Chapter 2: Starting The Trip

13 years later in the summer in August.

The screen opens the scene where we come into a train arriving from Burlington to Brattleboro Vermont.

We see one male passenger typing on his laptop while sitting down on his seat.

He was twenty one years old, wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, black and white sneakers, wearing a kerchief around his neck along with a shark's tooth necklace, brown hair, and a black hat that shows the hunting sign on it.

This was Logan Johnson and he was busy watching a Godzilla movie on his laptop. Today was the day when he and his brother, Riley Johnson, along with his cousins Terran and Ambria Momaney go camping in their grandparents cabin for the weekend.

"Attention passengers, we are arriving in Brattleboro now. Please put away your things and we will stop shortly. Thank you." The voice of the conductor announced on the speaker.

Hearing this, Logan sighed in response and closed his laptop. Then he puts it in his backpack.

Soon the train arrives in the Amtrak station of Brattleboro.

There an elderly man with white hair, a striped buttoned up shirt, white blue jeans, and brown shoes was waiting in the parking lot

This was John Pinkney, the step-father of Logan and Riley. He was currently waiting for his step-son in his subaru and, lucky for him to smile happily, he sees Logan getting off the train with his two bags as he was walking over to his car.

Logan opens the car doors to the back seat, placing his bags on the seat before closing it, joining his step-father by climbing in the front seat.

"Hey there, sonny-boy!" John said, happy to see his step-son as he closes the door and buckles up.

"Hi, Johnny." Logan replied back with a happy smile.

"You ready to go camping with your brother and cousins?" John asked.

"Oh, you bet I am." Logan answered back.

John then started the car and soon they were on their way back to their house in Park Laughton Rd in Dummerston.

On the way back, things were quiet in the car, before John said to his step-son.

"Now remember, Logan. While you and your family members are on this vacation, I want good behavior, and I mean good behavior, don't do anything rationally, and don't get into any trouble." John said to Logan.

"Don't worry, Johnny. We went through this already on video chat with Mom. Besides, I'm a young adult now. We'll be fine." Logan assured his step-father with a smirk.

John just smiled as he sighed. "I know. I just want you to be safe is all."

Soon they came up to their driveway as they saw two cars as well that Logan knew that one of them was his brother's. Then they get out as Logan gets his bags as John went inside the house.

They arrived inside as Logan puts his bags in the man-cave and walks upstairs to join John.

Once he got up he was then greeted by a welcoming sight by an older teenager. This one was older than Logan as he was wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and brown hair.

This was Logan's older brother, Riley Johnson.

"Hey Riley!" Logan said to his brother who turned to him and smiled at him.

"Hey, Log." Riley greeted back with a happy smile. "So are you excited to go camping in the woods?"

"Sure am!" Logan said happily.

"You will be even more happy that your two favorite cousins are coming!" An elder female voice was heard.

The boys turned to see an elder woman shorter than them, brown and white hair, a pink sleeveless shirt, white shorts, and blue sneakers.

This was their mother, Sheila Pinkney.

"Hey Mom!" Logan greeted as the two shared a loving hug as Sheila kissed her younger son's cheek.

"How was the train ride, honey?" Shelia asked happily.

"Went well. I'm all set and ready for camping in Maine." Logan said happily.

John soon came in and said to his sons with a happy smile. "Well, we hope you boys will have fun. And make sure to be careful."

The brothers just smiled as they chuckled.

Later that night after dinner, the boys were in the man-cave and were watching t.v.

"So how's college doing for you?" Riley asked his brother who sighed.

"Well, going through the second year at Succeed isn't that easy. The new students have gotten well with us lately. But there are still a few small problems that can't be handled." Logan answered.

"Don't take it personally, buddy. You have a second year on you." Riley assured him.

"Thanks." Logan replied back to him.

Then he changed to the news channel.

"Now we go live to the scene in Presque isle Maine where authorities are currently looking for any other intel on what happened to some of the missing farmers. And now Abby Shields is reporting live. Go ahead, Abby." A news man said.

"Thank you, Walter. Today we have witnessed that three young men and two girls have recently been searching for their parents, but they say they have been missing for almost a few days since last week. Authorities are now seeking for all the parents and children to stay home at any cost…" Abby reported live at the scene of a few young people.

Logan and Riley looked at the scene with curiosity and wonder.

"What happened to their parents?" Logan asked worriedly.

"That's weird, we haven't seen one of those happen in Maine before in 8 years." Riley asked as he was feeling concerned for the people in Maine.
