*Let's Continue Where We Left*
"There are footprints here." Kirito said
"Someone must have passed by here. Let's hurry."
Kirito and Eugeo start following the footsteps that were printed on the ground. As they were following the footprints, they got closer and closer to a cave.
"So this is the Northern Cave... And the Dark Territory is on the other side?"
"Selka's not here. Nor Sonic. If we find them soon, we can get back to the village by dark." Eugeo said
"Come on, let's hurry."
The two enter the Northern Cave, as they walk deeper and deeper into the cave, it got darker and darker. As they were running, bats were flying around them and ss the two took out their swords and attack them in the dark. The two continue fighting the bats and taking them down, one by one. Both Kirito and Eugeo use their skills to take down the bats easily. Minutes later, the two defeated the bats and continue running deeper into the cave. After a few minutes of running and climbing, they both enter an ice room filled with ice shard crystals. But still no sight of Sonic or Selka. Moments later, they hear loud noises echoing around.
"What the hell was that?"
"Beats me. I've never heard anything like it before."
"Hey..."
"What is it?"
"Do you smell that, Kirito?"
"Yeah, like, something burning? With a trace of wild animal, maybe?"
"AAAAAHHH!" A male and female voice scream echoing
"Selka!" Eugeo shock
"Sonic! Let's go!" Kirito said
"Ey, look! Two more fresh White lum cubs in one day! What's goin' on here!"
"Should we catch 'em too?"
"Male lums won't sell for nothin'. Just kill 'em for 'er meat."
Kirito notices Selka laying unconscious and being guarded by goblins and Sonic barely getting up with injuries and blood dripping down his right arm.
"Eugeo. We're gonna get Selka out of there. You good to go?"
"Y-Yeah!"
They both got into their fighting position and all charge at the goblins. Sonic notices the two charging at the goblins and grab his sword as well and charges at the goblins as well.
"No more being nice. I'm ending you for what you did to me and Selka." Sonic in a serious tone
"Grah! You dare challenge the great Ugachi, ya filthy lum cubs!"
"Oh no, we're not just challenging you. We're gonna take you down!"
Kirito and Sonic both charge at Ugachi and start attacking while Eugeo battle the smaller goblins. Kirito and Sonic both do sword attack combos on Ugachi and dealing damage to him. Sonic jumps behind Ugachi and stab's him in the back hard twice. Kirito charges up his sword and does a 4 hit-combo on Ugachi. Ugachi slam's his sword at Kirito but quickly dodges it and counters it with a quick attack. Eugeo charges up his sword and lunges at the goblins and does a powerful swing attack on them, knocking them back. One of the goblins were charging at Eugeo from behind but Eugeo quickly turns and stab's the goblin through the chest. After that, he pulls his sword out and continues fighting the other goblins. Sonic turn's into a ball and homing attacks Ugachi in the head multiple times. After that, he charges up his sword does a powerful 10-hit combo on Ugachi. Kirito lunges at Ugachi and cut's off both Ugachi's right leg and right arm. Eugeo finally takes down the goblins and helps out with Kirito and Sonic. Ugachi does a spin move and hits all three of them and send's them flying. He then charges at Sonic, grab's him, and slam's him into the ground, unconscious and not moving. Kirito and Eugeo both jumps behind Urgachi with their swords in charge and attack him, pushing him away from Sonic.
"Haaah... Haaah... Sonic!" Kirito shouted
"These guys don't move like ordinary monsters..."
"Tearin' you cubs to shreds ain't gonna make me feel any better... But hey, I can make fun!"
"Kirito!"
"No, Eugeo!"
Ugachi and Eugeo both slam swords but Ugachi's swing was powerful enough to send Eugeo flying back into crystal shards.
"Doooooon't! Eugeo!"
"Ngh... Wh-When we were kids... me, you, Sonic, and Alice... made a promise... We were together the day we were born... and we'll be together the day we die..."
"Are these... our memories? We grew up in this world... with Eugeo, Alice, and Sonic... Right... We believed we'd always be together, that nothing would ever change. But then we came to this cave... After that, We couldn't do anything... We couldn't protect her. We was helpless."
"But it's... different this time..."
"Get yer head outta yer ass, you damn White lum! An lum... An lum cub like you has no chance of beatin' the great Ugachi!"
"Enough! My name isn't "lum"!"
Kirito jumps and does a powerful swing attack at Ugachi. He then performs a 3 hit combo hit on him. After that, he fell onto the ground.
"I'm the swordsman, Kirito! Your leader is dead! If you still wanna fight, bring it on! Otherwise, get the hell out!"
The goblins all start running away.
"Eugeo! Sonic! Hang in there!"
Selka walk's toward's Kirito who was trying to help Eugeo and Sonic.
"Kirito... Is that you?" Selka asked
"Selka! Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" Kirito worry
"N-No, I'm fine." Selka replied
"Great. I meed your help. Eugeo and Sonic are looking really bad. You need fo use your Sacred Arts! That's the only way to save them!" Kirito begged
"Wha-"
"P-Please Selka... save Eugeo..."
Kirito and Sleka turned their heads to see Sonic slowly getting up while holding his back. Kirito kneels to help Sonic slowly sit back up.
"S-Sorry for worrying you guys." Sonic said
"Please Selka..."
Moments later, Selka sat next to Eugeo while Kirito and Sonic watched her.
"I can't... I can't heal wounds this bad... with my Sacred Arts... I just can't... Eugeo... This can't be... It's all my fault..." Selka blaming herself
"Crying isn't going to save him! Just give it a try! You're going to run that church someday! You've taken up Alice's mantle!" Kirito said
"Do it for Eugeo, Selka. You have the strength to help him. I believe in you." Sonic said
"I can't... I'm not her... I can only heal.. tiny little scratches..." Selka said
"Eugeo came here to save you, Selka! He risked his life not for Alice, but you!" Kirito said
"And this is how you pay him in return? Leaving him like to die? Is that what you want to happen?" Sonic said
"...I'll have to try a dangerous high-level art, and I'll need both your help, Kirito. Sonic." Selka said
"A-Alright. What do you need us to do?"
"Tell us."
"Give me both your left hand you two. If this fails, all of four of us may die. Do you still want to do it?"
"If that happens, make sure it's only me. Ready when you are!" Kirito accepting
"Your lives are more important then mine and Kirito's. Let's do this." Sonic accepting as well
The three hold each other hands.
"System Call. Transfer Human Unit: Durability. Right Hand, Self, to Left!"
Their hands start to glow soon after.
"You've got this, Eugeo."
"Come back to us."
"Eugeo may only be a soul, but he's still our friend, and we will not let him die."
"H-How are you holding up Kirito and Sonic?" Selka asked
"I'm doing well. Just keep on going." Sonic replied
"Just fine. Keep transferring to Eugeo!" Kirito replied
"..."
"This is as much as I can do... Any more and your Life will run out!" Selka said
"Is this what it feels like to die? Im freezing... and ao terribly alone... Wait... I feel a tiny warmth... A hand... but not Selka's... Who are you?"
"Kirito, Eugeo, Sonic. I'll be waiting for you. Meet me at the top of Central Cathedral..."
*Fast Foward*
"Oh hey, Eugeo. How have you been after the incident?" Sonic said
"I'm doing alright, just needed a little break. And I see you made a recovery as well." Eugeo said
"Just some back pain is all I got. Just needed to rest for a while but now feel so much better now." sonic said
"How are your wounds? Do they still hurt?" Kirito asked
"After a full day of rest, I'm feeling much better. Thanks for carry me all the way back to the village." Eugeo thanking Kirito
"Selka did the hard work. Without her, you may not have made it back at all." Kirito said
"Yeah. I'm grateful to you three."
Kirito look's away for a moment.
"What's wrong Kirito?" Sonic said
"Is something the matter, Kirito." Eugeo said
"By the way, did any of you two hear someone's voice when Selka used that Sacred Art?" Kirito asked
"I don't remember hearing anything exactly." Sonic respond
"No, I was unconscious... Why, did you hear something?" Eugeo said
"No, it's nothing. Just my imagination. Let's get back to work."
Later...
"Alright. That does it for this morning's shift." Eugeo said
"We got throught that quicker than usual, huh?" Kirito said
"Well I mostly did the most damage to the tree with my spin dash but It still wasn't enough." Sonic said
"The Dragonbone Axe felt lighter in my hand today. It's strange." Eugeo said
"Probably because we took out that pack of goblins. My Object Control Authority has gone up. Bet Eugeo and Sonic in the same boat. Plus, Selka managed to pull off a high-level art. We've all leveled up. Maybe now I can..."
Later, Kirito walk's up to the tree holding the Blue Rose Sword once again in his right hand.
"Wh-Whoa, you can carry that now, Kirito?"
"Yep. It's not just the axe that got lighter."
Kirito get's into position and slashes the sword towards the tree.
"I see. For whatever reason, Sword Skills exist here. That'll come in handy."
"Nice attack, Kirito." Sonic commented
"Thanks buddy."
"Was that a sword art, Kirito?"
"Yeah. Probably. I think."
"You were pretty good with your sword when we went beast-hunting the other day. Maybe your Calling was man-at-arms... Or maybe you were a guard in a big city? Only guards get to learn swordsmanship... I'm honestly a little jealous." Eugeo said
"Eugeo..."
"Kirito... what style do you pratice? Or do you not remember the name?" Eugeo asked
Kirito look's toward Sonic. Sonic give's him a shrug.
"No, I remember. It's called Aincrad Style." Kirito responded
"Ain...crad Style... What an odd name. I've never heard of it, but maybe that was your master's name? Or the name of the town they lived in... Kirito, I... Well... Would you be willing to teach me the Aincrad Style? I know I'm not a guard or a man-at-arms, so it may be against the rules, but..."
"Come on, Kirito. Teach him the Aincrad Style that you know." Sonic said while giving a wink
"You can do it, Eugeo. Don't give up. Don't let the Taboo Index rule your life."
"Still, I... I want to get stronger. I don't want to ever repeat my mistakes. I want to take back what I've lost. So, Kirito... please take me under your wing." Eugeo ask
"Alright, I'll teach you. But I'm warning you, this won't be easy."
"Bring it on. I think this is it... This is what I've always longed for. No, I'm sure of it. I've been waiting for you this whole time, Kirito... I've been stuck in this forest for six years... waiting for you to arrive."
"Yeah. I'm sure Sonic and I awoke here in this forest in order to meet you, Eugeo."
"What are we waiting for you two? Let's start training!" Sonic said
Later on, Kirito and Sonic watch as Eugeo trains with the Blue Rose Sword. Both watching Eugeo slashing the tree with his strength.
"Hi-yaaah!"
After a few swings, the three notice the ground shaking as the tree started to tip down right in front of them. Once it hit the ground, it causes dust to fly everywhere as the three ducked down and covered their eyes. After a short while, the three-stop covering their eyes stood up and look back to see the tree chopped down.
"Aaahhh!"
*Back At The Village*
"So you're really going, Eugeo?" Selka ask
"Yeah."
"Selka, this is Eugeo's decision. Now that he's completed his Calling, he has the right to choose his next one. And he's chosen to leave the village."
"Yes... I'm going to become a swordsman, I'll hone my skills among the guards in Zakkaria. Then, I'll go to Centoria."
"You're free to leave the village and become a swordsman, if you so wish."
"Thank you."
"I'll get going, then. Farewell, Eugeo, Kirito, Sonic."
"Yes. Goodbye, Mr. Zuberg." Eugeo saying farewell
"Thanks for all your help." Kirito said
"It was nice being here. But it's time for us to continue on." Sonic said
"Selka..."
"I'll miss you."
"Yeah..."
"I won't ask you to promise to come back, so... please be safe." Selka said
"I will. Thank you."
"You both as well, Kirito... Sonic..."
"Eugeo, can I have a moment alone with Selka?" Kirito ask
"What? Yeah, sure. I'll see you out there."
"Sorry about this!"
"I should probably go with Eugeo as well. Don't wanna eavesdrop your conversation." Sonic said
"It's alright Sonic, you can stay here as well. It'll be quick." Kirito said
"Goodbye, Selka." Eugeo said
"...Yeah, Goodbye, Eugeo."
Eugeo walk's away, leaving Kirito and Sonic behind with Selka.
"So, what is it?" Selka ask both Kirito and Sonic
"We just want to apologize for stealing Eugeo." Kirito said
"O-Oh, yea... I would also like to apologize as well for stealing Eugeo away from you." Sonic apologizing
"It's fine... I'm glad, honestly. Eugeo has looked dead on his feet since we lost Alice. But now, thanks to you two, he's smiling again. Plus, he's going to search for my sister, which has my father all grateful. That Eugeo hasn't forgotten Alice, I mean." Selka said
Sonic and Kirito look at each other.
"I see... Well, we better get going. We won't ever make it to Zakkaria if we lose Eugeo now."
"Yeah, I understand... Goodbye. Kirito. Sonic. You don't have to promise to return, but..."
"No. We promise. I promise Eugeo, Sonic, and I will save Alice, and bring her back home."
"No matter what happens. Will do everything in our strength to bring Alice back home."
"Thank you! Also, before you go, I would apologize to you Sonic." Selka said
"Apologize for what?" Sonic asking
"For treating you bad when we first met. I didn't know how to feel talking an animal that is actually kind and friendly. Most animals around here are dangerous for the most part. So I'm sorry for mistreating you badly." Selka apologize
"It's okay, Selka. Don't get too guilty about it. I get that a lot quite often. I'm here to help anyone that needs help. Plus, I'm going to go help Eugeo find your sister and bring her back home to you. So don't worry." Sonic said
Selka smiles and giggles.
*Minutes Later*
Eugeo spots Kirito and Sonic running towards him.
"The wind feels damp. We should make some progress while we still can."
"You're right. Let's get going."
"Our journey awaits."
The three then start walking as they head off to Zakkaria. During their journey towards their next destination, they fend off monsters blocking their path. As they were walking, Kirito suddenly stopped and look around.
"Something wrong?" Eugeo asked
"What's the matter Kirito? Notice something?" Sonic said
"Did you hear something just now? Like, some kind of animal or..."
A roar echo through the sky and all surrounding areas.
"Wow, that was loud." Sonic said
"Oh, I did! And it doesn't sound like it's coming from too far off, either." Eugeo said
"Wanna check it out you two?"
"Sure, why not." Sonic shrug
"Sounds good to me." Eugeo responded
*Somewhere Else*
Somewhere else, a female swordsman with red hair and armor was fighting off hoards of monsters.
"I don't intend to make light of you beasts. However... If you come after me, I'll show you no mercy!"
One of the monsters charged at the female swordsman but was quickly taken down with a single swing. You then slash another monster soon after.
"You think I fear your numbers? How foolish. Your understimate the Sword of Orthianos!"
Seconds later, Kirito appears and slashes one of the monsters. Sonic appears as well and starts running around the area as a huge gust of wind and dirt blew around the female swordsman. Eventually, the gust of wind and dust stopped as the female swordsman notice no monsters around her. She turns and noticed a blue animal stretching like nothing ever happened.
"To easy! Nothing can stop me with my speed!" Sonic said
After stretching, Sonic notices the female swordsman staring at him as he waves at her before running out of sight.
"Who are these people? And who is that blue animal? And he can talk? Is he an enemy or something?" The female swordsman said
"Are you okay?!" Eugeo said
"Of course I am... I do not need your assistance!"
The four had their backs facing each other as more monsters appeared around them.
"No matter how stony you are, numbers like this are dangerous, miss." Kirito said
"Plus, it's better to fight alongside someone anyway." Sonic reappearing
"I'm sorry. He meber listens once he's made up his mind." Eugeo said
"Do as you please, then. But do not ever call me "miss" again."
"What's your name, then?" Kirito said
"Care to tell us?" Sonic said
"I am Medina, one who fights to fulfill another's final wish!"
The four all charged at the monsters around them. The four all start slashing the monsters with their swords. Kirito slashing the monster in the face. Eugeo slashing the monster around its body. Medina slashing all over the monster. Sonic taking advantage of his speed and sword skills, takes down two monsters with super fast sword attacks that the monsters couldn't counter and were completely taken down.
"Is that all you got?" Sonic said
"Sonic! Together!" Kirito shouted
The two jump up in the air, charging up their swords and slashing the monster Kirito was fighting with powerful attacks. Taking the monster down. Medina and Eugeo also charge up their swords and finish the monsters off with powerful attacks. Soon after, all the monsters were defeated. Soon after, the four all put their swords back into their cases."
"You three okay?" Kirito said
"I'm fine." Eugeo said
"I'm doing way better then the last time I fought. With my speed and sword skills, I can take finally take down monsters pretty easy now." Sonic said
"And you, Medina?"
"I feel rather irritated." Medina responded
"What?"
"What do you mean you feel irritated? We all fought and came out victorious." Sonic said
"I never asked you to help me! And I especially feel more irritated with this blue rat after what he did. We're you mocking me on how slow I can run and swing my sword?" Medina looking at Sonic with an annoyed look on her face
"I-I didn't mean to offend to you. I just came and helped you...I thought I was doing you a favor..." Sonic said
"I mean, yeah, but fighting them on your own would've been suicide." Kirito said
Medina has a sad expression on her face on holding her arm.
"Sometimes, such impossible challenges are necessary! How else will I hone my skills? And seeing blue here with super speed and fast sword skills, doesn't make it better." Medina said
"Please don't underestimate yourself Medina. Your a strong person with a good heart and fighting against evil. That's already an achievement you should feel appreciated with." Sonic said
"Then why did you come and take them down yourself then if you knew what I was doing?" Medina said
Sonic rubbed his back as he couldn't come up with an answer.
"You're trying to hone your skills? Does that mean you're also a swordsman." Eugeo said
"Why does it matter?"
"By any chance, are you headinf to Zakkaria?"
"..."
"Looks like you hit the nail on the head, Eugeo." Kirito said
"No one asked for your input!" Medina said
"Since we're heading the same way, we should..."
"There's nothing left to discuss!"
Medina start's walking away from the three.
"What should we do, you two?"
"This road goes to Zakkaria, right? So if we're going the same way anyway..."
"Come on, let's get going." Sonic said
A couple of minutes later, Medina notices the three behind her as she stops and looks at them.
"What about it?"
"So why don't we go to Zakkaria together?"
"I have things I must do, so I can't waste time dallying with the likes of you."
"We feel the exact same way."
"Yeah, we're not inviting you along for the fun of it, I promise. Things could get dicey if you run into another situation like that, right?"
"But if you come with us, we'll all be safer."
"Plus, once we get to Zakkaria, will promise not to bother to you again." Sonic said
"Still..."
"Sure, we have different goals in mind, but let's work together until we hit Zakkaria. Isn't that what's best for all of us?" Kirito said
"...I suppose so. However, I have my conditions."
"Like?"
"Like what blue just said. Don't pry into my affairs, we part once we reach Zakkaria, and stay out of my way. I plan on fighting beats to pratice my swordplay, so don't interfere." Medina said
"Sounds good to me." Sonic said
"Okay, We get it... Just don't overdo it."
"I won't ever take any orders from you, so don't even try."
"We weren't planning on it! Say, why don't we try to be friends?" Kirito said
"Friends, you say?"
"It's great to have you, Medina!" Eugeo said
"I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, Medina." Sonic apologizing
"Who are these people, anyway? It's frustrtaing... But I can't afford to die here. I have things I must do." Medina said
*River Forest*
The sun was starting to set in the distance as the four continue their journey to reach Zakkaria. As they were walking, minding their business, they notice a person in the distance.
"..."
"What's that man doing here?"
Moments later, the man fell toward's the ground. All four of their eyes widen as they saw the person fall.
"Huh? D-Did he just collapse?" Eugeo shock
"We have to help him! Hurry!" Kirito said
"Come on!" Sonic running first to the man
The three all run behind Sonic as well. Sonic slowly picks up the man as Kirito soon helps him get back up as well.
"Are you alright?" Kirito said
"Do you need some help?" Sonic asked
"Oh...Thank you... I haven't had any water in a while." The man said
"What happened to you?" Eugeo said
"I need to get somewhere, no matter what it takes. I knew it would be a long jounrey, but I pushed myself, which made me collapse."
"Where are you going? And why do you have to get there so badly?"
"An abandoned flower field. We make bouquets to mark special occasions."
"What, you wanna give one to somebody?"
"Yes. My daughter is getting married, you see. I wanted to buy one from a merchant, but that's too expensive for a commoner... And so, when I heatd about an abandoned flower field, I decided to visit it." The man said
"Still, it looks like that's out of your reach."
"You're right. I always get like this when it comes to my daugther... I'm a real failure as a parent. My daughter's sure to be angry with me..." The man said
"Whoa there, don't say that to yourself. Your daughter wouldn't think anything bad about you. She know's she has a loving father to look up to." Sonic said
"I'm sure she's worried, but I don't think..."
"Of course you aren't! I'm certain your daughter understands!" Medina said
"Medina."
"You think so? That'd be nice, but..."
"Either way, you should head home." Kirito said
"No, I can't. I can't go back until I find that flower field."
"But..."
"It can't be much further. I'll just pick the flowers and head right home."
"In that case, maybe we can accompany you." Eugeo said
"Don't worry about me. I'm sure you all have places to be. I appreciate the offer, but I wouldn't want to hold you up."
"Alright. Just make sure not to wander off the path."
"Thanks, I won't!" The man said before walking off
"And there he goes, off to find those flowers." Sonic said
"Is he really going to be okay?"
"I feel like we should take him back home."
"We're going to Zakkaria, aren't you?" Medina said
"Yeah, you're right."
"Come on, let's get going." Sonic said
Before they continue on their journey, a young woman came running to them panicking.
"E-Excuse me!"
"Y-Yes!"
"Have you seen a man around here who looks about fifty?" The young woman said
"Could you mean the man we just met?"
"We have? What about him?"
"You seen him?!"
"Y-Yeah, just a little while ago..."
"So he really did go looking for flowers... I told him not to, but Dad never listens!"
"Did you just say..."
"Dad? Then, that makes you..."
"Yes, I'm his daughter. I came out here to look for him. I knew he was heading to the abandoned flower field, so I ran as fast as I could."
"It sounds like the flower field isn't far from here. You'll find him soon." Eugeo said
"I know it's far, but the field is dangerous."
"How?"
"Care to tell us?"
"It's far enough from human settlements that beasts started living there! Some of them are really ferocious, too, but I don't think Dad knows that."
"That's not good! We need to go help him!" Kirito said
"Yeah. If we hurry, we can catch up with him before any beasts attack." Eugeo said
"You cam count on us!" Sonic said
"Oh no, I can't ask peiple I've only just met to do something so dangerous..."
"This should be no problem. We're swordsmen. Plus some extra set of skills." Medina looking at Sonic
"I already apologized okay..." Sonic said
"You're really going to help out, Medina?" Kirito said
"Only to practice my swordsmanship. I'm not like you good samaritans." Medina said
"I see. Thanks, Medina."
"For some reason, that thanks really irritates me..."
"What are we for you three. Let's get moving before it's too late!" Sonic said
"No time to waste! Let's go!"
The five start heading to the flower garden as fast they can. As they ran, they were stopped by multiple enemies. But they quickly took down the enemies with no problem and continue running. For a few minutes of running and taking down more enemies. The five noticed the old man being by surrounded giant wasp-like enemies."
"Yes! We made it in time!" Eugeo said
"Damn, they look tough." Kirito said
"These look really similar to some enemies I fought before." Sonic said
"Never fear. Once I'm through here, there won't be a single beast in sight." Medina said
"What?! What's up with you?!" Kirito said
"You have the misfortune of facing Medina, fiends! Prepare to die!"
The giant Swordstinger Bees all charged at the four of them. Kirito jumps and does a medium attack on one of the bees. Sonic does a homing attack at another bee while spinning his sword as well, dealing good damage to the bee. Eugeo stab's another bee's head as he pushes his sword inside the bee's head and eventually chopping its head off. Medina, using her skill attack quickly takes down the bees with two powerful slashes. Sonic and Kirito both then charge up their swords as they both finish off the rest of the bees with many attacks and leaving slash marks all-around before disappearing. Soon after, the bees disappeared in thin air.
"Great to see us both back in action, Kirito." Sonic said
"It's great to be back as well, pal." Kirito responded
"Oh?! Is that all you've got? Are you unharmed?" Medina said
"Y-Yes. Thanks to you miss."
"Glad to hear it."
"I can't thank you enough. If you didn't show up, I'd be long gone."
"It you must thank someone, thank her."
The man's daughter appears behind him.
"Dad!"
"Wh-What are you doing here?"
"I ran after you because I was worried! I don't know what I'd do without you..."
"I'm sorry. I really am... Thank the goddesses I get to see you again..."
"..."
"Medina."
"Are you alright?"
"I shall head out first."
The two watch as Medina walk's away from them.
"Should we join her, then?" Eugeo said
"Yeah, probably." Kirito said
"Might as well." Sonic said

"I wish the best of luck to you two." Sonic said
"I hope you all reach your destinations!"
"Thanks!"
*Later*
"You've been waiting for us?"
"It was only for a couple minutes." Sonic said
"You would have caught up soo enough. And I did allow you to travel with me. I abide by my decisions, so I won't abandon you until we reach Zakkaria."
"And once we get therw, we have to part ways?" Eugeo said
"That was the deal, yes."
"But you're a swordsman. Won't you compete in Zakkaria's swordfighting tournament?"
"I believe not prying into my affairs was also a part of our deal."
"You're right, I'm sorry."
"Let's get going, then."
The four continue their walk to reach Zakkaria.
"Ugh... This is a pretty long walk. I'm starving and tired."
"It's getting dark out, too." Eugeo said
"Realy? You boys are pathetic. I'm doing just fine." Medina said
"That's Kirito and Eugeo for you. Knowing I'm not human. I don't feel tired at all nor hungry as well." Sonic said
"I mean, I can keep. Eugeo, how much further is it to Zakkaria?"
"Wait, have you seriously not checked the map since we started walking?"
"Nah, I figured I'd be fine, since I have you with us."
"Does that mean we been walking without even knowing where we are even heading?" Sonic said
"The nerve... Well, anyway, it should take another half a day or so of walking."
"You know, Sonic. You can just get to Zakkaria in under a few seconds if you just go there now?" Kirito said
"I rather stay with you guys instead of waiting and not knowing what to do at Zakkaria myself." Sonic replied
"Huh, okay then. Don't you think walking all night might be a little rough, Medina?"
"I can do it. By myself, if need be."
"Wait, isn't it rather of dangerous for a girl to travel alone at night? There might be beasts like the ones from before, for one thing."
"Why are you in such a rush, anyway?"
"I'm not in a rush. I just have things to and places to be." Medina said
"I see. Fine, then let's stop here and make camp for the night."
"Camp? Why?"
"I mean, it's dark out and I'm hungry. We may as well get some rest." Kirito said
"You really just want to eat, don't you? Not thay I'd mind a bite..."
"Figured. Okay, let's use the bread and jerky Selka gave us to make some dinner!" Kirito said
"Man, I can really go for some chili dogs right now. But bread and jerky seems good as well." Sonic said
Kirito takes out his bag and open's it.
"Nice, we have just enough for one more. It's got Selka's special seasioning, too!"
"Hey, I haven't agreed to this yet! I'm not camping with two men and an talking animal I just met!"
"..."
"Come, Medina, just do as I say.."
"No, I could never..." Medina said
Kirito, Sonic, and Eugeo stared at Medina with confusing looks on their faces.
"Uh, Medina?"
"She's right, Kirito! You really need to be more thoughtful around girls!" Eugeo said
"She can just sleep on the other side of our campsite,right?"
"I ain't sleeping right close to you two. No way." Sonic said
"I'm leaving."
"But why?!"
"Because I want to! I have no reason to stay with you lot!"
"..."
"A-Are you okay? You're not tired from the fight earlier, right?"
"Hold on a second, I'll fo get some water!" Kirito before running off
"Ugh...
"Medina, are you really okay? You had the same expression twice already." Sonic said
"Y-Yea... I'm fine."
Moments later, Kirito return's with some water.
"Here, Medina, have some water."
"Okay. Thank you."
"Wow, you're thanking Mr? Can't say I saw that coming."
"Don't be absurd. That would shame my father. And I would never do that." Medina said
"Oh, I see. Your father must be someone real special." Kirito said
"Yes. He was a great man."
"Listin, I really do think you should get some rest, Medina." Kirito begged
"Your concern is unnecasry. You three can do as you please, but so will I."
"What's the point of pushing forward? If pu're not careful, beasts could get you."
"Ugh... You're so irritating."
"that's Kirito for you. Won't give up until the person gives in." Sonic said
"Now, Should I start making some dinner for you too, rthwen"?
"I'll set up a tent with a cloth we have. You can sleep in there. We'll just wrap ourselves in blankets and sleep out here."
"Wow, you're such a gentleman, Eugeo. Good idea!"
"You two do that, I'll just find a place I feel more comfortable to sleep at." Sonic said
"Hey, I still haven't agreed to camp with you."
"Mind slicing the bread, Eugeo?" Kirito said
"Don't ignore me!"
"Haha, sorry, but I think you should just play along at this point." Eugeo said
"Hmph... What an irritatting pair."
"I'll try making that dish Selka showed me. What was in it again? I need Bone-in Meat, Treecon, Evetater, and Sweetshroom. The Bone-in Meat can be rabbit or bird. I saw Treedon and Sweetshroom on the way. I'll check around the hill trees and then cook all the ingredients at a bonfire." Kirito said
"Why don't you sit this one out, Kirito and I'll handle the ingredients." Sonic said
"Your going alone?"
"Hey, it'll be quick."
"So you're allowed to walk out all alone while I'm being told to stay here?" Medina said in an annoyed expression
"Like, I said it'll be quick." Sonic responded
Sonic and takes out his sword from its case.
"I'll be right back."
Sonic then runs away in a blink of an eye and all the three can hear are sounds of battle cries coming from Sonic, the sound of a sword-swinging and contacting with enemies, and roars echoing around the forest.
"Will Sonic return okay?" Eugeo said
"Definitely, no monster has ever overcome Sonic with his speed and the movement of his sword. Even during duels, it's impossible to lay a finger on Sonic. Only a few have managed, but overall. It's difficult to face with a fast opponent that knows many skill moves and tricks." Kirito said
"I'll face him one day and show him who's the better swordsman. I don't care if he has speed as his advantage, I will certainly defeat him." Medina said
"Haha, I'll love to see that duel." Eugeo said
A couple of minutes later, Sonic return's to the campsite with no scratch on his body as he puts his sword back in its case.
"So how did it go?" Kirito said
"Pretty cool, I manage to learn a few new tricks as well. The monsters were no match for a Hedgehog like me." Sonic said
"Did you bring the ingredients?" Eugeo asked
"I sure did."
Sonic opens his inventory and takes out a bag full of the ingredients they needed to cook.
"Wow, you brought more then we actually needed." Kirito said
"What can I say? You have to prepare for situations like this and always be ready." Sonic said
Kirito then starts making the dish for the four of them. Later, the four all ate the dish that Selka gave Kirito to make.
"Man, that sure hits get spot. Selka's special seasoning is the best." Kirito said
"Even though I prefer my favorite food. This is also pretty good as well." sonic said
"We can't rely on it for much longer, though. And it's all thanks to someone's huge appetite." Eugeo said
"Hm... Looks like it's time to raise my cooking skill."
"Did you say something, Kirito?"
"Nope, nothing at all!"
"Not that it matters, but who is this "Selka"?" Medina said
"My friend's younger sister. She's earnest, kind, and a great cook." Eugeo said
"Mostly kind." Sonic said
"I see..."
"Is something wrong?"
"I doubt we'll ever meet again after we reach Zakkaria. So please tell her I found this delicious."
"Got it. I'll make sure I do"
"So, where are you from, Medina?"
"Do you always jump into the middle of conversations with wild tangents?" Medina said
"I mean, isn't that a normal question? Your stuff looks different from what I've seen."
"That's for me to know, and you to never find out."
"See, now I'm even more curious."
"Argh... You are such a profoundly irritating man! Why does it matter where I come from? We won't be traveling together for much longer anyway." Medina annoyed
"Fine, I won't pry, then."
"Ugh..."
Later...
"Good night, Medina."
"Eugeo, do we have anything to use as pillows?"
"Not really. why not just use your bag?" Eugeo said
"Seriously? That Gigas Cedar branch is in there. It'll stab my head in my sleep." Kirito said
"Stop whining and go to sleep!" Medina said
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Good night for real this time, Medina. Wait, where's Sonic?" Eugeo said
"He's sleeping up there." Kirito pointing at a tree
Eugeo look's up and notices Sonic sitting on top of a tree branch while looking at the distance and the night sky.
"He says he prefers to sleep with the sky." Kirito said
"I see. Let's hope he doesn't fall down." Eugeo said
The two then walk away from Medina.
"I can't believe I'm actually camping with such incredibly irritating people. I planned to traverse this path alone, beginning to end... If I'm going to reclaim what we've lost, I have to..."
"Whew. You're so strong, Father. At this rate, I'll never defeat you."
"As long as your heart is strong and just, you have nothing to be ashamed of."
"I hate you, Father! I never asked to be born an Orthinaos defect!"
You may be right."
"Oh, Miss Medina. Our condolences."
"He must have spent wastefully. That's the only possible explanation."
"That should conclude our farewells to Lord Orthinaos."
"Father... Father!"
"I am Medina Orthinaos. I shall take up your sword, become an Integrity Knight, and clear our name."
"Medina! Hey, Medina!" Kirito said
"Mm..."
Medina slowly wakes up and notices Kirito, Eugeo, and Sonic right in front of her.
"Are you okay? It looked like you were having an awful nightmare."
"Oh, it's nothing."
"You're sure? You broke out in a cold sweat." Eugeo said
"It was just a dream."
"Well, at least you awake now." Sonic said
Medina pick's up to her equipment.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting. We should get moving soon."
"What? But we need to have breakfast first!" Medina said
"Why are you so obsessed with food?"
"Ow... Someone decided to use my arm as a pillow, so it's sore all over." Eugeo said
"Sorry, but we didn't have any pillows. I really had no choice!"
"That doesn't make it okay!"
"Unbelievable..."
"This is just an example of how Kirito is. You have more to know about him." Sonic said
"Tell me about it." Medina said
Later...
"Okay, I'm good to go!" Kirito said
"We're just about almost there to our destination." Sonic said
"You okay, Medina?"
"why do you ask?"
"You're acting a little different this morning."
"I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about."
"Okay. That's good, then." Eugeo before walking away
"..."
"We're off to Zakkaria!"
"At this rate, I think we'll reach Zakkaria before nightall."
"Come on, let's get going." Sonic said
The four soon start walking as they make their way to Zakkaria.
