Hi! So, Part two has finally made it here. I know... finally lol. I've had major writer's block lately so, enjoy!
11:30 am - Storybrooke, Police Station
It had been over a week since anyone had heard from Regina Mills after the incident at Granny's. Emma was now sitting at Storybrooke's own police station with the company of David.
"I don't know Dad...according to her secretary, she had been working from home as of lately." Emma Swan could be heard talking to her father. She was slumped back in her office chair, her legs spread apart as she was lazily looking at The Mirror, the town's newspaper. How lady-like of her. She wore blue jeans, a turtleneck, and a brown pair of boots. A casual outfit. Her blonde hair draping over her breasts and fanned out over the back of the black office chair.
David sat across the way at his own desk, occupying himself with the police reports. Oddly enough, things had quieted down after the incident with the Snow Queen. It was a little bit scary, the silence. But it made their job a lot easier if minimal calls would come in.
"I know you said to wait it out, but I'm getting really worried about Regina," Emma said, tossing the newspaper aside, running her hair through her messy, blonde hair. "I think I should go check on her." She suggested as she looked over at David. Sure, Regina was a fickle person though why would she just disappear. Even Henry was wondering if his other mother was alright. Emma just had to tell him that his mother just needed time. For what? She didn't really know.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" David asked, raising his eyebrows as he looked at his daughter as he scratched his head absentmindedly. Both of them knew how Regina could be when she wasn't up for company. However, Mary Margret knew her more than anyone since she had practically been raised by her.
"No, but it would be nice to know that she's alright," Emma exclaimed, with wide eyes, and tilted her head. If her expression were words, she was scolding her father with just a look. She was surprised by her father's unconcern, as he was regularly over-concerned about situations involving his family.
David furrowed his brows for a moment in thought. He knew damn well he couldn't stop his daughter but he only warned her to be wary. He wasn't at all afraid of Regina but she could have a hell of a temper. But he had also seen how she had changed. "I know, I and Snow worry too, Emma."He said thoughtfully, though as he spoke he stared at the floor. He eventually faced Emma, who had now sat up-right. "Tell you what, go on ahead and if you need something I'm a call away."
"I've got this," Emma exclaimed, "You won't be getting any phone calls." She explained, before standing up from the chair she had been slumped over in. She tossed on her favorite red, leather jacket with a sigh directed towards her disapproving father. Sometimes she had to keep him in check, as she wasn't a little girl anymore. That was a long time ago. Besides, now they had Neal to keep them busy. Soon, they'll tease him, love him, and maybe when he's old enough... ship him off to college. All those little things, Emma didn't get to experience as a child. Sometimes, it still bothered her but, she knew now as to why it happened. She didn't know it then, after the first curse. She couldn't blame them, though it didn't mean it didn't cause her pain. They didn't have to know.
12:15- Emma Swan; Outside Regina's Mansion
Emma sat in her little yellow Volkswagon outside of the Mayor's mansion, in her debate of whether she should go up to the door and knock... she preoccupied herself checking her text messages. She and Henry discussed a possible movie night. Regina had bailed on him too. Figures. She'd keep the kid away cause she wasn't in the mood to deal with him. She tried to tell Henry that Regina was just struggling with her break up with Robin. It's all she could really say. She didn't know what was up with Regina as of currently so, she expressed what she knew. Sure, she wanted to help but emotional scenes weren't really her thing, she clammed up.
"You don't think she'll go bad again, do you?" Henry's most recent message read.
"Idk Kid. I hope not."
That was all that came to mind when responding to what her son asked. After typing the last few words, she sighed; setting the phone aside. She didn't know if it was possible for Regina to go dark again. She didn't want to think about that. She sighed softly and looked at the large building to her right. Regina's Mansion. From what she could tell, there wasn't much activity occurring. She eventually pushed herself to leave the vehicle and lock her car. Tediously, Emma Swan made her way down the path aligned with well-trimmed shrubbery. However, she didn't take the time to admire as she had to speak with Regina.
Slowly, she made her way to the front steps of the grand mansion, and reluctantly rang the doorbell. She drew out a sharp breath, drawing out the bundle of nerves of what she thought to expect on the other side of the door. She heard no answer and tried once more.
"Gina, I know you're in there," Emma spoke loudly, "I can see the lights on." She stood in front of the door and exhales softly; a small cloud pluming due to her warm breath combined with the crisp air of autumn. It wouldn't be long before the snow would be on the ground, blanketing the town in a white coat of fluffy, powder.
Eventually, the door sprang open causing Emma to jump backward in surprise. She hadn't expected an answer from the door at all. She watched as the brunette came into view, from what she could tell Regina looked exhausted. Or she had possibly been crying?
12:30pm - Regina Mills
"Miss Swan," The brunette spoke, an irritated expression had crossed her face. "I thought I told you to stay away." She wore a red blouse and a pair of black dress pants.
Her head throbbed as she spoke. She indeed had been letting her emotions out. For once, in a way that wasn't destructive to other people but more destructive to herself. In short, she had been crying until she gave herself a migraine and she had to fall asleep to relieve herself of the ache in her head. In fact, her entire face and the rest of her body ached. However, she preferred not to let that on to the sheriff.
"I- Just came to check on you. We have been worried," The blonde's eyes bore into the brunette's, she could see her face was grief-stricken. "It's been a week and you haven't been answering her phone." Emma continued, waving her cell phone as a gesture.
Regina sighed and closed her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose as her eyebrows furrowed. Processing information for a moment before she chose to speak. A few strands of her hair brushed against her cheek before she looked up and opened her eyes. She found the blonde staring at her intensely. "Will you stop that..." Regina grumbled with pure irritation.
"Sorry," Emma mumbled and duck her head, looking at the concrete steps. She eventually looked back at Regina once again. "But, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, dear." The brunette replied, straightening up her posture. "I would just appreciate it if I was provided... space."
"It's what you do with that space is what I'm worried about, Gina." Emma claimed, tilting her head and crossed her arms. Her cellphone under her armpit. She knew Regina wasn't good with emotions, cause neither was she. But she had learned to care for this woman as they shared a son.
Regina had come to her senses that the irritatingly, cheeky blonde would not go away until she heard what she wanted to hear. Regina gave an exasperated sigh and looked at Emma and shook her head. "I just need time to process," She expressed and swallowed hard. She had pressed her hand against her stomach and sighed.
Emma's eyes flickered, watching Regina's movements. It was different seeing her distraught in comparison to the Regina she knew. The Regina she knew wouldn't give up. "I get that, but you can't just give up and shut the whole world out," Emma exclaimed, now exasperated. She glared at her and shook her head.
"Goodbye, Miss Swan." She said, there was something in her eyes that said she didn't want to do this but she had to for her own good. She turned away and flicked her wrist, sending Emma flying backward onto the hard concrete, and slammed the doors shut behind her as she retreated inside. She heard a loud groan and a thud on the concrete... she would have to apologize for that another time.
12:50 pm- Emma Swan
The blonde laid on the concrete after the impact and groaned. "The hell-" She mumbled, slowly forcing herself up from where she had fallen and staggered to her feet. She was definitely going to feel those aches and pains later. Right now, she probably deserved it. She sighed and walked back to her car, her left leg starting to get a limp. She eventually made it to the car and flopped into the seat, practically throwing herself into the seat with a grunt. What the hell, Regina? Emma thought to herself. She adjusted herself in the seat, getting comfortable. She tried not to get fueled about being tossed across the lawn. She knew Regina had her reasons for doing what she did. Whatever they may have been. She thought the best thing she could do at best right now was to go home and share the news with Henry instead of texting him as this was a discussion that wouldn't take over the phone. Emma sighed and pulled her cell phone from her pocket, the screen cracked from the fall. She had checked to make sure it still worked. Yep. It still turned on but the cracks in the screen were far from minor. However, it was clear enough that she noticed Henry had texted her back. "Hmm," She mumbled, rubbing her throbbing and aching leg. She had managed to walk back to her vehicle despite her painful limp.
12:55pm- Regina Mills
Upon slamming the door behind her the brunette drew in a pained, shuddered breath. She wrapped her arms against herself, a self-soothing gesture. She didn't want to do what she had done but, it was much safer for those around her if they were at a distance from her at this time. She had never been a great conductor of emotional pain; in fact, she often lashed out. People got hurt. It's what she did to survive.
She peered out the window of her front door just in time to watch Emma Swan's little, yellow bug roll away and turn off toward the road into town. She couldn't say that it didn't bother her when she had tossed the blonde into her front lawn. She didn't mean any harm by it. Just wanted to be alone for a little while. She owed it to herself that much. The fewer the people that got caught up in her messes the safer they were. Or at least that's what she considered herself to think so.
So, I know the ending is kinda choppy so, sorry about that!
What do you guys think about the POV switches? Let me know if
I should keep doing that or if the time stamps are too much?
