Chuck Bass sighed and rubbed his face with his both hands.
Conflicted and frustrated.
Bass Industries was invited to THE Business Roundtable Conference,which consisted the gathering of all 200 major CEOs of around the world ,this time being held with European cruise tour,one of the most important ,wait not one,THE most important event for an entrepreneur.
But the thing was ; Blair was pregnant
This was the first time Bass had been invited.No one was available
In fact, Blair was in her last trimester.
The event was taking place near her date.
And that stupid post had delivered it 3 months late ; the invite that is.
The event was scheduled for a week from 7th to 13th November that is also Blair's due date ie on 8th Nov same as Rufus and Lily's anniversary.
Blair was pregnant with twins;boy and girl named Andre and Sophie Bass and even asking her for him to go was leading himself to his grave early.He had asked his close associates at the Bass but none could as Bass Industries s opening a new hotel called AndreSophie in the honour of his incoming children.
Chuck sighs and slumps back into the couch as his wife approaches.She takes the letter from the center table and reads and comes over and sits beside him.
"You're not thinking of even going are you?"
He sighs and answers "No of course not Blair,but no one else is also not available to represent Bass there ,and its a huge opportunity for Bass" he replies with his Brit style
"Chuck ! Andre and Sophie will be popping out of me ready to meet their daddy! There's no way you're going!"
"But Blair..."
"I SAID NO! Jack can..."
"cannot go as He is a huge part of this hotels investment"
"Then Hector is..."
"Already on a tour for the LA conference "
"Jamal is there..."
"Jamal is here doing all the work as I am on 'maternity' leave for you and Henry ! Other I don't trust and don't know if they can represent Bass well at International Level or can talk of shareholders or our projects and Buy us in their projects so next time we sure as hell get invited !"
"There's no way you're going"

"There is.And she will proudly represent you and no doubt knows our company well"

Chuck scoffs making Blair frown.
"What,am I wrong? She is your mother Chuck and a very dynamic businesswomen and a society women no one better than her can represent us there."
Chuck looks at her and says "Please don't tell her I didn't remember her "

Lily Rhodes was actually done with men.
After William now she's done with men and marriage.
If she will ever be married it will be to a certain former-rockstar-present-businessmen hazel eyed brunette.
Which she sure as hell he wouldn't marry her so why even think.
She misses him,of course,even as her friend guiding her and being able to be her true self wth him,not hiding under that socialite façade.They got messy in those ending weeks of their marriage.Both moved on,her back with Will and him with Lisa and well many more others.He changed.He became the aspect for which he was different than other men.He was real not some pathetic joke or a pastime or an experiment .
He is now 7th powerful man in NY as per NY Times and Business Insider,yes she did kept tabs on him,which resulted in many fights between her and Will.She still went through her shoebox comprising of his gifts from 80s and their marriage,still has his Lincoln Hawk ring,songs and letters.
She thinks as she drinks her tea as she reads her Nicholas Sparks Notebook coming to an end .Huh what a tragic similarity.
Maybe she should get a cat hell.
Ding
The sound of the elevator makes her turn and see her guest.
She is surprised to see her adopted son Charles Bass to be revealed who going to have twins next week with his busy schedule of this weeks launch too.
"Charles !What are you doing here? It isn't that you're not invited here , you anytime are but Aren't you suppose to sign on the last minute details of the AndreSophie or maybe be with Blair baby shopping" she asks him curiously.
"Believe me Lily I would, but there's something I need to discuss with you right away and it was urgent"
Chucks rounds up and sits beside her.
"Lily are you going to be somewhere between 7th and 13th except for of course my event and for Blair?"
"Of course not Charles.I would be here to support you and Blair be here for my upcoming grandchildren.Why do you ask?"
"Well the Business Roundtable conference is being hosted at that time and as Blair is due in that period , I can't go and everyone at Bass is busy for the opening and if you don't have prob--"
Lily smiles and rubs his arm and interrupt
"Of course Charles I will go.Just send me the details and dates Ok?"
Chuck smiles and hugs her .
"Thank you Lily,you're a treasure,and don't Worry, those men don't deserve you ,you're the best mother ever"
"Well I dont know about mother--"
"Hey dont let anyone say otherwise,Serena is a successful Fashion Director,Eric's a ruthless lawyer now and I am NY's 10th powerful person its all your doing and oh,lets not forget the lostlong Scott,who's also a good financial advisor"
Lily chuckles at Scott's title making Chuck smile.
They break the hug and Chuck kisses her cheek and leaves .
Smiling Lily goes back to her book having no idea what's going to be there at the European tour for her.
Rufus Humphrey rubbed his temple and moved left to right on his office chair as Parker his assistant went on about his 'shenanigans' with models last week.
"Rufus,you need to get your act together.3 in a week Rufus ! Three! The PR had a field day with it ! Thank God they were your kinda age of 30-40! Or it would have been 17th July 2017 all over again"
"Hey OK OK I promise to be discreet next time .Whats on our schedule next week."

Rufus groans and swirls in his chair and stares at the Monet behind him.
Remarkable but confused the hell.
"Finally on Thursday your off to the European cruise--"
"Finally thank God!"

"Yes,you're going that's final"

"No buts Mr. Humphrey"
"Fine,send a gift to the Waldorf and --"

"Not surprised,that women's got a thing for it "

Rufus raise his right brow

Parker leaves closing the glass door behind him with his words echoing in Rufus' ears.
He turnd around to his left and admires the citylights with high rise building closed with glass deep in thought.
Sighing
Its a fact they are still in love,the tension on Dan or Serena's birthday or even Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve was quite noticeable,they would steal glances and smile shyly at each other but would rarely talk,if did talk was strictly of events or business and their achievements and sometimes about their past events of 80s and laugh it off and go back to their partners;her Will and him his evening charm.
Will,he scoffs how could she ever go back to him after he gave her fake cancer and was the reason their marriage crashed.
Some months back ago when he was in LA doing a quick errand for his then 'mission' on Rodeo Drive buying something from Victoria's Secret he ran into the nemesis Ivy Dickens another thorn in their marriage.
They talked upon coffee as she told him the ugly truth about Will and her having an affair and she only being with him to keep him away from Lily so that Will gets to Lily and how Will played the game with CeCe's will with them.It had angered him.But he kept that to themselves coz he still isn't ready to be with Lily again,so he kept t to himself,coz he knows Lily would believe and leave him and come to him.
Getting up he walked over to his bar getting a scotch.
Taking a long sip he thought of the cruise and the journey forward,thinking to get to Lily after this cruise.
He missed her but he isn't going to fold easily,she would need to prove this time and try harder to get him coz he's isn't going to be easy.
He wouldn't handle her bullshit.
Or maybe she shouldn't,definitely he shouldn't,not a good idea coz she's stubborn as him and would never want him again coz she doesn't trust him,she would never comply even if did.
So he took a decision.
He would never be with her again.He's given her many chances and not again he would let his heart get hurt.
He's done and over her.
He tries to tell himself
He isn't still in Love with Lily Rhodes.Never will be again.He opened his heart twice got crushed twice .He will not repeat it again.
