Jerusha emptied her glass of water and placed the glass down in the sink. Her front door opened and she froze for a second.
"It's us!" Angel yelled.
She breathed a sigh of relief and walked out to greet her four friends and team members.
"You got dressed," Seth smirked. "I did like the towel look earlier though."
"That fucker caught me in the shower," Jerusha said.
"He saw you naked?" Bianca asked.
"And liked it," Jerusha added.
"What did he say?" Aleister asked.
"That he wants to fuck me before he kills me. You know, the usual creepy stuff we get from these beings. Nothing I haven't heard before," Jerusha said.
Seth walked over and hugged her.
"I see the spell is working," Seth said. "I know, I'm the best."
"And you got a great ego too," Jerusha grinned.
"You love it," Seth chuckled. "It'll hold up for now. Let me know when you need an adjustment or if something feels off. We've never battled a demon before. I'm not sure how far his power reaches."
"I've looked into that," Angel said. "They come with a lot of power. More than any beings before them, but they're not invincible. They can't control everything around them at once."
"I'm sure we'll learn soon enough how far his power stretches," Aleister said.
Jerusha nodded. She had some good friends in these four people. They were a strong team.
"Why the fuck do these beings always choose our town?" Bianca asked annoyed.
"I'm sure there's a team like us in most towns," Jerusha shrugged.
"We're probably not as special as we like to think ourselves," Aleister agreed.
"Charlotte?" Angel asked.
"She's waiting for us," Jerusha answered.
"Let's go then," Angel said. "We can't keep waiting for him to find us. We need to bring him to where we want."
They all left Jerusha's house and piled into Seth's stationcar. Jerusha, Bianca and Angel on the back seat, Aleister in the passenger seat and Seth driving. They discussed their upcoming plan while they drove to the edge of town and parked the car.
"Charlotte's place," Seth sighed. "I kinda miss her."
"She's back today," Angel said.
"Girl's not gonna stay," Bianca said. "She had enough. She just wants to live out here in peace."
"She's with us today. That's all that matters. Let's get out of the car," Jerusha said.
They all left the car and walked into Charlotte's land. They walked through the many tall trees until they found the clearing where she was waiting for them.
"Took you long enough," Charlotte said.
Jerusha walked over to Charlotte and hugged her.
"I've missed you too, Charlotte," Jerusha said.
Jerusha turned around and took a look at the clearing. She already knew how it looked but she hadn't been there in a while.
"Okay, let's get this show on the road. Seth, I need you to adjust the spell enough to let him back in but only so he can see what I allow him to see," Jerusha said.
"Got it," Seth said.
"Just like we discussed in the car. Aleister out of sight. Angel to my right. Seth to my left. Biance over there," Jerusha pointed. "And Charlotte stay out of my sight too. Aleister, fill in Charlotte quickly while we get set up."
Everyone quickly got to their assigned spots. Aleister nodded from afar to let them know Charlotte was up to date with everything before both he and Charlotte disappeared out of view. Jerusha looked over at Seth and nodded for him to adjust the spell.
"Let's do this," Jerusha took a deep breath. "Let the demon back in. And don't let him fucking kill me."
