Deku vs Kacchan

The entire area surrounding the school Midoriya Izuku and Bakugo Katsuki went to had been evacuated, in a 3-kilometer radius, heroes were set up on all possible exit routes and the media was also present in helicopters as well as in the surrounding area trying to catch a glimpse of what was about to unfold in that school building.

Two men stood on the roof of the school building in silence looking at each other, one in glee and the other in anger.

Bakugo couldn't believe his eyes, he had the green hair, the freckles and even green eyes of the Izuku Midoriya last seen 9 years ago.

It's really him...

"So you came Kacchan! For a minute there I thought I'd have to kill Red Riot as well to get to you!" Midoriya yelled eerily happy. Midoriya was glad that he didn't have to kill another person, murder was a tiresome job after all. But seeing his old bully in his hero costume did rub him the wrong way, so he chose to relieve that irritation by getting under his skin.

"You bastard!" snarls Bakugo, trying his best not to lose his cool.

"Oh how could you Kacchan, such language is unbecoming of the No.3 hero! All Might would be disappointed, tch tch. And here I'd thought you'd mellowed out after becoming a hero" mocks Midoriya very clearly trying to provoke the short-tempered Bakugo.

"Surrender Deku, we have you surrounded, there's no way you're getting out of this"

"Oh I wouldn't worry about that Kacchan, I have friends now! No thanks to you, but even if they don't make it it won't matter. As long as the world sees you for who you are I don't mind going to jail"

"Huh? What do you mean..." asks Bakugo quietly as he realizes what he meant.

"Oh that's hilarious! The ever-vigilant Katsuki Bakugo didn't notice? Are you sure your still fit for duty like that? Are you getting that camera? Bakugo Katsuki didn't notice you~~"

Bakugo had been so focused on Deku before that he failed to look at his surroundings, set up on the roof we're multiple cameras.

"You've been recording this?" Bakugo's anger on the rise.

"Recording? Don't make me laugh Dynamight-sama, if it was a mere recording then you could easily destroy the data... no no no, we can't have that can we? No, this is giving live footage that the world is free to see!"

"One last time Deku, surrender and I can help you"

"Help? Help? Did I hear that right? Kacchan wants to help me? Wow Kirishima must've really got to you huh, but no matter how you change the past always exists! You can't change that!" Deku snaps a bit but quickly regains his composure.

Midoriya turns to the closest camera. "Now ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our Chief Guest for today Katsuki Bakugo! Let's dance Kacchan!"

Bakugo closed his eyes, readied himself for the upcoming fight and flew towards Midoriya.

"Kacchan always the same! Everyone get a look of Katsuki's favorite opening right hook!" Deku yells as he gracefully intercepts the incoming punch.

Katsuki's right hand was quickly caught by Midoriya and in a move that really told Bakugo how far Deku was willing to go for his little show, threw Bakugo off the roof.

"Aren't you the one who told me to swan dive off the roof back in middle school? How nice of you to test it for me! Catch me pro hero!" Midoriya cackled as he indeed swan dived off the roof, following after his childhood bully.

Bakugo could find no words to reply with, he simply used his blasts to give him some extra altitude to catch the falling villain. Bakugo quickly caught hold of Midoriya's leg and threw him into the school and following after him.

The window of the classroom broke and gave way for the pair of hero and villain, the shards of glass digging into the back of the thrown villain.

"Aww Kacchan I didn't peg you for the nostalgic type you know? Throwing me into the same classroom where you bullied me and beat me up. Look world! This is where Katsuki Bakugo burnt my book and threw it out the window!" he says as he once again turns to a camera he set up. Izuku Midoriya had waited ages for this moment a little pain wasn't going to deter him.

Midoriya wasted no extra time, he threw a desk at Bakugo who easily destroyed it with a quirk blast with his quirk. After the smoke settled, Izuku Midoriya was nowhere to be seen.

That damn nerd used the smoke to run into the corridor!

Bakugo quickly followed after but left or right, Deku was nowhere to be seen.

"Yoo hoooo. Kaacchaann overrr heeerreeee~~~"

Bakugo couldn't decide where the sound was coming from with the voice echoing in the corridor. "WHERE ARE YA DEKU! FIGHT ME!"

Suddenly the floor underneath Bakugo broke as he fell down into the first floor... right in front of in the trajectory of an incoming onslaught of throwing knives.

"Katsuki I can't let you do this"
"It became my business when we got together 3 years ago now tell me! Please..."

"Sorry Eijiro, I'm going to be home late."

Bakugo curls into a ball and brings his gauntlets in front of his face to protect himself, but unexpectedly instead of piercing his body all the knives blow up in front of his hands, blasting him backwards through a wall and into a classroom.

"Aww I wanted to end it there but it looks like you have a bit more of life in you... hmmmm how about we change that?" the villain walks over with another knife in hand seemingly ready to kill his old bully.

"Stand back nerd, if you've been watching me so closely you know I can get you from this distance" Bakugo threatens him, but in the beat up state that he was in it came off more as a desperate bluff.

"Oh we both know you can't do that! No.3 Hero Dynamight killing a villain? Impossible! In fact you have the record for most villains brought in unharmed! I've always wondered... what did you do? Talk them out of it? Threaten them? Or are you just that good? Or maybe, did you think of that as atonement for what you did to me?" Deku once again laughs at the sight before him.

"Weak wittle kacchan, always praised as one destined for greatness but yet here he is beaten up and on the ground at the mercy of a quirkless man." Deku holds up Bakugo's chin with his knife and smiles like the happiest man in the world.

"Sorry Deku, I'm sorry."

"What's this? the No.3 Hero apologizing and begging for his life? Hah!" the madman laughed hysterically as he made his way to the grounded hero.

"I was wrong! I was wrong! All these years I never stopped searching for you! I never stopped hoping that we could start over! But now when I look at you it all comes flooding back, the teasing, then the bullying and and... telling you to die! In the last 9 years there hasn't been a day I didn't regret it!" screams Katsuki, somewhere in the middle of that speech Katsuki Bakugo had started crying.

"Ohhhhh what's this! In all the 20 years I've known you, regret is the one thing you never felt! Crying!? You think a desperate apology like that would make me forgive you!? What happened to 'Crying is for the weak Deku, heroes don't cry'?!" Deku mocks shaking his head.

"When you went missing I hadn't known for weeks. When I finally got the news it was when your mother asked me to help by bringing the request to Endeavor's agency when I interned there in the winter... I kept having nightmares for a few weeks, 'what if he didn't go missing but he actually suicided because of me' that guilt ate away at me for the rest of my life. So when I knew for certain that you were alive, however twisted you've become, some part of me felt relieved. But you aren't the Deku I remember! I know what happened to him! I killed him didn't I! With my own words and actions, I killed the Deku that wanted to be a hero! I killed the Deku that wanted to save people with a smile! I killed you Deku... So I'm sorry. It's only right if you kill me too."

Bakugo had exploded, all of his pent up guilt over the course of his life came out for the world to see in one fell swoop. Dynamight had nothing left to hide.

"Kill you? This was never about killing you Kacchan, I just wanted to kill the hero Dynamight. The hero within me that you did away with. It's that very same thing that I aimed to take from you! Now the whole world can only see Bakugo Katsuki as the broken man he is and not the powerful hero he showed the world for 5 long years! Now that my job is done and you've been thoroughly broken, it's time for the curtain call. Oh and Kacchan, the cameras were actually recording and not streaming, what would I have done if the other heroes saw it and came to save you! Don't worry though it'll be there in it's entirety by tomorrow. And I almost forgot! I can't kill you but I can leave you with a neat parting gift!" Deku monologues and then as soon as he was done slowly used his knife to cut across Bakugo's face as slowly and painfully as he could.

"Ooooohhh that'll leave a nice scar on your face won't it? Kirishima is into the manly type isn't he! Hah!" Midoriya's twisted laughter is the last thing he heard as Bakugo Katsuki fell unconscious.

By the time Bakugo Katsuki woke up in the hospital 3 days later the world had already learnt the truth of what happened. How Dynamight had bullied a quirkless man in his youth and how towards the end he had lost his will to fight and asked his old victim to kill him for his past sins.

However there was something unexpected in the video that Bakugo hadn't anticipated. Soon after Midoriya left Bakugo with the scar it doesn't end but cuts to Deku on the roof of the building and he leaves Bakugo with one last message.

"Whenever you see this Kacchan, I won't ever forgive you for what you've done because in hindsight all of what you've said was true. To be a hero one needs a quirk, and I was born unlucky so I've decided to take your advice, although I'm about 10 years late. So what was it that you said Kacchan? Oh yes 'believe you'll have a quirk in your next life and swan dive off the roof'. Sayonara Kacchan!"

And then the video cuts to his dead body on the ground and the video ends there.

As soon as he had been discharged from the hospital Dynamight announced his retirement. He was no longer a hero in the public eye, and he could no longer call himself a hero with his past mistakes.

The public however soon showed an interesting opinion online. While all the media outlets and news reporters seemed oddly fixated on television and newspapers, the public opinion of Dynamight on public forums and social media was overwhelmingly positive.

"Even heroes are humans, people change"
"That was so long ago we shouldn't judge him"
"Did you guys see him? He was in so much pain!"
"From the beginning he was trying to help the villain instead of condemning him! He's a true hero!"

Such sentiments could be seen all over the internet. Izuku Midoriya had certainly broken Bakugo Katsuki's spirit but Dynamight was still hailed as a successful hero. The video that was released online seemed to only increase the popularity of Dynamight.

Izuku Midoriya the villain, in all his planning had failed to plan for the positivity of humanity.

Dynamight would return as the number 3 hero a year and a half later after therapy and with a renewed vigor to help those in need and never make the same mistake. He soon called a press conference to announce his return and then he spoke the words that Midoriya had wanted to hear from anyone oh so long ago.

"Whether you have an invisibility quirk or blaster quirk or even no quirk at all... with enough training and preparation, You Too Can Become A Hero"
