Chapter 2
"I wonder what Kiara is going to do with all of that though?" Amelia has recently been chatting with Kiara, and gave some of what Kiara asked to be bought when the blonde detective went out to a case.
But she was wondering what a phoenix will do with such things that a bird like her doesn't normally do. Maybe she's planning something?
As curious as Amelia thinks about this she prefers to leave Kiara onto her silly experiments, as so long it doesn't affect the wellbeing of everyone.
A few days later, finally after lots of work and getting no rest, Kiara has successfully made her love potion!
"Huff… After all the sacrifices I made, Calli will finally realize my love for her~" Kiara happily jumped around as she holds her success into her hands.
She had tested with some animals she found, and once she saw one drinking the substance, whoever was in range of their sight would immediately catch their eyes and fall in one swoop as love at first sight commenced.
Kiara feels a little bit guilty that she will be drugging Calli, since she didn't really look forward to this at the first place, but it has to be done! And besides~
She's death herself, she can't die, so she probably won't be affected by it too much. Both are immortals, and whatever they do they live either way!
*Knock Knock knock.
"Someone's knocking at my door?"
Kiara carefully puts her work down as she approaches the door. Once the room was empty, our of nowhere Amelia sneaks in the window and stood up.
She can't hold her curiosity no longer.
She looks around before she spots what seems to be a vial of some pinkish liquid.
"Ooh, what's this you're making Kiara?"
Watson opens it up slightly, and the aura of this thing is very strong which made Amelia put it's cap back.
"...woah, what is she going to do with this?" Amelia asks herself but as soon as she heard footsteps coming she immediately tried to put the thing back to where she found it, but she accidentally spilled another liquid and the vial Kiara made got mixed in. "Ah shit!"
"God damn it, I hate it when someone knocks and I see no one." Kiara grumbled by the annoyance she walked to the door to see nobody. She looks at her room and PC. It's all in one place still. She felt like someone was in here just now, but she doesn't mind as she went back to her chair and grabbed her creation and gently shakes it with her hand while she scrolls through her Twitter.
Amelia sighed as she comes out of the bushes she jumped out in panic. Luckily she didn't do anything to make an impression that she was just there snooping earlier, except for the fact that she might have mixed something else on Kiara's work, but she's sure it's nothing.
The next few days...
It's finally time!
It's the new years, and another year has passed for HoloEN and the rest of Hololive!
After a collab with her friends, Kiara invited Calli to come over to her house for a duo stream together, drink together, but this time she'll be serving something special for Calli~
Kiara picked up a kettle as she pours some hot water onto two cups.
Thanks to her Phoenix nature it was a piece of cake boiling something as water.
"Now, what should I put in… milk? Nono, Calli might think of something when she sees me nervous."
-Kusotori… what did you put in my drink
"Yikes…" As she said that she thought of something. Cocoa! It's Christmas after all!
Kiara stands up to go get some!
It doesn't take long until she prepared her and calli's drink, and now...the moment she has been waiting for…
Kiara pulls out her vial of her pink substance, she pulls out the cork and the smell is once again overwhelming.
It's the smell of love!
She desperately pours most of it to Calli's drink, but a single knock from her door made her jump and the rest accidentally has gone to hers, but she didn't notice as once she heard the knock Kiara quickly ran for the door.
"Welcome Calli~ I'm glad you came early!"
"Yo. Why do you look so sweaty Kusotori?"
"Oh it's nothing, come in!"
After a few minutes of Calli and Kiara talking to each other and reading super chats. The bird tries to not make it obvious that she has done something. She gave Calli her cocoa drink, but all she did was just hold it, and she's been holding it while talking!
Kiara is also holding hers because she can't even focus. She must do something now, to finally seal the deal!
"So...Calli, I think the cocoa is uh, getting cold now."
"Oh it's not a big deal , I can drink it when it's warm, or even if it's cold."
Kiara looks at Calli's drink and it's still steaming. It's been a few minutes now and she's afraid that the effects of her love potion might not work anymore if this keeps up. She needs to do something.
She takes a sip of her own drink, worrying that Calli won't drink it until she's leaving.
She was looking forward to an easy victory, but the Phoenix feels like Death has seen through her already and is just waiting for it to cool down or maybe she won't even drink it! Kiara finished her entire drink while she was thinking to herself.
Kiara sighs, but her eyes opened up as she felt something on her mouth. She looks inside it. She was surprised to see that her bottle that contained the love potion was inside her drink!
She immediately knew what this meant.
Kiara gave her the wrong one, and Kiara drank the whole thing…
"I don't feel anything except for my same love for Calli…" She thinks to herself as Calli was now drinking the cocoa. This made Kiara a bit upset… she gave the wrong one…
"Hey, Kiara. Someone's on the door I think."
"I-I'll get it…"
Calli looked at Kiara, what was that disappointed tone just now?
Kiara stared at death's eyes. Both of them glared at each other, quietly… making the chat on their livestream question what is going on and why it suddenly grew quiet.
A minute later Kiara stands up and walks to the door.
Calli finally broke her gaze from Kiara, but what the hell just happened?
"Uh, chat! Uhh, sorry for that awkward pause, me and Kusotori felt like something was going on so we stopped for a second. No need to worry!"
"N-no! We weren't looking at each other! Stop iiit!"
