Greek history in general. He was taught about the Titans and the Titanomachy, a war that happened very recently. He was taught about all of the Olympians, even the relatively new ones. Heck, he had even been visited by Hestia multiple times.
While Percy was very well versed on all the gods, he was not prepared to see all 12 Olympians in the same place at one time. The gods were all in their godly heights and sitting on their thrones, looking at him, intrigued. Artemis and Athena specifically were looking at him with interest.
He mentally observed each of the gods in awe. He started from the far left and went to the far right.
On the far left was Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, Moon, and Virginity. She was, like every other goddess seemed to be, beautiful. But to Perseus, she was even more good-looking than the other goddesses, save for Athena. She was in the form of a young woman in her early twenties. She had glowing silver eyes that seemed to shine bright with moonlight, and she had auburn hair. She wore her silver Hunter gear, with her hunting knives visible on her sides. Artemis' throne was just as nice-looking as she was, being primarily made of Olympian Silver that seemed to glow with moonlight, with some Stygian Iron highlighting various inscriptions of her domains and the deer and bow that were carved into her backrest.
Next to her was Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, War, and Handicraft. She, like Artemis, had a beauty above the other goddesses. She had long, black hair and calculating blue-grey eyes. She also took the form of a woman in her early twenties and wore a white dress. Her throne was also primarily made up of Olympian Silver, but also had some Imperial Gold and Celestial Bronze to highlight the carvings of her various domains, including a picture of an owl and books on the backrest.
To the right of Athena (from Perseus' point of view) sat Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. While she did hold up to her title as the Goddess of Beauty, Perseus just didn't find her as attractive as Artemis or Athena. She had blue eyes and blonde hair and wore a pink dress. To a mortal, her features would change to what they found the most appealing. To Perseus however, since he was a god, he just saw her as her normal self. Aphrodite's throne was made up of rose gold with Imperial Gold and mortal diamond accents. She had a picture of a dove and a heart on her backrest.
Next to Aphrodite sat Demeter, Goddess of Harvest, Grain, and Fertility. She too was beautiful, with flowing gold-blonde hair and bright green eyes. She wore a bright green dress with gold highlights and looked to be about 30 years old. She sat on an Imperial Gold throne with images highlighted with peridot gems and Olympian Silver. There was a picture of a cornucopia and wheat on her backrest.
The next throne was Hestia's. She looked very good in her orange dress with pictures of flames on it. She had warm orange eyes and wavy brown hair. Her throne was made out of special Olympian Wood and had images of fires and houses on it. For a throne, it had a very homely look to it. On the backrest of her throne was a picture of the hearth and its fire.
After Hestia was Hera, Queen of the Gods and the Goddess of Marriage and Family. She looked beautiful in her white dress with golden accents. She had long black hair and warm brown eyes. Very similar to her dress, Hera's throne was primarily marble with gold highlights and edges, with a large peacock on the backrest. She also had pictures of wedding rings and peacock feathers all over her throne.
The throne next to Hera held Zeus, King of the Gods and God of the Sky and Thunder. He had shoulder length black hair and a neatly trimmed grey and black beard. He had electric blue eyes and had a very serious face. His throne was made up of black marble with lots of Imperial Gold. He had lightning bolts and clouds pictured all over it, with a stand for the Master Bolt built into the armrest. He also had a picture of an eagle on his backrest.
Poseidon, the King of Atlantis and God of the Sea, Horses, and Earthquakes was next. He, of course, wasn't sitting on his throne, as he was escorting Perseus into the room. He had short black hair, a neatly trimmed beard, and sea-green eyes, almost exactly like Perseus'. His throne was the same as the one in Atlantis. It was made up of blue marble and Olympian Silver, with aquamarine gemstones scattered over it. On it were images of waves, sea life, and horses. The armrest had a place to hold his trident, and there were two similar tridents crossed over the back of the throne. On the backrest of his throne was a picture of the sea and a trident. He liked his tridents.
Next to Poseidon sat Hephaestus, the God of Fire and Blacksmithing. He was by far the ugliest Olympian, with a disfigured face and dark brown eyes. He had brown hair with what seemed to be sparks in it and an untamed beard. His throne was made up of black marble with orange lines running all across it. There were images of forges and fire, with a flaming hammer carved into the back of his backrest, all ingrained with Celestial Bronze.
To the right of Hephaestus was Ares. Ares was a mean and muscular looking man, with literal fire seeming to burn in his eyes. He had short black hair and wore a black leather biker jacket. His throne was made of black marble with Celestial Bronze engravings all over it. A large serpent and a sword were carved into the backrest.
After Ares was Apollo. Apollo had blonde hair and blue eyes. He sat on a pure Imperial Gold throne with carvings of his domains all over it. He had a bow and music notes carved into his backrest.
Lastly, was Hermes. He had dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, looking similar to Apollo. He sat on a throne of marble, with images of his domains carved all over it. On the backrest of his throne was a picture of his caduceus and a helmet with wings.
A slight push on his back snapped Perseus back to attention.
Poseidon walked Percy over to the center of the room and next to the hearth, where he sent a small smile to Hestia, who was sitting on her throne as she returned it. Percy could vaguely tell that the shadows in one corner of the room seemed to gather irregularly, which was a little odd. After getting Percy to the middle of the throne room, Poseidon walked Amphitrite over so that she was next to his throne, before taking a seat. That is when Zeus started talking.
"We have gathered here today to witness the first child of Poseidon and his wife gain his power and knowledge of his domains. Fates, we call upon you to tell us the domains of Perseus, son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, and give him his godly power!" He boomed.
As soon as he was finished, there were three bright flashes of light in front of Perseus. Three figures floated in front of Perseus and turned towards Zeus.
"You will listen to what we say next, Zeus, or you shall face the consequences. Fate has ordained this. Do not interfere with it." The middle Fate, Atropos, said dangerously to the King of the Gods, who just nodded.
The Fates turned back to Perseus and snapped their fingers. Perseus glowed with a bright mixture of sea green and black, so much so that nobody could see him. When the glow faded, Perseus looked more like someone in their mid-twenties and was well built and handsome. Both Athena and Artemis blushed slightly as they saw him. They could also both feel a connection to him, something that confused them both greatly. They snapped back to reality when the Fates started talking again.
"All hail Lord Perseus, God of Heroes, Tides, Darkness, Night, and Battle Strategy! All hail the 12th Olympian! May your sacred animal, the wolf, guide you." All three Fates said at once.
The Fates then flashed out, leaving a shocked and confused Olympian Council.
"What do they mean by 'the 12th Olympian'?" asked Athena. "We already have 12 members on the Council."
Many of the other gods in the room nodded in agreement, sharing Athena's exact question.
Hestia, however, spoke up. "I believe that I know." Everyone in the throne room looked at her expectantly. "I think that the Fates want one of us to give up our throne for Perseus." All the gods looked shocked, and some were outraged. "Which is why I wish to give up my throne for Perseus." Hestia continued. "I know that most of you wouldn't even think about it, and I know Perseus personally. I know he has the ability to be a very important member of this Council."
Zeus looked around the room and saw no signs of disagreement from the others. "Very well, sister. I, Zeus, God of the Sky and Thunder, remove Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth from the Olympian Council so that Perseus, God of Heroes, Tides, Darkness, Night, and Battle Strategy may take her place."
The throne room shook as Hestia's throne descended into the ground and Perseus' throne appeared next to Hermes. The thrones automatically situated themselves so that the space where Hestia's throne was was filled. Perseus was still shocked about what had just taken place. He had received the power and knowledge of all of his domains, things that he was destined to have since he was born. When he saw his throne, he was instantly in awe of its beauty and sheer badass-ness. It looked really freaking cool.
Perseus slowly walked over to his throne, as Hestia walked over to the Hearth in the center of the room. Perseus stopped Hestia on her way to the hearth and gave her a big hug, one which she happily returned. After breaking away, Hestia went to the hearth, and Perseus stepped up to his throne. When he took a seat in it, he felt a large rush of power and connection to his domains. He could hear a wolf howling in the back of his mind, and as strange as it may sound, it calmed him immensely.
He looked around the throne room to gauge everyone's reactions. Poseidon and Amphitrite had looks of immense pride on their faces, while most everyone else but Zeus and Ares just looked intrigued. Zeus had a sour look on his face while Ares had a grin, thinking that he just got a new immortal punching bag. He saw that Artemis and Athena were looking at him intently, with intrigue. He felt his face heat up slightly as the two gorgeous women looked at him. He understood, though. He was the God of Night and Battle Strategy, domains that are directly connected with the moon and war and wisdom. He smiled shyly and was very, very surprised when the two sworn maidens', one of which was the ultimate man-hater, faces turned slightly golden.
This would certainly be interesting.
Flashback End
He actually enjoyed his time with the four powerful deities, but he still missed his three girls, even if they would castrate him for calling them that.
All he wanted to do was break out of his cage and prove his innocence. But he couldn't. Not with how strong the cage was. All he could do was wait.
AN:
Next chapter will take us into the events of the POJ books, so it should be interesting.
Also, making Percy be in a relationship with seven girls may not have been my smartest idea for a first story, but I will stick with it and try my best.
See you next time!
