"Huh? What?" said Cubbos after he heard a voice from behind him.
"Please, stay quiet. If someone hears, we'll all be in trouble!" said Isadore, who somehow managed to escape from the crowd to rescue these two. She had a key in hand, which she had stole from the guards without them knowing. She was now trying to unlock the huge lock which was keeping the chains together.
"Who are you? And where did you get the key?" asked Jakos.
"Uh… My name is Isadore and I stole it from the guards" she said, in between grunts.
"You stole it? Wow…" said an impressed Cubbos.
Right after that, the lock was opened.
"Thank you for helping us Isadore," said Jake. "We should leave" he said as he was looking around for where their épées were kept.
"Wait! Take me with you!" Isadore begged.
"What? We can't do that…" said Cubbos.
"Yes, you can! No one is stopping you!" argued Isadore. She just wanted to get away from this boring life.
Before anyone could say a word, a voice from the hallway was heard.
"Yes, yes… I know! But we have to be careful with the mission"
"Come on! We have to get out of here!" said Jakos grabbing Isadore's and Cubbos's hand and running towards another room.
Two men came into the ball room to find it completely empty. They were dressed in official clothes, meaning that they worked for the king. They were talking for a little while before noticing that Jakos and Cubbos were gone.
"Oh no! The prisoners! They're gone!" said the first man, who was taller and skinnier than the other.
"The king is not going to be happy about this…" said the second man, who was short and… not the skinniest of people.
The two men quickly ran to where the king was, to inform him about the problem here. In this time, Jakos, Cubbos and Isadore found a window through which they could escape.
They quickly made their way to the town, to get as far away from the palace. The town was not so crowded as it was in the morning, because everyone was at their homes with their families.
"So… Where do you live?" asked Isadore.
"Um… We'll show you!" Cubbos replied.
They walked a bit more, until they reached the end of the street. At the end of the street was a small and dark alleyway which was very, very small and congested. There was barely any space to even walk! They continued on that path for a few minutes until they reached a building which was quite damaged, with the paint all weary and the glass in the windows broken.
"You live here?" asked Isadore.
"The outside isn't as eye-appealing as the inside… After all, they say to not judge a book by it's cover!" said Jakos.
They went inside, and Jakos was right. Even though the outside was not the best kept, the inside of the place gave out a happy and homely feeling. It was decorated with different colored lights like blue, white, yellow, pink, whatever was available! The sofas were a bit torn on the sides but they were patched up with fabric that did not match the original sofa. Plants were hanging from different places, which was Cubbos's doing. He liked gardening, it helped him focus more.
"Welcome to our humble abode! It's not a castle, but it's something!" said Cubbos.
"This place looks magnifique!" exclaimed Isadore.
"Seriously? Well, are ya hungry? I didn't see you eat anything at the ball" asked Jakos.
"Uh… No, I'm not hungry" replied Isadore, but her stomach said otherwise. It growled at the mere mention of food!
"Haha… I'll cook something up!" said Cubbos, as he headed towards the kitchen which was right beside the hall.
Jakos and Isadore took a seat on the sofa.
"So… You're from a rich family?" asked Jakos. Might as well get to know his new 'friend'.
"Uh… You could say that. I come from the Jaeger family" Isadore replied.
"Oh ya… Wait, what?! That's like, one of the most powerful families ever!" said Jakos.
"Yeah…" confirmed Isadore.
"And if you're parents realize that you're gone they'll come looking for you! And then they'll find us and we'll all be doomed" Jakos realized.
"I go missing all the time, I try to escape that place every chance I get" said Isadore, leaning her head on the sofa and stretching her legs on the table in front of her.
"You're not like other girls I've met" thought Jakos out loud.
Before she could answer, Cubbos came back with some delicious-looking foods. He placed the plates on the table, and sat down.
"Wow… This looks good!" Isadore exclaimed.
"Why thank you, it tastes just as good" said Cubbos.
"He's a good cook" said Jakos, stuffing his face.
After finishing, they went to bed, with Cubbos and Jakos in one bed and Isadore in another. The next morning was normal, they had breakfast.
"Alright… I'm gonna go practice fencing" announced Jake, after finishing up his breakfast.
"Fencing?" Isadore rain an eyebrow.
"Whenever the 'mighty Jakos' isn't outside on mission, he dedicates himself to practicing his amazing fencing skills, even though he's already perfect at it!" teased Cubbos, as he picked up all the dishes from the table.
"Ooh… Can you teach me? I already have the basics down…" asked Isadore.
"I…" he was about to refuse, but seeing Isadore's cute and pleading face only made it harder to say no! "Fine…"
"Yay! Thanks!" said Isadore, clapping her hands in delight.
"Cute…" thought Jakos.
They both went to the training room, while Cubbos went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
"You said you had the basics down?" asked Jakos as he opened the cupboard to get the épées out.
"Yup!" answered Isadore, who caught the épée that Jakos threw at her.
"Well then, show me what you got!" said Jakos, taking his position.
"En-Garde!"
They practiced for quite a while, Jakos giving some tips in between and Isadore messing up a bit here and there. They also got to know each other a bit, giving each other facts about each other and describing their daily lives.
"Well, that's enough for today" said Jakos. "You're pretty good for a beginner"
"Thanks!"
"Guys! I made lunch!" called out Cubbos from the kitchen.
After eating, they sat down for a while.
"So… Do we have any missions coming up?" asked Cubbos, without realizing the fact that Isadore was sitting right next to them.
"Uh…" Jakos quickly motioned his eyes towards Isadore, to remind Cubbos.
Isadore quickly understood what they were talking about, and she also got the hint that they didn't trust her so much. If she was them, she would either, because after all, she was still a stranger whom they knew so little about.
"Don't worry, I know about how you help the poor with the money you steal"
"Haha… What are you talking about…?" asked Jakos, trying to hide his shock and their secret.
"No use in hiding it from me, you guys" said Isadore.
"How… do you know?" asked a curious Cubbos.
"I have my ways" said Isadore, giving them a wink.
"Ok… Wow"
"And I must say, I'm pretty impressed! But, there has to be another way you know, other than stealing?" asked Isadore. She knew that it was for a good cause, but it was still wrong.
"The money we steal doesn't actually belong to the rich people… There's something going on inside the palace that very little people know of" explained Jakos. He thought that she was trustworthy enough to reveal that. And plus, she had good intentions!
"We've been trying to find that out for years!" said Cubbos.
"Hey… When we were in the palace, two of the people working there mentioned something about some kind of mission, right before we escaped… Maybe that has something to do with all this?" guessed Isadore.
"You could be right…" agreed Jakos.
"Hey… Why don't we go to the palace? We could sneak in and see what they're hiding!" suggested Cubbos.
"That might work, but we'll have to be really careful" reminded Jakos. "If we want to get going tomorrow, we should start preparing"
"Okay… Great!" exclaimed Isadore.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! You're not coming along, it's far too dangerous" said Jakos.
"What? No… I'll be helpful! Please?" begged Isadore, giving her best innocent-puppy eyes.
"Uh…" guess Jakos did have weakness, he couldn't say no! "Fine… I can't believe I'm agreeing to this!"
"Yeah!" exclaimed Cubbos excitedly, giving Isadore a high-five.
The rest of the day went smoothly. It was the next morning, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping! It was a new day, and our brave group of heroes were creeping around in the palace. They had woken up very, very early to go to the palace.
"What do we do?" asked Cubbos. They were hiding behind some barrels, in the backside of the palace where all the operations take place. They were eavesdropping on the people working there, trying to get some information.
"We wait and listen" whispered Jakos.
"Listen, men. I'll tell you this again. We use the explosives to cause a distraction and get the loot from the Silas tribe"
"No…"
Author's note:
Bonjour mes amis! How are you? I hope you're doing fine! I know I am! Man, I sound like some over-enthusiastic happy person. Yay! How do you like this chapter? I hope you like it, even though this is not one of my most amazing chapters…
And Yavuz, if you have seen the original episode, you will know that the buccaneers only meet Skully in that particular episode, but me being me, of course I'm not gonna follow the original plot-line of the episode! I was actually not planning on adding him in there, but it seems like an interesting thing. So yes, Skully will be making an appearance in here.
And then, "Mickey Donald Goofy: The Three Musketeers" thing. I actually don't watch the Mickey-Mouse series and that stuff, even though I was obsessed with it when I was younger. I even dressed up as Minnie for my fancy dress competition! But no, it's not related to any of that, so sorry!
Anyways, thanks for reading! Bye bye! Hope you have a great day!
