Chapter 2: In Their Own Quirky Ways
I need to edit a bit in chapter 1. Okay, here's the next one!
Continuing from before and in summary, Shoto froze some giant robot and it fell while he got through. Present Mic even commented about it while Aizawa wanted to sit this one out believing he is not needed. Seriously?
Okay, back to the race as more of the robots in all sizes advanced to the students of UA when someone brought up something unexpected.
"Hey! Someone's trapped underneath!"
"Wouldn't that kill them?!
"Will people die at the sports festival?!"
That's when Ibara Shiozaki was the first to notice something because from the semi-frozen robot that was down, something is being busted and then, "KSH!"
"LIKE I'D DIE!" Eijiro Kirishima shouted and got out alive and hardened. "Kirishima from Class 1-A was underneath! That's crazy!" Present Mic commentated and, "That bastard Todoroki. He timed it on purpose so it'd be right where they fell! If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!" Kirishima stated and quirk introduction time. (I like to do the quirk intros so yes, any of the students that used their quirks for the first time in this story gets it)
Kirishima Eijiro!
Kosei: Hardening!
His body can get super hard! He can become the strongest spear, or the strongest shield!
By the time he's out, something else is bursting out. "That Class A..." Someone spoke from inside and, "KSH!"
"REALLY IS FILLED WITH BASTARDS!" It was at that moment that Tetsutetsu too burst himself out and he's completely as shiny as steel as, "Tetsutetsu from Class B was underneath! That's crazy!" Present Mic commentated and in addition, "If it hadn't been me, someone would've died!" The steel dude stated.
Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu!
Kosei: Steel!
His body can become like steel! He can become the strongest spear, or the strongest shield!
And then, something else bursted out. "KSH!"
"WOW! Kira from Class C is also underneath!" Present Mic commentated as the ruby pink haired girl jumped out and she's all shiny and colourful. Not to mention crystallized. "Whew! Close call! And I came out unscratched!"
Kira Yoko!
Kosei: Gemstone!
Her body can become like gemstone in the variations like ruby, sapphire, topaz, jade, emerald, etc! She can become the strongest spear, or the strongest shield! Not to mention shiny also on both parts!"
"What the hell?! Is it just me or at least one person from each hero class have quirks that are pretty much the same?! I've a hard enough time standing out like this!" Kirishima complained with tears as he ran and, "I don't care what so what! I'm gonna win no matter what!" Tetsutetsun declared as he ran also. "Hey! Wanna race?" Kira called out but no response. "Never mind."
From behind, "Those guys are lucky. They can get through without being afraid of getting crushed! Especially that girl whose body became all gem-like..." Kaminari exclaimed when Hiryu Rin from Class B called out. "C'mon guys! Let's work together to clear a path for now!" His left arm was then covered in scales as he got ready.
Rin Hiryu!
Kosei: Scales!
He can generate hard scales all over his body! He can shoot them! They can even act as armour!
Now in formation, the small robots are in the front followed by the medium ones and behind are the large ones. Hiryu then swiped his arm releasing a wave of scales and about 3 small robots were pierced and destroyed.
"Not bad. I'll help too!" Looking behind, "Whoa! He's one big guy!" Hiryu thought as Hagane stepped forth and punched his fists together and, "CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!"
"What the! That big dude generated armour and encased himself completely!" Kaminari exclaimed as a full armoured Hagane is ready for some action.
Hagane Abaran!
Kosei: Armour Plating!
He can generate and encase himself with plates of armour allowing him to don an armoured battlesuit! In doing so, his strength, speed, endurance and durability is increased! In addition, if his armour takes damage and is ripped out, he can generate the armour replacing the part that's ripped off!
"HA! HA HA! Watch me! Armoured Rampage!" Hagane shouted as he charged head on. Crashing took place and some of the small and medium robots were sent flying. "Ha! Ha! That guy is as crazy as ever!" Kora told his peers when, "IOOM!"
"Huh? Bakugo?!" Kaminari noticed as the explosion dude propelled himself over the robots as he made his way over the big ones. "Like I'd let you get ahead of me!" He thought with confidence as he dodged a robot punch from a big one and successfully went over it. "Class 1-A's Bakugo! Since the bottom's blocked, he goes overhead! Clever" Present Mic commentated and Aizawa just stared.
Back to the scene as Bakugo landed on the head of the robot when Hanta Sero made his move. "You seem like you'd be the type to plow straight through, but you can go around when you need to huh?" He called out as he and Tokoyami went over the robot. "I'm going to hitch a ride!" Tokoyami stated as Sero launched his tape from his elbows
Sero Hanta!
Kosei: Tape!
He can shoot tape-like material from his elbows! He can also wind it up and use it to move! Or cut it off and use it as a trap!
And then, "Land!" Tokoyami ordered as Dark Shadow obeyed.
Tokoyami Fumikage!
Kosei: Dark Shadow!
He's got a shadow-like monster living inside him that can materialize and change shape elastically!
As of now, Bakugo, Sero and Tokoyami bypassed the large robot and landed on the ground when, "IOOM!"
"Bakugo, don't tell me-"
"WHAT FLAT FACE!? I didn't do that!" Then, "Wait, don't tell me-"
"Look!" Tokoyami pointed to the right and then, Chika is seen touching 2 robots as her hands glowed and, "BOOM!" The robots exploded and the machine parts were scattered aside. She then ran towards a medium robot and used both of her hands to touch it. They glowed and, "BOOM!" More fragments were scattered and the 3 boys had to duck as one of them zipped past them. "Damn...who is she? I can't help it..." Bakugo thought as he continued at her.
"What the..." Bakugo could only gaze at the green-hair girl as she ran on.
Kibaku Chika!
Kosei: Detonation!
She can touch anything causing them to explode! In addition, fragments will scatter off from the detonated objects flying onto other targets doing AOE damage! Doesn't work on organic targets!
As Bakugo continued staring at her, "Oi Bakugo! You gonna get first place by staring at your future girlfriend?" Sero teased as he snapped out of it. "Shut up flat face! I'll kill you!" He yelled as he propelled himself forward with his explosions with Sero and Tokoyami pressing on.
Back at the stadium, the crowd cheered for the students and Snipe spoke to the other teachers. "As expected, most of the group that's gone ahead is from Class 1-A." He told them. "Class 1-B, Class 1-C and the other courses aren't bad either." All Might described. "It's just..."
"Class A doesn't spend a lot of time standing around." Aizawa described his class as back on the race, Tenya ran and kicked a robot down, Jiro used her earphone jacks and disabled 2 robots as she pressed on and Kaminari electrified a robot down. "Those who experience firsthand that the world above them through the incident at USJ..."
"Those who had fear planted in their hearts..." Scenes show Kirishima running through and chopped a robot in half and Ochaco using her quirk and released 3 floating robots as they crashed down destroyed.
"Those who dealt with it and pulled through..." Scene shows Ojiro spinning in the air and smashing a robot down with his tail and Shoji using his six arms to punch a robot and it's destroyed.
"They all used that experience to drown out their hesitation" Aizawa stated as back at the race, Izuku ran knowing he can't rely on his quirk early as he dodged an attack from a robot and found one of the pieces of armour from the one collapsed from Shots's ice attack. Picking it up, Izuku waited for the right moment and used it to slice the robot's arm when it attack. With that, "This can be a shield too! It'll be useful!" He thought as he moved on.
By now, all the small and medium robots are destroyed and all that's left are the big one. Yes, the giant robots and, "BOOM!" One of them got destroyed followed by 4 more as all watched in awe and Izuku noticed it. Looking behind, "Yaoyorozu!"
The vice class representative created a cannon which fired it's shots. "Piece of cake!" She described and there are still a lot more left when, "These ones are mine!" She looked to her left to see Jutaiho step forth. He got into a push up position with his hands and knees on the ground and the next thing it happened, a twin-barrelled cannon turret was created on his back with an attachment around his body. "Oh yes. UTE!" (Ute means fire in Japanese)
The turret fired it's rounds destroying some more robots as it rotated to it's right and fired more rounds. "Amazing..." Yaoyorozu described as he gave her the thumbs up.
Shageki Jutaiho!
Kosei: Turret Gun!
He can create turret gun emplacements around his body! The turrets can fire all sorts of ammo like rockets, missiles, cannonballs, artillery shells, etc! And they're unlimited! To change target, he needs his eyes to gaze on the target and the turrets will rotate to the target he set his gaze on!
Thanks to Jutaiho's fire support, most of the robots are destroyed as, "The path is clear!" Rikido called out as he, Ibara and many of the students proceeded. "Yaoyorozu and that guy with the turret gun on his back defeated those zero-point villains so easily?" Izuku thought as he ran and carried the armour plate. "No wonder she got in through recommendations!"
And it cuts to the teachers as Snipe brought up a statement. "During the entrance exam, they were there to be avoided. If you see them as things to be defeated, they're dumb hunks of metal. You'll start to see openings."
On the other hand, "I told him that even though I knew it'd be unreasonable, it doesn't matter if it's close!" All Might thought as he watched Izuku run with his armour piece. "Just get to the next round!"
Back there, 5 of the zero-point villain bots formed a line blocking the exit. Everyone stopped as, "This ain't good." said Rikido as Izuku ran up to meet him. And then, behind the crowd...

"You ready bro?"
"Yeah bro! Teamwork time!"
The next thing it happened, 2 male students jumped their way to the front doing acrobatics. "What the?" Kira noticed as, "Abaran! Throw us up!" One of them called out as, "HA! HA! Ready whenever you dudes are!" Once in position, the 2 of them landed on the armoured dude and he launched them in the air. There, the 2 of them generated an orb of red energy each.
"Twin..."
"Plasma..."
When the orb is big enough, they merged their attack into one and launched it.
"BOMB!"
The large orb of red energy hurled down onto the centre robot and, "IOOM!" A devastating explosion resulted in a chain reaction as the centre robot exploded and the parts flew onto the other robots destroying them.
As for the 2 students, Abaran caught them as they jumped off and posed some kung-fu fighting styles.
The Purazu Twins! Seiryoku and Kiryoku!
Kosei: Plasma Energy!
Both twins can generate and manipulate plasma energy by firing orbs and beams or they can power up their fists for energized melee attacks! Furthermore when they combine their attacks, the damage output from their power is doubled from their individual attacks!
Noticing this from the screen, "Hey! Hey! The first barrier's a piece of cake?" Present Mic commentated because as of now, all had cleared the robo inferno. "Then what about the second?" He asked and he's eating cake while commentating while Aizawa just sat and watched.
It cuts to the second one as Ochaco, Mina and Tsuyu are standing in front of it shocked. "If you fall, you're out! If you don't wanna fall, then crawl! It's the Fall!"
Why this second barrier is called the Fall? Because the only thing standing between the students and the next barrier are tightropes and stone pillars of different surfaces in terms of size.
"When did they build this stage?" Ochaco asked when Tsuyu hopped and landed on the tightrope and started crawling. "Kero! This is like a glorified tightrope!" She described. Seems like this kind of barrier gave her a quirk advantage.
And back there, Mei Hatsume just showcased her 'babies' in action to the students and they worked perfectly enough for her to clear most of the obstacles. That annoyed Ochaco when, "Are you going to go next?" Behind her is Chisai. "Oh sorry! You can go since there're only one tightrope." She replied. "Thank you but on second thought, I'll just cross through my way." Suddenly, Chisai disintegrated!
"What just happened?"
"She vanished or something! I don't know!"
"She just...just..." Mina doesn't know what to say when Ochaco noticed something on the ground. "What the..." She bent down and saw a small pile of, "Powder?"
Looking up, she can see a trail of powder crossing through by itself and by now, Tsuyu already crossed and once the trail reached the stone pillar, it materialized and, "There she is!"
Chisai Arashiko!
Kosei: Powder!
She can generate and manipulate powder especially when transmuting herself into living powder! The powder she has in her body can be any kind of powder like sleeping powder, sneezing powder and even coffee powder, etc!"
"Sheesh! There are some misplaced equality in this race!" Mina complained as she and Ochaco made their move and likewise, the other students wile Shinso just stood there and nicely commented on everyone's drive to cross through as the scene zoomed close to his face for he's planning something.
"A lot of people are working hard for their chance, huh Eraser head?" Present Mic asked in the audio room as Aizawa was stunned for being called by his hero name.
Back at the second barrier, Shoto easily crossed the tightrope by sliding through with ice and passed the second barrier. But behind, Bakugo is catching up and he noticed it. "Looks like he's getting fired up. A slow starter?" He thought as Bakugo continued to advance.
At the same time, Tenya has just arrived and, "My older brother is probably also watching. I can't let him see me act uncool!" So without a do, he got on the tightrope on both feet and used his quirk to advance with balance and with his arms stretched out to the sides. Far from his left, Shizen is seen manipulating the earth by forming stone bridges to cross through and he collapsed them once he's through.
Back at the stadium, the audience is talking about Shoto being in the lead and even bringing up the fact that he is the son of the Flame Hero: Endeavor. And also, someone stated that many will fight to get him as their sidekick.
"The lead pack is a step ahead, but below, everyone's getting clumped together! They haven't announced how many people will make it through, so you can't relax. Push forward!" Present Mic commentated as back there, Izuku is seen crawling through the tightrope upside down with his armour piece strapped on his back while in the sky, Shoji flew using his arms, Aoyama fired his navel laser away in mid-air and Hayato flew through and he's still carrying Mineta who'e enjoying the view. Plus, his mother is at home watching her boy enduring the game.
At last, Shoto reached the final barrier as Present Mic commentated that's it's a minefield. He even stated that the mines aren't powerful but loud and flashy enough to make someone wet their pants. Aizawa added that it depends on the person.
"First place is already there?!" Izuku thought as Gyoshi is running beside him and 2 students from Class 1-B, Shihai Kuroiro and Kinoko Komori ran past them and behind them are Kora who's drinking coke and he gave some to Konran who's beside him.
At the minefield, some doofus stepped on a mine and it blew him out of the race sending him flying and another one triggered and he's in the air. "I see. This is an obstacle that puts those in the lead at a disadvantage." Shoto thought while crossing carefully and a fool got blown away. Suddenly, Bakugo propelled through laughing. "This doesn't affect me!" He laughed and he beat Shoto for first place. "Bastard. Don't declare war to the wrong person!" He also shouted as he tried to attack the half-cold, half-hot student but he dodged his explosive attack. Still, Bakugo's in the lead.
At the stadium, the audience cheered for the action and back to the minefield now as Tenya made a huge mistake by running through and triggering too many explosions that overwhelmed him in the end while Ibara and Juzo Honenuki ran through and finally, Bakugo and Shoto are fighting for first place now.
Oh look, Izuku just arrived as 2 more students triggered explosions and they flew up in the air. Bye, bye for them! With keen observation, "It...It's far..." Izuku thought as an explosion was triggered in the middle of the minefield. "But there's still stuff I have to do!" And he got to work while the rest continued crossing and a scene shows some of the 1-B students struggling even with Manga Fukidashi forming the 'Boom!' word on his speech bubble head and another scene shows Shoji using his quirk to scout and detect for mines while Ojiro and Rikido are holding position.
"I'm gonna borrow your idea, Kacchan! Super Explosive Speed Turbo!" Whoa, he's done already? Oh he is and using the armour piece as a board, Izuku jumped down while lying on it and a massive explosion drew everyone's attention. "There's a huge explosion at the back?! What's with the force?!" Present Mic commentated as Tenya, Ibara and Tokoyami endured the force. And it seems only Ochaco noticed it. And then, Shoto and Bakugo are next as catching up to them and still in the air...

Is Midoriya.
Flashback...
Rewinding back to the starting point has revealed that Izuku is digging and gathering the mines with his armour piece and while he's doing that, Yosetsu Awase, Nirengeki Shoda, Kojiro Bondo and the Purazu twins are walking through while looking down and Tsuyu is walking on fours. Additional scenes show Bakugo and Shoto fighting for first place, Tetsutetsu and Kirishima fighting and in the air and Hayato dropped Mineta to Yaoyorozu as the midget got 2 of his pop-off spheres ready.
While he's doing that, Jiro noticed him as she used her earphone jacks to detect the mines while Kendo, Fukkatsu, Dekki and Koda walked carefully. As Izuku continued digging, "Need a hand?" He was surprised to see Shizen as, "I can see you have a plan to get in the lead. Smart and strategic. Let me help you with that. Chi!" His left arm had earth covering it as he manipulated the ground by having it to bring any of the mines near them. Soon enough, Izuku had a pile of mines ready. "Wow...thank you."
"No problem." Shizen replied as Izuku made his move.
End Flashback...
Still in the air, Izuku flew his way through as everyone all can see him. "Class A's Midoriya is in hot pursuit with that blast!" Present Mic commentated and, "Kaze!" Shizen's right leg had wind blowing around as he performed a front kick sending a blast of wind to help Izuku fly further and, "Actually, he's taken the lead!" Present Mic commentated again and the audience cheered in excitement.
"I flew just like I'd planned, but there's so much force! And...
...
...
...
"I didn't think about landing!" Yeah he has to worry not just that but also, "Deku! Don't go ahead of me!" Bakugo shouted as he propelled forward while Shoto formed an icy path for him to run through. "This'll give those in the back a path...but I don't have time to worry about what's behind me!" And as a result, "Yo guys! We got the advantage!" Ganseki called out as Chenji began teleporting through the ice and the rest pressed on.
Back to Izuku and he's losing speed as his mind can predict that Shoto and Bakugo will overtake him. Still, "Grab hold of that chance you got to get in front of these two and don't let go!" Izuku then smartened up and grabbing the cord of the armour piece, "If I can't take back the lead, then I can't let them get ahead of me!" Some fiery perseverance and determination he has as he flipped himself over, pulled the armour piece over him and slammed it on the minefield! And 2 mines were below so, "BOOM!"
The force from the explosion pushed him forward and startled the other 2 as he rolled over, got on his feet and ran on. "Midoriya swiftly blocks those behind him! Would you believe it? He cleared the minefield in an instant!" Present Mic commentated and seeing this, "Amazing..." Shizen thought with a smile and, "Kaze! Chi!" Wind and Earth formed around his legs and combining them, he now has a sandstorm whirling around him as he zipped through. "Unbelievable! The class representative of Class C, Shizen Godai is the next to clear the minefield!" And followed by Shoto and Bakugo as, "Eraserhead, your class is amazing! What're you teaching them?!" Present Mic asked. "I didn't do anything. They got each other fired up on their own." He replied and the finish line is near.
And soon enough, "U.A. Sports Festival, first year stage!" Present Mic declared and the winner for the first stage is...

"Izuku Midoriya's made a huge splash!" Present Mic declared as the entire audience roared in excitement and cheering as it cuts to his mother crying in shock that her son is first followed by Death Arms and Kamui Woods who recognized him and even the main antagonist, Tomura Shigaraki who was watching the event through his computer eyeing on him.
Nearby, "This guy is something! A worthy rival to take on!" Shizen thought with a smile for he came in second. "If only I knew what his quirk is..." And as for Izuku, he can see the audience and the teaching staff cheering and applauding for him especially All Might as he couldn't help but shed some tears.
"This sports festival is a competition where they have to aim for the top, even if it means defeating their friends and classmates." All Might thought as it cuts to Sero running his way to the finish line with Kira overtaking him and behind them, Kirishima and Tetsutetus are leg-to-leg with each other and behind them, Yosetsu, Tsuyu, Shoji, Dekki and Chika are catching up.
Meanwhile, Bakugo is breathing heavily and is full of anger that he didn't come first but it instantly went away when he saw Chika walking by. "That girl..." So immediately, "HEY!" Chika soon got his attention. "How...how did you blow them up?" He asked. "Well...I wouldn't say I blew them up...I just...detonate them." She replied. "I see...your quirk enables you to detonate objects in way you make them blow up." Bakugo assumed. "Something like that. It's no wonder I saw you create explosions." She replied surprising him. "Heh. So it seems our quirks are similar but different in how we trigger them. I can create them but you can cause them." Bakugo summarized. "Okay...well, gotta meet my friends. Nice talking you." She replied and before she can leave, "Wait first. Bakugo Katsuki."
"Oh...Kibaku Chika but you can call me Chika. See you around." She then left leaving Bakugo impressed. "Nice. I just talked to a girl!"
"Oi Bakugo! Who's that chick you're talking to?" Kirishima called out as Kaminari, Sero, Mina and even Toru gave him cheeky smiles and, "NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS YOU BASTARDS!"
As for Shoto, he's tired and took a glance at Izuku who came first for a moment and after that, walked away as, "Deku-kun! You were amazing!" Ochaco called out to him while also running to him while behind them, Tenya is feeling down and horrified that he was far behind because right now, he's murmuring to himself. "First place is amazing!" She continued on making him flattered but deep in thought, "I was just lucky! I just happened to be able to use something I thought I can use. What's amazing was my luck. It was a lucky punch!" So true as he clenched his fist in concern. "My real ability will be tested after this..."
At the same time, Yaoyorozu just arrived tired and staggering. "This isn't how it's suppose to..." And cheering can be heard because Mineta was clinging onto her back from the final barrier to the finish line! "Thanks to that falcon guy who dropped me at the right timing, I killed 2 birds with one stone! I'm genius!" The Pop Off boy cheered. "You're the worst!" The vice class representative replied.
A while later, "The first game of the first-year stage is finally over." Midnight announced and she revealed the results on who came first and last.

After that, "The top 62 made it through the next round. It's unfortunate but don't worry even if you didn't make it!" Midnight announced. "We've prepared other chances for you to shine."
"Just like how I like it when the sun shines on my gem body." Kira chatted with Katsumiya and Konran and after that, Midnight revealed the second game which is the Calvary Battle. "A Calvary Battle? I'm bad at those..." Kaminari exclaimed. "It's not an individual event so I wonder how it'll work..." said Tsuyu as Mineta looked up to have a look at the screen that displayed the second game title. Behind them, "Something tells me teamwork may be needed." Setsuna chat with Kendo. "Probably." The class representative of Class B replied.
And now, Midnight revealed how the game works. Form teams of 2 to 4 people depending on their choices and point values are assigned to the 62 people based on their rankings.
"A point-based system like the entrance exam huh? That's easy to understand." Rikido exclaimed. "In other words, each team is worth different points depending on who's on the team." Ochaco exclaimed with Mina agreeing with her when Midnight snapped at them for interrupting her briefing and after that she revealed everyone's point values.
