Mike sat there scared and slightly relieved that he and El were about to have this conversation. He knew that telling El what sex was would create tension and possibly make her feel pressured, so he slowly eased into the meaning of sex.

"Have we ever done sex?" El asked this question with complete and pure innocence in her voice.

"No, we've never done sex." Mike said almost at the speed of light in a failed attempt to slow down the pace of the conversation.

El's Pov

In this moment, all things El was sure started to turn into insecurities and she could feel the tears building up.

"Have you not done sex with me, because you don't l-love m-me?" El asked this in such a low voice with her bottom lip starting to quiver.

"No, of course not you know I love you more than life itself it's just I-I don't think you'd be comfortable with that level of intimacy.

El just sat there silent with a confused look signaling for Mike to explain deeper into details.

"Uh ok remember what they were doing when Max said what she said, well that's a form of s-sex." Mike choked out the sentence growing more uncomfortable by the second.

El thought back to the scene and imagined that with her and Mike and she suddenly started to get a burning sensation in her stomach.
