Honestly, they took it better than I was expecting. It was a solid two seconds before everyone started screaming, silencing only when Reyna raised her hand. She seemed rather calm, all things considered, I'll have to get her to teach me how she did that without making a sound. I usually have to at least slam my fist.
"How do we know you aren't lying? I've never heard of any greek demigods in the modern-day" her tone was deadly serious. Good, she's not stupid.
"If I had decided to lie I would have at least told you something that made you less likely to attempt shooting me down, not more, don't you think?" This didn't seem to reassure her I sigh heavily
"Look, you have my oath, we are coming to help, do you want it or not?" Her eyes hardened and she gave a slight nod.
"We will see you at first light" with not another word she swiped through the image the message fading from sight with the setting sun. It's gonna be a long night better warn everyone to be ready for a fight, either from the Roman's or from Gaia
We made good time, the crew and I much to used to burning the midnight oil. Making final preparations for the battle ahead we began dressing in our armor. Honestly, there is only so nonthreatening you can make a warship look, our ballista unloaded but ready to rack in an instant bow laid out everywhere, surrounding the buckets packed with arrows in the center several racks of pikes stood tall in case the beast got too close for comfort. Yes, we simply looked like a bunch of pacifists that couldn't hurt a fly, don't we? Yep, we're getting shot at by the Romans, I bet we won't even make it past the border before they start taking potshots.
Reyna Ramirez-Arellano "Preator"
Talking Octavian down was a feat in and of itself; the half a dozen ballista showed my concessions while we awaited the arrival of the claimed Greek's. I still don't know what to think or whether I believe them. Octavian seemed sure enough of it and is clear he's barely containing himself. The sun's rising Lord Apollo is starting his trip the sky had a slight overcast but there was no mistaking the massive warship descending towards the field of Mars. It was truly something to behold its haul scared from past battles, a black sail catching the wind with a pair of crossed torches. The symbol of Trivia I notice idly ballista stationed fore and aft cocked but unloaded circular shields ringing the deck rail. The figurehead was a warrior dressed in traditional greek armor wielding a sword and a torch and upon two large posts waved two flags. One an orange flag with a pegasus emblazoned on it, The other a silver banner with a stag and bow. High above either flew a black flag snapping in the wind something appeared to be written on it.
It would be impressive if it didn't scare the hell out of me. This was a gamble and everyone knew it but it's too late now at least they don't appear to be turning their weapons on us. With a thud, the ship landed the crew set to work like a well-oiled machine as the ramp lowered to the ground. The first one down it was zack now doned in pitch black Greek armor a long sword on his hip a sack of some kind on the other, and a helm with a purple horsehair plume that would likely reach the small of his back was tucked under his arm, every inch had symbols carved into it.
He was flanked by an extremely tall blonde girl dressed in armor as well, her's bronze, and a faun wearing armor carved out of bark. I'd say that was strange but I could see about half a dozen faun unloading medical supplies with the crew. Sticking his hand out to shake mine I return the gesture his hand was strong and calloused to anyone else this meant nothing but as a daughter of Bellona and one whose hand felt the same I knew these were the callous of someone who spent far too much time with a sword in their hand.
"Preator it's nice to meet you in person this is my second in command Taylor Ratcliff Daughter of Athena and My chief of medical Clovis"
Before I could speak up Octavian spoke out of turn "A faun and an abomination What use are they." he sneered it wasn't a question
Zack's eye's snapped to him "What use is a centurion that doesn't know their place"
He was quick. I'll give him that stand in defense of his men while simultaneously stating that Octvian's better was talking well done.
"He is correct, hold your tongue centurion" seeing Octavian seeth was worth the headache this would cause later. Turning I lead the way to a small tent set up to plan the defense pieces spread over the map scouting reports and more.
"We have over two hundred legionaries ready for battle and another hundred and fifty in reserve. The encroaching army is estimated at five thousand and we believe they are being led by a giant. What are you bringing to the table" I spout these numbers off the cuff, they are all I can think about since I heard them.
"Forty combatants eight medics and enough ordinance to invade a country" he replied smoothly and motioned to his second in command who stepped forward
"We will best be able to assist from the air it will allow us to move freely and rain fire down on the enemy without worrying about friendly fire" it made sense they were a gunship and could react to threats best if in the air
"Just like a greacus to not meet the enemy head-on like a coward" naturally Octavian choose now to open his trap
Zack merely cocked a brow as he replied "Then I look forward to seeing you lead your cohort front and center and seeing you meet the enemy head-on"
Cleaver Octavian had already turned white, he was being challenged and he knew it. He also knew he couldn't back down as Zack stared him down as though he could see everything that was the Augur and he was completely unimpressed.
I finally speak up "That's enough, leave us. I wish to speak with zack alone" everyone filled out Taylor after only a moment's hesitation and a nod from zack.

Looking at Reyna now I could see an exhausted woman only another commander could truly see the signs but they were there. Sharp eyes that spoke of sleepless nights, the ever so slight slump in her shoulders and somehow she was still an inch taller than me.
"I apologize for Octavian, he's difficult but you seem to handle him well."
I smirk a slight chuckle rolling from my lips "He's a politician, not a soldier and he decided to play a game of manipulation with the son of the goddess of magic and manipulation. He was easy enough to deal with when you don't have to worry about him coming for your career."
She raises a brow but doesn't comment some tension leaving her shoulders and she seems to stand straighter
"Thank you for coming to our aid lets hope it enough"
I nod in understanding " I spoke to my crew if worst comes to worst and Rome falls today pull the legion back. We will cover you while you get the civilians out of the city. Pray it doesn't come to that though."
