Disclaimer: I do not own Princess Zelda, Prince Sidon or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Fun. Sana is MY O.C.

A/N: Chapter here guys so let's make this first one count aye? Also stupid title is stupid lol. (Small note I botch the lore of BotW sorry about that. Um also I dunno if the Divine Beasts predate everything or if the calamity ganon thing happened exactly 10k years ago or if it was another.. I dunno what I do know is that 10,000 years is a long time. I'll let you make your own assumptions on this guys, so um yeah. Oh but I fixed the line Ghirahim had used so yeah.)

The Princess and the Desert Rose

Yiga This, My Dude!

Ghirahim frowned, they had been on the road all the day before and most of today but something was off about today. He had noticed far fewer traveler's lately except for the lone traveler heading in their direction. Mikael was safe in his mother's arms but he if he needed to, he could send a copy of himself to protect the little one. He dismounted as the traveler stopped before him, he was smirking as though he thought of himself as sly as a fox.

"Evening fellow traveler's" he said. "Might I trouble you for a moment of your time?"

"Sure why not?" Sana replied, foolishly. Ghirahim already knew what this Yiga clan member was up to.

"Oh thank the goddess, could you direct me to the Gerudo Desert by chance?" he asked.

"Oh yeah we.." Sana began.

"You know very well, where the desert is located," Ghirahim interrupted.

"Heh, nothing gets by you does it? Lord Ghirahim," The male replied. He took no time to transform into a Yiga Clan member, revealing his true self before striking at Sana. Ghirahim was faster, easily parrying the blade with one of his own and saving the Zora from a rather nasty wound. With the initial shock over Sana charged past him with her spear, clearly quite angry at being deceived. Ghirahim decided it was better to stay out of it, lest he be on the receiving end of her fury. It was quite comical, when she cleanly knocked the Yiga member flat onto his rump. Of course, he then made his escape before Ghirahim could stop him, he cursed briefly at the missed opportunity.

"You knew he was Yiga Clan didn't you?" Sana yelled, rounding on him.

"Of course I did," Ghirahim replied. "Had you not so quickly volunteered our time, I would have told you so. Yiga clan members are tricky and hide out in plain sight as everyday citizens, when they clearly are not. You would do well to remember that." She seemed taken aback by his rant. "I am not here to babysit you, so act like a warrior and remain on guard. Your first hint, to something not being right, is if I dismount to begin with."

"Got it," She grumbled, before mounting. Ghirahim mounted without another word, it was time to continue and hopefully not run into a second member of the Yiga Clan. He nearly breathed a sigh with relief, as the rest of their journey seemed to go pretty smoothly and they passed by some actual travelers including a woman and her pack mule. They only stopped at night to make a fire amongst a few fellow travelers who happened to stop at the same place. None were Yiga Clan members, he was very familiar with all of them. Yiga clan members had a very distinctive smell, thanks to their main diet of Mighty Bananas. "Any here?"

"No, if there were the air would be ripe from their stench," Ghirahim replied, his tone even. He was watching the road away from the camp, though he did find it odd she had followed him.

"You can tell by their smell?" Sana asked.

"Yes I can," Ghirahim answered, mildly annoyed. "Shouldn't you be trying to rest along with the rein.. Princess?" He had almost called Zelda the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia but stopped himself. Sana, nay none of the current dwellers of this world would even remember Hylia. It would be pointless to mention it.

"What were you going to say..?" Sana asked sounding genuinely curious. He sighed, he should have just called her princess from the start but now it was too late.

"Do you know the legend of the Goddess Hylia?" Ghirahim questioned.

"No, I don't to be honest," Sana replied.

"Well then it would be pointless to tell you that Zelda is her reincarnation," Ghirahim responded. "Besides the Goddess Hylia died many eons ago, when my original Master Demise terrorized your world. Something inside of me also says that the events that happened here are also not over quite yet. Something is preventing a normal state of things, occurrences. Something is keeping Demise from reincarnating."

"You think the Calamity might return?" Sana asked.

"Yes," Ghirahim replied simply. "It's just a gut feeling but I can't shake it, even though I am no longer his sword, I still feel his evil. I feel it the closer we get to.. no the farther we travel along this path, the closer we are becoming to the darkness."

"Ominous," Sana whispered. "Well, if he comes I will face him." Ghirahim glared at her, she was foolish if she thought that she would be enough to bring down Demise.

"Your plan is folly," He admonished. "Only the hero, wielding the Sword that Seals the Darkness can take on my old master. I once underestimated that very same hero, I will not do so with one I worked so closely with."

"Folly?" Sana asked.

"Foolish," Ghirahim offered.

"I am not foolish, I am a zora warrior and.." Sana began to argue.

"I'm sure you are quite capable in your own right," Ghirahim replied. "But I have seen my master kill hundreds of well trained, well armed soldiers from all races. I have seen him slaughter many an innocents, just to capture one Goddess. Which, mind you, he failed to do because of Link. Though the Link of this world is indeed different, he shares the same soul and carries the same weapon."

"He's powerful then?" She asked. He nodded grimly, if they had to face his previous master then prioritizes would change. "Fine, then you and Zelda escape with Mikael, I'm certain I could give you enough time to flee if we do have to face him."

"Tch, do not be so quick to end your life," Ghirahim replied. "I will simply attempt to teleport all of you to safety before joining you. It's not safe enough to do with this many traveling together over a great distance or I would do nothing else but if we have our backs to a wall, it would be better to chance it."

"Huh, teleporting? Any other random tricks you have up your sleeve?" Sana asked. "Speaking of tricks where did that sword go that you had?"

"I don't keep my sword in hand all the time," Ghirahim replied. "It's a part of me, to say the least." She looked oddly confused. "I'm a demon sword, that means I am a weapon yes?"

"Oh, how are you," She motioned to all of him.

"Demonic magic allows me to have this alluring figure, of course," Ghirahim teased. Sana looked rather unamused by his antics but that didn't bother him in the slightest. Honestly he could play for either team and had been playing for the male team for many years, considering. "Either way that is how it is, I was born in essence as a Demon and forged into a weapon for my former master. Ex master? Regardless that is about all there is to know about my circumstance."

"What would happen if you didn't have a master?" Sana asked.

"I would wither and die I suppose," Ghirahim responded. "Though, technically I had been without a master for nearly a thousand years, maybe I would just slowly go insane instead. Rust a little, warp from improper care, all in all I'm really not certain."

"Wait you were only without a master for a millennium?" Sana asked.

"Yes, give or take," Ghirahim replied.

"But your original master died eons ago," Sana mused.

"Just because he died, does not mean he gave up his hold over me," Ghirahim mentioned. "He was reborn as well and I was still under his will up until a thousand years ago when I was finally released. As you know ten-thousand years ago came the first calamity, then one-hundred two years ago the second. In ten-thousand years from now will probably play out another great calamity or possibly even sooner, if we find no way to end it permanently." Finally the woman was silent and stayed that way for many moments, it was blessed peace and quiet. "You should go and get some rest, I will wake you if I need a replacement." Not that he would need one but he might just wake her anyway, he only planned to do so because it would build rapport.

After all, having a good friendly relationship with those who would be around his master, would be beneficial to him as well. Of course he knew the women would never trust him, he knew because of his history with Hylia that he would never be accepted either. Not that that mattered, so long as he remained with his current master. He sighed as she finally made her way back to the campsite, at least she didn't need further encouragement. Another suspicious traveler was coming down the road, Sana was back at the camp but that was fine.

"No closer," he said when he was certain the female could hear him.

"Aw, come on Lord Ghirahim," She said. "Aren't we friends? We can take the boy together if you like, take him all the way back to base."

"Not happening," Ghirahim replied.

"Really? Why not?" She asked, suddenly angry.

"He is my master and I will not disobey his orders," Ghirahim answered.

"Tch, fine," the female said. "I guess I will have to report this, unless of course you plan to look the other way?"

"Also no," Ghirahim replied. "If you try to take him I will have to kill you." He grinned at her, her expression told him just how much she feared him. She suddenly disappeared in puff and talismans, he could feel her aura making a quick getaway however. "No fun, no fun at all." He shrugged but remained on watch, he couldn't for a moment let his guard down not even once. It was a little past midnight when he woke Sana and pretended to sleep, while instead keeping an eye on his surroundings with his magic.
