Chapter 2- Billy

New York

Matt was getting ready, putting on his suit as he stroked it a little while Faith watched. "So, how long are you gonna be gone exactly?"

"Probably two days at best", Matt told her. "But you know, been a while since I've visited them."

"I get it, my probation is gonna be over by the time you're back", Faith reminded.

"Yeah, and can't have anything risking it last minute", Matt pointed as she chuckled, and there was a knock at the door at that very moment as Matt walked to the door, opening it to reveal Foggy.

"Your buddy Foggy to the rescue", Foggy said, raising his arms to either side as Matt shook his head with a smirk and the two hugged.

"Thanks for coming, Foggy", Matt said genuinely.

"Don't worry man, you want me to watch your girlfriend, I will", Foggy said as Matt groaned.

"She's not my girlfriend", Matt said.

"Really?" Foggy asked with a smirk. "Because I've seen-"

"If you say you've seen the glances we throw at each other, you're taking me for an idiot", Matt said with a chuckle.

"Well, you've always been an idiot when it comes to love", Foggy pointed out as Matt sighed, realizing there was no way he could win this while Faith walked out.

"So, I guess see you later", she said to Matt.

"Yeah", Matt said as the two shared a hug with a smile, and they parted as Faith waved to Foggy.

"Hey Nelson, you here to spend the night with me?" Faith asked as there were some chuckles.

"I would, if I wasn't in a relationship", he quipped as Matt sighed.

"Children, I live with children", he muttered as he walked out. "Bye guys."

"Bye", Faith said as she and Foggy waved back, and then Faith's smile turned into a bit of a wince.

A day later, Los Angeles, Hyperion Hotel

"All of us for dinner? Really?" Cordelia asked Wesley incredulously.

"Uhh, well, yes", Wesley nodded, clearly uncomfortable, as he glanced at Fred for a second before looking back at Cordelia and Angel. "It would be a good bonding experience for the team. What do you think, Angel?"

"Sure", Angel shrugged casually.

"I wouldn't mind", Gunn told him.

"I think I forgot my sword in the basement", Cordelia told them. "Just coming."

She then opened the door and let out a short scream, startling the rest as she then smiled and hugged Matt, who smiled and hugged her back. "So good to see you, Matt."

"Good to, uhh, hear you", he said as she chuckled and led him to the lobby by hand.

"Look who snuck into our place", she quipped as the team burst into smiles.

"Matt", Angel greeted as they hugged. "Your arm's good too now."

"Yeah, even went out as Daredevil two nights ago", Matt revealed to him.

"Nice, how's Faith?" Angel asked.

"Doing great, probation is almost over, so I had Foggy watch over her to not mess it up", Matt told him. "Don't want it to get messed up at last minute, do we?"

"If it does, I'll kick your ass", Angel said as the two chuckled again.

"Would love for you to try", Matt said as Wesley hugged Matt.

"Matthew", he greeted.

"Wesley", Matt greeted back as they shook hands too.

"Hey man", Gunn said, holding out his fist as Matt fist-bumped him as Fred just waved with a smile.

"Hello", she said.

"Hi Fred", Matt waved back as he turned to Angel, Cordelia and Wesley. "How is the team now?"

"I think we are doing good, some hiccups aside", Wesley said.

"Those are part of the job", Angel shrugged.

"Yeah", Matt nodded.

"Oh, wait!" Cordelia suddenly said. "Wesley invited us all to dinner."

"Yes, I invited them all, all of them", Wesley said nervously as Matt felt his heart beat a little faster and some heat came off him too since he was blushing. "Each and every one of them."

"So, anyway, you wanna come?" Cordelia offered.

"I would love to, but while I did come to visit you guys, there is one more person I have to visit", Matt told them. "Sorry."

"No problem, do what you gotta do", Cordelia assured with a smile as he nodded.

"So, is it official work or something?" Angel asked.

"You could say that", Matt told him as tapped Angel's shoulder and walked off. "Nice to meet you again, I'll drop by once more before leaving."

"You're welcome anytime", Angel said as Matt walked out.

Later

Matt knocked at the door, and he could hear her footsteps, though they were uneven, and he could smell dried up blood and salt too, plus mascara.

What had happened to her?

The door opened as Lilah Morgan looked him up and down, letting him come in. "Oh, it's you! Want to boink or something? Because I'm not in the mood right now and it will end with you castrated."

"Are you hurt?" Matt asked in concern.

"What? You can see now?" Lilah sneered.

"No, but your speech is a little slurred, and I can smell some dried blood, and tears, you know, good nose", Matt shrugged to her.

"So, came here to give your condolences then?" Lilah asked. "Don't need 'em, done without 'em for a long time."

"I didn't know you were hurt till I came here", Matt told her. "Who did this?"

"What does it matter? Can't do a thing about it", Lilah shrugged. "Besides, it was a work problem, you know, with overlapping cases and all that."

"The Lilah I know would do a lot of things about it", Matt said as Lilah scoffed. "And I know it wasn't just a problem with overlapping cases."

Lilah rebuked him. "You never loved me, not like you loved that Natchios girl. I was just the rebound."

But Matt walked up to her and cups her cheek gently, and asked softly, "Is that really what you believed? That I never cared?"

Matt then dropped his hand and backed away. "I'm not the one who left and sold their soul."

Lilah looked down, sat, and continued to drink her pain away, while Matt unfolded his cane and walks to the door, but stopped. "I also wanted to thank you, for what you did after the Snap. I needed it. That's why I came."

He let her mull over his words before saying. "Hope you get better soon, Lilah."

But then, before he opened the door, Lilah quipped. "You should see the other guy."

And Matt chuckled. "I can't."

Lilah let out a brief snort and smiled as Matt said. "Well, whoever the other guy was, I'm sure he'd love to meet the real Lilah. Congratulations on the promotion by the way."

"Thanks but no thanks", Lilah shrugged, drinking a little more.

The two chuckled as Matt said. "Take care."

Then he walked out and closed the door behind him. And during that time, he held up the business card he'd swiped from Lilah while cupping her cheek with determination on his face.

Later, Wolfram and Hart

Matt walked into the building, the business card managing to get him inside. He had left his cane and glasses in the hotel he was staying at for the time being, so that people here wouldn't figure out he was blind, as that might give him away.

As usual, the place was bustling with workers all over, and most of them were up to no good, as usual, and he knew it.

He didn't need to ask anyone where Lilah's office was, her promotion had been on the news, and so he knew she'd have gotten Lindsey's old office, which he had visited long ago during the Donald Sullivan case with Foggy.

He walked into the elevator, pressing the buttons as it took him really high. As much as he hated what Lilah had now become, he had heard that she'd joined so they'd provide medical care to her sick mother, and she did want a stable life.

Didn't justify her skewed moral compass though.

Either way, he owed her this much after what she'd done for him, even if it was for her own reasons. The elevator opened as he walked to Lilah's office, when someone called out to him. "Where're you going?"

"To Miss Morgan's office", Matt told the guy. His speech seemed a little slurred too, and it seemed like he'd been scratched in the face by fingernails, and had bandages over his head.

"Ah, Lilah, yeah, she got beaten up in that office real bad", the man said, sounding boastful, and Matt realized he was the one who had beaten her up, especially since he had wounds too, and he wanted to just deck him, but he knew it wasn't wise. "So, she sent you?"

"Yeah", Matt said with gritted teeth.

"All right then", the man said, walking off, as he muttered to himself happily. "Bitch got what she deserved, even if I wasn't in control. She'll get hers for the fingernails too."

Not in control? What?

Did someone mind control him into beating her up? But why?

Either way, he did seem to like having done it, even if he wasn't in control, so Matt didn't have much sympathy for him. And he got the beating he deserved from Lilah too.

He walked into her office, knowing it might be something related to her cases, and opening drawers, looked for files.

He ran his hands through them all, trying to find something, before finding one interesting file about a 'William Blim'.

He had heard of the Blim family, they were quite powerful and wealthy. Matt ran his fingers through the files and his blood ran cold as he read through it.

Apparently, the guy had powers to somehow induce misogyny in men, and those men beat down women, even to death, for no reason at all. And he'd been in some Hell Dimension till now until some desperate measures had been used to get him out, but the file was pretty blank on the details.

The man Matt had just met had said he wasn't in control when he'd beaten down Lilah, so Billy clearly had been involved in this, and if the guy had no reason to do what he did, then that made him all the more dangerous.

Pocketing the files, he walked out of the room, and soon left the building.

Later

Matt put on his black mask and leapt to the top of the gate easily, dropping down to the other side to the Blim estate as he walked further in, hearing Billy talking on phone to someone. "Yeah, and I'll be showing up to your place soon, cuz, just wait."

Billy then lowered the phone and turned directly to Matt with a smirk as he picked up a metal patio chair and shattered the glass doors with them. Billy put his phone down as Matt walked in. "You hurt someone I know."

"I didn't hurt anyone, I just like to watch", Billy said in a smug innocent tone.

"Not much of a difference, considering the ones you watch do the job are your tools", Matt growled at him as Billy walked to him but Matt leapt into the air and with a flip, kicked his face, sending him crashing into a table as it shattered while Matt landed in a crouch, straightening up when he heard familiar footsteps as Angel arrived next to him.

"What are you doing here?" Angel asked in surprise.

"What are you doing here?" Matt asked back in surprise, also hearing Wesley's and Gunn's heartbeats outside the gate now.

"I came in here without an invitation", Angel realized as he turned to Billy. "You're not quite human, are you, Billy?"

"No, he's half-Demon", Matt revealed as Billy smirked.

"Still more human than you", Billy said to Angel.

Angel sneered. "You like to hurt women, Billy? That make you feel like a man?"

"His father sure did", Matt said in disgust while growling. "He hurt his mom, a peaceful Demon, that's how he came to be, and that's how he has these powers."

"This is so messed up", Angel said in horror.

"It would be, but you know women", Billy said, the two getting angrier by his misogyny. "They deserve it."

"It's time to give you what you deserve", Angel snarled. "You're going back."

"To that Hell Dimension, right?" Matt asked and Angel nodded before Matt heard something. "I think we should get out."

"Why?" Angel asked as two cops pulled arrived, one male and one female, and both pulled out guns.

"Because of that", Matt said.

"Los Angeles Police Department", the female cop called out.

"Hands were we can see 'em. Turn around. - Slowly!"

Matt and Angel raised their hands and turned to face the shattered doors. Billy stepped up beside them before they could speak. "You're looking for me."

"William Blim?"

"That's right. I'm the one that called you. Did you find the body? Was it where I said it would be?"

"William Blim we're taking you into custody for questioning", the woman said.

Billy smiled. "Oh, yes", he turned to look at Matt and Angel. "I should think you would."

"Sanchez, be sure you read him his rights."

Sanchez pulled out a pair of cuffs and walked up to Billy. Billy put one hand on Sanchez's wrist. "Will those be absolutely necessary? I won't give you any trouble, officer. I'll come quietly."

Sanchez turned back to look at the woman detective. She nodded.

Billy took his hand off Sanchez's bare wrist as Matt felt the heat there rise slightly and realized what he'd done.

"Uhhh, Billy needs a lawyer", Matt spoke up, trying to stall them anyway he could.

"He will once we take him to the station", the female cop said. "Send the lawyer there. Who are you two anyway?"

"They're nobody", Billy said as Sanchez led him away, reading his rights with the woman cop.

"How do you know about this case?" Angel finally asked Matt.

"Snuck into Wolfram and Hart, got some files", Matt told him.

"Why exactly?" Angel asked as they walked out.

"I went to visit Lilah to thank her for giving me some cases in the 7 months after the Snap, found out she was beaten, all I got from her was it was work-related, so I snuck in there and found out about Billy", Matt informed as he took his mask off and Angel nodded.

"Lilah", he said with a scoff and growl, and Matt noted there was something about it.

They reached the gate and both leapt over it together to the other side, Wesley and Gunn shocked to see Matt.

"You a magician too now? You came out of there?" Gunn asked.

"No, he was already there, he was working on the same case as us", Angel said.

"You found anything of use?" Wesley asked as they started walking away.

"Nothing you don't already know", Matt said with a sigh.

Later, Hyperion Hotel

Matt walked in with Angel, Wesley and Gunn, as Wesley went to talk on the phone while Cordelia asked in shock. "What are you doing here?"

"Working on the same case as you people", Matt shrugged.

"Ran into him at Billy's place", Angel told her.

Wesley hung up the phone. "My contact at the city morgue confirms it. Her body was discovered earlier tonight. A young woman was reported missing three days ago. Someone phoned in a tip."

"Billy", Angel said without hesitation.

Gunn sat down. "It doesn't make sense. I mean, even if he did it, he didn't do it, you know what I'm saying? So why confess? What does he get?"

Angel, looked up, figuring out Billy's next move. "Out. It gets him out."

Gunn nodded but pointed out. "Yeah, out of his palatial twelve million Dollar compound and into a holding cell at Men's central."

Wesley wondered if that was the plan. "Yes, but for how long?"

Cordelia shook her head. "Well, an impenetrable cube of hell fire in a heavily guarded demon dimension couldn't do much, so my guess - regular bars? Not really going to be a problem."

Angel groaned. "She's right. All he'll need to get out this time is his lawyer."

"I don't think he'll be there", Matt said as they turned to him in shock. "I tried to stop the cops with the excuse of a lawyer, because he'd touched the male one, I felt the heat in his hand rise."

"Son of a bitch", Angel growled in realization as they exchanged looks.

"He could still be there though", Wesley pointed out.

"He's not there!" Fred ran in frantically as everyone turned to look at her. "I just heard it on the police scanner. The patrol car carrying Billy never made it to the police station. There's been an accident. 252nd street."

Angel walked to the door. "Come on, let's go."

Matt thought about it. If dispatch was called, an ambulance would be there, so Billy wouldn't be around.

"Yes, let us go, Gunn", Wesley said as he walked out with Gunn.

"You coming, Matt?" Gunn asked.

"No, I'll stay, there is something I need to do", Matt told them as they nodded and walked out while he sat down on the table.

"Fred, where did the accident happen again?" Matt asked.

"252nd street", she told him as she walked off.

Matt took out the files as Cordelia's eyes widened. "You got them from-"

"Yes, I did", Matt said, running his fingers over them. "He has a cousin who lives about 5 blocks from the crash site, he's probably on his way there."

He got up, ready to walk off as Cordelia called out. "Wait, I'm coming too."

She armed herself with a tazer and crossbow as Matt asked. "Why do you think I'm letting you come with me?"

"I'm gonna look for him with or without you anyway, and it's my fault he's out anyway", Cordelia revealed, shocking Matt.

"What?" Matt asked. "How exactly? Wolfram and Hart got him out of that Hell Dimension using some desperate measures, don't know what exactly."

"The desperate measures were torturing me by hijacking my line to the PTB to send me painful visions that also physically hurt me", Cordelia revealed, horrifying Matt. "So Angel got him out to save me."

"And here I was feeling sympathy for Lilah", Matt snarled, realizing she would have been behind it since the files were in her place.

He turned to Cordelia. "Look, it's not yours or Angel's fault. Lilah tortured you to blackmail him, it's her fault."

"Yeah, but I was tortured because of him, and you know what they say about karma? Well, I'm the bitch", Cordelia snarled as Matt had to chuckle at that.

So walking outside, he said. "Come on."

She was a little surprised. "You knew you couldn't talk me out, could you?"

"Of course not. I'm just thankful I never have to fight you in court, probably the one case I'll never win", Matt said.

Cordelia laughed but was sincere when thanking him. "You'll always be my lawyer, Matt."

She kissed him on the cheek and he kissed back before they walked out together. "First the place where I'm staying to get my suit."

Later

Matt knocked on the door as Dylan Blim opened it as far as the safety chain let him. "Who are you people?"

"We're looking for your cousin", Cordelia said as he opened the door and the two walked in, the music playing at a reasonable volume in the party.

Dylan sighed as Matt asked. "He was here, wasn't he?"

"Why are you looking for him anyway?" Dylan asked.

"To kill him", Cordelia sneered as Matt turned to her in shock.

Dylan smiled at that as he said as Matt noted there was no blood or carnage in this party here, and he didn't have his cane and glasses still, so he didn't need to act blind.

"Why is there no mess here?" He asked. "Billy was here, right?"

Dylan explained to him. "You gotta know the rules around Billy. Everyone in the family knows the rules. You never leave him alone with your girlfriend, keep him away from your pets and don't ever let him touch you. Like, if he wants money you gotta leave it on the table and back away."

Cordelia realized what Billy planned to do if he wanted money. "He's going to bolt."

Matt asked. "Where do you think he wants to go?"

Unlike most others in the family, Dylan was a decent guy and hated Billy, and had only given him the money to get rid of him. If these two were going to kill him, fine by him. "Santa Monica. My family has a plane there. Billy said he wanted to fly some place. I don't know where. Vancouver, Tahiti, he didn't say. Hopefully far away."

Matt nodded. "Thank you." He turned and started walking out. "Come on."

"Thanks for the help and", Cordelia said as Dylan looked at her, "A melodramatic named Angel will show up here after me, please slow him down for me, will ya?"

Dylan just nodded with a sigh as she walked out after Matt, hoping he would never have to see Billy again after this.

Later

An airplane was slowly taxiing down the dark runway. Cordelia came out from behind the nose of a private plane and walked up to where Billy is standing on the tarmac with his back towards her.

"Billy?"

Billy turned. "Yes? - Do I know you?"

Cordelia looked at him. "Not exactly. I thought we should meet. I'm the woman Wolfram and Hart tortured to get you out of your fire cell."

Billy laughed a little. "Oh, I see. - And you're here to whine. Poor, helpless, battered woman who needs to vent her feelings about the injustice of it all."

Cordelia didn't even flinch. "No, ass-wipe."

Cordy pushed the tazer up against Billy's stomach and he collapsed gasping to the ground. He looked up to see Cordelia aiming a crossbow at him. "I'm here to send you back."

Billy slowly picked himself back up, never taking his eyes off her. "You think I hate you because you're a woman. I don't."

Cordelia kept her eye on him. "Gee, and I was feeling special."

Billy smirked. "I don't hate women. I mean, sure, you're all whores who sell yourselves for money and prestige, but men are just as bad. Maybe even worse. They're willing to throw away careers or families, or even lives for what's under your skirt!"

Cordelia countered. "I'm wearing pants."

Billy smirked again. "So, you can dress like a man, talk like a man? (Smiles) Does that make you feel superior?"

Cordelia had the crossbow steadily aimed. "Actually, I'm feeling superior because I have an arrow pointed at your jugular. - And the irony of using a phallic shaped weapon? Not lost on me."

Billy shook his head. "You don't have the nerve to do it."

Cordelia took a step closer, so the tip of the arrow was almost up against Billy's throat. "Wrong again."

But then the crossbow was pushed away as Matt, now having finished suiting up into his Demon-slayer Daredevil suit, stepped in the way.

"Don't do this, Cordy, please", Matt begged her as he turned to her.

"Look, you know what he is, he can't hurt me", Cordelia pointed out to him as Billy suddenly took a hold of Matt's face with both his hands, staring into his blind eyes (not that he knew Matt was blind).

"No, I won't hurt her, I won't hurt her at all", Billy boasted.

Matt pushed Billy away, feeling the heat in his body rise as he took a few quick breaths, growling.

He now inched back towards Cordelia, shaking in rage. "Get out of here."

"No, I won't", Cordelia said.

"GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW, CORDY!" He screamed as Cordelia jumped a little but didn't budge.

"Fight this, please", Cordelia begged.

Billy stepped closer. "Don't fight it - feel it! You can, can't you? All that rage, all that hatred bubbling to the surface?" He turned conversational. "And now its Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself, who every single Demon is afraid of, this is gonna be fun."

"Please leave", Matt begged, trying to control himself.

"No, this happened to you because of me, so I can't leave you now", Cordelia told him gently and firmly.

Matt snapped. "Shut up Cordy! You're making me really angry."

Cordelia backed up just a little as Matt said. "At him!"

With that Matt spun around and hit Billy full force sending him flying to the ground as Cordelia lowered her hand which she'd raised to shield herself from the expected blow.

Billy now looked up and was horrified to see Matt's eyes glowing a burning red, his hands at his side, as he walked forward slowly, and the now horrified Billy got up, slowly backing away in horror.

He then rushed to Billy who tried to punch but Matt ducked, then gave him 2 swift punches to the chest, then 2 to the face. He then gave him a combo of one swift punch to the chest followed by a swift one to the face, and followed it up again before pushing him back, then leaping up with a roar, kicked his chest, and then his face, making Billy fall down face first.

Billy now smashed both hands hard against the ground. A shock wave radiated out from his hands then returned to them as a crack appeared in the ground between them. Both hands began to glow a bright red. The red left his hands, flashing up his arms and Billy's eyes flashed yellow.

Matt felt the muscles of his hand expand slightly as he realized he'd increased his striking strength.

Billy got up and threw 2 punches which Matt backed and ducked to avoid before ducking and sliding to Billy's other side to avoid his next punch.

He dodged a few more punches before suddenly decking Billy's chest, sending him back, then punched his abdomen, chest and face, throwing him to the side. Billy recovered and threw a punch but Matt ducked and slid to his other side again.

He threw a few more punches which Matt managed to avoid before punching his face, sending him back, then gave him a combo of 3 punches to the chest, followed by the face, sending him back again.

Billy tried to punch but Matt ducked and punched his abdomen, then his face, making him spit out blood, and punched his abdomen again before punching his face hard.

Billy tried to grab him but Matt freed himself and punched his chest many times before giving him a left hook and a right hook, making him spit out blood both times, then punched his chest hard, before giving him a hard uppercut that made him spit out blood into the air as he fell to his knees.

Matt then started punching face multiple times with roars of rage as Angel now arrived in the area, watching in shock. Matt held Billy up by the back of the collar, and delivered brutal punishment in the form of multiple, hard punches to the face as Billy spat out more blood and his nose broke too.

Billy was now whimpering as Matt kneeled closer, his burning red eyes glaring into the misogynistic half-Demon's eyes, and he whispered. "I'm not going to kill you, no matter how much you beg."

And then he straightened, grabbing Billy's collar, and delivered brutal punishment to his face once more, giving him 2 black eyes, and Billy was thrown on the ground as Matt marched to him to do some more when Cordelia called out. "Stop!"

Matt didn't stop as Cordelia ran past him, stepping in his way, putting her hand on his chest. "This isn't you, I know you. Please, let it go. You know you control it, it doesn't control you."

Matt panted, taking quick breaths as Cordelia watched his burning red eyes in shock, begging. "Please."

Matt then backed off, panting as the glow in his eyes faded, and his anger too as he fell to his knees, Cordelia supporting him.

Angel walked up to Billy who was now staggering up, deciding to waste the guy himself when 2 gunshots rang out and Billy fell down, dead.

Angel and Cordelia turned to see Lilah lowering her pistol as Matt realized she was here too. He hadn't sensed her properly earlier due to his anger taking over. Lilah looked at Angel, then walked off as Angel walked to them both, putting a hand on Matt's shoulder.

"You okay, buddy?" He asked.

"Yeah", Matt nodded with gasps.

"How did his power not affect you?" Cordelia asked.

"It did, just not the way he wanted", Matt said, standing up finally. "Guess what was inside me reacted differently."

"Bastard got what he deserved", Angel shrugged as they led him away. "Come on."

He turned to Cordelia. "You're okay, right? Nothing happened to you?"

"I'm fine", Cordelia assured with a smile as Angel nodded, relieved.

"You coming with us?" Angel asked.

"Thank you for the offer, but I'm good", Matt said with a sigh, wiping his face. "Faith's probation is done by tomorrow, I need to get back quickly."

"I understand", Angel assured, patting Matt's shoulder. "Take care."

"You too", Matt said, patting his shoulder before he and Cordelia shared a hug.

"Thank you", she said as they kissed each other's cheek.

"Thank you", he said back before they parted and he walked off, the two watching after him in concern.

Later

Matt knocked on the door as Lilah opened it, and he held out her business card and files.

"You bastard", she snarled as she took those from him. "So coming to comfort me was just an excuse to steal my stuff."

"How do you think Angel and Daredevil went after Billy?" Matt pointed out as Lilah realized he'd a hand in Billy getting his. "Figured I owed you one there."

"Guess so", Lilah said and added grudgingly. "Thanks."

Matt then growled, clutching his cane, and leaned in close to her face. "Next time you do anything to Cordelia, you're not going to walk away from that."

The tone in his voice made her back off in shock as Matt straightened himself and walked off, hearing her shut the door behind him.

Suddenly, he felt something on his chest, what it was, he couldn't tell, it had just appeared out of nowhere. Putting his hand inside his shirt, he tried to feel it, but couldn't find it.

So he then unbuttoned his shirt, turning his head down, and was horrified as he actually SAW an inverted pentagram surrounded by a circle on his chest, glowing with hellfire, which is how it was visible to him.

Shuddering in fright, Matt buttoned his shirt and walked off as fast he could, Mephisto's laughter ringing in his head.

Later, Wolfram and Hart

"Ah, Lilah, come here", Linwood Murrow said as she sat down in front of him. "I know we had that incident a while ago."

"It was because of Blim, sir", Lilah told him, though of course she wanted to deck him again.

"Yeah, so we can let bygones be bygones", he assured her, then handed her a file. "These are some plans Gavin had before his death, he planned to bug Hyperion. So, you do it, and let's add a little extra, like some concealing spell or-"

Next day, New York City

Matt walked into his home as Foggy got up.

"Where's Faith?" Matt asked, not hearing her heartbeat. "Where did she go?"

"Hey man, she left", Foggy said as Matt searched around, but her stuff was gone too, including the books he'd gifted her, and her Slayer getup too.

"She said anything?" Matt asked.

"She said she'd leave you a message on the answering machine, and I think she did", Foggy told him before walking off, knowing what on there was for Matt alone, and he walked to the answering machine.

"You've one new message."

And then Faith's voice came. "Matt, hey. I thought it'd be easier to say this than write it down...well, I don't know how to write braille so I figured this was the next best option. Man, here I was thinking this would be easier. Well here goes, I've left, if that wasn't obvious, but I need to go to Sunnydale. It's something I need to do, face the demons of my past, I know you have experience in there. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me, but I need to do this part alone. Not sure what will happen when I see the place again, but hey, I'm five by five, thanks to you."

Matt put the machine down and picked up his case again. "Oh no you're not."

"What's the matter?" Foggy asked Matt as he came back out.

"She thinks doing it alone is the best way to make up for what she did, but I'm not letting her do it alone, she has been alone her whole life and thinks she deserves it, but no longer", Matt told Foggy as he walked out, shutting the door behind him.

"All right, go help your girlfriend", Foggy shrugged, sitting down as he relaxed his head.

Then the door opened and Matt raised his finger. "Not my girlfriend!"

The door shut again as Matt walked out while Foggy groaned. "Yeah, whatever you say."

So we're done with Billy. In case there's any confusion, the guy that beat up Lilah in this fic was Linwood, since Gavin is already dead, and that's why he didn't plant the bugs either, but Linwood is going to have Lilah do it, since the bugs are important from 3x7-3x10. And considering he favored Gavin over Lilah for whatever reason (probably since both Linwood and Gavin are incompetent I guess, unlike Lilah who actually works hard, even if it's for an evil cause), I can see him doing this.

Because of Matt's Devil, Billy's power affected him differently in that he did get angry, but at Billy himself rather than any women.

The info I mentioned on Billy's peaceful Demon mom and horrible human dad was actually in the script for this episode, but never made it into the episode for whatever reason, but it is true. That's the explanation for his misogyny and powers.

Poor Matt though.

Faith is now off to Sunnydale, and Matt's gonna go after her just in time for 'Once More, With Feeling', and I hope all look forward to that.

I didn't include the stuff with Wesley, Fred and Gunn because it'd go the same as in the show, and it was creepy as hell and heartbreaking too due to Wesley's crying in the end.

Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter. Stay safe from the coronavirus ya all!
