Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Dead King. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own LOTR, Tolkien and a few others do.
Most orcs would find teaming up with a man thing to be stupid and a waste of time. However? Ogbur did not care for orc politics, after all? Why care about something that you would soon control.
"He looks like he's breathing." One of his soldiers stated. "Boss, why aren't we killing the man thing? Or eating him?" Another asked while prodding the body with his club.
Ogbur said nothing, simply curious about what the man thing was still doing here. He thought the army had either routed or slain any who were still in the area.
"Yeah, does seem a little peculiar, Ogbur." Koth said and crossed his arms. "Your not thinking of using the man thing, are you?" Koth questioned as the body groaned and began to sit up.
Before any of Ogbur or Koth's men could react, the creature that had once been a human rolled back. He drew his sword at the horde of orcs that crowded around him with interest.
"The man thing has reflexes." One of the orcs said as Ogbur turned.
"I suppose you heard all that, pink skin?" Ogbur questioned and crossed his arms.
Ogbur knew how crafty humans were. Sauron underestimated them, saw them as greedy, mortal men that could be corrupted easy.
'Funny he doesn't remember also saying the same about us.' Ogbur said as he turned to his men. "Go steal some grog, you Shrakh eaters." Ogbur said and watched his soldiers file out.
"You promised me a seat, Ogbur." Koth said, pointing a spiny finger at Ogbur who raised his club.
"Didn't see your reinforcements coming through on their end, Koth." Ogbur hissed and pointed his club at the orc captain.
"Sounds like neither of you get along that well." The human said which caused both orcs to turn to him. "If you both want the Warchief seat? Sitting around isn't going to solve anything. Your warriors, fight." The human said, planting his sword into the ground.
"Manthing has a point." Koth said before Ogbur shoved him at the moment.
"We still have a plan." Koth said while chuckling to himself. "You want that damn seat, your help me get mine." Koth stated while inclining his head towards his friend.
"And we have things to discuss, human." Ogbur said while Koth started to leave. "Like why the hell I shouldn't kill you for hearing that plan." Ogbur said and pointed his club at the human.
"I already died." The human said and shook his head while checking his surroundings at the moment. "I don't think I qualify as human anymore, Ogbur…. Even if I don't know where I am… Or how we are even holding this talk." Ogbur said while checking his surroundings.
The human turned to the side, clearly not seeing much danger in Ogbur. Ogbur chuckled. He could at least respect the fact that someone didn't fear him to begin with.
"Then what do I call you?" Ogbur questioned as the man shrugged.
"Sydell would have been my name in life." The man said as he removed his cloak to reveal charcoal grey skin. "I suppose I would be the 'dead king' now." He said and chuckled with amusement.
Ogbur said nothing, simply wondering if he was insane or not. He still had a job to do, regardless. He didn't care for Sauron or his conquest of all lands. He wanted power, plain and simple.
"Why go for the title of Warchief over overlord?" The dead king questioned and looked to the side. "That is what you call the orc in charge, do you not?" The dead king asked, raising a greyed eye.
He was not living anymore. And whatever magics had brought him back to life? The man was grateful… But he still had a score of his own to settle at the moment, there was that much.
"Bigger target, bigger power." Ogbur said and looked around. "You become a king? You have 20 assassins who want to get you." Ogbur said and shook his head.
"Fair point." The dead king said as he leapt down from the ledge he was on. "Now then, we have work to do, do we not?" The dead king questioned and got a raised eyebrow.
Ogbur said nothing as he turned to look around. He was quite curious about what the dead king wanted at the moment. Still, everyone had their own agendas, he couldn't lie about that.
"You know not every single one of them is going to be happy, pink skin." Ogbur said as the dead king looked at his sword.
"Somehow I doubt that will be much of an issue currently." The dead king responded, rolling his eyes as he continued walking.
"Blasted man thing." Ogbur said, unknowing that he would come to regret saying that.
The dead king planned to humble Sauron for what he had done… And now? He had the means to start fighting back.
If only life was so kind to everyone at the moment.
Author Notes
Phew. Another chapter done! I want to point out I'm not going to make the dead king some super god that can punch Sauron in the face. His powers are limited and such. Next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show the dead king and Ogbur plotting to take over Nurnen and such at the moment. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Next chapter will be 900 words at the moment.
