Sun-hee POV (Age 4)

My father was showing me a jigsaw puzzle for the first time, it looked like it was 100 pieces and it was supposed to come together to make a beautiful sunset. I was already smarter than most kids my age, being able to do basic multiplication and such. We were almost done, with one piece left.

"You wanna put in the last piece?" My father asked, holding the last piece in front of my face.

I nodded my head, taking the last piece from him. When I put it in, the puzzle started to glow, and above it was some sort of illusion of the image on the puzzle. I stared at it in awe, questioning what was going on. After about 10 seconds, it stopped glowing and returned to what it was. I looked at my father and he had the same look I had on my face, shock and awe. He looked at me for a couple of seconds. Then, out of nowhere, he engulfed me in a hug and started laughing.

"MY DAUGHTER HAS HER QUIRK," he yelled. I started laughing with him. Who wasn't happy to get their quirk. He let go of me and yelled to my mother, "Honey, Sun-hee got her quirk!" I could hear my mother running down the stairs when she was in our line of sight, we saw her with wide eyes. She ran to me and asked me to show her. I looked at the puzzle we just solved and touched it. It then glowed and the illusion of the sunset can back. When I took my hand off the puzzle, the illusion disappeared. She had the same face my father and I had a couple of seconds ago. She turned and hugged me.

"You'll grow up to do wonderful things, sweetheart," she whispered. My dad joined us and made it a group hug.

Time Skip (Age 12)

I was walking home from dance practice, when I heard someone screaming. I look in the direction of the scream to see a large cloud of smoke coming from a building. I ran towards the smoke to see a building on fire. There were some pro heroes there. But knowing the area, there weren't any water based heroes except Sir Nighteye's sidekick, Bubble Girl. I didn't see them anywhere close, so I started to get worried. I heard somebody yell, it sounded like a child. I look to see a child at the third floor window. The pro heroes' quirks aren't fit to save him.

There's a pro hero right in front of me trying to control the crowd with the police. "Sir, the boy up there," I say.

"Sorry, girl. But we have to wait for others to help him," he explained.

Wait. I suddenly remember something I had in my bag. I found my new Rubik's cube that my dance teacher got me that was supposed to have clouds as the main pictures. "Sir, I think I could use my quirk to save him."

He looks and me then nods his head. I start solving the cube. About 30 seconds later, it's solved and starts to glow. I then throw it as hard as I can towards the boy. A cloud appears and I try to control it's position and shape as much as I can. I raise it up to where the boy is and yell, "Jump! Don't worry, it's safe!"

I saw the look of hesitation on his face. He looked at me and saw my look of worry. He then closed his eyes and jumped on the cloud. I then brought the cloud closer to me and let the cloud disperse and I caught the cube. He fell into my arms and held onto me tightly, as the building collapsed. I saw that he was really spooked. But who wouldn't be?

"Hey, you wanna see something cool?" I asked him. He looked at me with tears in his eyes and nodded. I looked toward the pro hero in front of us. "Sir, can you hold him?" He nodded and took him from my arms. "What's your name, little one?"

"H-Haruto," the boy stuttered. I smiled at Haruto and held up my cloud Rubik's cube. It was mixed up again. After I solved it, it turned back into the cloud. I looked at his shirt to see it had All Might on it. I shape the cloud the best I can into All Might's face. I move its mouth like it was talking and do my best impression of All Might. He smiled and laughed a bit. He reached out to touch the cloud and his hand went through. He laughed again and started putting his hands through it over and over. Now that's just adorable!

Bubble Girl came with Sir Nighteye and put out the rest of the embers. I sighed in relief and looked at Haruto.

"Do you wanna find your parents?" I asked him. He nodded and I got him back in my arms. I had gained a lot of stares from what I had just done. I see two adults running towards me with tears in their eyes.

"Haruto!" they exclaimed.

"Mommy! Daddy!" Haruto exclaimed in my arms. I put him down and he ran towards his parents. They had a group hug and his parents looked at me.

"Thank you for saving our baby, young lady. Are you thinking of becoming a pro?" the mother asked.

"No, ma'am. I'm not sure if I'm suited for that type of work," I answer sheepishly.

"But you are," I hear a deep voice say from behind me. I turn around to see Sir Nighteye looking at me. "That was an impressive act of heroism. What was that device you threw?"

I look at him in shock for a few seconds, until I shake my head and answer his question. "Umm, it wasn't a device. That was my quirk," I explain. He has an indifferent look on his face. I showed him my Rubik's cube.

"I see," Sir Nighteye says behind me. "So your quirk has to do with puzzles, I assume." I nod. "May I see you use it?" I nod again. I solved it in about 30 seconds and it glowed. A cloud appears between my hands.

"My quirk allows me to bring images of puzzles to life and I can control them at will. Rubik's cubes turn into tangible objects, while jigsaw puzzles show illusions of the image."

"Interesting," he ponders. "I want to offer you a position to train under me and become a pro hero."

"You're not serious, are you?" I ask, flabbergasted. This shocked me. Sir Nighteye, All Might's former sidekick, one of my favorite pros, was offering me a position to be his protege. This must be a dream. It's too good to be true.

"No, I'm serious," he deadpans. My jaw drops.

"Well... Um.. I do wanna help people. But, are you sure that you wanna train me? I don't want to waste your time. I don't think I have what it takes. You don't even know my name."

"But, you do have potential. Then, if put to use, you will have what it takes. You were able to do what some pro heroes couldn't just now."

"Young lady, you saved our son when the pros couldn't," the father said with Haruto in his arms. I forgot they were there.

"We thank you from the bottom from our hearts," Haruto's mother thanks with Haruto looking at me in her arms, smiling at me. "We think that you deserve to be a pro right now more than anyone else." Haruto nodded, agreeing with her.

Am I really up to the task? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I look up to him and smile. "I'd love to take you up on your offer, but I'd love to talk about it with my parents first."

"Of course, I can escort you to your home now. I'm sure your parents are worried." He looks at Bubble Girl and Centipedes. "Please go back to the agency and finish any work needed to be finished. Then you can have the rest of the day off." Their eyes slightly go wide, as they nod and walk away.

"Yes, that would be wonderful. As long as it's no trouble," I say. He goes to talk with some of the pro heroes who were at the scene. I turn towards Haruto's family. "Please, take care of yourselves."

"Thank you again." The parents say.

"Thank you pretty lady," Haruto exclaims.

"Before we go, can we know your name, young lady," the father asks.

"Sun-hee Jin," I introduce with a wide smile.

"Thank you, Miss Jin. We'll be rooting for you," the mother encourages.

After they left, Sir Nighteye came up to me after talking to the pros. We start walking in the direction of my house. "Your name isn't Japanese. Are you perhaps a foreigner?"

"No, but my father is. He's from Korea. He convinced my mom to give me a Korean name. After that, they named my sister a Japanese name. Her name is Sakura," I explain. He nods in response.

"Do you have any athletic experience?"

"If you count dancing, then yes. I've been dancing since I was 5. I know a few styles like ballet, hip hop, and latin salsa. Although, my academic ability is far greater than my physical prowess. I'm even a grade ahead of kids my age."

"Interesting," he mumbled. I see that we reach the diner my parents run, our apartment is right above it. We walk in and some of the normal patrons greet me.

"Sun-hee, you're here later than usual," a woman in her forties greets. Nighteye and I turn to the woman. "And what's this, you have a pro hero on your tail. You didn't get in trouble, did you?"

"Hey, Miss Watanabe. There was something that held me up on the way. Sir Nighteye escorted me because he wanted to talk to my parents about something. And, no, I didn't get in trouble," I explain.

"Sun-hee!" I hear from behind me. I turn to get tackled in a hug by my mother. "You're home late, do you know how worried I was?"

"Sorry mom. I got caught up in something." Mom let go of me, grabbed my face and inspected me for any injuries.

"You must be Mrs. Jin," Sir Nighteye said from behind me. She looks at him with a shocked expression.

"Sir Nighteye," my mom whispered. "Did you get yourself into trouble, missy?"

"Mom!"

"Quite the contrary. Although, I think we should speak of this matter without an audience."

We looked to see people looking at us, then turning away to go back to what they were doing before. "Yes, please come upstairs. My husband and youngest daughter are there right now."

When we come upstairs, my mom tells, "CHUL, SUN-HEE'S HOME!"

My dad comes rushing down the stairs, my sister not too far behind him. He then tackled me in a hug like Mom.

"SUN-HEE! I WAS SO WORRIED WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"

"Dad, please! Take a deep breath and let Sir Nighteye explain everything." I try to use a calming voice so he doesn't freak out entirely.

He then looks at Sir Nighteye, awestruck. When Sir Nighteye became an official pro, he became one of my dad's favorite heroes. "Sir Nighteye," my father greets, his tone taking a complete 180. He bows at an exact 90° angle. "Please forgive my daughter's actions, whatever they are."

"DAD!"

"It's actually quite the opposite. I commend your daughter's action's. She actually saved someone's life." My parents look at me, startled by the new information. "I want to offer your daughter a position as a protege of sorts. Her heroic actions today were something that the pros couldn't do today. I want to teach her what I know. Plus, I believe a student who I'm looking to work under me for his hero work study will like the company. Your daughter said yes, but wanted to consult you first before committing to the idea."

My parents were silent and had tears in their eyes. "Sissy, what's the fancy tall man saying?" My sister asks, tilting her head in confusion.

I pick her up and tell her, "Well, Sakura. That man is asking mommy and daddy if he can train me to become a hero."

Her eyes sparkled. "So, Sissy's becoming a hero?"

"If mommy and daddy say yes."

"Mommy! Daddy! Say yes!" She starts wiggling in my arms. Her arms flapping.

"Mom? Dad?"

They slowly looked at me, stared at me for a couple seconds, then engulfed me in a hug with Sakura still in my arms.

"We're so proud honey!" They both exclaimed which startled me.

"We knew you were able to do wonderful things when you were younger. So, we'll be supporting you all the way." Mom.

They let go of me and turn to Sir Nighteye.

"It's fine with us, as long as she gets to help the world. She'll have our support no matter what." Dad.

"Yay, Sissy's becoming a hero!" Sakura

"Well then, we'll start soon. Here is my contact information. I'll see you soon." And with that he walked out the door. And my journey to becoming a hero began.
