Night POV

As I walked into The Lotus Hotel and Casino, a man walked over and said "hello Night! Welcome to Lotus Hotel and Casino! Here is your pass so that you can play any of the games, and it doubles as your room-key-card!"

"Thanks. But what room number is it?"

"It is room 348 on floor 3. But there are currently 2 children, one 10 and the other 12 living in it. We thought you might be more comfortable with 2 other children with you. Now, have a fun time! Good-bye!"

I walk to the elevator, and go to floor 3. As I walk to my room, I hear some people arguing.

"No, you already had a whole bag of marshmallows!"

"But they are sooooooo yummy!"

"No!"

"But-"

"NO."

"Fine."

I walk into the room, and the people turn to me, surprised.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here?"

"I'm Night. And the person at the front desk thought I would be more comfortable with some kids. Can I stay?"

"Of course! We would love it! I'm Bianca, and this is my little brother Nico."

"Cool! But… if I stay, there is something you should know about me. I- I have wolf ears, and a tail."

Their reaction was not what I was expecting. They looked interested, and Nico said

"That is soooooo cool! Can I see them? Can I touch them? Can you turn into a wolf? Can you speak wolf? Did wolves raise you? Do you live in a wolf pack?"

"Yes to all of those questions. You can see them, you can touch them, I can turn into a wolf, I can speak wolf, I was raised by wolves, and I live in a wolf pack."

His eyes widened, and he said "wow! That is super duper cool! I wish I could do that."

I unfold my ears, and my tail, and he touches them.

"Wow! They are really soft! Can you turn into a wolf right now?"

"Yes, I can, I can also turn into any animal I want, so if you have any requests you can tell me and I will do it."

I leap forward, and shift into a wolf form.

"Wow! That is the coolest thing I have ever seen! Can you do a snake?"

We continue this until it is time for bed. I can't sleep, and I am scared sometimes in new places. I tell Bianca, and she asks me if I want her to sing a song for me. I say yes, and request the wolf song. ( watch?v=KTmatjyd4KM) As she sings to me, I drift into a deep sleep, and dream of hunting with my pack.

A month later, I have spent all my time in the hotel with them, and they feel like family. They love me, and I love them. They take care of me, and we all spend our days playing games and having fun. I think this is the most fun I have ever had in my life! I am so happy, and I don't regret leaving camp! I am super happy, and I love it here.

But, a month later, a man in a big coat comes and takes them away. I couldn't come, and I was incredibly unhappy. I miss them!

2 months/1 year later. Jason POV

As a praetor, I have many jobs. Most don't include going on quests to find new demigods. But, that is what Jupiter (my father) said Reyna and I have to do. So we go. Father says we must go to Lotus Hotel and Casino to find the demigod. Apparently, the demigod is called Night, and is 7 years old. And, Night is a child of Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto. Well, it seems that I have a little sister! Dad told me all about Night, how she was born, and what powers she has. She is clearly a very powerful demigod, and already knows about the gods. We head to Las Vegas, to the Lotus Hotel and Casino. Dad says it is the lair of the lotus eaters, and gave us amulets to know how much time has really passed.

Night POV

I stayed in the hotel for two more months, unhappy and missing Bianca and Nico. Why can't I leave to go find them? Just when I made my decision to leave and go find them, 2 kids, about 13 or 14, come to me. One of them, the boy has blond hair and electric blue eyes, the other, the girl, has brown hair and black eyes. The girl says

"Hello, Night. I am Reyna, and this is Jason Grace. We came to rescue you."

"I don't need rescuing."

"You do know how long you've been in this hotel, right?"

"Yeah… 4 months."

"No. You have been here 2 years. The Lotus hotel is the lair of the lotus eaters, and it traps you in time. We are here to help you, and take you to camp."

"I don't want to go to camp! I hate camp!"

"You have never been to camp Jupiter, have you?"

"Camp Jupiter? Nope," I say, popping the p.

"Then you should try it! And, are you familiar with the roman gods?"

"Yes. I know the gods are real. No need to explain."

"Good. Now, come with us?"

"One last thing. I am not a human."

Jason and Reyna look surprised, and their mouths drop open.

"But- I- how-" Jason says.

I sigh, and explain my life story.

"-and that is how I exist. Now, please don't think I'm a freak. I am NOT a freak."

Reyna's eyes soffen, and she says "of course we don't think you are a freak!"

"Well… one last thing before I trust you."

"What's that?"

"What is your full name?"

"I can't tell you that. A, it is embarrassing, and B, I left that part of me a long time ago."

"Then I can't come."

Reyna sighs, and says "Fine. My name is reyna avila ramírez-arellano."

"Your initials are RA-RA! Can I call you RA-RA?," I say, with the biggest smile, and adorable puppy eyes.

"Ugh! You are so hard to resist! Fine."

"Yay! RA-RA! RA-RA! RA-RA! RA-RA! RA-"

"Stop. now."

She looked very dangerous, so I stopped.

"Now, follow us."

Still Night's POV, at camp Jupiter

All these people staring at me are making me nervous. I do not feel comfortable with the gawking at me. As we make our way through the streets, there are- ghosts? running around.

We walk past fauns begging, and other things, until I see a familiar figure. He turns around and I gasp.

"Nico?"
