Hello, readers!

I hope you are ready for this chapter, since it is going to get a little crazy. This is the last chapter for Omisha right now before I switch over to Alya Light.

I wanted to say that in this oneshot collection, what is canon is a little weird. So let me sum it up. This goes as well for the companion book. Any backstory or events that happened to a character before they got to Earth is canon. So Bunny, Pitch, Sandman, etc. all have canon backstories at less up to the point the got to Earth. Anything that happened on Earth is not canon. If a piece of information is in some case canon then it will be mentioned at the top or would have been done unintentionally. If you have any questions about this just ask and I will make sure to answer.

This chapter will contain the guardians so for safety reasons…

Disclaimer: I do not own Rise of the Guardians or Guardians of Childhood. The creators of both of those own them. I only own my OCs and my storyline I create. Hence, I do not own RoTG or Guardians of Childhood.

Now please enjoy!

A Lantern to Light the Way

Part 2 of Death Arc

(North)

The Guardians were all sitting in a large room. North had managed with the help of his elves, a group of yetis they befriended, and the rest of the guardians to build. They were calling it the North Pole.

Bunny was sitting by the fire trying to keep warm. Sandy was dozing off standing off by a pole with a cup of eggnog in his hand. Tooth was fluttering around not quite about to stay still. And North was busy taking innovatory of all the kids in the world checking it against the giant global in the middle of the room.

They were each chosen to represent something that was important to the children and the world.

Sandy represented Good Dreams.

Tooth represented Memories.

Bunny represented Hope and New Beginnings.

And he North represented Wonder and Magic.

They had the job to spread what they represented to the children. They just had to figure out how to.

North noticed a beam of light and turned towards it.

He looked up at the skylight we had built so that MiM would be able to talk to us.

The moon beam shines through and hits directly onto the middle of the Guardian's tile making a blue crystal rise.

"What is he doing?" Tooth asks curious.

We all gather round the crystal.

"I believe Manny has decided to choose a new Guardian."

"I have Guardians," MiM's voice sounds out in the room. "A new Guardian will be joining you today."

The light in the crystal resolves showing a person that I have no idea who they are. We all peer at the e person trying to figure out just who this being is.

"They don't look that friendly. Manny are you sure they are supposed to be Guardian. They look like they will cause more harm than help," Bunny comments.

"Their looks are based off there history and how the people perceive them. Just like all of your looks."

"But where can we find this spirit. They could be anywhere I don't even recognize them."

"You will be able to find them in the town of Hanshire."

MiM's moonbeams recede and the Guardians all look at each other.

"Well, what are we waiting for. To the sleigh," North exclaims heading off with the Guardians close behind to his magnificent sleigh.

(Time Skip till they get to the village)

They parked the sleigh off in a small field a little ways away from the village.

As they made their way to the village everything was eerily quiet all they could hear were each other's breathing and footprints.

They were all on edge. They did not wanted to scare this spirit, but they decided it would probably be safest to have their weapons out just in case something happened.

As the were almost to the village they noticed shadows seemed thick in areas they should not be.

"You don't think Pitch could be here too? Could he?" Tooth asked as they could see the village lights.

"Hopefully not. A fight with Pitch in the middle of the night in a village with a spirit to worry about will not go good." North replied back.

They walked into the village when they noticed something laying on the ground next to a sign with the village's name.

Tooth gasped when she say the person. "Are they dead?"

Bunny walked closer to the person. "Does not look like their breath. And what little skin I see is too pale for them to be alive. I assume they have been dead for at least an hour or two."

"Poor thing, to die alone in the middle of the night," Tooth sighed as they all continued into the village. "Maybe we should we move them or find a person in the village and wake them up so they can deal with the body before an animal gets to them."

"That is sweet, but it is best to leave them where they are. Disease is common during these times. We would not want to risk spreading it to someone or causing their family not to be able to find them."

Tooth nods and they continue to all walk, but then they realize the spirit they are looking for is nowhere in sight.

"Do you think Manny gave us the wrong village? There is no spirit here." Bunny asks.

It was true no spirit could make zero noise and the town was utter silence.

"Go back to your master shadows. Before I have to send you back myself."

They all turn around eyes widening in shock at the person standing behind them with a dagger in each hand pointed straight at the Guardians.

(Omisha)

Omisha's eyes flickered open. Leaves lay above her head, her back on the dirty, grassy ground.

She lays there in silent for a few moments when the last hour of her life came flooding back into her mind.

She shouldn't be alive, but yet she was. Excepts she felt her chest. There was no heartbeat, but then as she thought about it one appeared. She let out a harsh breath that she did not realize that she had been holding. A breath that she had been holding for longer than possible.

She looked around astonished not knowing what was going on when a moonbeam shines down on her.

She looked up at the moon as a voice started speaking to her.

"Omisha, keeper of Limbo. You are the Spirit of Passing and the Afterlife. You are a special type of Spirit. Why that is, is for you to find out on your own for I cannot tell you that yet. But I must tell you. You must never tell anyone you are Keeper of Limbo until someone finds you in your home and teaches you a lesson you had long since forgotten. Till then your lantern will light you way. As long as it is lit you will be safe from the darkness inside you."

"Thank you sir. I will make sure not to tell anyone what you told me not to. Is it find if I go back there and continue protecting? I made a promise to always protect it."

"That is fine Omisha, but soon I will need you to help some spirits. And also because you are a spirit no mortal will likely be able to see you without believing in you first."

"That is fine, even if I am never believed in. I will never stop protecting those I care about."

"You are a caring person Omisha never forget that. Now you best get going. I have a task I have to see to now."

"Thank you." Omisha started off back to the village. When she got there, she looked around for a few minutes before deciding to sit by the sign at the entrance to the village.

She had just sat down when she heard footsteps coming towards the village. Not knowing what these beings were she decided to close her eyes and try to be as still as possible hoping if the beings could see her, they would walk right by.

She hears voices speaking but can't quite make out what they were saying due to the fact that they were all whispering.

Though once the voices faded and she hears them walk past Omisha's eyes crack open. She slowly stands up trying to make as little noise as possible. She slips across the ground until she is standing right behind them.

There are 4 beings standing in front of her. One that looks like a giant rabbit, one that looks that a hummingbird times human cross, a short man made out of sand, and a huge man dressed in red and has a long white beard.

Omisha's hands flick to her daggers that are attached to a belt on her waist. She slips them into her hands holding them out towards these folk. She has no idea if these people are good or bad.

She hears the giant rabbit creature thingy start to say something. "Do you think Manny gave us the wrong village? There is no spirit here."

Manny? Whoever that was told them where she was. They were looking for her, but no one should know her she is. After all she just became a spirit. The only people who should know of her existence is the man who spoke to her after she became a spirit...

And the shadow creatures that attacked. They were still lurking around even if they were not going near her and they were far less in numbers.

She steps forward standing straighter and stronger still keeping her blades in front of her.

She knew it would be better to confront them now rather then wait for them to realize she was there and attack her. She takes a deep breath building up the confidence she will need.

"Go back to your master, shadows. Before I have to send you back myself," she calls out as the group spins around to face her all of their eyes wide and surprised.

A/N: I know you all are probably done with these notes in the chapter, but I realized I did not mention any chapters whose titles have an asterisk (*) means they are chapters that are not related to the main storyline and are there just for humor and extra information if you want them.

There is also going to be a third part to the arc, but I will do the two Alya chapters first before posting the third part.
