Chapter 2 – Sirius Black and Harry Peverell

The morning light invaded the room illuminating the shadows on the dark corners that the room still had before the sunrise. The light hit a boy laying on a big bed as he slept peacefully, although the light was enough to make him groan.

Tom Marvolo Riddle's eyes opened slowly as the laziness and soreness of his eyes made it difficult for him to wake up from his slumber. It was not he was tired rather it could be called overwhelmed. As he finally adjusted to the light coming from the window, he looked around to see a fancy and big room, his fancy and big room. A feeling of satisfaction passed through his body as he realized e was not sleeping in the orphanage's room anymore, that filthy and noise bed, with those pests that annoyed him.

Yawning and stretching still in bed Tom gave a last glance around the room before moving to his private bathroom, yes Tom had a private bathroom now and he could not stop smirking widely at the thought, he finally had privacy. As he completed the morning procedure, he exited the bathroom only to jump in place a little frightened. Standing in his room near the door was one of the house-elfs, Komky was her name if remembered correctly.

"New master Tomsys, big master Harrysis ask me to wake you, please follow Komky." The elf opened the door not waiting for an answer and started walking through the halls of his new home.

Tom sighing in relief, he still had to get accustomed to these little ugly things popping out of nowhere. But nonetheless he started to follow the she-elf. As he walked, he yawned again absentmindedly, but like was said earlier he was not tired but overwhelmed by everything he saw and learned in the previous day.

Flashback:

After his adopted father exited the room followed soon after by the Lady Peverell and the bodyguard Heloise, the rest of the family stood in an awkward silence, until the older woman Agate broke it with a huff towards miss Nagini.

"C'mon girl, you have been designed for a task. While you take young Tom to a tour make sure you keep an eye on Lady Phoebe, I will put down Lady Elladora on her crib then I shall find you later." She then glanced at the baby smiling softly.

Nagini squeaked shyly before turning towards Tom, but before she could say anything the oldest of Harry's daughters, Lyllian, came forward. "Follow me Tom, I shall lead you in this tour."

Tom gave Nagini a apologetic look and she shook her head indicating all was fine. As Lyllian exited the room, Tom followed gingerly after her with Nagini at his side. When they stepped on the hallway a voice came calling after them.

"Wait for meee." Tom glanced towards the voice to spot another of Harry's daughters, Phoebe.

As the voice reached their ears, Lyllian suddenly stopped on her tracks and turned to Phoebe and scowled. "Behave yourself Phoebe, we are in the presence of a guest."

"But sis, he's our brother now." Phoebe whined.

"As it may be, but it doesn't excuse your poor childish behavior. You are a daughter of the House of Peverell, so you should act like it." The older siter scolded.

Groaning and pouting cutely the other girl crossed her little arms and harumphed at her sister. "I don't want to."

Lyllian's eye twitched, her perfect expressionless face now turning into anger and annoyance. "I'm ordering you Phoebe Peverell, as our father declared me the heir of this House and so you should follow my order when we aren't in the presence of our father."

"No, don't want to." The other girl harumphed again.

Tom now could see anger swell from Lyllian. "You are a petulant and disobedient child Phoebe, you will behave as a proper lady of this house or…" She never finished her ranting.

"My Lady? Please, let us continue our tour." Nagini interrupted a little exasperate while Tom sweat dropped with a simple thought 'we didn't even started yet'.

Lyllian immediately composed herself, her face returning to it's usual, as she held her head high and huffed a little. "Yes, you are correct Nagini, my apologies. I was unfortunately caught in my sister's childish behavior." She then glanced at Tom and motioned for him to follow her.

As he went on his tour, he could grasp a little more on his three companions. Lyllian was clearly the authority between the three, even the older woman referred as polite as she could towards the girl. As Lyllian led the way she started talking about the manor, when she was built, the ancestors of the house and the type of magic it contained. He then asked about them first because beyond the name he knew nothing more.

Lyllian again introduced herself formally saying all her titles that let him in awe again. But he also confirmed his earlier statement she was indeed a genius for her age, she only was five years old being the oldest of three sisters. Phoebe was three and the baby complete one some months ago.

As for Nagini he learned she was not a witch but a Maledictus, she briefly explained that she turned into a giant snake not giving him too many details, she also said that she came into Lord Peverell's service not to long ago, as he helped her greatly. Basically, she worked as a handmaiden for the girls and Lady Peverell. Tom found himself very interested in the young woman.

When he reached the library he could feel two things excitement, and happiness. This was paradise for Tom, it was not big nor small, although had a good size for him to spend hours choosing what book to read first. Lyllian only asked him to return the books to its proper place or ask an elf do it when he finishes to read.

The next place of relevance was his own room it stood near the others and he gasped when he saw how big and beautiful it was, the bed made him lightheaded when he imagined sleeping in bad that wasn't from the orphanage.

Next was the garden, flowers and plants from different kinds gave the house a colorful mood, it was not only beautiful but the smell was refreshing and relaxing, there was also what Lyllian called their private Quiddich arena, she briefly explained it was a game that wizards and witches played while riding on a broom.

Next was the grove, they walked into the trees to see different kind of birds and some small animals, but the unicorn that Harry informed him it existed, has yet to be seen.

As they returned to the manor for quick refreshments, Tom glanced at the now, two women and two girls as Agate joined them earlier, with him and looked at Lylli pondering. "Lady Peverell mentioned rules, what are they?"

Lyllian who was elegantly sipping on her tea glanced up at him. The first rules where about etiquette, what was expect from the behavior of all denizens. Lyllian also commented that even if Harry didn't mind their behavior, Lady Peverell was adamant and insistent on it, she also said that Phoebe gets a lot in trouble with their mother.

But then there was a pause, before she sipped again from her cup and put down on the table. Folding her little arms on her lap she stared at him dead in the eyes. "In this manor also, there are two forbidden places we are prohibited to enter. The first one is the master bedroom, is the private quarters of the Lord and Lady of this house, the only ones allowed to enter without permission is of course the Lord and Lady themselves." Tom nodded. He understood the need of privacy.

Bu then there was another pause he looked around to see Phoebe not even paying attention as she munched on a biscuit, but the other two women were looking at Lyllian as she was a high authority, there was clearly respect in their demeanor as they listened intently as the girl talked.

"Then there is my father's private chamber. It is extremally forbidden to enter there even the Lady is forbidden to do so. Of course, the door is kept locked and you can identify it by a symbol that is carved on the door. One day Nagini tried to enter and she was severely scolded by Lord Peverell, even though it was her first time on this house and the rules where not yet explained to her." Tom looked at Nagini who nodded in a sulking manner. "And believe me I never saw my father so angry." Lyllian finished grabbing the cup and sipping again.

Tom stood silent for a minute and nodded. "I understand." Rules were not new for Tom he had to follow a lot of them while in the orphanage, and to say the truth one was more ridiculous than another, so he could easily follow the Peverell rules as they only asked for a specific kind of behavior and to not enter through a door. It was simple enough.

Soon they went for dinner but unfortunately Harry could not participate on the dinner as Lady Peverell informed he was too busy, and they should eat without him. The dinner presented different dishes one better than another, but it was an awkward night as only Phoebe talked while they where dining and Lady Peverell kept staring at him with narrowed seemingly appraising eyes at him. It was an awkward night indeed.

Flashback end:

Soon Komky led him to a room especially for breakfast, yes, the manor had rooms for specific things from dinner to breakfast to simple refreshments. Tom was sure he would take some time to get used to layout of the manor, until then he would have to call the elves.

As he stood at the door, he saw Harry sitting on the head of the big table that stood in the middle of the room. The table was filled with dishes that seemed all deliciously good.

Looking more closely at the black-haired man sitting at the head of the table he could see he was tired and stressed, he was currently looking at a newspaper who pictures moved. In the man's left Lady Peverell sat smiling at the baby at her side while she helped her to eat. At Harry's right side sat Lyllian graciously while waiting, beside her sat Phoebe looking bored and hungry while she whined to her sister who ignored her with proficiency.

Beside Phoebe there was an empty chair who Tom could guess it was for him. Beside his supposed place sat Nagini who was chatting with the girl sitting in front of her, Heloise.

Between the baby and Heloise stood Agate as she sat scolding Phoebe lightly. In Tom's eyes it was the first time he saw this image in front of him, it brought warmth and happiness to his being, unnoticeable for him a smile appeared on his face.

As Tom stood there watching the family waiting for him, Harry raised his head spotting Tom stand there smiling. "Ah, good morning Tom." Harry smiled

Tom shook himself and bowed slightly to the family. "Good morning everyone… I apologize for arriving late."

"Don't worry Tom. I asked you to not be bothered as I saw you were tired, and who can deny a soft bed like yours." Harry assured him with a chuckle.

Tom walked towards the chair between Phoebe and Nagini and sat down while shaking his head. "Even so I apologize to kept you all waiting."

Harry just smiled as everyone started to service themselves. He even heard lady Peverell harsh voice. "Phoebe, manners."

Tom saw Harry snicker a little at Phoebe's predicament. As they eat harry gain glanced at Tom and sighed. "Tom… I want to apologize for my poor behavior and absence yesterday, it was very rude of me not be present in the supper to celebrate your addition to the family."

Tom smiled inwardly at his apologies. "It's really alright s… Harry, I had a good time with the ladies. I really liked your library though." Tom smirked and Harry grinned happily.

"I'm glad you liked. But today as promised I will spend time with you today. So, eat well, because we will have a busy day ahead of us. As soon as we finish breakfast, you will see firsthand what magic is possible." Then Harry turned to Heloise. "A duel between Heloise and I, of course we will demonstrate all spells we can for you to see and understand everything."

Tom nodded in understanding as he saw Harry show him a wand. Lyllian also explained that wizard and witches had to use wands to cast spells and use magic in general few cases the wand was not needed. Tom asked for her to show one, but she informed him she wasn't in the age to have one, they only received one when they were eleven years of age, before going to Hogwarts, who she also explained in details about the big castle in Scotland.

"I assume you know what a wand is for?" Harry asked and Tom nodded. "Alright, do you also know every wizard and witch, has a specific wand?" This Lyllian did not told him. "Yes, it's the wand that will choose you Tom, so when you are in age to have one, we will take to a specific store where they sell wands, and there the wand shall choose you." Tom nodded interested in the information that was being shared with him, Harry also explained that every wand was made by different kind of materials and every material added some characteristic to the wand.

The rest of the breakfast was held by light conversations, when they were finishing Lyllian called for Harry's attention. "Excuse me father but could I please accompany you and watch your duel with Heloise?"

Harry opened his mouth, but Lady Peverell spoke first with a scowl on her face. "Lyllian, you shall start with your studies…" But she did not finish.

"Lycoris, it's alright, she can study later. I won't take more than one hour, and I think it's good for Lylli to see a real duel already." Harry spoke to his wife with a tired smile on his face.

Tom saw she did not like the idea but when she glanced at Harry's eyes, apparently, she melted down and relented while giving him a beautiful and shy smile. "As you wish, my love." For a minute she stared and Harry before turning to Lyllian with a more composed smile, but still her voice was one of authority. "Lyllian you have permission of your father to accompany him, but after the duel you shall start with your studies, understood?"

The girl straightened herself giving her father an almost unnoticeable smile before answering her mother. "Yes, mother. And thank you father."

"Can I go too?" Phoebe asked suddenly with a big smile.

"No." An immediate answer from Lady Peverell made the little girl shrink in place. "When you start taking your tasks seriously, you shall have more liberty to attend to your father's training sessions." Lady Peverell's scowl returned to her face as she glared at Phoebe scoldingly. "Do you understand Phoebe Peverell?"

"Yes mother." She said quietly while munching her food slowly.

"Manners Phoebe… You're impossible, little lady." Lady Peverell huffed indignantly, but Tom could see two smirks on the table, one was from Phoebe and the other was from Harry, fortunately Lady Peverell didn't seem to catch them.

After the breakfast Harry led Tom to a big and spacious room, that had nothing in it was like a sports court, he could even hear their voices echo through the room. When they arrived the first thing Harry did was show them some simple spells like levitate objects or simple transform an object in other what he called transfiguration.

And the first time Tom found himself entranced by something. It was like love at first sight. He found wonderful see magic do wonders and he know that whatever Harry was showing him was still the base of the mountain.

Then the training session started, and Harry and Heloise started dueling, sparks flied from Tom eyes, it was incredible, he couldn't look away from their duel. Harry didn't seem putting to much effort at the dueling, but the girl moved back and forth quickly casting spells that let Tom amazed.

As they dueled Harry commented on what he and Heloise were doing, as well correcting her wrong doings, Heloise for fer part listened intently and continued to move trying to correct her mistakes. Tom could tell the girl was very dedicated and hardworking, every word coming from Harry's mouth she kept a keen ear for it, and it wasn't only her tom and Lyllian who stood beside him stared at the man with conviction in their eyes.

Forty minutes later Heloise was sitting on the ground breathing heavily, Harry smiled kindly at the girl praising her for the improvement on her skills, and she smiled back bowing in respect.

"That was incredible." Tom commented while staring at the pair standing in the middle of the room.

"You saw nothing yet." Lyllian said making his head snap towards her, he almost forgot she was there.

"What do you mean?" Tom asked.

A small smile appeared on her expressionless face, the difference from the other smiles he saw was this smile was very visible. "When I was four, I saw father duel with grandfather, and it was… breathtaking. I couldn't stop staring at it. It was almost like they were dancing. It was beautiful." She finished with a look of longing.

Tom wished he could've seen it, the way she described it let him hoping he saw something like that one day.

"Did you like it, Tom?" Harry's voice broke him of his thoughts. "Of our little duel I mean."

Tom nodded but then smirked. "I wouldn't say duel."

Harry raised his eyebrows. "And why's that?"

"Well, you clearly didn't put an effort on this… duel, as you call it." Tom chuckled at his expression.

Harry opened his mouth, but the breathless voice of Heloise cut him down. "He's right my Lord, this can't even be called a duel, more of an ass kicking." She finished with a grin.

Harry frowned a little and glanced at Heloise. "Don't sell yourself to short Heloise, you clearly have potential, and I can say you are a powerful and frightening witch." Harry exclaimed.

"No offense my Lord, but compared to you I'm nothing but a toddler." She sighed in disappointment.

"Well, I find you a great witch, you just need to practice some spells and try use more your shields that you will be fine. Creativity, remember that." Harry instructed.

She then rose to her feet and bowed. "I will refresh myself, thank you for the session m'Lord." She then left.

Lyllian was next, she rose to her feet and bowed in curtesy. "Thank you, father for allowing my stay, I shall return to my studies now."

She went to leave but Harry hug her before she could. Giving their farewells Lyllian left leaving Tom and Harry alone.

A silence filled the room Tom didn't know how to start a conversation he had so many questions, but he didn't know from where to start it.

Harry seeing his expression smiled and spoke. "C'mon Tom, let's go to the library… let's see if we can find some interest subjects for us to discuss.

And just like that the whole morning they stood in library discussing everything that caught Tom's interest, of course not everything he could do as he didn't have a wand yet and Harry also told him some things he would learn at Hogwarts. Harry also helped him chose some books for him to start learning from the beginning.

After lunch, that of course was delicious as well, Tom sat on the sitting room while reading, he was alone though, hours passed, and he was still with his eyes glued on the book. Eventually an elf popped asking if he needed something and he asked for something to drink. That was until the fire in the fireplace turned green and from there stepped a man maybe in his fifties, black and grey hair, grey eyes and a moustache. He was wearing fancy clothes and his fingers had a lot of rings. He diplayed an aura of authority. When the man spotted Tom he asked a little warily. "Who are you?"

Tom looked at the man awkwardly and amazed that he just came out of the green fire. "Uhm… Tom sir. Tom Marvolo Riddle, I'm adop…"

"I see…" the man didn't let him finish. "Well young Tom, it's nice to finally meet you."

"Uhm… likewise, sir… But, what's your name?" Tom asked.

The man raised his eyebrow but gave the boy a little grin. "My name's…"

Sirius Black sat at the head of the table looking at his bickering family, this usually happened nowadays, since his daughter married Lord Harry Peverell. But it was not because of this particular marriage but more about the war they found themselves in. Grindelwald rose again and declared himself as a Dark Lord, and currently he was making a huge calamity in the wizarding world. To say at least, Sirius was not giving a fuck with what the man wanted, but Grindelwald was forcing his hand nonetheless to choose a side. And that was the current predicament of his family, mentally Sirius sighed at the situation. Why he had to be the Lord Black when a war was starting?

"Can you all shut your mouths?" Sirius roared making everyone shut their mouths. Sirius then sighed. "Thank you… I already told you, we are not siding with anyone. Do you all understand me?"

No one answered they just stared at him or glancing at each other. "Good. Arcturus." He called his oldest son.

"Yes father?" Arcturus who sat at his right answered.

"I will be visiting your sister and Harry…" He was rudely interrupted.

"The blood-traitor?" Someone remarked with the wrong question, Sirius didn't need to see who it was, he knew it was his mother Ursula Black neé Flint.

"Mother…" Sirius warned sending her a glare.

"What Sirius? He's a mud loving trai…"

"Wrong mother, Lord Peverell has no qualms against muggles, but he also doesn't think we should mix our cultures toguether. And you must remember that calling Harry that you are calling your own granddaughter as well. Father is not the Lord Black anymore, since he became headmaster of Hogwarts." Sirius explained in a strong and authoritative tone.

"Sirius, he houses that… snake woman with him." Ursula spat.

"Nagini is the girl's handmaiden. Harry chose her because he saw she is good for the job." Sirius responded in defense of the woman.

"She's turns into a giant snake Sirius, she's a danger for the girls." Ursula didn't back down.

Sirius laughed but then scowled. "Are you turning senile in your old age mother, Lyllian and Harry are Parselmouths meaning they can communicate with Nagini in her snake form. Not to mention Harry is not to be taken lightly." Sirius then narrowed his eyes. "And what this have to do with muggles, mother? And you also can't deny that since my daughter married Harry, things are going better than ever, I accept their marriage, Harry's also a good man." He finished lowering his voice.

Ursula scowled and huffed, but she stopped speaking. But Sirius was not over. "Lord Peverell not only brought good things to our house but also gave me a better view of the future, things need to change, we will maintain our traditions and not get involved in the muggle world. Phineas was clear case mother, if we were a little more tolerable in considering each other's opinions Phineas will still be here. I'm ashamed of myself right now, and you should be too."

The table was silent, Sirius glanced at everyone's eyes before raising from his seat and tossing the napkin on the table. "Like I said Arcturus, I will be visiting the Peverells later today, so I need you to sign some documents and deliver them in the ministry."

Arcturus nodded and rose after his father giving him a polite bow. "As you wish Lord Black."

Arcturus then excused himself and walked towards his office, he needed to do some paperwork and respond to the letter from Lord Nott he received earlier today. When he arrived in his office he couldn't help but take one glass of liquor to lighten his mood and relax a little.

Reaching for the letter he saw the crest of the Nott family in the seal who kept the letter sealed. In the front was his name and the name of Cantankerus Nott. The man who penned the Pure-Blood Directory. The book listed the twenty-nine truly pure-blood families. The objective was to help the families maintain the purity of their bloodlines.

These families were Abbott, Avery, Black, Bulstrode, Burke, Carrow, Crouch, Fawley, Flint, Gaunt, Greengrass, Lestrange, Longbottom, Macmillan, Malfoy, Nott, Ollivander, Parkinson, Prewett, Rosier, Rowle, Selwyn, Shacklebolt, Shafiq, Slughorn, Travers, Weasley, Yaxley and finally Peverell. Initially it was to be the twenty-eight, but after Lord Nott met Harry he had to delay the publication to a year because he had to add the Peverells on the list and explain why they were there.

Sirius for his turn respected ninety percent of the families listed there, Wealey's… no he showed his distaste for them to Lord Nott but the man didn't see problem adding them there. When he asked why the Potters where not in the list Nott said they were to mud loving traitors for his taste, even if all their blood line was still pure, they will always support muggles.

When Sirius finished the letter, he took a sip of his liquor and sighed at the contents of the letter. First he started with a matter of the Wizengamot, nothing to serious. But then he said he would attend today's meeting that Lord Peverell set up. Sirius, Cantankerus and Harry turned to be quite the trio on the Wizengamot strengthening their friendship.

It was very shocking though, a family as old as theirs the Peverells were extinct then out of nowhere Harry showed in a moment not so warming and welcoming for Sirius as he would like to.

Some years ago Sirius was visiting an old healer who took care of one of his father's illness, and he went there to ask for a certain medicine to help fight the disease that was attacking him. It was nothing serious, but it could be a problem if not treated, and he didn't trust everyone with his health. Unfortunately, Sirius didn't consider himself as a very lucky man. The day he decided to visit the old woman, a raid of Dark Wizards… well, more like a raid o rebellious brats, was taking place at the same time he was leaving.

In the midst of the chaos, out of nowhere a wizard started to destroy the pitiful attempt that was the raid. He actually got a shiver on the spine when he saw that cold emerald eyes shining as he moved quickly while casting various spells defeating the Dark Wizards. The shiver intensfied when the man locked eyes with him for a moment before the man started to walk towards him.

Sirius however was a experieced wizard and he felt someone flanking him, but before he could the emerald eyed wizard finished the job for him.

That day he only got his name before he vanished, Harry Peverell a name that would be remebered forever by him.

It didn't took to long to meet the boy again, for Sirius he was still a boy even if he looked to be in his late twenties, but it was proved wrong when he saw him dealing with the politics in the Wizengamot. At first he decided to hate Peverell for his ideals about the Pureblood society and his opinions on muggles and magical creatures, but session after session on the Wizengamot proved Sirius wrong, the boy was crafty, powerful, cunning, smart and very patient. All his qualities shined with his ideals, and Sirius couldn't be more impressed with him.

One day, a discussion about Lycanthropy turned a Wizengamot session in chaos. The majority of the respectable Pureblood families wanted those with the 'disease' to be exterminated. For hours one Lord shouted at another altought it was all sileced by a wave of Peverell's wand, shocking everyone. Rather impatient Peverell supported against the extermination, seeing the discussion was going nowhere he promised he would found a solution for the problem. Every single person mocked him, no one believed in him. A week later Peverell was in the newspaper, being congratulated on his amazing discovery on a potion he called Wolfsbane, even if it was not a cure he really shut everyone's mouth. Now more rich then he already was, he had a first Merlin Order for his curriculum and the respect of different Lords both dark and light.

When Sirius approached him to congeatulate the young man he expected him to be a cocky and a arrogant bastard and dismiss him like he was garbage, suprinsingly he was very polite and cordious, and Sirius could see the sincerity on his words.

When Lord Peverell started to build a lot of connections Sirius felt obligated to do something for various reasons. One of them was his need to gain favors from the boy, wanted to see the advantages he could gain with the boy on his side. What he was not prepared for was the day Sirius invited him to partake in a Pureblood event, was the day his daughter fell in love with Harry Peverell and his son befriended the young Lord.

The day of the event Sirius sat with his wife and other Lords who brough their children and grandchildren to participate in the tournment, ages above thirteen were alowed to join the duels. The tournment was not only a event to demonstrate skill and power, there was a money prize of course, however generally this kind of event was for the pureblood families meet for a fun day, forgeting their disputes and disagreements. The tournament also had the objective for the males to attract the females, Pureblood wizards who wanted a wife, could get lucky and have a chance to garn attention of a single, beautiful and elegant pureblood witch.

Altought marriage after this kind of event were rare, Sirius in all his life never saw a couple of purebloods wed after the tournament, he saw courtship but never a wedlock. Normally it would always be by a contract or agreements between families.

That day, Lord Peverell was the last to arrive, he apologized of course, but his stained reputation among the majority of the pureblood families made Sirius facepalm at his own decision to invite Peverell.

As the event went by, Sirius thoughts about Peverell changed when the young Lord decided to take part in the tournament. Sirius, eager to see the man in action one more time, allowed himself to wait with eagerness for the show, yes show, after all he already saw Lord Peverell in action and it really impressed him. Maybe the lateness will be compensated by his skills.

The tournament started with some boring duels, purebloods from all families present took their chances on gaining the prize of money, recognition, respect and if the wizard desired and had a little luck, garn attention and interest of a pureblood witch.

For Sirius the tournment was boring, the duels were simple and graceless, until Harry Peverell stepped in for his first duel. Sirius was waiting expectantily to see a skilled wizard make his move, unfortunatelly as soon as the duel started it ended with two moves as Harry's opponnet was already on the ground. Making not only him but the whole crowd gasp in shock.

Fight after fight Peverell won without even breaking sweat, he was merciless but still respectful against his opponents. The final fight was against his son Arcturus, who stepped in confidently and to say at least Arcturus did break a sweat from Peverell but in the end Harry got out victorious with the money prize, respect and unfortunatelly a death threat from three deliquents who couldn't get their pride hurt by the man.

As soon as Arcturus got out of the ring impressed with the man he dueled with, Sirius saw three 'brats' enter the duel ring and start cursing Peverell. Sirius couldn't hear much what they were saying, but the swearing at Peverell he could hear very well. Narrowing his eyes seeing the situation escalate, he went to intervene, but he was too late. The wizards started to cast dark curses at Peverell who moved quickly and fought back accordingly, altought he was not using dark curses, just simple spells. If the ass kicking Peverell provided the wizards, everyone in the crowd froze when he started hissing the spells.

Lords, Ladys, Heirs, people with high positions on the ministry and even Aurors who were attending stood there in shock as he wiped the floor with the three deliquents. Silence reigned the place as Peverell stood there victorius with a angry and displeased expression on his face.

'This is the tratment I get by being a guest? They tried to kill me and you all stood there waiting for it happen? You call yourselves pureblood, fight to maintian your traditions, an event that's supposed to forget rivarly and strong the bonds between families, three bloody retards came attacking me without real reason and you all do nothing? ' Sirius stared at the man wide eye as the rest of the crowd did the same, seeing no one would speak too soon Peverell scoffed at them and left without another word.

The funny part though was that Sirius new Peverell would only gain respect now, he was not just powerful and skilled, he was a parselmouth and he was right at pointing the failure that the envent became at the end. After Sirius got out of his shocked state he knew he had to do something, he needed to apologize to the man, what concerned him was... at what cost?

That same day when he was already home he called his heir and son Arcturus Black, to ask for his opinion on what to do and the details about his duel. Arcturus was never an overly proud man, he acknowledged his mistakes and tried to correct them, and that's why Sirius had complete trust in his son.

Arcturus didn't know how to explain the duel, Peverell was fast and unpredictable, his son confessed if it was a duel till death he would be lying on the floor as soon he saw Peverell in front of him. By no means Arcturus was weak, it was Peverell who was smarter, stronger and more skilled.

Arcturus also remarked how polite Peverell was with him, he knew the right pureblood costumes before a duel and he performed them correctly. But Sirius also knew how his son found how cowardly those deliquents acted after Peverell won the tournment, and if indeed he was the one who invited Peverell for the event he should apologize as soon as possible, formally.

When Arcturus exited his office after his discussion with him, not even five minutes later, Lycoris came barging through his door demanding him to apologize and for him to set a marriage contract with Peverell.

She stood there for almost forty-five minutes complaining the absurdity that was the squirmish that happend earlier that day. Sirius was in shock for the whole forty-five minutes in shock for what his daughter said. Apologize, alright he was going to do that, but marriage... froze him. Her request was so genuine that he could feel her displeasure at what happened to Peverell.

First, his daughter never showed interest at any man he tried to set her up with, for her, or they were useless, not fisically to her liking, less wealthy than her, or some gits who saw her as a prize.

Secondly, she was demanding a formal apology including the marriage with her, she was putting herselff as a prize of apology, making it contradict herself. Altought she argued with him because it was her choice so she didn't saw herself as a prize, because she was destined to be with him and she wanted to have the man as her husband.

Thirdly, he didn't know how to approach a man who's beliefs were very diffent from what his family preached and now his daughter wanted to be wed with the man. Oh well, he had to think.

Losing his patience he kicked out his daughter of his office, then for fifteen minutes he sat in his comfortable chair thinking, taking a deep breath he grabbed the quill and a piece of perchment and started to write a letter.

After a week of waiting for Peverell to respond his letter of invitation for a dinner, he started to lose his hopes, he even thought Peverell would be rude as they were with him and not respond to the letter. Fortunatelly a day later the letter came apologizing for the lateness of his response. He explained in the letter that he was receiving tons of invitations, as Sirius already guessed, and he had to rescheduled all the meetings he had, but he was considering his invitation first, because he was the one who invited him for the event.

When the day came, all the Blakcs were formally dressed and were instructed to be extremally polite and respectful, some of them even snorted at Sirius. Suprinsignly though, the dinner was pleasent, questions were made to Peverell who answered naturally stating his opinion in every subject was brought to him, some of the Black liked him and others did not.

When the two Lords got to business, Sirius genually thought Peverell was going to demand money or some favors for the disrespect against his person, suprinsingly Peverell only asked to be respected for who he is. Peverell also apologized saying he understood that the wizards who attacked him were acting on their own and he shouldn't had snapped at everyone like that. To say Sirius was surprised with his humility was an overstatement.

During the pleasent night he spend talking with Peverell, Sirius got to known him better, Arcturus also seemed to enjoy the man's company, they befriended very quickly. For Sirius, Lord Peverell also remebered him a little of his disowned brother Phineas.

But of course every time there was something to make the night not so pleasent as he thought, Lycooris Black his daughter didn't stop gushing at Peverel, she was not subtle at her advances and she was very direct. Sirius did as she asked but Peverell admitted his hate for arranged marriges and added 'Lycoris if I was to marry you i would not be because some piece of paper but because I like you. '

What made Sirius laugh was his daughter's reaction and Peverell's prediction, at first she was depressed by his rejection, then she became angry as they discussed the subject, altought he didn't pushed her away or acted annoyed with her inistence and that only made her more determined to gain the wizard's affection. She was completely smitten by him.

After that night ended and the days had gone by, every time Sirius had news about Peverell or opportunity to meet him. Lycoris went to action, asking about him or if she could accompain him to meet the Lord.

Srius could see how patient Lord Peverell was with his daughter, and she used that to her advantage. Little by little she started to enter the wizard's heart and garn his attention, and every time she went to action she came back even more in love with him. As his daughter got more close to him, Arturus and even him also got closer to the man, without Sirius knowing, one day he was becoming Harry's father-in-law and being a grandfather.

Oh yes, it took time for all the Blacks warm up to Peverell, but as time passed everyone started to like him or accept him for diffent reasons, even his father and mother changed their minds completely when Lyllian Peverell was born, the healers explained that they never saw a child so powerful before with the addition of her abilities as a Parselmouth and Metamorphmagus, his father and mother praised and preached she was a perfect Black. Harry even named Arcturus and Cassiopeia, his niece, godfather and godmother, respectively, of little Lyllian.

Sirius mother tried to dig her claws on the little girl but like her mother, Lyllian's loyalty was complete towards Harry, not only because he was her father but because she knew some of the Blacks were tryin to carve their beliefs on her mind, as for her father he loved her unconditionally accpeting for who she was. Lyllian knew the diffente about love and interest.

Altough nothing was all roses and hapiness, a year before little Lyllian was born, Gellert Grindelwald escaped his prison. Bringing the wizarding world in panic. And Harry Peverell became one of the main names of this new war.

Blinking off the tiredeness of his eyes Sirius casted a Tempus spell and saw it was time to visit Harry. Swiftly he went to his Floo Network and after murmuring his destination he step through the green fire, only to be surprise. A boy was sitting on the couch on the other side, whom Harry already explained he would adopt, the heir of Slytherin. A half-blood.

"I'm Lord Sirius Black II, Lord of the most Ancient and Noble House of Black. I'm Lady Peverell's father." Sirius informed the young boy.

Tom bowed politely at him. "It's nice to meet you, sir."

Snorting silently he looked around, seeing no one else he asked. "Where's Lord Peverell and my granddaughters? "

Tom looked at a clock who stood nearby and said. "Probably their are studying, sir. As for Harry..."

"Harry? Didn't he adopted you?" Sirius asked out of impulse.

"Yes... how do you know? I got here yesterday?" Tom asked with narrowed eyes.

"Lord Peverell send me a letter." Quick and smart answer made Tom nod. "Well?"

Tom shook his head a little knowing he didn't anwser the man's question. "Ealier today a man asked to have a converstation with him, so maybe their are in his office."

"Man? What man?" As soon as Sirius made the question the fireplace burned green again and from there stepped Lord Cantankerus Nott, confident and proud as usual.

"Ah, Sirius. Good afternood." Nott greeted Sirius who did the same. After Sirius greeted Nott back his eyes traveled to the boy sitting there confused and a little scared about seeing two unknown man step in his home via green fire.

"And who might you be, young boy?" Nott asked curiously but politely.

"Tom Marvolo Riddle, sir." Tom anwsered slowly.

"Riddle? Where Riddle com from? Wait, are you a mudblood or half-blood?" Nott's face distorted a little at the boy before glanced at Sirius questionally.

Fortunatelly for Sirius, before the things could escalate, footseps were heard as well as shouting.

"Get out of my house, now!" Sirius knew it was Harry's voice, he seemed pissed as the footsteps approached the sitting room.

"Lord Peverell, you have to understand..." The second voice was also a man but he didn't recognized.

"Undestand?" As soon as Harry snarled this word he stepped into the sitting room looking beyond pissed. "There's nothing to understand Dumbledore, you are the one who desn't understand."

Dumbledore stepped in the room soon after but he was the first to spot the three standing there in the sitting room. Harry with a big scowl on his face followed Dumbledore's gaze and saw the three of them, immediatelly his expression relaxed.

"Ah... gentleman, welcome." Harry greeted them very tiredly.

"Lord Peverell." Sirius and Nott said simultaneously with a nod.

"What's happening here son?" Sirius asked narrowing his eyes at Dumbledore.

Sirius saw Harry glance at Tom briefely who sat there quietly and sighed. "It's nothing really Sirius, Dumbledore was already leaving." Harry finished sanding a glare at the man.

Dumbledore sighed sadly and nodded slowly. "Yes, excuse me gentleman." He walked at the Floo Network and disapeared on the green fire.

Sirius saw Harry's face harden, as if cursing mentally.

"Forgive me for this unpleasantness gentleman, please folow me." Harry started walking. Sirius and Nott followed in tow leaving a confused Tom behind.

"What Dumbledore wanted?" Sirius asked slowly.

Huffing Harry responded. "Grindelwald is looking for me."

Sirius took a sharp breath. "For what?"

"He doens't know, I assume is just for a talk. After all I warned Grindelwald what may happen if come for me with ill intentions." Harry clicked his tongue.

Seconds later they where on Harry's office where he offered a drink to them and they accepted gratefully.

A minute of silence to taste the drink was enough for Nott to inquire. "Who's the boy?"

Harry smirked with the glass on his lips. "My adopted son."

"A half-blood..." He started with a snarl.

"The heir of Slytherin." Harry said simply making Nott stop on his tracks.

"What? Impossible..." Nott tried again but Harry was faster.

"He's a half-blood from the Gaunts, didn't you connected his name with anything? Tom MARVOLO Riddle." Harry spelled Marvolo

"The squib?" Nott gasped realizing something.

"Yes he's Marvolo Gaunt grandson." Harry said.

"So he's the son of a squib and a mudblood." Sirius saw Harry flinch at the word and scowled soon after.

"As it may be, but you know there's no denial about his herritage. You putted the Gaunts on your book for a reason. And I doubt Morfinn will stay free for too much time. If he doesn't join Grindelwald he will be locked in Azkaban for his own stupidity. Leaving Tom as heir of the Gaunts and Slytherin." Harry said calmly.

"Even so... " Nott grumbled not liking it but he considered Harry's words.

But Harry was not finished. "You didn't ankowledge the Potters on your book because of Henry's Potters actions supporting the idea of wizards and witches coexisting with muggles or his declaration that the Potter name came form muggle origins as well among other things." Harry paused before continuing. "What I always tell everyone?"

Nott's face relaxed. "To evolve together with the coming future. Muggles are different from Muggle-borns and half-bloods as well the rest of us, we got our own world to take care of." Sirius knew Cantankerus was fascinated with the way Harry's ideals, even if he was a good exemple of pureblood supremacist. Harry didn't care about the muggles, only when they were thretened by stupid wizards without a reason. But he still thought muggleborns, those who were born with magic needed to be treated as their own.

Harry smiled. "Yes, very good. So don't deny young Tom's ancestry, I promisse you Cantankerus this boy will be very powerful and I will make sure of that."

Cantankerus settled down after that but commented nonetheless. "I'm surprised Harry, that you didn't joined Grindelwald."

Harry wetted his lips before comenting. "To some extent I agree with him, but he goes far beyond what he values and preaches."

Nott norted at that. "I can respect that."

"Thank you Lord, Nott." Harry raised his glass making Nott raised his.

Sirius smiled at Harry. Again he was suprised with his son-in-law. "Well gentlemen, let's get with business?"

The two raised their glasses at Sirius indicating he could continue.
